So yeah, I'm still writing this. I'm planning on pausing my other stories (Psychic Jiinjuuriki, for example) for a while to try and finish Instruments of Time soon, but what with recent events it might take a little longer than usual...

Anyway, enjoy!

"So in this world, I'm the leader of a group of werewolves trying to survive the tyranny of Mario here, who's a vampire?"

"Not just any vampire; the head vampire", said Link. "I still can't believe I'm talking to Sonic and the Count from another universe".
"At least that confirms that Dankey Kong's not crazy", said Ike.
"No, it only confirm's he's right about there being another world", said Link. "Getting to it may not be as easy. As for Dankey Kong being crazy..."
"So..." began Lucas excitedly, but Lucario stopped him.
"Yes, but not until dawn", he said. "The vampires can't come out in the daylight".

The next day, Dankey Kong led them to where he had fallen between worlds. But, to their surprise and shock, they found no trace of the mist that took them there.
"What do we do?" asked Link.
"I must seek the council of the Grand Wizard", said Dankey Kong, running off into the forest. "He'll know what happened!"
As soon as he was gone, a voice spoke up from a tree.

"He will-a not find the answer", said Count Mario. "Because I condensed the mist and stored it away".
"What?" said Link. "How are you..."
"Drinking this-a condensed mystic mist grants-a the user immunity to the sun or moon", added the count. He raised a hand which began to glow green. "As well as-a other powers..."

"You there", said a voice as Dankey Kong walked through the forest.
"Aren't you the one who was with the Werewolves earlier?"
Dankey Kong turned to see the vampire Olimar driving a horse-drawn carriage of some kind with several crates containing bottles of some kind of liquid on the back.
"You must be confusing me with someone else", said Dankey Kong. "Who is maybe a different colour and, hypothetically speaking, probably doesn't wear a handsome eyepatch".
"You are, aren't you!" he said, before leapin at Dankey Kong.
Startled, Dankey Kong kicked him back, sending him flying into the back of the carriage and smashing the bottles.
"Olimar? What's going on out there?" asked Zelda, peering out of the carriage. A pool of liquid was forming around the base of the carriage, and out of that pool came a thick mist...

Mario and Sonic lay near-unconscious on the ground as Count Mario looked down on his counterpart.
"To think-a that another version of me could-a be so pathetic", said the Count.

Dankey Kong emerged from the mist to find himself on a busy path in a bright, futuristic city. Vampire Zelda quickly retreated to a shady area out of the direct sunlight, dragging the vampire Olimar with her.

"Hey kid, where am I?" he asked a passing boy who looked oddly like Ness.
"Why? You lost or something?" he asked. "You're in Shroomheim, dummy!"
"Shroomheim?!" said Dankey Kong. "I remember my last trip here like it was tomorrow".
"That's another way of saying you've never heard of it, right?"
"Precisely!", said Dankey Kong. "No-one else gets it when I say that!
So who's in charge here?"
"Who else?" said "Ness". "Emperor Bowser of course!"
