Invisible Paradise
Let's begin our story in a world within worlds. A realm with a light of its own, yet darkness seems to be prevalent everywhere.
This is the Schatten Bereich, or the Shadow Realm if translated from the German language.
It is a realm that was first created as a refuge for Quincy after their defeat in the first major war with an army known as the Gotei 13. There, the Quincy Emperor Yhwach led the remnants of his people who chose to follow him into isolation. This dimension wouldn't be reachable by those who weren't given permission from the Emperor.
The rest of the remnants of the Quincy people chose to remain in the human world in while still hiding and living their normal lives.
A lone man in his late teens stood on the roof side of one of the taller buildings of the city. Looking down from his view point he saw many people going about their daily lives as normal as they could be.
This teenager had bright, orange spiky hair that could stand out as the sun. This was pointed out to him by his colleagues much to his annoyance.
He wore a white military uniform that resembled a trench coat with a hood. He also wore military boots as they could be seen from underneath the trench coat.
This is Ichigo Kurosaki, a Sternritter. He earned the position after proving himself worthy enough of being granted a letter from the Emperor of the Vandenreich. His abnormal growth as a fighter was astounding as others observed from his early teens.
Today was just another normal day for him. Well, as normal as it goes in the world of the supernatural.
'Sigh... another peaceful day with no crazy shenanigans.' Ichigo thought to himself.
Fate proved him wrong as he looked down at a commotion brewing below.
It would appear to be a mob chasing after one individual.
Said mob composed mostly of females and their respective boyfriends as they chased down a brown-haired boy who looked to be 16.
"You pervert, get your divine punishment!"
"Like hell, I'll let you get away with peeping on my girlfriend ya bastard!"
"Flay him until he begs for mercy and then we hang upside down from a skyscraper!"
"You can't stop the determination of the harem king!" One Issei Hyoudou declared as he ran from the mob.
He made left turn down the street.
Only to find himself at a dead end, how funny.
His mistake led to a massive one sided beating that would leave its mark for days.
Issei Hyoudou pathetically crawled his way out of the alley as he always have been doing.
"And the pervert done it again. Let's add that to the infinite times he pursued his perverted dreams.' Ichigo thought casually.
Shaking his head in exasperation, Ichigo left the area through the Hirenkyaku technique to find a more quiet area.
He landed somewhere on the ground level far away from where the pervert got beaten up.
The smell and low sound of cookies and sweets being eaten drew his attention.
He turned his head and saw two familiar girls who looked to be middle school students.
One has short blonde hair and wore a uniform that has slight resemblance to Ichigo's. She continued eating cookies with a neutral expression as her companion does the same. This is Lilotto Lamperd, a fellow Sternritter peer of Ichigo with a power that Ichigo found quite disturbing.
Her companion has short white hair and hazel eyes that almost seemed cat-like at first glance. She wore a black hoodie that seemed to stretch below her waist as the hoodie has features of a cat's head. Underneath the hoodie she wore a simple black and white striped t-shirt and skirt. This is Shirone Toujou.
Shirone was not a Quincy, in fact she's a completely different species known as the Nekomata.
Normally, those who aren't even Quincy related by blood at all wouldn't be accepted at all into the Schatten Bereich. However, after a couple centuries, Yhwach and his inner circle have become more lenient and sympathetic to other species facing similar fates to their own.
After an incident that happened a couple of years ago, a powerful species known as the Devils were afraid of the Nekomata and chose to hunt down their species to extinction.
Many of the Nekomata were mercilessly killed without a second thought. Within a few months, over ten thousands were killed and only about half that amount remained.
It would seem their species was doomed to extinction until Shirone's older sister; Kuroka Toujou met the orange-headed Sternritter by chance.
Ichigo learned of her species' plight and that she was protecting her little sister.
He became much more sympathetic at the mention of a younger sibling as he himself looked over his two younger siblings who were twin sisters.
The responsibility was very important to him due to the eccentric behavior of their father who annoyed him to no end.
Ichigo brought this case before Yhwach who was displeased that he brought an outsider without permission.
Ichigo pleaded to Yhwach to allow the Nekomata to join the Vandenreich to avoid complete genocide of their species.
Yhwach pondered over this matter with his second in command, Jugram Haschwalth.
The Sternritter Grandmaster suggested that accepting the Nekomata into the Vandenreich would in turn make them grateful for their hospitality and make them loyal enough to the Invisible Empire if given enough time and comfort.
Yhwach agreed to Ichigo's request to allow the cat-like Youkai into his domain.
At first, the Quincy people were shocked at the sudden development, but most were easily swayed by their king who gave a speech about how they should help the Nekomata from complete extinction as they did not have the luxury to go into a completely new and unknown dimension like they have.
There were many who sympathetic, especially the much older ones who had grandparents that lived through the massacre of the Quincy from the first major war with the Gotei 13.
Kuroka eagerly gathered the remaining Nekomata as well as her little sister.
They were wary since they were facing extinction, but eager at a chance to get away from the horrific slaughter of their people.
It took a few years for the Nekomata to be integrated into society at the Vandenreich.
Both Nekomata became much friendlier with the Quincy after learning that they have suffered a similar fate. A tight friendship formed among many individuals of both species.
Thus, this led to the meeting of Lilotto Lamperd and Shirone Toujou.
These two became friends or more specifically, snack friends at their first encounter with each other.
At first, it seemed that they were in a standoff about who get the snack. Then they exchanged snacks to see what the others tasted like. This continued for a little bit before they became natural friends.
Let it be known that they're quite big eaters for their size and shared a mutual love for food or sweets specifically.
Shirone had taken a liking to the orange-headed Sternritter to call him her older brother.
"Sup, Ichigo." Lilotto greeted in a neutral tone.
"Oniisan" Shirone added afterward.
"Hi, you two, I can see you're enjoying yourselves as always." Ichigo replied.
"Want some?" Lilotto held out a cookie.
"No thanks, I've already ate lunch just a while ago." Ichigo refused politely.
Lilotto shrugged indifferently as she ate the cookie she just offered to him.
"Pervert" Shirone stated in the same tone as her friend's voice.
"You mean Issei?" The older teenage Sternritter questioned.
A simple nod confirmed it.
Ichigo gave a sigh of exasperation and scratched the back of his head slightly. "The boy never learned when to quit it. He's going die lonely with lots of regrets, but knowing him, he's going to say the opposite on his deathbed."
"You could always just kill him. No one's gonna missed the little bastard." Lilotto suggested.
"Lilotto, please be mindful of that tone around Shirone. She's not as old as you, you know?" Ichigo chided her.
"Hey, it's not like she hasn't heard it before."
Shirone just gave a simple nod as she doesn't care about much at the moment besides her sweets.
"Right, right… I'll see you both later." Ichigo walked off with his hands in his pocket.
Ichigo walked toward the Silbern, the main headquarter for the Invisible Empire, to see if anything new had happened yet.
'Another day in the life of a Quincy at the Vandenreich.' Ichigo thought boredly to himself.

This is au where things happened much differently than the usual DxD universe as I have made one obvious difference here.

Yhwach sat on his throne as his second in command and Elite Sternritters stood a small distance away.
In front of him was a young man in his early thirties he hoped not to meet so soon.
This man has long light blue hair with two locked fringe that reached knee length and tied at the waist level. He wore a white and blue robe with a pendant around his neck that is a stone with a symbol. The man's eyes were heterochromic as his right iris is green and his left is gold.
Man has an air of calmness around him that spoke out his years of experience and power which unnerved some of those present in the room.
"Gentlemen, I take it I'm not welcome here?" The man stated rather than really asking.
"State your business before his majesty." Haschwalth said as the palm of hand rest on the hilt of his sword.
"Straight to the point I see, well I can appreciate that. I have a business proposition for you that will benefit both of us. In fact, it seems our goal is mutual at best." The man said with a small smile, not a grin or a smirk that some tended to wear on their faces.
"What kind of proposition?" Yhwach questioned, intrigued.
"I believe you're lacking a few Sternritters as I have seen from the recent battles that have taken place in the Underworld."
Yhwach frowned and glared at him. "Are you asking to become a Sternritter?"
"It is no big deal really, you can take back your power anytime you want and I would remain unharmed. This is just to solidify our alliance and revealed my presence to the world that the last king of Atlantis has raised from the depths of the ocean for the first time in millennia." The man answered.
"Besides, I can raise you military power quite a bit for your army and… little pets that your Jagdarmee have been adopting. In exchange, I want free, unrestricted access to Realm of Hades under my control. You may keep the Grim Reapers as they are not of my concern."
"How dare you make a demand of our emperor you insolent-" An elite Sternritter was cut off at a hand gesture from Yhwach telling him to stop.
"Forgive my outburst you majesty." The Sternritter said ashamedly.
Yhwach went into a thinking pose with his hand under his chin. He contemplated the pros and cons of the proposition.
He has come to a decision.
Yhwach stood up as the man before him smirked.
Yhwach took out a plate-like cup as his red liquid formed from a small nick on his finger. Reiatsu shone around him before enveloping the cup much to the surprise of his soldiers present.
He gave it to the man who gracefully took it and drank from it as he kneeled down.
"Rise Sternritter O, for now we have solidified our alliance. The Vandenreich and ancient Leviathan of Atlantis are now united." Yhwach declared.
The man bowed gratefully. "Thank you your majesty. I swear to you that I will aid your army in its future military endeavors. I swear this on my name as Dartz, the King of Atlantis!"
