Little bit later than I hoped, but oh well. I got grounded and banned from my Dad's laptop. *Sigh* I hate being young. Anyways, thank you all for the reviews! I love you all. I will try to update more often, but my GCSEs are coming up and…
I feel stressy and uncreative all the time. But hey, this helps me relax. So here we go!
Disclaimer: I own nothing but Addie.
If looks could kill, Ben Finn would be dead a hundred times over. Addie swore that if she transformed and ripped his throat out now, then it would be entirely his fault. And hers. Though she couldn't really blame Page for being beautiful. Still it was a big knock to her self-esteem when Ben decided to point blank ignore her, for the rebel leader.
It was pathetic really. Ben tried and tried again to flirt with Page, but she was having none of it. In fact, Addie could swear that the older (possibly anyways) woman, hated the Captain.
Not that she cared of course. Before they arrived at the Sewer, with her lack of sleep and Ben's constant teasing of her, Addie was finding it harder and harder to keep control of herself. She couldn't decide if she wanted to kill him or kiss him.
"Come on gorgeous, you know you can't resist me." She heard him say from across the room. Kill him. She would definitely kill him. Angrily she stormed away to the nearest pub: The Riveter's Rest. One of the women rebels had kindly given her some long saved money to but some clothes as hers were stained and torn. But first, she intended to have a bath.
"Hello, would it be possible for me to have a bath?" she asked. The Inn-keep agreed, so she paid her money and was now currently sitting in a nice warm tub. She soaked the dirt and grime off her skin and washed her hair thoroughly, getting rid of every tat. She then left the inn and made her way to Bowerstone.
It was strange, being surrounded by so many people after so long alone in a forest. Addie found herself unaccustomed to the way people acted. Or maybe she was just unaccustomed to people in general. After asking a kindly woman she made her way to the clothes shop. She didn't spend very long in there. She bought some practical outfits, leggings and fur for the winter and a cheap, but still pretty dress. After she left she saw a sign next to the local pub. Being unable to read, she asked a shop keeper what it was for.
"It's for a job, love. A barmaid job." He replied, turning away to serve another customer. Heading inside she asked the barman if she could do a shift, just to earn some money.
An hour later, her old clothes now also smelling of beer, she walked out of the pub, a few gold coins in hand. She looked to the sky, it would be getting dark soon. But just one more thing.
She ran to the hair dressers and asked to have her hair cut and brushed. Some might call her vain, but if she was to be spending time around 'proper' humans then she would do well to not look like a wild animal. She would save that for her nightmares.
"How much do ya want chopped then?" the hairdresser asked, brushing her long ,raven curls. Spending years in a forest meant that things like having hair cut weren't that common. And as such, her unruly hair went down to the small of her back, choppy, where she had hacked at it a few weeks back with a blunt knife she had found. Addie indicated to just below her shoulders. That way it would be long enough to tie up, and easier to manage.
About ten minutes later, the hairdresser was done. Looking at herself in the poorly light, cracked mirror, Addie barely recognised herself. For the first time, in a very long time, she resembled the girl who went into the forest to kill some Balverines. Not the monster she had become. She smiled slightly. Paying the woman the gold, she asked if she could get changed in the back. Nodding the hairdresser went back to work. She discarded her rags and put on some grey leggings, a white top with a darker grey corset over the top. She slid on her new boots and left the shop. She then made her merry way back to the Sewers.
Well she ended up limping on the way back; her new shoes were a nightmare. She could feel numerous blisters along her feet, adding to the ones earned from the trek from Mourning Wood to Bowerstone Industrial. She knocked on the door and was let in by a man named Kidd. Nodding to him as she passed, Addie hobbled her way to the sleeping quarters. She pushed the door open to walk straight into none other than Captain Ben Finn himself. His startled cerulean eyes met her dark green ones. In an instant he had recovered himself and instead plastered his trademark smirk on his face.
"Hello Gorgeous. What's your name?"
Thought I'd end it there. Avo knows how Addie will react. Well I do but that's beside the point. I love my Dad's laptop. One reason: Spell Checker. Any ways, I hope that makes up for not you know…updating. This wasn't a great chapter. She literally just shopped. But more BenXAddie later on…? Let me know what you think of this train wreck. I love reviews I really do. They warm my twisted, evil heart.
Love,
