Chapter 10-final

"You mean, you're allowing us to stay?" Regulus asked.

Shun nodded. "As long as you have these rings they will keep you here in this time with the current Gold Saints and Athena." he answered.

"Why would you do something like this for us?" Rasgado asked.

"Because I was once a saint for Athena. I've seen how much it upsets her to lose just one saint. It would break her heart to have all of you here for just a few hours only to have to see you leave and never to be seen again. This way, she won't have to go through that pain again and all of you can be around to live your lifes again."

"You're a pretty neat guy." Regulus declared with his ring already on his right ring finger and received strange and confused looks from his comrades.

Being the youngest of the past Gold Saints, Regulus was more innocent than them and tended to be more naive about things. It caused him to not be as judgemental as the others as well yet at the same time the others thought of it as signs of immaturity that their youngest hadn't grown out of yet.

"Don't look at me like that." The young Leo declared. "Tell me what would make him want to keep two set of Gold Saints in this world for his own reasons."

The others turned their eyes away from their youngest knowing he had a point.

"Doesn't this scene seem familiar." Shaka said looking toward Aioria.

"I'm not the youngest. Sir pranks-a-lot over there is." The current Leo said jerking his thumb in Milo's direction.

Shun chuckled at the current Gold Saints. It seemed Seiya and the others have been around them too long.

"Back to the subject," Degel said. "Why give us this great chance?"

"Like I said, I wouldn't want to see Athena upset over lossing her Gold Saints again in another life time. She already had enough of that over the years of fighting and then one of them leaving for another reason." Shun replied.

Another reason?

The minds of the previous Gold Saints remembered what they had been told about the young teen before them. They remembered hearing from Athena and the others that she had been so upset when he had become the fully revived deity he is now and had to leave sainthood.

"Can we trust you on this?" Albifica asked greatly admiring his ring wishing to have it on his finger like Regulus.

"You can but it's up to you if you wish to take that step or not." Shun answered. "Just know that if you don't and when the twenty four hours are over, your souls will return to where they came and Athena will once again have to see all of you leave. Do you think she can handle seeing that again?"

"Was this your intention all along?" Degel asked.

Shun merly smiled leaving them to wonder if he had planned this all along.

[1 year later]

Party poppers went off and streamers and confetti fell onto those who were near them.

"Happy anniversary!" Seiya cheered wearing a party hat.

"Pop one of those next to me again and I'll kill you Tenma." Kardia warned.

"No you won't."

"Yes I will."

"No you won't."

Degel chuckled at the two as he walked from them to Camus who was watching Milo interact with some of the previous saints who had remained with them in Sanctuary over the past year.

Today was the one year anniversary that the Gold Saints from the past first came into the current time and the same day they were allowed to stay using special rings given to them by the one who had allowed them to be alive again.

Degel looked at his gold ring that was given to him by the young ruler of the Underworld. He wore it on his right ring finger everyday and kept it on nearly all day. The only time the ring wasn't on his finger was if his hands were about to get wet or he was training.

Over the year they had come to learn to completely trust the former Andromeda saint.

After Shun had given the previous Gold Saints their gold rings, the past men had decided to give him a chance and they quickly learned that he was indeed very trustworthy.

The raven haired deity was among them in the room with the Three Judges at his side. The three specters had come to trust the saints as well but they were still very cautious when it came to their young lord's safety. They were almost at his side more than his own shadow.

A bigger surprise was when Rhadamanthy and Minos made amends to Kardia and Albifica for what happened in the past. It surely wasn't expected by anyone when that happened but it was dealt with and now the two saints would be seen talking to the judges every now and then.

Out of everyone, Athena was the happiest to see her saints still with her. She was eternally grateful to Shun for allowing them to stay with her. The previous saints would be her body guards if she ever left the palace and there was always three of them with her.

The people around the Sanctuary had been the most shocked to find out who the past saints were and how they got to the current time but still accepted them and honored them as if they still wore the gold cloths they once had.

Someone clinging on a glass caused everyone to quiet down and turn to Kardia.

"I'd like to say something." He said. "My friends and I have been revived and for the past year we've been allowed to stay in Sanctuary with Athena. None of it would be possible without our guest of honor. I'd just like to say, thank you Lord Shun for allowing us to return to Athena's side."

Glasses were raised as everyone agreed to Kardia's speech.

Like Athena, the saints were grateful to Shun for allowing them to have another chance at life and be with their goddess and new friends.
