Stranger Things Chapter 10

A/N: Well I'm back. I missed this story as well as my others. They will all be updated in due time. Enjoy. -MoonlitShadow

Newt had just finished making an announcement to the rest of the Glade about the state and condition of the new greenie and Addie had felt more than tired and even more like she needed a fresh breath of air. Without hesitation, she abruptly stood from the table that she was sitting at with Gally and Winston and hobbled her way out of the mess hall and into the bright moonlight. Something had to be done. The compound had been attacked and Resa had been injured. Something was going on enough that Tom had decided to take things into his own hands and make himself fall ill under the curious swipe. It didn't look good. For any of them. If Tom had really triggered what Resa had referred to as the end, what did this mean for all of them inside and outside the Glade? What would become of Resa and the rest of the team that were so focused on searching for a cure? And what would they do now that Tom was here and what would he know or not know? It all was so confusing.

Gally watched with a careful eye as Addie hobbled out the door and into the night. He felt Winston give him a rough nudge and nodded in silent agreement. They needed to deal with the terms of their relationship to Addie sooner rather than later. Newt cleared his throat as he sat back down at the table making both boys look over at him. "I know that since things are a little unsettled at the moment you both are probably having some rather….drastic thoughts about your relationship to Addie. Let me remind you that things here in the Glade are still in as much order as they can be and that I am still in charge. Addie is still young and doesn't need two almost fully-grown lovers making the situation worse by pushing things on her that can obviously wait. If I catch drift of either of you pushing where you needn't push, well let me assure you there will be bloody hell to pay, understood?" He said as he fixed them both with a look that made several eyebrows at the table raise. Gally huffed out a breath as Newt looked over at Winston seeing that he reflected more of less of how they felt. "I mean it you, two. Things are not out of hand enough where you need to go scaring the poor girl. She has enough to deal with. She's only just gotten here. Let her adjust and maybe make some bloody friends why don't you. Not everyone here is out to get her. I don't know what she's bloody talking about with the new greenie or outside this Glade but for right now, none of those things matter. We'll deal with this one step at a time." He said with an air of finality that made everyone nod in agreement. Newt's word was law. Gally knew this. Winston knew this. Hell, they knew even Addie knew this. But big changes were coming whether they liked it or not and Gally couldn't help but feel that Addie needed to be aware of things sooner rather than later no matter what Newt said. But taking one look at Winston's face made him backtrack and think otherwise. Winston shook his head ever so slightly and went back to the conversation that had now changed into a lighter topic. Gally sighed and sat back. Things were never easy. But especially not now.
