Chapter 8: Nightmares and Talks

Hey, this is really late, and I do apologize. But it's here now, so please review!

Luke was tired after the healing. Obi-Wan and Anakin looked concerned, but Healer Che said it was normal, especially with how much Force Lightning his body absorbed. So they let him sleep. Luke started to dream about what happened right before he arrived here.

Luke was back in Bespin. He was fighting his father, but he wasn't in the big, black suit. He was in his Jedi robes, but his eyes were yellow. They were glaring at him with hatred, like he wasn't worth the dirt beneath his feet.

Luke let out a sob. Did his father hate him? He couldn't take it if he did. He needed his father. He's always needed his father.

"You're so pathetic," said Anakin, "Crying already? I haven't even touched you?" Anakin used the force to drag Luke's hand out in front of him. Anakin cut it off. He laughed as Luke bit his lip so hard it bled and squeezed his eyes shut so tight that the tears couldn't slip past. "Pathetic. Why would anyone want you?"

Luke bolted upright in the bed. He was still in the Hall of Healing, much to his dismay. It was really late or really early, if the sky was anything to go by. He used the Force, and he noticed Master Che was asleep. He quietly stood up and unplugged himself from the machines. He snuck out the door and out of the Hall of Healing. He needed peace. He needed Anakin, but he wasn't sure how Anakin felt about him.

He wandered around the temple for a while. He soon found himself in an unknown garden. Luke was tired, so he sat down on a bench. His eyes started dropping, and soon he fell asleep.

Line break…

Anakin groaned as he was drawn from his sleep by his comlink. He checked his chrono and noticed it was just past 3 in the morning. He groaned. Why was someone calling him at this time in the morning? He answered and said, "Skywalker."

"Luke's missing!" Healer Che said, and Anakin bolted upright, "I woke up and went to check on him, but he wasn't there. The machines were unplugged, and the bedsheets were messed up."

"I'll go look for him," said Anakin, "He'll be fine, I promise." Anakin tried to reach Luke through the Force, but Luke wasn't answering. Anakin started to panic. Nothing could happen to Luke. He had to protect his son. He used the Force to calm himself down. Then he searched for Luke's Force signature. He sighed in relief when he felt it. He followed it to a garden on the opposite side of the Temple, and he smiled fondly when he saw Luke sleeping peacefully on a bench. "Hey, Luke, buddy. You need to wake up." Luke slowly woke up.

"Dad?" Luke asked groggily.

"Hey, bud. Whatcha doing out here?" Anakin asked, and he took his cloak and wrapped around Luke's shoulders. Like huddled underneath it instead of answering. Anakin grew concerned. "What's wrong, Luke?"

"I had a nightmare," said Luke, and he looked down unsurely.

"Oh, Luke," said Anakin, "Do you wanna talk about it?"

Luke stayed silent for a few moments before he finally said, "It was about when you cut off my hand, but you weren't in the black suit. You were you, but your eyes were yellow, and you said I was pathetic and no one would ever want me."

"Luke, I love you. Don't ever forget it. You mean the world to me," said Anakin. Luke threw himself into Anakin's arms. He buried his head into Anakin's chest. He started crying. Anakin laid down and pulled Like down with his. He adjusted his cloak, so it fell over both of them. He held Luke tightly. Soon they both dozed off. Luke ended up stuck between the back of the bench and Anakin.

Line break…..

Mace Windu was walking to his favorite garden. It had pillows and soft matts to mediate on. He needed to meditate to figure out how to deal with the falling apart of the Jedi lifestyle. He was lost in his thoughts, when he bumped into a bench. He saw Anakin and Luke curled up on the bench with only Anakin's cloak. He used the Force to lift them, and he placed a couple of matts and pillows. Then he covered them with several blankets. It is a chilly morning. He then left. He didn't want to bother them.

There was a council meeting soon anyways. He started walking to the Council Room, and he thought about how Anakin has grown. He knew what he was about to propose was the right decision.

Line break…

Palestine was annoyed. That Luke was getting in his way. Nineteen years of hard work lost because of one puny boy. It will be fixed. "Come in, Mr. Goade."

"What do you need?" the assassin asked.

"Kill the boy that Skywalker is with. Make it slow and painful," said Palpatine.

"Your wish is my command," he said.
