Guys, it's updating day today. I've updated everything now. Woo.

Disclaimer: I don't own MR.

Max POV

I was back in the Hummer. The kids were 'ooing and ahhing' over the scenery. I looked over at Fang.

"We should take them out into the countryside more. I think they'd like that." He looked over at me and squeezed my hand.

"I think you're right," He replied, glancing at them in the rearview mirror. "Alright, we're here!" He announced as he swung the car into a dirt parking lot.

"That's Grandma's car!"

"Yes it is, Ash, she's already here with Auntie Ella and Uncle Davis," I said to the other little boy. I vaguely wondered what Ash was short for.

Fang parked the car, and we began unbuckling car seats and unloading everything we had packed.

I awoke with a start in a pool chair. Fang's hand was on my shoulder. I looked up at him quizzically.

"Time to go upstairs. Angel says there are some tourists coming down in the elevator right now," he said quietly. I nodded, stood up, and pulled my t-shirt and shorts back on. The rest of the flock was doing the same. We got to the elevator right as a large group of tourists were coming out and heading to the pool.

"Well at least we got a few hours," Angel said cheerfully. The others agreed.

We all went back to Fang and my hotel room, where I happily forced my flock into hot showers.

I was still dwelling on my dream when Fang came out of the bathroom and sat down next to me on the edge of the bed. I was watching the rest of the flock once again devour crazy amounts of room service.

"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked quietly. I half-heartedly smiled at him.

"For the ninth time, Fang, I'm fine. It's not a big deal." His eyes narrowed infinitesimally and I could tell he wasn't going to drop this.

"I've never seen you this out of it before. The kids are going to notice too." I knew he was right. I needed to snap out of this. It was just a reoccurring, hyper realistic dream after all, right?

But I definitely didn't want to talk about it right now.

"I'm going to go take a shower," I murmured and went into the bathroom.

Don't ignore it, Max. Seriously? Can't I relax in a nice shower without something harassing me?

What, Voice? I responded angrily.

The dreams are trying to tell you something.

Like?

Maybe you should go find the places you've been dreaming about. What did that even mean? I'm supposed to go searching for a beach house and a park in the countryside? I didn't even remotely know where they were.

Then pay close attention, Max.

To what? What do I need to pay close attention to? The voice didn't respond.

I sighed heavily and shut off the water. I grabbed a towel and stepped out.

I wiped a space on the mirror and looked at myself. It wasn't quite like the dream. My hair was a wet and tangled disarray, flopping in my face, and I'd aged a lot since the last time I looked in a mirror. But being on the run does that to a person.

I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts and started to attempt to untangle the mess on the top of my head.

When I came out of the bathroom everyone was standing up to go to bed. I held my fist out and we all tapped fists before everyone started to disperse. Iggy and Nudge said goodnight and walked out together, her arm looped through his and her head on his shoulder. I decided now was not the time to ask about that one. Angel grabbed my hand and led me back toward her and Gazzy's room to tuck her in.

As I turned off the lamp next to her bed, she turned toward me.

"Max?"

"Mm?"

"Do you think we'll always be on the run? Because I really like having a bed, and a room, even if I have to share it with Gazzy." My heart broke as I looked down at her, snuggled into a big, plush bed, with the comforter pulled up to her chin.

"No, baby, we're going to have a home again." Gazzy walked into the room then and sat down on his bed.

"Really Max? We're going to have home?" He asked, blue eyes as wide as I had ever seen them. I stood up and went over to him, pulling the sheets back and tucking him in as well.

"Someday we will, Gaz."

"What do you think it'll be like, Max?" He asked. I smoothed his hair gently off of his forehead. Sometimes I think I forget just how young they are- still young enough to be tucked in at night.

"Yeah, tell us, Max? What'll it look like?" Angel asked. I took a deep breath. What would I tell them?

A story. I'd tell them a story, something to dream about and wish for.

"Well, it will be big. Big enough that everyone gets their own room, and a big bed all to themselves." I saw Gazzy's eyes light up. "There will always be good food to eat in the fridge and plenty of space to run around and fly over in the back." My voice was starting to shake and tears were welling up. "It won't be in a big city, it'll be away from things, our own little hideaway, where we can stay. Forever." I saw both of their eyes starting to close.

"That sounds perfect," Gazzy said with a yawn.

"Yeah, the best. I love you, Max," Angel said, sleepily. I carefully planted a kiss on each of their foreheads and shut off the last light. I quietly closed the door and walked back into my room.

But as I shut the door and leaned against it, trying to control myself, Fang saw me.

"Max? Are the kids down?" I didn't respond, I was staring at a spot on the ceiling, trying not to cry. "Max? What-?" And that's when my knees buckled and fell against him, the tears starting to flow.

"Angel asked me if we'd always be on the run. And then Gazzy walked in, and they wanted to know about a home, so I described one. And they looked so happy, so excited. I just want them to always be like that." I said into his chest. I felt him nod and his arms tightened around me.

"One day we'll find a home, Max. I promise."
