I Missed You

There was silence as the two teenagers stared at each other.

"I- I thought you were dead!" Midorima pointed an accusing finger towards Kuroko, who was taken aback by the sudden revelation.

"D- Dead?" Kuroko asked back, his eyes wide but shock clear in his voice.

"Well you just stopped coming out to see me when I came over and every time I asked Akashi he said you just refused to see me!" Midorima then shut his mouth and looked away, a ting of pink dusting his cheeks. "Not that I was sad or anything… course not…" he murmured silently, not to show that he cared, Kuroko snickered.

"Midorima-kun is still such a tsun tsun," Kuroko cracked a smile as he giggled.

"I am not!" the tall green haired male answered back annoyed. "Wait but… where's Akashi, what are you doing here?" Midorima asked, this was after all an arcade, not exactly the hanging place of Akashi, or himself for the matter.

"Oh about that…" Kuroko seemed to start hesitating as to what to say and the smile was replaced for a frown.

"Oi! Kuroko! Don't get lost you idiot! You're hard to find!" Midorima recognized that voice clearly.

"Kagami?" Midorima looked up to see Akashi's cousin, Kagami walking towards them.

"Oh, Midorima, hi," he lifted his hand to wave at him, then looked down at Kuroko. "Kuroko, is this tsundere bothering you?" Kagami asked worriedly.

"I'm not a tsundere!" he yelled madly, gritting his teeth in annoyance. Kuroko shook his head towards Kagami.

"I met Midorima-kun when I was little and he would lend me really good books to read, but then I stopped seeing him because of him," Kuroko answered Kagami, who's eyes slightly darkened in anger of thinking about his cousin.

"Oh," was all that Kagami answered, draping his arm across Kuroko's shoulders he turned to Midorima, who was wide-eyed at the two's proximity. "Can you keep this meeting a secret? We can't have Akashi know Kuroko was out of the house,"

"Huh? Why?" Midorima asked, crossing his arms, this time Kuroko spoke up.

"Midorima-kun, I need to confess something to you," Midorima's expression became serious as he looked between Kuroko and Kagami.

"Are you… cheating on Akashi?" Midorima asked. Kagami couldn't resist the strong laugh that came out from how serious Midorima had sounded while saying that, eventually Kuroko elbowed his side.

"Goddammit Kuroko! For such small build you have killer elbows!" Kagami whined, clutching his side in pain. Kuroko smiled at him, and then turned to Midorima, who was fuming in anger at Kagami's attitude.

"Midorima-kun, it is something a little more serious than that…" Kuroko answered. "Midorima-kun, can you keep a secret?" it felt like déjà vu, the way Kuroko was looking up at him with big eyes and a serious expression.

Midorima Shintarou had come to the Akashi household to see his friend Akashi, and most specially Kuroko, someone he considered maybe a 'best' friend, not that he would admit that… that day, Midorima and Kuroko had been walking in the garden talking about school and stuff until they came to rest under the shade of a big tree. Waiting for Sakurai to bring some refreshments and snacks.

"Midorima-kun," Kuroko began, Midorima turned to the smaller, petite boy, who was looking down at the grass.

"What's wrong Kuroko, are you in pain?" Midorima asked worriedly, Kuroko shook his head, clutching at the fabric near his heart.

"It's something more serious than that…" Kuroko answered. "Midorima-kun, can you keep a secret?" Midorima felt the need to gulp, this would be the first time a friend would have entrusted him with a secret.

"Y- Yes, I'll keep your secret," Midorima promised. Kuroko looked up at him with big eyes and a serious expression.

"Midorima-kun, Akashi-kun kissed me," there was silence. "I thought I liked Akashi-kun but after that kiss, I noticed I can only ever love him as a brother… but… he doesn't like that…" Kuroko looked away. "I'm scared." Midorima had not been sure on how to respond, setting for silence. Eventually, Kuroko smiled and rested his head on his shoulder, changing the topic completely.

"Y- Yes, I'll keep your secret," Midorima promised. Kuroko smiled and Kagami let out an irritated sigh. They walked to a more private place and there, Kuroko entrusted him with the whole story of what had happened since he stopped seeing him. Midorima's heart felt as if it was being clenched tightly and anger burned in his eyes, Kagami seemed to experience the same feelings, as he stood to the side to give them space.

"That bastard," Midorima muttered silently, clenching an unclenching his fist. He brought up his hand, Kuroko noticed it still neatly wrapped in tape and smiled fondly, Midorima fixed his glasses. "So what are you planning to do?"

"Escape," Kagami answered, Midorima scrunched up his nose.

"Idiot, Akashi will find you faster than what you can run, and that can be dangerous towards you and more specially Kuroko, since he's the one suffering most from Akashi's sick obsession," Midorima lectured the tiger, who found himself nodding.

"Well, now you're in our boat too so, let's make sure we keep Kuroko safe," Kagami said, grabbing Midorima's shoulder and giving it a squeeze.

"Midorima-kun is going to help?" Kuroko asked, at first, Midorima wanted to refuse, Akashi himself was a problem and he did not want to deal with him on his back but upon seeing Kuroko's face he gulped and nodded.

"Not cause I care or anything but because it is within my own law that I make sure everyone has justice!" he said, mostly to himself, because the other two knew him a little too well, in fact, Midorima could be quite simple.

"Well, we're going back now, so I'll contact you soon," Kagami said, grabbing Kuroko's smaller hand in his and reddening slightly, Kuroko bowed at Midorima, and then let go of Kagami's hand and hugged the taller male quickly, a small smile on his lips and a baffled Midorima.

"I missed you," he said silently, Midorima gulped.

"Yeah, me too," he answered, with a crooked smile. Kagami snickered at his admittance. Kuroko grabbed Kagami's hand again, and waved goodbye, the two leaving.
