Transformers: New Iacon Chronicles
Chapter 9: Out of the Past
Far away in the mountains, Kaon was dragging an unconscious Korra inside a cabin, with Tarn, Helix and Vos behind him. As they went downstairs to the basement of the cabin, they placed Korra inside a large metal box and closed the door, just as she was regaining consciousness.
"Hey! What are you doing!?" she asked, fearful for what the sadist group of Decepticons had in store for her.
"Exacting our revenge for what you did," Tarn answered, calm yet intimidating as ever. "For now, you will remain inside this metal confinement until we have constructed a device that is more subtle for inflicting pain on your more 'fragile' kind. Just know Avatar Korra, that your death shall be nice...and slow." With that, he and the other three DJD members walked away from the box while Korra began pounding on the door of the box.
"You can't keep me in here forever!" she shouted.
Back at New Iacon, as the sun began rising, the phone in Tenzin's bedroom began ringing, right when Meelo was sleeping in between his parents. As the phone rang, Meelo woke up with a yawn, rubbing his eyes before crawling over Tenzin's face to reach the phone, which of course woke him up.
"Who is this?" Meelo asked as he answered the phone. "It's six in the morning. This better be important." Suddenly, Tenzin took the phone away from his son while Pema began waking up as well.
"Councilman Tenzin here," Tenzin said.
"Tenzin, it's Optimus," Optimus said from the other side. "City Hall has been ambushed...and Korra is missing."
"What?" Tenzin asked, his eyebrows raised up in shock.
*QUE TRANSFORMERS: PRIME OPENING THEME*
Once Tenzin arrived at City Hall, with Hot Rod running next to him, they were shocked to find that the place was a mess, there was an Equalist glove on the floor, and Chief Saikhan was standing near Tarrlock, who was being healed.
"What happened?" Hot Rod asked, getting Saikhan and Tarrlock's attention. "What was Korra doing in City Hall?"
"As I told Chief Saikhan, I was in my office picking up the last of my belongings, when I heard a commotion downstairs, and I saw Korra being ambushed by Equalists and Decepticons," Tarrlock explained, which was of course a lie for the most part. "I tried to protect Korra, but we were outnumbered. Then a Decepticon knocked me out. When I came to, the police had arrived, but Korra was gone. I'm so sorry." He then turned over to Chief Saikhan.
"Chief Saikhan, mobilize the entire police force," he ordered. "We have to find the Avatar."
Meanwhile, Lin was lying in a hospital bed when the radio next to her buzzed to life.
"We interrupt your regularly scheduled broadcast to bring you this special report," the broadcaster said, which got Lin's attention. "Late last night, Decepticons and Equalists attacked City Hall, subduing Councilman Tarrlok and capturing Avatar Korra." Upon hearing that, Lin's eyes widen in shock and immediately turned up the volume of the radio.
"Details are still coming in but-" the broadcaster continued, only for Lin to switch off the radio and get out of bed. However, due to her injuries, she winced and grabbed her arm in pain, but that didn't stop her from walking to a cupboard and metalbending her armor onto her. Once she was fully suited however, she looked down at her badge and removed it without hesitation before putting on a trench coat and walking away.
Back with Korra, it was clear that she was beginning to panic as she starts shouting and banging on the walls of the metal prison she was in.
"Somebody! Help!" she shouted, hoping someone would hear her, but to no avail as her pounding softened. "Please!" She then started to breath hard as she backed into the back wall.
"Please..." she said before sliding down to the floor, begining to loose all hope before remembering something Tenzin advised to her.
"I urge you to meditate on these visions," he said. "I believe Aang's spirit is trying to tell you something." Korra then got in a lotus position before taking a deep breath and closed her eyes, beginning to meditate. This time however, it worked. Korra now began to see visions of something that occurred long ago in New Iacon.
Aang, now forty years old, looked upon the entrance of a building before hearing footsteps behind him.
"What are you doing here Aang?" a voice that was familiar to Aang said. Aang then turned around and saw Toph, wearing her metalbender uniform, with Ironhide standing beside her and a platoon of Elite Guard metalbenders behind them.
"I told you, Hide and I have this under control," Toph continued.
"Under normal circumstances I wouldn't get involved, but if what those victims said is true we're not dealing with a normal criminal," Aang responded, clearly concerned for one of his best friend's safety.
"Fine," Toph replied with a slight smile before motioning Aang to follow her. "Follow me Twinkletoes."
"Toph, I'm forty years old," Aang reminds her, clearly not enthused that she still calls him that. "You think you could stop with the nicknames?"
"Fraid not," Ironhide answered for Toph as he and Aang followed her inside the building, walking towards a man sitting at a table, a couple of what appeared to be bodyguards standing in front of it.
"It's over," Toph declared as she pointed at the man. "You're under arrest Yakone."
"What is New Iacon coming to?" the man, now identified as Yakone, asked, before lifting his head up and looking upon Aang, Toph and Ironhide. "Used to be a man could enjoy his lunch in peace." Suddenly, Ironhide launched a wire from his wrist, catching Yakone's own wrist, before yanking him over the table, turning it over. A metalbender then came in and subdued Yakone.
"You're going away for a long time, bub," Ironhide said as he scowled down at Yakone while he was being cuffed.
"What's the big idea?" Yakone asked.
"We have dozens of witnesses Yakone," Aang answered. "We know what you are."
"Take him away," Toph ordered before the metalbenders force Yakone into custody.
"I've beaten every trumped-up charge you yahoos have brought against me, and I'll beat whatever pack of fools you have in store for me too," Yakone declared as he was taken away, unknown to any of them, that they were being watched.
Then, Korra awakened from her meditative state and gasped in surprise.
"Whoa," she said as she looked upwards. "I finally connected with you Aang, but, what are you trying to tell me? A way out of this box would be nice." She then took a deep breath and meditated again.
Meanwhile, Tenzin was busy on the phone in his office, trying to find any more leads in Korra's disappearance, when the rest of Team Avatar, Bumblebee, Lin and Ironhide entered his office.
"I have to go," he said to who he was talking to on the phone as he looked up to Lin, surprised. "Call me back in a minute if you hear anything." He then hung up the phone and stood up to face the others.
"Lin, Ironhide, what're you-you...you two should be in the hospital!" he said.
"I figured you could use our help finding Korra," Lin explained when Mako and Hot Rod walked towards the desk Tenzin was behind.
"Do you have any leads?" Hot Rod asked.
"I've been on the phone all morning, but nothing yet," Tenzin answered as he walked to the others.
"We need Naga," Mako suggested. "She can track Korra."
"I'm afraid she's missing as well," Bumblebee responded.
"Then where do we start?" Knock Out asked.
"My guess is that the Equalists are hiding underground, in the maze of tunnels beneath the city," Ironhide answered.
"Underground," Asami angrily replied. "Just like my father's secret factory. Figures."
"Yeah, yeah, that makes sense," Bolin said. "When those chi-blockers had me in their truck, in sounded like we drove into a tunnel."
"I know where to start looking," Mako said in realization. "Come on!" With that, the rest of Team Avatar ran off, leaving Tenzin, Bumblebee, Ironhide and Lin.
"Wherever Amon is keeping Korra, I bet that's where my officers are too," Lin said.
"Then let's bring em home kiddo," Ironhide replied.
Later that day, the group walked through the alleyways of New Iacon, searching for the spot where Bolin was taken.
"The truck with Bolin took off down this alley," Mako said as he lead the group through the alley, only to come to an intersection.
"Which way?" Bumblebee asked.
"Hmm," Bolin answered, placing a hand on his chin and pointing forward. "This way kinda smells familiar." However, Lin then stopped and stomped her bare foot onto the ground, sensing something.
"There's a tunnel nearby," she said while pointing to her right before leading the group down an alleyway. She lead them to a canal. so the group, minus Tenzin who jumped off and cushions the landing with his airbending, slid down.
"There!" Mako said as he pointed to a tunnel that's blocked off by metal grates before the group ran to it. Lin then crouched down and inspected the ground, finding-
"Tire tracks," Ironhide said.
"Korra has to be in there...somewhere," Hot Rod said before Lin opened the grates with her metalbending. The group then walked down the dark tunnel, with Mako firebending a small flame to illuminate the area, before coming up to an area with four different tunnels.
"Let's try this way," Hot Rod said, pointing to one of the tunnels.
"And what if Korra's not down there?" Asami asked.
"Then we pick another tunnel until we find her!" Mako answered, abeit a bit harshly, before walking down the tunnel, leaving Asami a bit hurt. The others followed Mako while Asami and Knock Out walked next to Bolin and Blaster.
"Hey, is Mako alright?" Asami asked Bolin. "He seems really worried about Korra."
"Yeah, we all are," Bolin answered.
"I know, but he's your brother," Asami responded before bringing the back of her hand to her mouth to whisper to him. "Do you think he likes Korra as more than just a friend?"
"What?" Bolin asked as the four of them stopped walking. "No! That's just gossip. Where did you hear that? Crazy talk is coming out of your mouth right now. Heh."
"What do you know Bolin?" Asami asked. "Come on, spill it."
"Nothing," Bolin nervously answered. "I mean...Knock Out told me there was this one time during the tournament when Mako and Korra almost kissed, but-" Once he dropped that on Asami, both her and Knock Out's eyes widened in shock, although for different reasons.
"They what?" Asami asked.
"Bolin!" Knock Out shouted. "There was a reason I didn't tell that to Asami you idiot!"
"Hey man, it probably ment nothin anyway!" Blaster responded.
"I doubt that," Asami said, her voice breaking slightly, when an explosive arrow a few yards away from them got their attention.
"I don't know if you know this, but all that bickering is NOT gonna help us find Korra any faster!" Hot Rod angrily shouted. "Now move!"
"Yeesh, what's crawled up his tailpipe?" Knock Out asked as the four of them quickly resumed walking.
"He's just worried about Korra Knock Out," Asami answered. "Mako and Bolin told me he's known Korra since he was three, and that nothing would ever separate their friendship." Suddenly, the group heard the sound of a motorcycle approach them.
"Hide!" Arcee said before they ran behind a pillar, watching as two Equalists drove their motorcycles to a wall before one of them flipped a switch in the middle, causing the wall to flip inwards and allowing them to drive inside. Once the wall lowered back into place, the group ran to the wall and Lin closed her eyes, reaching her hand outward to touch the wall. She moved her hand around and then felt the lock from the other side. She rotated it to the right, causing it to unlock, before Lin pushed her palm upwards, causing the wall to flip upwards, allowing the group to walk inside, deeper into the Equalist base. As they sneaked around, they saw a tram system with multiple tunnels and three Equalists on a tram being instructed by a Vehicon.
"That tram goes to the training camp," the Vehicon said before the tram moved off and another tram came in from the tunnel beside him.
"Everything was delivered to the prison sir," a female Equalist said as she stepped off the tram, walking away with the Vehicon.
"That's where they must be keeping Korra," Tenzin said.
"We need to get down to that tunnel," Ironhide replied before the group ran up to the tram once no one was around. The tram then began traveling down the tunnel. On the other side, two Vehicons were standing guard when an alarm sounded. They looked inside and saw the tram coming to them, but there was nothing on it once it came to a stop.
"It's empty," one of the Vehicons said.
"Gee, ya think Steve?" the other responded snarkily. Suddenly metal cables came in from behind and wrapped around them, pulling them screaming into the tunnel.
Later, the two Vehicons were knocked into stasis and tied up against a door. Asami, Knock Out, Arcee, Bolin, Blaster and Bumblebee all looked down at them.
"You keep an eye on them," Lin instructed as she, Ironhide, Tenzin, Hot Rod and Mako ran up the stairs.
Lin and Ironhide then went down another flight of stairs, with Tenzin, Mako and Hot Rod following behind them, when they were spotted by Blitzwing. He was about to fire at them when Tenzin airbended a powerful gust of wind, forcing him to the wall before Hot Rod ran up and placed his foot on his chest, forcing him to the ground.
"You guys keep searching," Hot Rod instructed. "I'm gonna see if this creep knows anything." With that, Lin, Ironhide, Mako and Tenzin ran off to try and find either Korra or Lin's men while Blitzwing glared up at Hot Rod.
"Here's how it's gonna go Blitzwing, I'm gonna count to ten, and if you don't tell me where Avatar Korra is, I blow your fraggin head," Hot Rod said, rather seriously, only for Blitzwing to laugh at his threat.
"Don't make me laugh," he said with a smirk on his face before Hot Rod got his bow and arrow ready.
"One..."
Back with Lin and the others, they soon made it to a jail cell that contained Lin's metalbenders as well as Smokescreen. Upon seeing them, Lin immediately metalbended the bars open while the cops turned to her weakly.
"Chief bei Fong?" one of them asked while Lin looked down, saddened.
"I'm too late..." she said. "That monster already took your bending, didn't he?" All the cops nodded in response before Smokescreen walked forward.
"That's not all Chief," he said. "Just a few hours ago...he shut down Warpath." Upon hearing this, Ironhide's optics widened in shock.
"No..." he said while Lin's saddened expression remained.
"I'm so sorry," she said as she shaked her head sadly. "Come on, let's get you out of here."
Meanwhile, Blitzwing still hadn't talked.
"Two..." Hot Rod said.
"You Autobot pansies wouldn't dare do such a thing," Blitzwing said, still not buying Hot Rod's threats, not aware that Hot Rod was growing angrier and angrier with each passing second.
"Three..."
"You wanna know why?"
"Four..."
"Because you ain't got any backbone."
"Five..."
"Face it you over grown trash heep."
"Six..."
"You're too soft." Finally, Hot Rod could take no more and fired an arrow straight into Blitzwing's right knee, causing him to scream in pain, now getting the message.
"THINK I'M TOO SOFT NOW!?" Hot Rod yelled.
"Son of a glitch!"
"YOU THINK I'M PLAYING!?"
"Primus, please!"
"YOU DON'T THINK I'LL DO IT!? Where the hell is she!?"
"Look, I-"
"WHERE THE HELL IS SHE!?"
"I don't know! We don't have her!"
"SEVEN!"
"Please, you gotta believe me!"
"EIGHT!"
"Tarrlock's lying to you! We didn't raid City Hall!"
"NINE!"
"Primus, please!"
"TEN!" With that, he got out an explosive arrow and was about to fire it at a petrified Blitzwing's head when a voice interrupted him.
"Hot Rod!" Lin called out to him. "He's telling the truth!" Upon hearing that, Hot Rod turned to Lin, slowly lowering his bow and arrow.
"What?" he asked.
"I scanned the entire prison," Lin answered. "Korra's not here."
"But...but why would Tarrlock make up a story about getting attacked?" Hot Rod asked as reality came to him and he realized what he had done.
"Because he has Korra!" Tenzin furiously answered. "He fooled us all!" Hot Rod then looked down at his hands and at the wounded Blitzwing, his hands shaking.
"I...I don't know what came over me..." he said. "I was actually gonna execute him then and there...what kind of Autobot am I?"
"You were just concerned for Korra's safety Hot Rod," Tenzin responded.
"I would have done the same thing," Mako added as Hot Rod looked over to the others, calming down slightly when the alarm started blaring. Knowing they will soon be surrounded by Equalists and Cons, they immediately ran back to the others, who were already signaling them to get on one of the empty hollers.
"Let's get movin!" Blaster said as everyone began boarding. Once everyone was on board, the tram began moving, but the group then saw another tram with chi-blockers heading towards them. Bumblebee then got out his blasters and fired at the top of the tram which connected it to the cable, causing it to derail and crash.
"Try and chi block THAT!" Bumblebee shouted. However, they weren't out of the fire yet, for at the other end of the tunnel, a ground bridge opened, and Shockwave and a hoard of armored Equalists came through, with mechatanks behind them.
"We got more company!" Lin said before she metalbended the rail to snap down. "Hang on!" The tram was then launched upwards and crashed through the ceiling, landing on the floor of the floor above.
Back with Korra, more of Aang's message flashed upon her eyes.
Inside New Iacon's courthouse, Yakone's trial was going forth, and the prosecutor was making her statement.
"Yakone has ruled New Iacon's criminal empire for years, yet he has always managed to stay out of the law's reach...until now," she declared while Yakone simply grinned evilly, thinking he has everything in his control. "You will hear testimony from dozens of his victims, and they will tell you Yakone has maintain his grip on the underworld by using an ability that has been illegal for decades...Bloodbending." Upon hearing that word, Sokka, now a member of New Iacon's council, frowned with suspicion and Yakone's defense attorney stood up.
"The prosecution's entire case is built upon the make-believe notion that my client is able to bloodbend at will, at any time on any day," the defense attorney stated as he walked in front of the crowd in front of him. "I remind the council that bloodbending is an incredibly rare skill and it can only be performed during a Full Moon. Yet the witnesses will claim that my client used bloodbending at every other time EXCEPT during a Full Moon. It would be a mockery of justice to convict a man for a crime that is impossible to commit!"
Months afterward, Yakone's verdict was about to be delivered, when the guards that stood outside of the courthouse heard a suspicious chant.
"ypeels yrev yreV, ypeels yrev yreV," the chant said, before the guards started to grow tired, and fell to the ground, knocked out cold. Mindwipe then emerged from the darkness in his bat mode.
Inside the courthouse, the five council members all sat down, except for Sokka.
"Councilman Sokka will now deliver the verdict," the baliff announced as sokka turned to the crowd.
"In my years, I have encountered people born with rare and unique abilities," Sokka began. "Need I remind everyone of the discovery of giant metal beings that can transform into means of transportation. As for us humans, metalbending was considered impossible for all of history, until our esteemed Cheif of Police, Toph Bei Fong, single handedly developed the skill. The overwhelming amount of testimony and evidence has convinced this council that Yakone is one of these unique individuals, and he exploited his ability to commit these heinous crimes. We find Yakone, guilty of all charges, and sentence him to life in prison." Upon the gavel hitting the block, Yakone's attorney balled up a scroll in his hand and tossed it away before banging his head on the table angrily while Yakone slowly stood up. Suddenly, his eyes dialated unaturally, and Sokka yelled in pain, his arm bent backwards slightly, before the rest of the council began to spasm with him. Toph then launched a cable from her side, but she too fell victim to the same fate the council had. It was obvious now that Yakone was bloodbending everyone, even Aang, who too began to spasm before he could do anything.
Back at the present and in City Hall, the group met up with Chief Saikhan and the other council members, including Optimus.
"Thank you all for meeting us on such short notice," Tenzin said.
"Chief," Lin and Ironhide said to Saikhan.
"Lin," Saikhan replied before Tarrlock walked inside the building.
"Have you news of Avatar Korra?" he asked.
"We do," Tenzin answered. "You kidnapped her Tarrlock!"
"I am shocked you would accuse me of such an evil act!" Tarrlock replied, pretending to act surprised and angry. "I already explained, Decepticons and Equalists attacked and took her!"
"But there were no chi-blockers or Vehicons here last night," Tenzin argued. "You planted the evidence, didn't you!?"
"That is a ridiculous accusation!" Tarrlock retaliated.
"He's lying!" a voice from the top floor said, and everyone turned to see a council page standing on the balcony and hiding behind a pillar. "I was here last night and was on my way out when I saw Tarrlock ambush her and bring her down to the garage. But he doesn't have her, the Decepticon Justice Division has her!"
"Thst is nonsense!" Tarrlock shouted. "Everyone knows you're nothing but a squeaky-voiced liar!"
"Why did you wait until now to confess?" Optimus asked.
"I was terrified to tell because...because Tarrlock is a bloodbender!" the page answered, causing everyone to gasp in shock. "He bloodbent Avatar Korra!" Before Tarrlock could respond, Optimus came forward with his blaster and everyone got in a fighting position.
"Tarrlock, you are under arrest," Optimus declared. "Come quietly or there will be trouble." However, Tarrlock immediately moved forward rapidly, and not only did the humans stop in their tracks, but so did the Autobots, which visably shocked Optimus.
"Blood wasn't the only thing I learned to bend Optimus," Tarrlock said in a sinister tone. "I also learned to bend the Energon that's coursing through you!" Before long, the entire group was knocked unconscious before Tarrlock ran off.
Hours later, everyone slowly began to regain consciousness.
"Wake up," Lin said as she walked up to a still unconscious Tenzin and slapped his face, causing him to awaken with a gasp.
"Uuugghh, man, I had this awful dream about this evil bloodbender," Bolin said, disoriented. "So wierd."
"Bolin, that really happened," Arcee replied. "He knocked us out."
"Are you serious!?" Bolin asked, shocked. "Where is he? Is he here right now?"
"Tarrlock is long gone," Saikhan answered. "I'll alert the whole force." With that, he and the councilmen walked off.
"We've only been out for a little while," Ironhide said. "Let's see if we can pick up the DJD's trail."
Meanwhile, Korra was still in her meditative state, sweat running down her forehead, as the vision continued.
While everyone inside the courtroom kept spasming in pain, Yakone suddenly set his eyes to Toph, concentrating on her as she was pulled to him against her will while grabbing the keys. She was then forced to unlock Yakone's cuffs before they fell to the floor.
"Yakone, you won't get away with this," Aang said, struggling to speak, still in Yakone's grip.
"New Iacon is mine Avatar," Yakone stated. "I'll be back one day to claim it." But before he could finish the job, the doors to the courtroom exploded, distracting Yakone and forcing him to loosen his bloodbending grip. Not taking the risk of being aprehended again, he quickly ran off through the smoke and the dust. Everyone else in the courtroom was coughing from smoke inhalation, before the smoke cleared out and out came Weirdwolf, Mindwipe, Skullcruncher, and Zarak, who was now in a green and purple armor that made him appear taller than the other Headmasters beside him.
"This council has been disbanded," Zarak declared as Sokka got up to see the Headmasters in front of him.
"On who's authority?" Sokka asked.
"Mine," Zarak bluntly answered before pointing his charged blaster rifle at him and firing. The blast hit Sokka dead on and not only killed him instantly, but also disintegrated his flesh and organs, leaving only his skeleton, which hit the wall due to the force of the laser blast, shattering it into pieces.
"SOKKA!" Aang and Toph shouted at the same time, shocked at what had just happened to one of their best friends.
"The rest of you will be tried, and punished accordingly," Zarak continued before Mindwipe flew above the crowd and began chanting once again.
"ypeels yrev yreV, ypeels yrev yreV," he chanted, before everyone else in the courtroom suffered the same fate as the the guards outside and fell to the ground, unconscious. Then Zarak slowly walked over to Aang.
"That is, except for you Avatar," he said to his unconcious body. "You shall join your Water Tribe friend into oblivion, and then, nothing shall stand in my way!" He then raised his shield, ready to decapitate him, when Aang's eyes shot open, glowing white with anger along with his arrow tattoo, much to Zarak's shock, as he airbended him through the wall and propelled himself towards him.
"Do not worry Commander Zarak," Skullcruncher said. "We zhall assist you!" The three Headmasters were about to charge toward Aang, only to hear sirens in the distance. The trio then turned and saw Prowl, leading a group of Autobot Elite Guard members.
"Take care of them Mindwipe!" Weirdwolf ordered.
"Do zhis Mindvipe, do zhat Mindwipe, vhy am I always ze one doing everything!?" Mindwipe remarked before beginning to chant once again. "ypeels yrev yreV, ypeels yre-"
"Ah, shut up!" Prowl responded before transforming and kicking him to the ground. Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher tried to get the drop on him, only for Blurr to speed in and take them down in a snap.
Meanwhile, Zarak was busy shielding himself the earth projectiles Aang sent toward him, before launching a flash grenade, blinding Aang momentarily. All he could hear was a crumbling noise. Once Aang could finally see again, all he could see was a massive hole where Zarak use to be. Then Aang felt a rumble from the ground, and behind him, Zarak, now in the form of a large Cybertronian scorpion, launched upward from the ground, and grabbed Aang with one of his claws. Aang fortunately was able to airbend the claw open and Aang moved away, atop an air ball, from Zarak's giant tail, which attempted to jab him, before Aang firebended a massive fire ball at Zarak as he transformed into his robot mode, causing the armor to short circuit, and for him to collapse on one knee while Aang circled him, still atop his air ball. Suddenly, Aang gasped in pain as his body forcefully lurched forward and fell to the ground. Aang could barely turn around to see Yakone standing behind him, his hair a slight mess.
"This time, I'm going to put you to sleep for good!" he declared as he moved his arms around, causing Aang's body to twist unaturaly, and for him to scream in agony, when Zarak stood up and fired a laser blast to get Yakone's attention.
"He is mine to destroy bloodbender!" he declared.
"Over my dead body!" Yakone responded.
"As you wish..." Zarak replied with a sadistic smirk on his face, before Aang's eyes suddenly flashed into the Avatar State, freeing him of Yakone's control, before encasing said bloodbender in stone, and turning to Zarak, who readied himself for Aang's onslaught, charging towards him with his shield in one hand and his blaster in another, before a laser blast suddenly came in and hit Zarak's armor dead on, destroying it, much to his shock. Aang then flashed out of the Avatar State and saw Optimus Prime standing there, smoke coming out of his blaster.
"I came as fast as I could when I heard the distress signal," Optimus said as Kup and Brawn subdued Zarak. "Are you alright Aang?"
"I'm fine Optimus...but..." Aang answered before his head lowered as tears started to form in his eyes. Optimus' optics widened as he ran over to the courthouse. Then, Aang turned to face Yakone, placing his right hand on his forehead and his left hand on his chest.
"As for you Yakone, I'm taking away your bending...for good," Aang declared while Yakone could just gasp in shock as Aang's arrows and eyes flashed.
Meanwhile, Optimus burst through the courthouse's doors, concerned for his human friends, to see Toph oh her knees, crying while Ironhide kneeled down to try and comfort her, Blurr apprehending the three other Headmasters, the entire courtroom a mess, but worst of all, a crumbled skeleton at the back of the room. He then turned to see four council members being asked questions about the incident by Prowl.
"Where is Sokka?" he asked Prowl, to which Prowl simply lowered his head somberly. Optimus then started to piece together the puzzle, and once he figured it out, his optics widened in horror.
"No..." was all he could say as Kup and Brawn came in with Zarak, ready to send him away, when Warpath noticed.
"YOU!" he shouted as he charged over to Zarak, ripping him away from Kup and Brawn, pinning him to a wall and pummeling his face. Surprisingly, Zarak did not retaliate.
"FIGHT BACK YOU COWARD!" Warpath yelled in his face. "FIGHT BACK!" All Zarak did in response was spit in Warpath's face, glaring at him.
"Autobot scum..." he muttered while Prowl and Ironhide pulled Warpath away from Zarak as he continued shouting, trying to pull away from Ironhide and Prowl, wishing to kill the one who took his friend away from him.
Days later, Zarak and his followers' sentence was about to be carried out. Berring witness was Aang, Katara, Toph, Suki, Zuko, Optimus, Ironhide, Bumblebee and Warpath. All of them looked upon Sokka's murderer with a look of intense hatred and with tears in the humans' eyes.
"Mo Zarak of the planet Nebulos, for the crime of capital murder and multiple counts of attempted capital and first degree murder, you and insurgents are sentenced to spend the rest of your days on the wasteland planet of Charr, never to return to Earth, so no more sentiant beings will have to suffer from the likes of you," Optimus declared. "Do you have any last words?" Suddenly, Zarak stepped forward, only for him to be blocked by two Autobot drones.
"Cowards!" he yelled as he was pushed back. "You won't kill us yourself! You wouldn't dirty your hands but you'll damn us to a wasteland for all eternity! Yakone was right! You're a pack of fools! Every last one of you!" Then he set his optics on Aang.
"And you..." he began. "You think Charr will hold me forever? Oh no...I WILL return, and I WILL claim what is rightfully mine! And it won't matter where you hide your loved ones. Your wife, your children, your children's children, even if it takes me an eternity, I will find them. I WILL find them Aang...I WILL FIND THEM!" With that, an ice like substance began to rise up and encase the four Headmasters inside, before rockets shot out of the platform, sending them into space, where Cyclonus and Sixshot took notice and went after them.
With that, the vision ended, and Korra's eyes shot open in shock.
"Aang...this whole time you were trying to warn me about Tarrlok, but why are you showing me this Zarak guy?" she asked. Suddenly, she heard a door open, and from outside the box, Tarn, Vos, Helix and Kaon came down the stairs with a chair that was fit for a human. Upon hearing their footsteps, Korra grew more and more terrified.
"Oh, it will be a pleasure hearing your screams of agony Avatar," Tarn calmly said. "Soon you will learn the upper limits of the human capacity for pain, and when we are done, you will be practically be begging for us to finish you, and I, being the gentle-bot I am, will grant your wish." However, he was cut short by a sudden jolt of pain that the other DJD members felt and were forced to the wall, causing them to go into stasis.
"My life is a disaster now, thanks to you!" an all too familiar voice said to Korra.
"Tarrlock!?" Korra said, slightly shocked, before smiling smugly. "So, your little bloodbending secret's out? And by the way, I know how you bloodbent without a full moon. You're Yakone's son!"
"I was his son, but in order to win New Iacon, I had to become someone else," Tarrlock began. "My father failed because he tried to rule the city from its rotten underbelly. My plan was perfect. I was to be the city's savior. But you...you ruined EVERYTHING!"
"Tarrlock, the jig is up and you have nowhere to go," Korra responded.
"Oh no," Tarrlock smugly responded. "No, I'll escape and start a new life...and you're coming as my hostage."
"You'll never get away with this!" Korra shouted as she pounded on the metal door while Tarrlock began walking up the stairs. However, his eyes widened in shock when he saw who was waiting for him. Amon, now with an entirely silver, mechanical arm, (similar to The Winter Soldier's mechanical arm) Zarak, the Lieutenant, Cyclonus, Sixshot and two chi-blockers.
"Amon!" Tarrlock exlaimed, to which Korra's eyes widened in shock once she heard him.
"It is time for you to be equalized," Amon said as he and the others began walking towards them, but Tarrlock simply smiled smugly and got ready.
"You fools," he said. "You've never faced bending like mi-" However, a tentacle came in and grabbed him, forcing him to the ground, and from the glass ceiling came Soundwave.
"Did you really think we didn't prepare ourselves for your 'hidden' talent councilman?" Zarak asked.
"Who...who are you?" Tarrlock weakly asked.
"I...am Zarak," Zarak answered, to which Korra gasped in shock from inside the box. "And I...am New Iacon's reckoning. Amon." Upon hearing his name, Amon walked up to Tarrlock and placed his flesh hand onto his forehead, causing Tarrlock to scream and be knocked out, his bending now gone. Amon was about to pick him up when suddenly...
"YOU!" Tarn shouted, pointing to Zarak as he got his double barrel fusion cannon out. "How dare you claim the throne which once belonged to the mighty Galvatron!?"
"Please, Tarn," Zarak answered. "Galvatron is not even in the same league as myself, and if you do not comply to my command, you will face dire consequences."
"No...not if I kill you first!" Tarn shouted as he prepared to fire, only for Soundwave to grab his arms and lift them upwards until they snapped like twigs. Tarn screamed in agony before Soundwave's tentacles plunged into his chest and ripped his spark out, killing him instantly. Then Amon picked up Tarrlock over his shoulders.
"I'll take care of him," he addresses the chi-blockers and the other Decepticons. "The rest of you retrieve the Avatar. Don't underestimate her. Electrocute the box to knock her out before you open it."
"My pleasure," the Lieutenant responded while Korra's eyes widened in fear, hearing every word.
"Afterwards, take the rest of the Justice Devision, and execute them for treason," Zarak coldly added before he and Amon walked outside. Meanwhile, the others ran downstairs and the Lieutenant got his batons ready.
"It's payback time," he said before jabbing the sticks onto the bottom of the box, electrocuting it while listening to Korra's screams, not knowing that she had looped her arm band on the top part of the box, hanging above the ground. Soon the light bulb above the box exploded and the Lieutenant stopped electrocuting the box.
"Open the box," Cyclonus commanded before two Equalists walked up and opened the box, finding Korra lying down. "Tie her up." Suddenly, Korra plasted fire from her foot, filling up the room as the Equalists and Cons backed up, before Korra smalled the floor, causing it to quake and roll, throwing the Equalists and Cons off balance.
Outside, Amon was loading an unconscious Tarrlock into the back of a truck, when he heard a loud noise and turned around to see Korra bursting out of the door and running out of the house. Amon then prepared to make a move when a frightened Korra bent the snow around her and froze them into spikes, throwing them in front of Amon before he began running towards her. Upon seeing this, Korra immediately made a run for it while Amon ran after her, only for her to jump on a slope and slide down. Amon immediately stopped when the other Equalists and Cons came up to her.
"I thought I told you not to underestimate her," he coldly reminded them.
Back with Korra, she looked backwards as she snowboarded with her waterbending through the snow before tripping on a tree branch, sending her to a tree trunk and knocking her out.
Later, she felt something lick her and she awoke to find Naga looking down at her.
"Naga...you came looking for me..." Korra said as she sat up, petting her polar-bear dog's head. "Good girl."
Back at New Iacon, while the sun began to set, the group were still searching for Korra, the humans riding on Oogi and the Autobots driving through the streets, when they suddenly heard a howling sound.
"That sounds like Naga!" Mako said as Tenzin directed Oogi to the direction of the howling and the Autobots followed. Soon they found Naga carrying a limp Korra.
"Down there," Mako said as Oogi landed and the Autobots transformed.
"Korra!" Hot Rod said as the group ran up to her. "Thank Primus you're okay!"
"Where's the Justice Division?" Lin asked. "How did you get away?"
"Give her some space," Mako said as he ran up and picked Korra in his arms while Asami looked on, slightly hurt and confused.
"We were so worried," Mako said. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Korra answered with a smile before closing her eyes and resting her head against Mako's shoulder. "I'm glad you're here."
