Chapter 9- The Wands part 2

As the first rays of sunlight came through the tree's, Merlin woke. He had had trouble sleeping all night, and the pale sunlight dancing across his face had drawn him to wakefulness at last. Glancing over, he saw his brother still asleep, and moved more quietly so as not to wake him. But, as hard as he tried, he couldn't seem to be quiet for very long, and seconds later stepped on a branch, breaking it with a loud snap. Merlin heard Gwaine jerking up, followed about less then a second by being thrown against a tree not-very-gently. He groaned, and seconds later by a muttered curse, and being dropped to the ground. Merlin groaned as he fell a couple feet to the ground. Gwaine raced over, a worried expression on his face.

"did I hurt you? Are you okay?" he asked as he held out a hand for Merlin to take, which he did. Once he was standing, he rubbed his forehead, where he was sure a lump would form later on.

"yeah, I'm fine." he said, although he already felt a headache coming on.

Gwaine bit his lip, "sorry about that." he said, rubbing the back of his head and avoiding eye contact. Merlin chuckled,

"I think we need to have some more practice on controlling your Magic." he said as he moved over to pack up. Just as him and Gwaine finished packing up, the Unicorns woke and the Druid Elders approached them.

"We have a few hours ride ahead, Emrys, Faunus." said one, nodding to each as they said their name.

Gwaine nodded,

"and who knows how long it will take to get them back." he said grimly.

No one said anything to that, but Merlin knew full well the danger. The possibilities of what could happen.

Soon they were on their way, the Druids able to keep up to the Unicorns fast trot, of course using their Magic to help a bit.

About four hours later they made it to the Druids camp. At the sound of the horses hoofbeats, they slowly started coming out, bowing when they saw Merlin and Gwaine.

The quieter Druid turned to them, "Morgana and Morgause are that way about three or four miles." he said, pointing to the left.

They nodded, "thank you." Merlin said, Forbes turning in that direction.

Soon they were galloping that direction, quickly covering a mile, then two.

"So, whats the plan again?" Gwaine called.

"We get the wands."

"Besides that."

"Stay alive?"

Gwaine rolled his eyes, "so, we don't have a actual plan?"

"Nope." Merlin replied with a grin, "I just figure we would figure it out as we went along."

"Oh, wonderful idea!" Gwaine said sarcastically.

"You have anything better?"

The silence answered Merlins question, and he chuckled in reply. A couple minutes later, Osvaldo started to slow down, his twin doing the same only to stay by his brother.

"Whats wrong?" Gwaine questioned, laying a hand on the Unicorns neck.

"We're getting closer. I can feel it." Osvaldo replied, a hint of distress in his voice.

They proceeded at a slower pace, sometimes stopping for the Unicorns to adjust to it. Even Forbes was starting to feel it. About ten minutes later, they were able to see the entrance of a cave. They stopped, and dismounted.

"You two stay here unless absolutely necessary." Gwaine warned, Forbes huffing a irritated sigh at the words of warning. Merlins sharp gaze efficiently got him in line. They nodded, Osvaldo nudging Gwaine comfortingly before bowing his head and watching them walk to what they hope would not be their death.

When they go to the entrance, nothing was visible through the darkness, but they new without a doubt they were there. Merlin could feel his Magic buzzing angrily and tingling in apprehension, and Gwaine's own Magic was caught between giving his body a headache, or making him want to throw up.

Slowly and cautiously they proceeded, not sure as to how large it was or how far back their enemy was.

A good fifteen minutes they saw some light, and moving closer could barely hear voices.

"got them." Gwaine jumped a bit as Merlin spoke into his mind, but quickly calmed and nodded.

"lets get closer so we can hear them."

Slowly they made their way foreward, trying to avoid any loose rocks.

"these wands hold powerful magic, sister. Think of the power we could have!" Morgause said.

"Yes, I can feel the Magic they hold." Morgana said, a bit of awe in her voice.

Just then Merlin accidentality bumped a rock with his foot, and the brothers cringed as the noise echoed on the walls around them.

"Who goes there?" Morgause shouted.

"Show yourself!" Morgana added.

Slowly Gwaine and Merlin walked away from their hiding spot and into the light.

Their eyes widened a bit as they saw the Knight and servant.

"I believe those wands are ours." Gwaine said, glancing at the two wands that Morgause were holding.

"Yours? You have no Magic." Morgause said with a scowl.

The two warlocks said nothing as their eyes turned gold, a fireball forming in Merlins hand, and water between Gwaines.

The Priestesses gasped, and Morgana threw a fireball at Merlin in her surprise.

Merlin easily deflected it before throwing his own at Morgana.

The fight continued with Gwaine and Morgause joining in.

It continued like this, until Mordred showed up.

He stared at Merlin in surprise, "Emrys?!" he exclaimed, surprised to see Merlin.

"one of them is Emrys?" Morgause exclaimed, the two priestesses stopping in their surprise, giving Gwaine the perfect opportunity to get the wands, the two vanishing out of Morganas and Morgauses hands and reappearing in Merlins and Gwaines.

As soon as they had the wands, they ran out, Gwaine just narrowly missing a fireball.

"EMRYS!" came Mordred's scream as they ran, several large pieces of rock falling.

But, with a quick wave of Gwaines hand they hovered in the air, only falling after the two warlocks had passed.

The Earth element was especially easy for him to use.

The Unicorns met them at the cave entrance, and they quickly jumped on, Osvaldo and Forbes silently taking off at a run, horns glowing softly as they used their Magic to cover their tracks.

Neither Gwaine or Merlin were aware where they were going.

Only when they came to a Druid camp did the Unicorns pause.

As the warlocks got off, the Unicorns horns glowed even brighter, and they walked around the edge of the camp while a few of the Druid children ran over to Merlin and Gwaine.

"What were you doing?" Gwaine questioned when they returned.

"Creating a invisibility shield. No one will be able to detect us, the Unicorn Magic is too strong for them." Forbes replied, pawing the ground.

Merlin and Gwaine both breathed out a sigh of relief at the same time.

For once they could relax.

I'm sorry if its not very good, I have been working on some other things too. Ok, so could everyone tell me the important parts of what happens before the battle at Camlan? Because I haven't watched past the middle of season 4, and I don't have time to watch it. That, and I have tons of ideas for a sequel to this, and I kinda wanna get it done so I can start!

Reviews are always welcome :)
