Enjoy!

The bells were chiming and the church was full of people, mostly friends of his father, the Chief of Order. His own friends were there, sitting on the front row next to his father: Shindou Takuto, the handsome son of a famous musician, Kariya Masaki who was staring at Nishiki with a mischievous grin, Inoshishi Kirito who was having a glaring battle with his twin sister on the other side of the aisle and Yamazaki Honoka, the only girl in the little group of friends. On the other side sat Midori's friends: Sorano Aoi and Yamana Akane, both wearing their prettiest dress, Inoshishi Chikai who was kicking her brother's ass in the glaring contest with her twin and Kurotsuki Kiba who had obviously put no effort in her appearance and was sitting with her hands in the pockets of her dark blue pants. In the crowd were mostly young people like Yukimura Hyouga, Amemiya Taiyou, Matsukaze Tenma, Kurama Norihito, Minamisawa Atsushi and Kageyame Hikaru sitting next to his father

. Just before the doors of the church were closed Kirino Ranmaru stepped inside. Seeing the surprised look on the pink haired boy's face, Nishiki realized that Kirino probably had no idea that there was a wedding taking place today. Kirino's gaze met that of Nishiki, who was standing at the altar quite alone. His eyes widened and almost ran towards his friend.

"You're getting married?" Kirino asked Nishiki, "Why didn't I know this?"

"Well, you were gone the last three days," Nishiki stated, "So I was quite unable to tell you."

"I see," Kirino realized he had said too much, "So, who is the lucky woman?"

At precisely that moment the noise that had filled the church dimmed and everyone's face was turned towards the young woman in the door opening on the arm of her father. Everyone had to admit that they had never seen Midori so beautiful before. She wore a white dress with hints of light green on her long and wide sleeves and the waistband. The upper part hugged her body tight but from the waist band on, the dress flowed down to the floor. She didn't wear her four trademark braids over her shoulders but all her hair flowed freely over her back. According to Nishiki, she looked absolutely perfect, except maybe for the frown that was on her face. Next to her, the appearance of her father seemed almost pathetic. He couldn't afford to get new clothes for himself so he supported his daughter in his everyday clothes.

Kirino saw the look of awe on Nishiki's face and nudged him in the side.

"Good luck," he whispered as he softly slipped away into the crowd.

If Midori had to give three words to describe the ceremony, they would be boring, awkward and torturing. The worst part up to now was having to let go of her father's arm. It may have been a simple gesture, but it meant the world to her. It meant going from a free girl to a married woman tied down to a homebound life. Her father had been crying. She had been crying. Nishiki, being the comforter that he was, put his arm around her shoulders. She didn't mind. They had been best friends for years, and she wanted to be comforted right now. Up till now, they had been standing like this. Now was the moment they both dreaded the most. Kariya's father, who had been leading the ceremony, called forth Kiko Nyx. Kiko was a the cheerful daughter of a noble that lived in a castle close to the village. She was almost skipping towards the altar and Midori felt the nerves building up to the point where she felt like she had to puke. Kiko was holding a small open box with in it, a silver chain with a black pendant. Following protocol, Nishiki took the necklace from the box and smiled at Kiko who smiled back at him with her genuine grin. Midori was ushered to turn around and she felt the cold silver around her neck. She took a good look at the pendant hanging on her chest. It was formed like a miniature dragon and was the deepest shade of black that she had ever seen, she couldn't help but be amazed by the beauty of it. Kariya's father was watching the pendant at least as intently but with a look of disgust on his face, which he quickly wiped off his features as soon as Midori looked up at him. She turned back to Nishiki.

"It's black obsidian," he explained to her, "It's supposed to give you the courage to face your greatest fears. I know you are doing that right now, and I feel so bad that I am the one to restrain your freedom, but on the other side, imagine if you would have to marry some guy you hardly knew or liked," he said as he kept staring at his hands, which Midori only now noticed that they were holding hers.

"Who said I liked you?" she grinned at him as he looked at her. He was at least a few inches taller than her but he seemed so small right now, so vulnerable. He smiled.

"I did."

"Well then, I guess now I do too."

That was the moment the soft buzzing in the church that had risen, died down again. The words were spoken and there was only one thing left to do, the one thing Midori had dreaded.

"I'm so sorry," Nishiki spoke softly to her and before Midori could say or do anything he pressed his lips against hers. Midori's whole world seemed to freeze in that moment. She felt shocked. She felt a sudden sadness. Her freedom as a young woman slowly slipped through her fingers with that kiss. Through that sadness she caught herself enjoying the feeling of his lips on hers. He didn't push her nor pull her in hard, it was her own choice when she closed her eyes put her arms around his neck and returned the kiss. The whole church erupted in cheers and the newlyweds parted. Nishiki had to wipe away a rivulet of tears from Midori's cheeks before wrapping her up in his arms. His eyes found those of Midori's father and with one gaze he wanted to tell him that he would take good care of his daughter and he would never, ever hurt her. He just hoped the message was understood.

As soon as the cheers erupted from the church, a black raven on the roof of the church took off and made flight towards the Old Forest. There, at the first line of trees, stood Ranmyaku Tsuki.

"So it has begun," she mumbled and turned around to the girl and the polar fox that had been standing behind her. The girl was pretty, with her wavy blonde hair, blue eyes and porcelain skin she looked like a doll.

There was a sudden pressure on the back of her hands.

"Now, Himura, you don't want to do that," she told the doll, "It would not be a smart move to drain me now. You will be able to do that sometime different and on somebody else." The doll raised her eyebrows and the fox started to growl.

"You're going to need me, Himura. Don't do this now."

Suddenly, there was pressure on Tsuki's whole body and the doll was dangerously close now, the innocent blue eyes replaced by angry red orbs.

"I don't need anybody, especially not you, Ranmyaku Tsuki," she hissed, "You are not my guardian, nor are you in control of me. Don't think you are of any importance to me, you are just another pawn."

Ryanmaku Tsuki laughed hysterically, "Well then, Arisu Himura, I guess we're on the same page."

I curse your ignorance

Hehehehe that was the first time I actually wrote some fluff and it wasn't even that much. I even briefly introduced two new OC's! So if your OC appeared already, please tell me if I portrayed him or her correct through the story up till now! I want to stay close to the idea that you had in mind for your characters!

And I am happy with the bit of suspense at the end of the chapter -

Anyway, I am very content with this chapter and I hope I have satisfied my dear readers also!

Let me know what you think! Reviews make me very happy and motivated!
