Annabeth Chase:

"No…" I said quietly.

I shook my head and absentmindedly lifted my hand to feel the necklace. It felt hot to the touch. I pulled my hand away and read quietly as everyone stared at the picture.

"The Olympus Amulet is very powerful. Only one abnormal of each generation has the ability to possess it without losing their minds to its power. Others may try to control themselves but the Amulet's special glow and immense power can make any sane being lose everything."

I closed my eyes and began to pound my head on the table. Nico pointed a finger at me and glared.

"I told you! It always gave me a weird vibe!" He shouted. I growled at him and clamped my hand shut before this library was sent up in flames.

"Shut it Nico. Gods why is this happening to me? Really? With everything the Gods have put me through and now I'm the one abnormal of our generation to control this? Is my sanity their play thing?" I asked, annoyance and frustration laced in my voice. Percy placed a comforting hand on my shoulder but I shook it off. I don't want comfort.

"Annabeth where is the Amulet now?" I lifted the chain until the Amulet's red glow lit up the room. I dropped it on the outside of my shirt for all to see. I shook my head almost sadly as it glowed a little brighter. Percy shook his head.

"Damn…That must be why you've been having a hard time controlling your powers. How long have you had it?"

"Years Percy. I've had it for years. I just started it wearing it a couple days ago…" Piper slowly ran a finger down the gem and it flashed pink for a second.

"Well it's beautiful…" She said quietly.

"And dangerous. Piper didn't you hear me read it? What if I gave it to one of you and you lost your mind because of its power? I can't let that happen." Everyone was quiet until Thalia snapped her fingers in my direction.

"That's why your being targeted Annabeth! Obviously someone wants this Amulet! They want its power and they need you to get it!" I nodded slowly. We all jumped as the clock chimed midnight. I stood up and placed the book in my coat pocket. It wasn't very big. I glanced at everyone and sighed.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that you've all been dragged into this." Percy shook his head.

"Annabeth whether or not you realize it we're your friends. We'll protect you like you're our family. Whoever is after you will have to go through us first." As everyone nodded around me my lips twitched upwards. I nodded and looked over at Percy. He smiled brightly at me and I couldn't help myself.

I slowly approached him and gently wrapped my arms around his waist, stuffing my head into his neck and resting my cheek on his shoulder. While he was frozen, maybe with fear, I whispered.

"Thank you…" Into his neck. Slowly his arms wrapped around me to squeeze me. An unknown feeling of fluttering in my stomach made me jerk away. Percy looked worried instantly, thinking he had done something wrong. I shook my head just as a small puff of flame exploded from my hands.

I glanced down at them nervously.

"Sorry…Emotions make it harder to control. I need to be unfeeling for a while." Percy looked disappointed at the news and I felt somewhat guilty. I slowly looked down at the carpeted floor.

"We all need to get home, its dark. I'm sure you're parents are worried. Ernie and Blaze must be waiting for me." I slowly started to walk to the door. As I opened it I watched as my new friends filed out. Percy was last and he stopped in front of me.

"At least let me give you a ride home, I don't want you walking in the dark." I thought it over for a minute before nodding. A ride did sound nice.

As I walked out of the pizzeria, ready to lock it up on this Saturday night I noticed something felt off. I stopped and looked around. I felt eyes on me but I couldn't tell where they were coming from. I zeroed in on my hearing, trying to hear anything that might indicate where the stalker was.

Before I knew what was happening I was pulled into an alley. I dropped my keys and my hands lit up. I quickly turned in the person's grasp to punch them in the stomach. It was fairly dark in the alley but I could see the figure leaning over.

My flame hadn't burned their clothes. Why hadn't it burned their clothes?!

"Geez Annie I thought I'd get a better greeting." The color drained from my face. My whole body froze and I opened my mouth in panicked shock.

As he slowly stood back up I noticed his blonde hair has gotten longer over the years. His smirk still as annoying and large as ever. His blue eyes connected with my grey ones and I felt fear start to take over. I noticed he was wearing a slick black material, probably fireproof. I slowly started to back up, trying to get back out into the street where people could see me but he grabbed my arms.

"Annie please don't run. I need to talk to you! I've been waiting for the right time to finally see you but I waited too long! He's almost ready." I slowly took a minute to think about what he just said. Luke seemed to be just as frightened as me, though for a different reason. I ripped my arms from his grasp and took a few steps away from him.

"What are you talking about? Why are you here?" Despite how freaked out I was I managed to keep my voice steady. I haven't seen the guy in four years and he just shows up out of the blue with a random message? After all he's done to me this is how we meet each other again?

"Annabeth! Listen to me! He's almost ready for the attack! He used me Annabeth, he used me for his plan! I can't take it back now. Ugh that doesn't matter Annie you need to hide, run! Go anywhere away from here! He'll kill you, your friends and everyone in New York!" He spoke frantically and I could barely understand him. I grabbed his hands and he instantly froze. His eyes calmed and he smiled at me, I didn't return it.

"Luke….Who's almost ready? Who's planning the attack?" Luke didn't answer me. He stared down at our hands and I felt him try to interlock our fingers. I slowly pulled away from him and he stared at me with sad eyes.

"I'm sorry Annie." He murmured. "I'm sorry for what I did to you. I never met to do it. I just wanted to protect you, I love you….If you give me enough time I can get away from him. Then you and I can run away together. We can get out of New York and live happily together! Remember Annabeth? Remember like we used too?" He asked hopefully. I shook my head and started to walk a couple steps back.

"Yes Luke I remember. I remember what you did to me." Something flashed in his eyes as he yelled out.

"I protected you! I loved you!" I shook my head sadly.

"No Luke. You hurt me; you scared me into running away from you. You…You took what was left of a childhood from me. You scarred me Luke. I won't be going anywhere with you." Luke shook his head rapidly as his frantic, sad, pleading eyes stared into mine,

"No, no no! I love you Annabeth. I spent two years looking for you and I found you! We're together again! Don't you see? What he's doing can be a good thing!" My mind seemed to snap back from the past. My eyes grew wide.

"Luke please! Tell me who's going to attack the city!"

"Kronos! He has an army Annabeth! He's been sending robots and shadows he's stolen after you! Soon he'll have his mind washed minions after you too. He's after you, the amulet and the city Annabeth! You have to come with me so I can keep you safe!" He cried desperately. I shook my head and gestured around.

"And leave my friends and the innocent people of this city behind to be killed? I can't do that Luke. Those people promised to protect me; I'm going to do the same." I paused for a minute as questions ran through my head.

"How is he stealing shadows? That's not possible!" I said pointedly. Luke shook his head.

"You're smart Annie, how could you not get it? Kronos is an abnormal too. He can make anything he wants come alive. He steals people's shadows to do his bidding. Including killing you and the other five." I slowly shook my head, trying to process the information.

"No…" I said quietly. "No that's impossible. Eight abnormals in one generation? There's rarely seven! His name isn't in the big book!" Luke stayed quiet, but the look on his face told me what he was saying is true.

"Oh no… He's planning to attack New York…When? I need to know Luke! These people need to get out of here!" Luke shook his head.

"I'm sorry Annabeth." He started to walk towards me.

"I wanted to warn you, have you safe with me. But now you'll tell everyone. He can't let you save these people. He wants them all dead before he follows his plan." My eyes widened as Luke advanced towards me.

I instantly let my flame burn from my panic as I fled from the alley, shooting aimlessly behind me. I dashed into the restaurant and thanked the Gods Ernie wasn't home. I slammed the doors behind me, locking it. I ran up the stairs and locked my bedroom door. I nervously glanced around my room, looking for my phone to call Nico. He could get here instantly and help me!

As I lifted my sheets I heard the door open.

"Annie please come out! I promise I won't hurt you!" Luke yelled out. I felt a shiver go down my spine, those words have been heard before. Realizing I left the keys outside I face palmed. That's how he got in. It won't take long for him to realize where I am. And it's too high for me to jump.

As I continued my pointless search for my phone I heard a thud downstairs. As my heart pounded painfully against my chest I realized I wasn't going to escape this. He'll take me to wherever he needs to and I won't be able to warn Percy and the others about the attack.

As a beam of red shot from my chest I realized I still had the Amulet on! Of course! That's what Kronos wants. I quickly unlatched the chain from around my neck and ran to my wall. I lifted the framed drawing and pushed in my passcode. The safe opened and I paused.

My eyes landed on the picture of my Mother and I. I slowly placed the Amulet around the picture. I kissed my fingers and kissed my Mother's picture.

"Protect them Mother. Please protect them…" I whispered softly as I shut the safe. I pushed the picture back down and dove for my desk as I heard footsteps coming up my stairs. I grabbed a pen and paper and scribbled on it as quickly as I could.

Planned attack on the city.

GET EVERYONE OUT.

Nico, blast from the past and need help.

Kronos wants the Amulet but it's hidden behind memories.

Eighth abnormal, steals shadows making them his own to control.

Talk with Grover, find his friend.

Please, keep yourselves safe as I plan a way to escape.

-Annabeth

As I finished scribbling my name I heard knocking on the door then a soft.

"Annabeth?" Though the voice wasn't Luke's.

"Percy? Percy!" I rushed to the door and opened it and a confused Percy was staring back at me. I flung myself at him and hugged him tightly, my heart still pounding. Fast as lightning his arms wrapped around me.

I froze as I felt the rippling. I slowly glanced up to see Luke smiling down at me. The air left my body and my shoulders slumped realizing what had happened. Luke's grip tightened.

"I said I was watching you Annabeth. You should have known I would use him against you."

Fairly short but you guys can tell that things are picking up! If it was unclear Luke is a shape shifting abnormal.

Their is an eighth abnormal (something unheard of!) who's planning a large attack on our favorite six and the city! Before Annabeth can stop them an old memory of the past comes back.

So Annabeth is kidnapped and it'll be up to the others to get people to safety and find her. What do you think will happen? Review and find out on the next chapter!

I want five reviews before the next update!
