A.N: Once a upon a time, there was a new reader of the Gintama manga. This new reader read the first thirty chapters, and fell in love with the pairing Okita/Hijikata much to the displeasure of her new friends. She also found the Un-love challenge prompts on tumblr. She read the chapters featuring Mitsuba, and fall in love with Hijikata/Mitsuba. Then she got to the Jigsaw Arc, and fell completely out of love of the pair Okita/Hijikata. It got so bad, Okita fell to the bottom of the likeable ladder. Now over a year later, the reader is posting what she has written for Un-love.

I'm standing at Mitsuba's gravestone, eating spicy crackers. It's been a year since her death, and all I could think about was Mitsuba. Of her gentle smile, the private jokes, and those summer nights that we would cuddle without anyone knowing. I knew back then she would die young, but I didn't want her to suffered through my death. So I pushed her away. Maybe, just maybe I could have stayed with her instead of leaving with Kondou and Sougo.

"What are you doing here?"

I turn my head to look briefly at Sougo then turn back at to the grave. I could feel the heated, angry eyes on my back as I study the stone.

"Hijikata, I asked you a question." There was the sound of him pulling out his bazooka, behind me.

"Visiting Mitsuba. Don't get angry, or you will show your bad side to her." I could hear Sougo clenching his teeth, and the bazooka hitting the ground. He walk to stand next to me. For the next few minutes, there was quiet. In the end, Sougo broke the silence.

"It's hard to think Mitsuba-nee is really gone. I keep thinking she is back home, waiting for us." I listen to the slight childness in his voice. It hard sometimes to think that Sougo is younger than the rest of us. I hold out the crackers to him, and I heard him take one.

"I know it's hard, Sougo. Maybe one day..."

"It will never be okay. She will never come back."

The silence was almost deafening, as we stood there eating the crackers. When I first met Sougo, Sougo said I would break Mitsuba's heart. And he was right.
