WOOOWWW... Been a while. I'm so sorry for not posting anytime earlier... I don't have an excuse. Honestly, I completely forgot about FanFiction. I'm working on stories again. I'm going to update Really Real next, maybe Change, and try to get this story going again.
Bananu's P.O.V
"As simple distraction could be the end of your life…" Dororo's words repeated in my head, nerving me. I ran across the rooftops of houses lightly, going to the Hinata's house again. I was a few minutes late as dropped down into the backyard. I yelped as gunshots fired towards me, and quickly went against the ground, rolling out of the way.
"Tardiness is unacceptable! A soldier can never be late on the battlefield, where it's life or death. You make it late to a partner in battle-" He threw a grenade to me, and I caught it, hesitating before recognizing what it was and throwing it away.
"-And BOOM! You're both dead." It exploded in the air a few feet away, enough to knock me to the ground but not hurt me too badly. Had he been trying to kill me?!
'Keep your guard up,' I thought to myself. Standing and wiping myself off as I looked at Giroro, dark green eyes hard with determination. He said, walking over to me, "Always keep your guard up. I gave you approximately five seconds to dismantle that. Granted, you threw it away, but by the end of your training with me you'll be expected to dismantle it and recreate it."
I nodded once. "Stand tall, shoulders back, chin up. Feet together, hands at your sides. This is when you shut up and listen. So… when you relax, and you're hanging around… And I call, "ATTENTION!," this is how you will stand." He walked back and forth in front of me, and my eyes followed him.
"Yes, sir." I stood as he told me, never arguing back. He smiled, seeming pleased. "Today, we're going to begin simple. We'll learn about war strategy."
That sounded boring, but it was war so it couldn't be too boring. I nodded as I listened to him go on to explain the different types of war strategy.
He talked forever, but he kept it interesting. He did a brief, quick description of each offensive strategy. Then went on to defensive. There were less but still many. He spoke fast and finished, saying, "-You must know these for future drills and fights. Got it?"
"Y-Yes sir!" How could I possibly remember all of those?
"Good." He stopped his pacing and stood in front of me, "We will be practicing these types of strategies every week." I nodded somewhat nervously, looking down.
"Head up, soldier, eyes forward." I did as he said. "As a soldier never let your guard down. During a battle, anyone could be an enemy and turn on you. Do not, DO NOT, friend your enemies."
"Giroro!" I heard a voice call from inside, and looked over at the glass doors, as did Giroro, who blushed brightly.
"U-Um, yeah?" He blushed brighter and his attitude seemed to change as a pink-haired human came to the door.
"I made some sandwiches for lunch if you want one." She smiled at him, and I looked to Giroro, who had this strange look on his face. Was he sweating?
"U-Uh, o-okay, thanks, Natsumi!" He cleared his throat, "I-I'll get one later!"
She nodded, smiling pleasantly, and left. I looked to Giroro again, who stared after her, blushing hard. I grinned and glomped his back, pinning him to the ground as he struggled. "Never let your guard down, soldier!"
"G-Get off your superior!" He struggled, frustrated.
"Never, EVER, friend your enemy!" I mocked his low, gruff voice, and grinned. His hands reached behind him and gripped my arms, tossing me over his head like a ragdoll.
He firmly put one foot on my wrist, the other on my stomach, like he had conquered me or something. He looked down at me, a fang showing as he smirked, "Same goes for you. I admire your boldness, though in the future, don't do such a thing to your superiors. Understood?"
I nodded, smiling up at him some. He got off me and offered a hand. I took it thankfully and got up, brushing dirt off myself again. I looked at him and wondered…
Giroro's P.O.V.
What was it?! What was it about her that seemed so familiar to him? He watched her as she brushed herself off, and then met his eyes.
There was a silence between them for a few seconds, as the two stood lost in thought… Then Giroro asked, "Have I met you before? Before yesterday?"
She paused a moment, and looked at him, looking him over with a somewhat cautious, wary look before turning away, "No."
"Why so wary?" He pressed. Why was she always lying to him? Did she not trust him? Was she perhaps a spy of some sort, watching the platoon?
"I'm wondering if you're going to throw another grenade at me is all."
Giroro paused. It made sense but he felt like that wasn't it. He let it go, and laughed, "No. Your training is done for today." Bananu relaxed some, and grinned. He pat her on the back once, "Go get a sandwich." She nodded and went inside.
So, of course, it was a short chapter... It was nearly three pages on google docs though so I thought it'd be longer. Next chapter coming soon hopefully. Stay with me, and keep on the lookout for my other stories. Next up is Really Real.
