Chapter 10 is finally here! I know you have all waited a long time and probably want to bash my skull in for depriving you all, and I probably deserve it. The thing is college had been bombarding me with so many papers to write and turn in. Not only that I ended up getting the flu for about a week with horrible symptoms. Then this chapter also gave me a bit of a problem. The training scene was quite hard for me since I originally wanted just Sasuke and Naruto in a team without Sakura, so I had to rethink and retype many times. BUT! It's finally done and I promise that chapter 11 won't take as long to write since now I'm back on track with school, my health, and the story itself.
"Naruto what's wrong?" Iruka asked, concern laced in his sweet voice. The pup swallowed the lump in his throat as his caretaker drew nearer and nearer.
The pup's tail frizzed up and his ears drooped a little. He laughed nervously. "Huh? O-oh it's nothing sensei." Iruka flicked his tail, the older wolf was even more worried when he picked up the smell of fear and embarrassment that seemed to emanate from his pup.
'Naruto? What could possibly be making—' Black eyes widened in realization. The tan wolf snapped his head to where Sasuke was only to see that the female was all in his personal space. He noted how annoyed the Uchiha smelled and smirked. The smirk melted into a small smile when Iruka shifted his head back to his flustered pup. He laughed quietly. Now he knew what was wrong.
The caretaker sat down close to Naruto and placed a white paw on the pup; pulling Naruto into his furry chest. The pup yipped, and calmed down instantly when he felt the warmth engulf him. Iruka growled lowly producing soothing vibrations for the pup. The vibrations did its job; Naruto's eyes were now half lidded. The caretaker sniffed him and smiled more when the pup's scent had changed to a more relaxed one.
Iruka pulled away, but not before giving Naruto an affectionate lick which made the pup smile.
It was then Kakashi trotted over to them and nuzzled his mate. "Iruka darling, why don't you go hunt for the pups while they begin they're training." The tan wolf nodded and obediently darted out the mouth of the cave, leaving the pups at the mercy of their trainer.
"Now then, shall we begin?" Kakashi asked, sauntering over towards the entrance of the cave. He looked back to see the pups hesitantly following him. Both Naruto and Sakura shuddered in fear from the cool and collected way the hunter was acting. Naruto's shivering ceased though when he felt the warmth of another body near his.
He looked up slowly to see Sasuke smirking at him. "It'll be fine Dobe, come on." The Uchiha strode behind the hunter, unaware of the effect he just had on the quivering pup. Naruto blushed bright red as he trekked behind the other three to wherever they were going; unaware of the death glare Sakura was giving him.
The pups halted in their tracks when Kakashi started sniffing around. The hunter crouched low to the ground and perked his ears forward. The pups waited confused, but patiently until the hunter finished inspecting the area before moving. Not long after the hunter's ears relaxed; he turned to them nodding for them to come closer.
The three pups moved to where they were in front of Kakashi. The hunter sat down to begin. "Now let's begin today's lessons, but before I can teach you to be great hunters you'll need to learn the basics. Now, what is a hunter's best advantage against prey?" He asked.
Naruto cocked his head in thought. 'What's a hunter's best advantage huh…?'
"Their nose and the wind." Sakura answered calmly.
Naruto narrowed his eyes in confusion, "Huh?" Sasuke shifted his black orbs towards Sakura. 'Hn she actually knows something. Now that's a shocker.'
Kakashi closed his eyes and smiled. "That's right our noses and the wind. It's our greatest advantage, but it's also our greatest weakness. Depending on the wind's direction will determine how your hunts will go as well as avoiding and entering strange territory. A hunter must know how to use their nose with the wind as an advantage and not a disadvantage to the hunt, especially the hunt's leader. So, here's your first trial. You have to figure out how to determine which way the wind is blowing towards and where it's coming from." He laid down to watch the pups.
The three pups began their experimenting, but Naruto was having some difficulty. Sure he could just feel the wind, but today it wasn't blowing that hard so he really couldn't tell where it was coming from. He growled and looked over to the others to observe what methods they were using. Sasuke just seemed to sit with his eyes closed and his ears perked straight up. Meanwhile Sakura had her tail pointed up towards the sky. 'Sasuke said he trained early so he must know what he's doing. I'll just mimic Sasuke then.'
Determined; the orange pup sat down and perked his ears up all the way like Sasuke and waited. He gasped quietly, 'That's what Sasuke's doing! He's listening for where the wind is coming from, and it seems to be coming from—' Naruto looked around to see where it was coming from. 'It's coming from the mountain!'
Kakashi noticed Naruto's wagging tail and decided to see how they were doing. "So have you all figured out which way the wind is coming from and blowing to?"
"A huh!" Naruto shouted excitedly, making Sasuke chuckle and Sakura growl.
"Well Naruto, since you're so eager why don't you tell us. Where is the wind coming from?" The hunter asked calmly.
"It's coming from the mountain!" The pup shouted. Silence filled the area, making Naruto's ears droop. He was correct wasn't he? Sakura snickered to herself. 'Chhhaaaa! Naruto you're such an idiot the wind is coming from the Konoha caves not the mountain!'
Kakashi smiled, "Good, now where is it blowing to?" Sakura deadpanned and looked at the hunter in shock. 'It wasn't coming from the Konoha caves?!'
Naruto replied instantly, "The Konoha caves!"
Kakashi nodded, "Impressive. How did you figure it out? Most pups your age don't understand this test right away." He explained.
Naruto giggled with a big grin, "Well I just copied Sasuke and realized what exactly it was that he was doing and figured the rest out on my own with my ears and some looking around."
The hunter was impressed as well as Sakura. "That's a good use of our resources Naruto, and observations as well.
Kakashi focused his attention back to his small group. "Now on to the next challenge, and this is where the real tests begin. A hunter's best ally is coverage. You need to learn to conceal yourself from sight and scent. Once I give you enough time I'll go around just like an enemy and try to sniff you out. Now that you know where the wind is blowing you should be able to hide your scents better from my nose." He said calmly.
"But Kakashi sensei, you're a great hunter. Wouldn't you be able to find us anyway?" Sakura blurted out.
Kakashi sighed, "Of course, but you have to remember your scents are all over this area at the moment. Even at my level it would still be a bit of a challenge to pinpoint your exact location. Now then let's get started shall we?" The hunter turned away so the pups could go and cover themselves. Kakashi counted down from twenty in his head as the pups scrambled to hide.
Sasuke immediately headed for the bushes and rubbed his body against the foliage to mask his scent. Sakura darted after the Uchiha to hide near him; not worried about covering her scent. Naruto shook the hurtful expression away and looked around for a good spot. He looked over at the bushes and shook his head. Naruto's gaze rested on a hole inside a partially uprooted tree. The pup beamed and ran towards it, burrowing himself in the hole while covering his body in loose dirt.
The hunter turned back around and scanned the area to see how well the pups had hidden themselves. 'Well they've seemed to grasp the concept of hiding themselves.' He sniffed the air. 'Their scents are well covered too, looks like there's hope for Naruto.' He thought to himself. Kakashi began to slowly search the area, sniffing around to follow their lingering scents. He easily picked up on Sakura's scent and frowned; following the obvious trail. Before the hunter was too close Sasuke took the time to dart quietly away from the insolent female pup. Sakura pouted, wanting to be near the Uchiha. When the hunter reached the bushes he smirked and dove in to catch the scent he found.
"Ahh!" The hunter emerged from the green brush with a sulking female pup in his jaws. He rolled his eyes and placed her down gently.
He sighed. "Sakura, remember, the object of the lesson is to conceal yourself and mask your scent from others."
The female nodded slowly and darted back into the bushes to try again. The hunter left her and put his nose to the ground again to pick up another's scent. He smirked when his nose found the small smell of the Uchiha pup. 'This will be interesting.' Kakashi followed the pup's scent into the bushes once again; hoping to catch the young pup off guard. Sasuke smirked, he was well aware of what the trainer was doing and continued to move silently among the foliage; inching away from the hunter's strong scent. Naruto snickered quietly from his spot as Kakashi had to go deeper and deeper into the brush to find the Uchiha. After minutes of not being able to catch Sasuke, Kakashi gave up and tried a different scent. 'Well Sasuke seems to know how to survive in the forest if he were to encounter large enemies. That's one pup I won't have to worry too much about when it comes to predators on the hunts.' It wasn't long before the trainer's nose picked up the scent of the Uzumaki. 'Let's see how you do Naruto.' Kakashi followed the scent slowly, noticing that the pup's scent was everywhere, making it a bit difficult for him to find where Naruto had hidden. Sasuke peeked from behind the foliage and smirked at the fact that their trainer couldn't find Naruto with such ease.
'Good Naruto now just stay still.' The Uchiha thought.
With a smirk the hunter called out to the pups, "You've hidden yourselves pretty well, but now let's see how you deal with moving around. Not only that you also have to pounce me." He challenged. Sasuke accepted said challenge with a smirk and backed up quietly. He swiftly moved around with experience to where he was crouched behind a large tree located infront the hunter.
Kakashi's ears swiveled in the direction where a faint noise came from. One of the pups was on the move. 'And with such noiseless paw steps. That's very advanced for a pup at this age.'
Sakura whined once she realized that the Uchiha was no longer anywhere near her. 'Well I'll just have to fix that.' The female desperately tried to back out quietly to follow Sasuke, but failed to do so.
Kakashi sighed as he heard numerous noises consisting of twigs snapping, the thudding of paws, and whines. 'Well she needs to practice her stalking techniques more.' He noted.
Seeing that Kakashi was distracted Naruto carefully climbed out of the hole and dashed to an adjacent bush with very minimal noise. The pup beamed happily, he was definitely getting better at this ever since he began training with his caretaker. 'I've got to remember to tell Iruka sensei about this later.' Naruto felt for the wind with his perked up ears again and delicately stalked his way through the brush to his intended hunter's ears swiveled again, this time towards where Naruto had dashed to. Kakashi smirked, 'Looks like Iruka meant it when he said that Naruto's skills had improved. I can definitely train him into a young, strong wolf pup now.' The hunter closed his eyes to focus his ears more on the slightest sound of the pup's movements.
Sasuke listened for the wind and noted that it changed directions. It was now blowing on him. 'Damn! I'd have to go back to where Sakura was just to avoid him catching my scent.' He gritted his teeth to suppress the angry growl that was building up in his throat. Hoping not to run into the persistent female, Sasuke darted back to where he first started through a different route. He peeked through the thick bushes to see that the hunter was focused on another pup's movements. Sakura's no doubt. With Kakashi distracted, Sasuke continued downwind until he was behind the hunter. He smirked, 'Perfect.'
Just as the Uchiha quietly closed in on their trainer something dashed out of the bushes. Sasuke's eyes blinked, Naruto had beaten him to it. When he recovered from the shock he crouched down, smirking as he made his way to the hunter. Naruto was definitely a worthy adversary as well as a worthy friend. 'Maybe even more. Gah! You have to focus Sasuke!' He ignored the pink dusting his cheeks as he sprinted out of the brush. 'Yes! Now he's mine!' Naruto thought as he jumped in the air. Sasuke jumped as well, trying to pounce the hunter before Naruto could. Kakashi smirked.
"Ow!" Both Sasuke and Naruto shouted.
Sakura gasped, "Sasuke!" The female abandoned her hiding spot and sprinted towards the Uchiha.
The pups grunted in pain from the impact. When they opened their eyes both pups realized that they must have collided with each other. Naruto reopened his eyes to look for Kakashi, but the hunter was nowhere in sight.
Sasuke shook himself and groaned, "Where'd he go?"
Naruto rubbed his head with a yellow paw. "Damn! I almost had him." The pup pouted.
"Huh?" Both pups' ears twitched. They then turned their heads to the right to see Kakashi sitting there, a blue paw covering his muzzle as he stifled a laugh.
Naruto gawked at the hunter. "HUHHHHHHH?!"
"Whoops, looks like you missed me. Come on guys you didn't really think that I would be that easy to catch, but I must say that it was a pretty good try on both of your parts." He admitted. Naruto and Sasuke's eyes blinked in confusion. They missed?
Sasuke narrowed his black orbs. 'Damn he's fast.' Naruto pouted folding his ears back as he narrowed his eyes at the hunter.
"Sasuke!"
"Ack!" Naruto was pushed back to the ground as Sakura bounded towards the Uchiha. "Sasuke! Are you ok?" She asked worriedly; nuzzling the blue pup's chest.
Sasuke growled, baring his fangs a bit to the irritating female. The orange pup groaned as he once again collided with the dirt. Why did she have to only worry about Sasuke, he was hurt too, not that he wanted the female's concern but still. 'She'd probably tell me that I'm an idiot or something anyway.' He pouted more when he got up again and saw Sakura fawning all over Sasuke. Too distracted, he didn't notice the shadow that loomed over him.
"Huh?" Looking up at the shadow he realized it was Kakashi with an amused look on his muzzle. Naruto didn't have time to utter any concerns as the hunter picked him up by his scruff and gently placed him back on his paws. Naruto starred at him in awe. Was the hunter really looking out for him? The pup gave Kakashi a scrutinized look.
"Iruka would have my tail if he knew I didn't help you out every now and then." He confessed with a smile.
Naruto gave a goofy grin and giggled. So his caregiver had the hunter wrapped around his paw eh? Kakashi moved to where he was in front of the other two pups and barked softly. Once he knew that he had their attention he raised his tail and growled lowly at the female pup to get off. Sakura whined, flattened her ears, and reluctantly moved off of Sasuke.
"You're first attempt was a good one, but you still have to actually catch me. So, let's try again shall we?" The pups nodded with determination and spread out again. The hunter smirked and once again took his position.
The training session lasted for two hours with the sun reaching its highest point for the day. The pups tried many times to successfully pounce their trainer; each time coming close than the last but ultimately failing. There was quite some improvement as they continued the session though. Sakura's noise levels diminished quite a bit, but she was still too loud to hunt successfully. He would have to work with her on that as well as her stalking form. Sasuke was a very exceptional wolf pup; he was very well trained for his age. The Uchiha's form and techniques were at an advanced level as well as his soundless steps. Now, Naruto was a rather interesting situation. Even though he practiced and trained hard with Iruka, he still had untapped potential. Naruto needed more tips from a top hunter, like himself, to be able to awaken and hone those skills.
Naruto panted heavily as he struggled to hold his crouched position. The orange pup could feel his limbs straining to hold his body up. He was exhausted. This was much more intense than Iruka's simple exercises. For one thing, Kakashi moved around; not something he was used to, and to make matters worse Sasuke was still on the prowl like it was nothing! Naruto observed the Uchiha through lidded eyes as he got close to the hunter and missed, but he turned around and barreled towards Kakashi with great speed.
It was incredible. Naruto pouted, he was envious of the Uchiha's astounding abilities. The pup's blue eyes narrowed, 'No! I won't give up and let Sasuke get him before I do! I-I have to do it first! I have to prove to him that I can be strong too.'
While Sasuke continued to dart around the hunter, Sakura sat there in her current hiding spot among the bushes, waiting for the perfect moment to jump out and surprise the trainer. 'Ha! Once I help Sasuke tag sensei he'll realize that we make a great team and he'll want to train with me all the time. Chhhaaa! Maybe he'll even recognize that he shouldn't be wasting his time with an omega like Naruto.' She seethed in her mind. Her pale green eyes locked onto the hunter, following every swift evasion he made. In the little amount of time they had been out here, Sakura was starting to read the hunter's body, and predict what move he would make next. Kakashi was definitely a swift wolf, he evaded every one of the blue pup's attempts, but with the Uchiha quickly closing in on his tail, his movements changed drastically from graceful to tense. Sasuke smirked, 'I finally figured out his pattern.' With that he zigzagged from right to left to throw the older wolf off. It was in that moment Sakura noticed how curled up the hunter was. Her green eyes widened in anticipation. 'He's going to jump back!' The red pup sprang out of the bushes immediately to grab Kakashi's attention. "Cha!"
"What?" The hunter's head swiveled in the direction of the noise to see the female charging at full speed at him.
'Now he's all Sasuke's!' Sakura sang in her head. With both pups coming after him he could only do one thing. Once they were close enough, the hunter used his powerful limbs to perform an effortless back flip.
Sasuke gasped; skidding to a halt. Sakura, however, did not cease her barreling and collided right into the Uchiha. The pups yelped from the force of the collision and fell onto their backs in pain. Sasuke groaned and shook his head. He then narrowed his eyes at Sakura and growled; barring his fangs. This has been happening all day and he was tired of it. The female needed to know that she wasn't being very helpful, but instead the total opposite. Sakura whined; curling her tail from the Uchiha's obvious anger. She never accounted for Kakashi's hunting experience, so she really didn't anticipate that he would pull such an escape move like that.
The hunter landed gracefully and held in a chuckle. "Looks like you missed me." The hunter said smugly.
Sasuke growled in frustration. He almost had the older wolf until Sakura came and ruined it.
"You're all doing ok, but the point of this exercise is to work together to bring down your opponent, so you all need to learn how to help one another instead of hindering each other's actions. When you're part of a pack the most important rule is team work. We hunt prey big prey together and are only successful together. We may be able to bring deer down by ourselves, but fending off a hungry bear or other wolves requires major teamwork. A hurt pack member can seriously cause the pack a hunt. Any who argue or don't want to work with others usually get casted out of the pack and are doomed to roam as loners or end up in a rival pack. So, it's important that you three learn to find some common ground to try and get along with each oth—"
The hunter turned his head to see an orange fur ball on his back; giggling. Kakashi as well as the other two were shocked to see that Naruto had managed to sneak up and successfully pounce their trainer.
"Heh heh I got you Kakashi sensei!" He exclaimed happily.
Sasuke hned with his trademark smirk. 'Good he's improving.' The hunter recovered from the shock and smirked. "Good, it seems that you're improving. You took advantage of me being distracted to attack. That's very clever Naruto."
The orange pup's tail wagged from the praise and relinquished his hold on the hunter's back. He slid to the ground and trotted over to Sasuke tail wagging happily. He was proud of himself that he managed to tag their trainer before the Uchiha. 'Now he'll see that I can actually do something on my own.' Sasuke smirked and nipped Naruto's ear playfully. The pup yipped.
"Impressive Naruto." He said casually, but Naruto could hear the affection in his voice, and it made the Uzumaki even happier. Sakura growled and glared at the orange pup. 'How dare he one up Sasuke! Sasuke is only praising you because he knows you played dirty to catch sensei, and we all know you'd never be able to really pounce Kakashi unless someone else distracted him for you. Stupid Naruto!'
"Alright let's try again shall we?" The pups nodded in unison and fanned out. Training continued for quite a while with the pups managing to improve their masking skills. Even Sakura began to grasp the importance of covering her scent. Kakashi noticed her paw steps were getting quieter as well. Both Naruto and Sasuke's were pretty mastered for their ages so he didn't really need to worry too much about them. He was rather impressed with Sasuke, he definitely was a prodigy alpha male; most pups his age don't master the basics until they're a bit bigger, but the Uchiha definitely had the basics mastered. Sasuke even possessed some skills that others don't learn until they're old enough to go on hunts with the adults. Now Naruto was definitely improving. He ended up pouncing the hunter quite a few times with Sasuke's collaboration and on his own. To be honest he was rather impressed with all his pups.
The hunter then took note of the sky's color. It had changed from bright blue, to an intense orange. He shifted his eyes to the pups. Time really flew by; they were exhausted and panting. Their limbs could barely stop shaking as they stood still.
He walked close to the tired pups. "Alright this concludes today's training. Let's head back for some rest. Iruka should have something for ya'll to eat." The hunter reassured them. Naruto's mood perked up at the mentioning of food.
Kakashi quickly gathered the pups and placed each of them on his back. They were too tired to walk properly and that was a sign for predators lurking about. The hunter wasn't taking any chances risking them for food and started trekking back to the cave at a quick pace.
Dusk was approaching rapidly and there was still no sign of the group. The young wolf 's ears drew back. Iruka was worried; it was getting very late. He whined and looked back towards the meals he caught for the pups. His ears then swiveled to the entrance of the cave. The faint noise of grass crunching caught the wolf's attention. Iruka released the breath that he didn't know he was holding and trotted to his mate. He licked the hunter's muzzle and nosed him, making Kakashi smile.
"I'm glad you're back, I was getting worried."
The hunter licked his mate's cheek reassuringly. "You shouldn't worry Iruka dear, we just lost track of time with the training exercises going on." He then turned his head towards his back to look at the sleeping pups. Iruka got the hint and began pulling the pups off of the hunter's back and gently placing them on the cave floor near the food. The caretaker smiled at Naruto and gave his belly a long lick. He nuzzled his pup before returning to his mate's side.
"They'll sleep for quite some time, that training really took a toll on them." Kakashi admitted. The younger wolf nodded and followed the older out of the cave. He glanced back at the pups one last time before taking off to meet with the other hunters.
It was pitch black outside the cave, the stars and moon the only source of light as the pups slept away peacefully. Naruto, however, was anything but sleeping well. The pup's brows were furrowed as his body shook violently. There were whines escaping his mouth as his limbs convulsed uncontrollably. Sasuke cracked open a tired eye and noticed that Naruto was a few feet away from him. Still exhausted, the pup crawled his way over to the pup to see what was going on. The constant whines had disturbed the Uchiha from his slumber, but he didn't mind since it was Naruto. Once he was close enough he could see that Naruto was having some sort of nightmare. 'What could he be having a nightmare about?' Sasuke wondered. Not wasting any more time, the Uchiha started nuzzling the other and calling his name.
"Naruto. Naruto. Wake up Naruto." He whispered. The pup's spasms became more frequent, worrying the Uchiha. Sasuke clenched his fangs; the nightmare seemed to be getting worse. Not wanting him to suffer anymore Sasuke roughly nudged the pup in the stomach. "Naruto!" He shouted quietly.
"Gah!" The quivering pup shot up from his sleep and panted heavily.
Sasuke's slight worried expression was the first thing Naruto saw when he woke up. Just seeing the Uchiha was enough to calm his breathing into slight huffs. Naruto tore his eyes away from the blue pup's gaze to take in his surroundings. He noticed he was in Kakashi's cave and that he was no longer in any danger. 'It was a dream?' Naruto was pulled from his thoughts when something warm connected with his forehead. He gasped slightly. Sasuke's paw rubbed softly against the pup's head in a soothing motion. Pink flooded the Uzumaki's cheeks as he sheepishly turned away from the other. Sasuke quirked a brow, Naruto was doing it again. Every time Sasuke was near or giving him comfort he noticed that the pup would get all flustered and start avoiding his eyes. Was Naruto going through the same thing he was? Curious he furthered the affections by nuzzling the orange pup's cheek. Naruto's hitched breath made him smirk. 'Maybe a bit more.' He thought, letting his pink tongue slip out to glide gently against Naruto's cheek. The wet appendage only made the Uzumaki's blushing worse. His face darkened to a cherry red.
Naruto whimpered, "S-Sasuke." The Uchiha's eyes widened.
The way that Naruto uttered his name had caused his heart to skip a beat. He grunted from the aching in his chest and licked Naruto's ear to get another reaction out of the orange pup. The pup's face continued to darken in color from his constant blushing. His body quivered from the Uchiha's touch; it was a great feeling that he didn't want to end. Sasuke's heart continued to skip beats as Naruto called out his name quietly in the cave. Naruto buried his head in the Uchiha's chest fur to hide his face. Sasuke smiled genuinely and without hesitation pulled him closer with his paws. He nuzzled his friend, growling softly. 'Damn these feelings! I can barely control myself around him anymore. It's like I just want to sit here and nuzzle him continuously to take away his pain. Maybe I should talk to Kakashi about this. He should know a way to control these new emotions and explain them.'
He soon pulled away to look into Naruto's crystal blue eyes. "Did you have some kind of nightmare?" He asked concerned.
Naruto's ears fell. He broke his gaze with the Uchiha. "Yeah…just…about my parents dying…I mean…I haven't had a nightmare about it in a long while but, seeing that wolf again…just brought the nightmares back I guess." He answered quietly.
Sasuke frowned, he didn't want Naruto to feel this way. The Uchiha looked back to check on Sakura. She seemed to be in a very deep sleep, she didn't move once even with all the commotion going on. 'Good, hopefully she'll stay asleep for a long time.' He then redirected his attention back to his forlorn friend to see that the pup had calmed down significantly. The fact that he had such an impact on the Uzumaki filled him with pride. He rested his paw on Naruto's. "It'll be alright Dobe." Naruto gasped lightly and looked up at the Uchiha. He saw the blue pup smiling at him genuinely. Naruto blushed more. 'That word again…the way he uses it on me…' Naruto understood it's meaning, but the way that Sasuke used it was obviously for a different purpose Right?
"Why do you call me that Sasuke?" He asked skeptically. To every other wolf he was annoying and a loser. If Sasuke really was his friend, would it really mean differently?
Sasuke blinked in confusion. He didn't think the pup would ever question his actions. He recovered from his shock and smirked, "Because you're my Dobe."
The Uchiha didn't give Naruto any other answer as he answered his hunger's call and moved to where the wonderful scent of flesh was coming from. Naruto pouted with the blush remaining on his cheeks. What did Sasuke mean by that? He was just even more confused now, but at the same time his heart skipped a beat, as if it knew what the hidden code in the Uchiha's explanation was really saying. He was interrupted from his pondering when a grumbling noise reached his ears. He laughed nervously, his stomach had made the noise. He looked over to where Sasuke was and remembered that Kakashi said that there would be food for them when they got back. 'I guess we were just too tired to eat.' He concluded before rising up and trotting over to the pile of delicious food.
Alright chapter 10 is officially done. Again I'm sorry for the really late update, the next I promise will be up soon.
