Chapter 10: Aichi give up...
The brunette was concerned by the smaller boy's panic, slightly wondering if taking him had been a mistake.
"Whoa Kai, wait up!"
Miwa called as he chased after his friend who was chasing another one of his friends.
The blue haired boy glanced back to see the two older teens then picked up the pace, surprising the both of them.
"I didn't think Aichi could run that fast"
The blond puffed, as the two followed the smaller boy around a corner.
"He's probably had lots of practice..."
The brunette replied grimly as he remembered how the small boy used to be bullied.
"I see... Wait, where'd he go?!"
The blond called as the two skidded to a halt and looked around confused.
The brunette narrowed his eyes at a garbage can and slowly walked towards it, he moved it to reveal the small boy hiding behind it.
"..."
"..."
Jade and sapphire gazed strongly at the other.
The blond was the one to break the silence when he tripped over a bottle.
"Aichi what are you doing?..."
The brunette asked, wondering if this was how the smaller boy kept evading him.
"What does it look like?"
Aichi huffed, startling the older teens with his change in demeanour.
"It looks like you're hiding a big secret"
"Secrets are meant to be kept"
The smallest boy replied sharply, the brunette felt uneasy when he saw the swirling emotions within sapphire orbs.
"Yes but they also exist to be broken Aichi..."
The brunette replied softly as he offered his hand to help the smaller boy up. Aichi's eyes narrowed at the ground before he shook his head.
"No, I'm staying here until you guys leave..."
"Aren't you already late though?"
The blond asked, as he wiped some dirt off of himself that appeared when he tripped.
The youngest boy bit his lip uneasily before shutting his eyes.
"I'll live..."
The last part was whispered so softly that the brunette just barely heard it.
"What did you just say?..."
Aichi puffed out his cheeks like a child and liked away, ignoring the older male.
"Miwa, can you go find out where Aichi lives so that I can talk to his mother?"
Sapphires shot a shocked gaze towards the brunette, the older teen met the gaze with a firm gaze of his own.
"Do you have a problem Aichi?"
The younger boy narrowed his eyes slightly at the brunette before nodding.
"Yes, don't tell my mom"
"I won't if you tell me what's up with you lately"
The brunette replied softly, noting the unease that was brimming up inside of the younger boy.
"..."
"Aichi one way or another I'm going to find out..."
Kai sighed as he crouched down to the blue haired boy's height.
"Yeah, you know Kai, and he won't give up without getting his way... So just tell us what's up Aichi"
Miwa laughed lightly, causing Aichi to shift his gaze away from the two older teens.
"My mom doesn't know so there's no point in asking her..."
The younger boy whispered softly, the brunette's lips formed into a thin frown.
"But us asking would cause her and Emi worry"
Kai replied, feeling a little bad for trapping the younger boy into a corner, in more ways than one.
"... Please... I'm fine so just... Leave me be..."
The blue haired boy's voice was little more than a whisper.
"... Your injuries aren't a figment of my imagination Aichi..."
The older teen said as he motioned towards the younger boy's injured arm.
"... Kai, Miwa..."
"Yes?"
"Yeah?"
Both older teens spoke at the same time.
"I'm sorry..."
Aichi whispered as he dug his fingers into the ground.
"Sorry? For wha- ahhhh!"
The blond's speech was cut off by his cry of surprise, the smaller boy had flung dirt into their eyes before shoving them away and running.
"Tch..."
The brunette rubbed the dirt out of his eyes quickly, however he wasn't fast enough to see which direction the smaller boy had went.
"Kai I'll go right and you go left!"
The blond called after getting dirt out of his eyes then began heading right. The other teen wordlessly nodded and took off to the left. It made the brunette feel uneasy that Aichi was desperate enough to use a lowly tactic to escape.
Kai ran for a while, once he started to run out of breath he slowed his pace. He guessed that even if the younger boy was faster, due to his size, his stamina wouldn't be superior to his own.
The brunette looked around, careful to look in every shadow and small space where the younger boy may fit, after a while when his breath returned to him he took off running once more, for Aichi's breath may have also returned to him.
The teen ran for a long while, until he turned a narrow corner, he swiftly skidded to a halt and back tracked so that he was hidden behind the turn, he had spotted who he was searching for, but he was not alone.
He tried listening in on the conversation of the two, but he couldn't quite here exactly what they were saying. However judging by the blue haired boy's timid stance, he could tell that Aichi was fearful of the other male.
The brunette quietly snuck his way closer to the two, thankful that the pathway was littered with garbage cans and astray garbage bags, some even torn open in places by the tiny animals of the night.
"I-I'm sorry!"
The brunette could now hear the voices of the two males, and see the other clearly.
"Sorry?! You're over six hours late Aichi!"
The taller male yelled, he was thin and had fierce Lapis pools and had long cerulean hair.
"I-I c-can explain..."
The younger boy's whisper was edged with fear as he held up his hands. The brunette stayed in place, knowing that he needed to observe if he were to learn about Aichi's situation.
