AN: Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated this story lately but I had surgery and I had writers block.
Epilogue:
1 year later December 23
Kitty was baking.
The smell of cookies and apple pie were in the air.
Laurie came in the kitchen. "Hi mom, smells good."
Laurie went to sneak a cookie but Kitty slapped her hand.
Laurie exclaimed "ouch mom!"
Kitty grinned "you have to wait like everyone else."
Laurie huffed.
Kitty said "did you finish putting up the stockings?"
Laurie nodded "before you ask I even put up Rachel's."
Kitty smiled.
She knew finding out that she had a sister was hard on her but thankfully she was trying to get to know Rachel.
Red had talked to Laurie and explained to her that she didn't have to compete with Rachel.
Kitty was trying to get everything ready for Rachel's arrival.
She wanted everything to be perfect for their first Christmas together.
'Honk, Honk!'
Kitty looked outside and saw Rachel's car.
Laurie sighed "this will be interesting."
Kitty glared at Laurie and said "Laurie be nice!"
They walked outside to greet her.
Kitty hugged her and said "welcome I'm so glad you're spending Christmas with us! Red will be excited to see you. He's in the living room."
Rachel smiled she was glad Kitty was happy she was here.
Rachel was nervous about this but Kitty made her feel loved.
She looked at Laurie "hi."
Laurie decided to be civil "hello."
Rachel could tell Laurie wasn't thrilled so she let her be and followed Kitty to the living room.
Rachel saw Red and smiled.
Red said "it's good to see you Rachel!"
Surprisingly, he hugged her.
Laurie was stunned.
She folded her arms and stomped down to the basement.
Eric, Steven, and the rest of the kids were hanging out.
Laurie said "Rachel is here."
The kids ran up the stairs.
Laurie sat down and rolled her eyes.
She really was trying but this was a lot to take in even for her.
In the living room the kids were talking to Rachel.
Red noticed Laurie's absence "Where is Laurie?"
"In the basement."
Red sighed and glanced at Kitty.
She nodded and watched him leave.
Red saw Laurie sitting on the couch.
"Laurie?"
She jumped and said "shouldn't you be up there with your other daughter?"
He sighed "Laurie i thought you were going to try and get along with Rachel?"
She smiled and said "but daddy I am. I said hello."
He rolled his eyes.
He said "Laurie please try and be nice to her...for me."
Laurie sighed.
He said "honey I told you she could never take your place."
Laurie looked at him and said "promise?"
He smiled and hugged her "I promise. Now, let's go upstairs and try and steal some cookies."
Laurie laughed "mom will kill us...let's do it!"
6:00 p.m.
They sat at the table and Red looked around the room.
He saw his beautiful wife who was trying to stop Eric and Laurie from arguing.
He saw Steven and Rachel grinning.
He knew he had so much to be thankful for and it was all thanks to his lovely wife Kitty.
