Time seemed to pass quickly as Chihiro laid down collecting her thoughts. She tried to process what had happened with Haku. "He almost kissed me," she whispered softly, her face turning slightly red.
As she stared at the ceiling she heard a slight knock at the door. "Chihiro, we better leave now. We don't want to be late," Haku's voice called from the other side of the door.
"Alright," Chihiro heaved a sigh as she got up and met with Haku in the living room. "Ready to go?" she asked.
Haku simply nodded, and they began to make their way towards the third floor. They walked through the many corridors in silence, the awkwardness filling the air around them. The halls were quiet as they walked, and no one was in sight.
"Were is everyone?" Chihiro asked suddenly.
Haku seemed worried. "I don't know, I know a good amount of people who don't go to gamble on their nights off."
Chihiro could see how concerned Haku was. "Maybe they just went to bed early," she tried to comfort him.
As they were speaking there was a sudden explosion, loose wood paneling falling all around them. Haku immediately brought Chihiro close to him and covered her head. Soon, there were explosions one after another, they never seemed to end. "We have to get out of here!" Haku yelled over the blasts.
Chihiro looked up at him, fear written across her face. "We have to go and get Hikari, we can't leave her here!"
"I need to get you out, you are my top priority!" Haku argued back.
As Chihiro looked at him her eyes began to fill with tears, she didn't want anything to happen to anyone, especially Hikari.
"Okay, but you must hold on to me, do not let go, no matter what," Haku's voice was serious, so serious that it made even more fear wash over Chihiro.
Chihiro wrapped her arms around Haku's waist as tight as she could, she didn't intend to let go. Haku tightly gripped her waist. He looked down at her, seeing how truly frightened she was. "Alright," he said as he began to zoom through the air, constantly dodging the falling debris.
As Chihiro clung to Haku she glued her eyes shut, focusing all of her energy on not letting go. The explosions grew louder and louder, the shaking and destruction of the bath house growing as they got closer and closer to the room where they held the poker games. Chihiro could hear everyone screaming, panic filling the air.
Haku frantically searched through the running crowd, trying to pinpoint Hikari's location. "Hikari!" He yelled. "Hikari, where are you!"
Fire began to consume the building around them, the bath house was beginning to collapse. Suddenly, Haku heard someone calling out for help. "Help, please someone help me! My leg is stuck!" the voice cried.
Haku did a complete three-sixty before he finally spotted Hikari lying on the ground, her leg stuck under a wooden beam. "Hikari!" Haku rushed over to her. "We need to get out of here!"
Hikari looked up at Haku. She was in immense pain, but she still managed to keep her sarcastic personality intact. "No kidding! I thought we were going to stay and have tea. Of course we need to get out of here, now get this damn thing off of my leg!" she screamed.
Haku looked all around, desperately trying to find a way to help Hikari. "Okay, I'm going to have my winds lift the beam off of your leg, but I won't be able to hold it for long. Chihiro, I need you to grab her as fast as you can, and then hold on to me again, got it?"
Chihiro looked at the both of them and then nodded, her mind set on saving Hikari. The bath house was falling to pieces around them, they didn't have much time. Haku closed his eyes, his mind concentrating on calling his winds. Suddenly, wind began to blow all around them, taking the fire with it. Chihiro shielded her eyes, and then returned her gaze to Hikari. The beam was floating over her.
"Now!" Haku yelled.
Chihiro quickly grabbed onto Hikari, and drug her out. As soon as Haku saw that both girls were safe he grabbed onto the both of them, and flew out of the building as fast as he could.
After dodging falling pieces of the bath house left and right they finally made it to the bridge where Haku put both of the girls down. All three of them watched in horror as the bath house burnt down to ash, and began to turn into nothing.
Chihiro buried her face into Haku's chest as she sobbed quietly. A look of pure hatred covered Hikari's face. "Whoever did this is going to pay!" she bellowed as her eyes began to flood with tears.
All three of them were covered in ash, most of their clothing burnt. "Come on," Haku stated. "We need to get out of here. We don't know what or who did this so we have to get out of the area."
Both girls nodded as Haku turned into a dragon, and turned so they could climb onto him. Hikari and Chihiro took one last look at the burning bath house as they climbed onto Haku and flew away, both slightly crying.
