Chapter 9: Home Again
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
Three teens sat nervously inside their leader's office. The redhead was tapping his finger on the mahogany office desk who looked as if he were to kill someone at this very moment. Aomine, Kise, and Midori was mentally cursing the sick giant for not being to experience this hell.
"So, Daiki... Care to explain what, or rather, how did this happen?" the redhead asks, but it was obvious that he demanded an explanation.
The tanned male cowered in his seat, Aka is scary when angry, but he could feel a deadly aura seeping out of the smaller teen. He wasn't angry, he's infuriated.
"Well, Kise was being an ass, so I chased him, and because of that I kinda forgot to put on my mask... It's not my fault that he ran inside Tetsu's room." Aomine explains as he scratches the back of his head.
"So it's Ryouta's fault?" the redhead turned to the blonde who was now sweating.
"Ueh?! Why me?! I just delivered Kurokocchi's food!" the blonde frantically reasons
"You just wanted to hide behind Tetsu 'cuz your'e scared that I could beat you into a pulp!"
"Why would I be scared?! I believe I am physically fit more than you are!"
"Fag face!"
"Ganguro!"
Stab.
The two immediately stopped their squabbling when they saw a pair of red scissors embedded on top of the desk, almost half of the scissors were plunged inside the wood.
"Hn, where were we?" the smile their leader gave them chills through their bones and everyone was mentally praying that this meeting should be done and over with; as soon as possible.
"Still, I'm not surprised that you did something stupid." Midori manages to comment
"Who asked you, megane...?" Aomine mumbles
"Hmph, this could be our downfall, if this gets out in public. Think." Midori sighs
Aka just watched in interest who was somewhat preoccupied with something.
"Tetsu wouldn't do that." Aomine simply says as if it were the most obvious answer
"I agree with Aominecchi..." the blonde follows
Midori heaves a sigh as he pushed his glasses on the bridge of his nose.
"Fine," the greenhead agreed "But Akashi, what do you plan on doing?" he turned to the thinking redhead
"I'm going to end the transaction today." he answered. The next thing that Aka said made the air heavy as their breaths were hold.
"We'll be returning Tetsuya."
Aka was just finished making his call when he heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." he orders
"Aka-san, did you call for me...?" a bundle of teal popped his head inside, his voice was obviously quivering despite his stoic expression
"I did." the redhead answers as he urges Kuroko to come inside
"May I know why you needed for my presence?"
Aka slowly lifted his face up to see Kuroko's. With a stern voice, he said
"We have received your ransom money."
Kuroko's eyes visibly widened before turning back to it's original blank state. It made Aka smirk.
"I can go home now...?" Kuroko confirms
"Yes, unless you don't want to." Aka sarcastically says, but somehow the latter felt as if Aka was really asking a question.
"I see..."
"You seem dejected." the redhead couldn't help but notice the lack of enthusiasm the blunette gave.
"Of course not, it's just..." Kuroko felt uncomfortable with the other's eyes piercing through his skin, he looked at his feet to avoid contact but it only made him feel worse- and nervous.
"Is it about the orphanage?"
Kuroko shot his head up in shock. He was about to say something but Aka prompted to not speak
"I hope that you cooperate and keep quiet about it, I have also made connections on how your father should cover this incident up. So please..." the redhead explains
"Did he just plead...?" Kuroko thought unbelievably, but nodded nonetheless.
"I am grateful, Tetsuya." Aka confessed as he stood up from his seat and brushed the back of his hand onto the blunette's cheek.
For some reason, Kuroko couldn't help but flush from the touch, as he thought, even though Aka's face was covered, he could tell that he really is gorgeous. Those eyes were simply breathtaking. His train of thought was interrupted when Aka's hands moved from his cheeks to his lips, the redhead brushed the blunette's lip with his thumb before covering Kuroko's eyes with the same hand. The next thing that the smaller one felt was soft, warm lips touching his.
He felt something small being pushed inside his mouth but it took too long to process for he was too baffled; after that he felt his consciousness fade. The last thing he saw was, red.
A passionate red.
Slowly opening his eyes, Kuroko took the sight of a light blue ceiling, he squinted his eyes to adjust to his surroundings. He abruptly stood up despite the slight dizziness he felt.
"This is my room!" he exclaims in his thought
He checked his pocket and his clothes- everything was in place.
"Was it all a dream...?" he mumbles to himself.
He trudged towards the window and noticed how the bodyguards were doubled and everyone was alert and most of them were prowling around his room.
"I guess not." he sighed dejectedly before walking to his bathroom to freshen up.
After doing so he went downstairs to see Momoi. She must've been so worried. Or worse, his father could blame her of the kidnapping incident. He didn't want that, he knew fully well that he was at fault for running off on his own without escorts. He couldn't help but think how his father must have felt when he was kidnapped.
When he reached the dinning hall he was greeted by a huge feast, the employees who had the look of relief in their faces, and a sobbing Momoi who ran full speed towards him before glomping him.
"Tetsu-kun! I was so worried! I'm so sorry I left you outside at that time! Oh my god, I'm so glad your'e okay!" the pinkette wailed
"It's okay, and it's not your fault Momoi-san." Kuroko comforts as he returns the hug back
"But... But..."
"Momoi-san... I'm home." he assures
But it only made Momoi cry harder.
"Tetsuya!" a weary voice called out
Momoi stopped her wailing and ran to the side of the table while wiping her tears. It was Kuroko's father who was hurriedly walking to hug his son.
"I'm so glad..." his father breathed out.
"He must've been really stressed out..." Kuroko fondly thought, he hugged his father back and felt his shoulders getting damp, he sobbed back a "I'm sorry."
It's good to be back home, although he had to admit- Deep inside his heart, he wanted to see his kidnappers again. Under normal circumstances of course.
"I wish you all well."
A few weeks after the incident, Kuroko's father informed Tetsuya about his kidnappers getting caught and arrested, but as he saw the profiles of his kidnappers he internally sighed in relief to see that it really wasn't them, he knew by the looks of these men's faces that they really were the real deal, not to mention they were in their mid 30's. The blunette just confirmed that they were the ones whom he saw as he mentally asks for forgiveness upon lying.
His father heaved a breath as if a huge thorn was removed. He smiled to his son and walked towards him.
"Tetsuya, tonight I am officially introducing you to the world." his father declares
"What do you mean father?" the blunette asks, confused.
"Tonight I shall take you with me to a friend's party. It's their company's anniversary. Powerful and famous people including the media will be there."
Kuroko's eyes widened in disbelief. After all these years of being hidden he was now to be announced?! And if the media is involved it could probably the whole world knowing him!
"Tetsuya, the world needs to know who you are, it's easier for me since I'm sure the people who'll know and protect you will increase. The police had a hard time finding your kidnappers because they didn't know who are and what you looked like. They only moved when I gave your profile and said you were my son. I couldn't take that risk again if ever something more crucial happens." his father explains, his eyes were full of determination and fondness that made Kuroko's heart flutter.
He really hated attention but he hated his father's leash on him the most. But somehow, seeing how his father really cared for him, he felt very happy. The thing that his father said that made him the happiest was when his father said that he would willingly let him choose his own friends and acquaintances, his father was now trusting his own decisions. For the longest time, he smiled wholeheartedly.
It was 7 o'clock in the evening when they left their mansion, beside him was his father who was smiling at his son's antics. Kuroko was happily looking out the window, he was thrilled on how the city seemed to glow in the night. Busy streets, friends who are out to hang out, and the air that gave of the vibe of a different dimension filled the blunette's imagination.
Momoi was kind enough to pick his clothes for the occasion, she was the one who prepped him up too. Kuroko begged his father for Momoi to go, thankfully his father agreed but she was at a different limo.
Kuroko wore a white tuxedo, underneath a black long sleeved polo with a teal colored silk tie. At the bottom he wore gray slacks and a pair of white designer shoes. He felt stiffy, especially that he kept thinking that he'll be facing a lot of people tonight, and maybe for the days to come.
As they arrived, bellboy's came rushing to open their limousine, many people were there of course, the entrance was complete with a red carpet and the media were going crazy snapping pictures and demanding interviews of every person they see. It was obvious that most of them were moguls. Everything seemed to stop when a navy blue Aston Martin One-77 and a yellow Ascari A10 parked just behind their limo. The men who came out attracted the reporters like flies and the area became a flashing and snapping mess. Squeals came after that.
Kuroko stopped for a bit but it made him squint so he continued to walk behind his father who had three bodyguards in front of him to fend of nosy reporters and paparazzi. Little did he know that a pair of navy and gold eyes followed his walking figure.
He felt exhausted before even the party started. How the heck can people be so enthusiastic on chasing moguls? His father proceeded to greet people along with introducing them to him. He only responded by bowing, smiling and hand-shaking. After he was introduced by a number of people, his father left him in the meantime to talk to a close business partner. He went outside the hall and headed towards the balcony. This party didn't feel like a party at all, it was suffocating. There were fake smiles and obvious hidden intentions emitting from their auras. He wouldn't like to be in this kind of environment, he just have to bear it for now. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, as he exhaled he felt a light tap on his shoulder, he turned to look at the man but was surprised when the man handed him a glass of water at proceeded to walk away from him. He didn't see his face but he could tell one thing, he was holding a nekotama...?
At first it felt suspicious, so he went inside where there are many people and drank the glass, the water was normal. Probably just a concerned person? He placed his glass on the side of the buffet table. Suddenly, he whiffed a familiar scent that made him visibly drool. Vanilla. He noticed that beside him was a cupcake stand full of assorted cakes. It was tempting, but he didn't let it slip by, he took the vanilla-looking one and took a bite. He could feel his cheeks puff and invisible sparkles came flying as the flavors burst inside his mouth like sweet fireworks. It felt relaxing somehow. The tall man who was behind the buffet table was fondly smiling at the blunette while the smaller one remained apathetic to his surroundings as he indulged himself with the vanilla goodness.
"Oh Tetsuya, this is where you were. Come, I shall introduce you to a good friend of mine. He's the host of this party- and he's allied with our company." his father asserted as he places his hand on Kuroko's shoulder to prompt him to follow. He reluctantly placed his unfinished dessert down and followed. His father stopped in front of a man around his 30's, he had blazing red hair and a pair of ruby irises, it made Kuroko stiffen, why does he seem familiar? But he decided to shake it off.
"Yuuto, this is my son, Kuroko Tetsuya, Tetsuya, this man if a good friend of mine, Akashi Yuuto." the older blunette introduces
"Nice to meet you Akashi-san, I'm Kuroko Tetsuya." the blunette bows "Aka...shi-san...?"
"Likewise," the redhead mogul replies as the two engaged in a handshake "Oh I almost forgot, Seijuro's with me."
"Of course! Seijuro, I haven't seen him in ages!" the older Kuroko lilts
The redhead only smiled before opting someone to join them.
"Seijuro, come now and introduce yourself."
The said person waltzed his way to them in an elegant manner. Kuroko could only stand speechless.
"Good evening," the younger redhead greets the two before looking at the frozen blunette
"I am Akashi Yuuto's son, Akashi Seijuro. It's nice meeting you for the first time, Tetsuya-kun."
"Red..."
I'm actually satisfied for once on how the story turned out.
Anyway, after the poll has been closed- You can probably guess who the winner is.
Uehuehuehuehueh~ I wonder what's gunna happen now~
