Still Always Me & You

Chapter Ten

Eighth Author's Note:

Hello! I wanted to apologize for my lack of updating this story. I'm truly sorry. I've just been uninspired to continue to write it. I'm not sure how long this story will be all together. I feel horrible, but things have also been hectic in my life. This, unfortunately, leaves little time to write. I hope you're still interested in reading it.

Thank you!

A year later…

"Happy Birthday, to you,

Happy Birthday, to you,

Happy Birthday, dear Liz,

Happy Birthday, to you!"

It was Liz's first Birthday and both her families were there to celebrate. Her GLEE family and her real family. They were at the studio, but Ryan had decorated a part of the lot to the nines. Balloons, party hats, party noise makers, and there was even a pony roaming around somewhere.

"Ryan, that's just too much," Heather had said two months before her daughter's birthday.

"No, it's not," Ryan insisted, "It's from 'Uncle Ryan'!"

"Thank you," Naya beamed.

During the festivities, Liz's wore a cute red and white striped dress and a cute little ribbon in her hair. She was growing up so fast and was such a happy and loving baby. Naya and Heather were truly blessed and they knew it every day.

They were all playing with Lauren with the balloons. She would hide behind one and jump out as she made all kinds of silly faces at Liz. Liz enjoyed each one and cackled out when Lauren did it.

"She likes me," Lauren smiled at Naya.

"Of course, it's been a year, she loves ya, like we do!"

"Aww. Thanks, Naya," Lauren blushed.

"Actually, I need to use the bathroom and I don't see Heather around so…"

"I can totally hold her," Lauren jumped at the opportunity.

"Cool….come sit down," Naya said as she got up with Liz in her arms. Lauren plopped into the seat that Naya had occupied and extended her hands out to Liz. Naya placed her into Lauren's hands and immediately they tightened. Naya stepped back to look at them. They were interacting and smiling already and she hadn't even left.

"You gonna be…" Naya started.

"I thought you had to pee," Lauren said as she looked up at Naya.

Liz smiled and flailed her arms in the air with a huge smile on her face.

"Alrighty then," Naya said as she walked off. She made eye contact with her Mom and tilted her head backwards. Her Mom nodded her head in understanding.

Naya ran to the nearest restroom and once she got there, she walked into the room and into a stall.

While she was in there, she heard two voices come into the room. Naya recognized them immediately, but decided to listen and not make it known that she was in there.

"When should we tell them," Lea asked.

"Not today, It's Liz's special day," Dianna said.

"But I'm so excited!"

"I know my love, so am I, just," Dianna trailed off.

"No, you're right, another time," Lea said sadly.

There wasn't any conversation after that. Naya assumed that Dianna grabbed Lea's hand and pulled them out of the restroom. Once Naya finished up, she left in search of Heather.

Naya was walking back to the party when I spotted her.

"Heather," Naya yelled.

"Hi, baby, I was looking for you," she said as she pulled Naya into her body and planted a kiss on her lips. They gravitated there for a few minutes.

"Wow!" Naya said after the kiss stopped.

"Geez," Heather said with a sly smile.

Naya shook herself out of daze. "I gotta tell you something," she said and looked around her to see if they were alone.

"Okay, what's going on?"

"I was in the bathroom…"

"Number one or number two?" Heather asked kiddingly.

"Eww. Not answering that one. Any way Dianna and Lea came in and had a conversation," Naya continued.

"About?"

"I don't know. Just that they're excited and they want to announce something, but they don't want to take away from Liz's day," Naya said.

"What are you thinkin'?"

"I think they should tell us, but they're not just going to volunteer…correction, Dianna may not," Naya said and chuckled.

"A toast!"

"Exactly," Naya exclaimed and held up her hand for a high five. "You are so smart. I love you!"

"I love you too," Heather said and cupped Naya's cheeks. She reached down and connected their lips again.

Naya melted into the kiss easily.

Once kiss ended, Heather grabbed Naya's hand and yanked her back to the party.

When they got back, Liz recognized Heather and threw her arms open for her. Heather scooped up her daughter and pulled her in close to her heart.

Naya found something to drink and then yelled, "Excuse me."

She saw that this did little to get their attention. She then got up on a chair and yelled, "Hey!" at the tops of her lungs.

People's heads turned in her direction.

"Isn't that de ja vu?" Kevin said and laughed. This made the crowd laugh also.

"Ha ha, anyway, Heather and I wanted to thank everyone for coming to Liz's first Birthday!"

Everyone hooted and hollered for a few seconds.

"Anyway, we consider you all family, so if there's anything anyone wants to share right now, please go ahead..." Naya finished her speech and turned her head towards Dianna who had a guilty look on her face.

"Ahm, actually Lea and I have an announcement. We didn't want to take away from Liz's day, but since Naya has encouraged us to, we will," Dianna said with a smile.

Dianna grabbed Lea and threw her arm over Lea's shoulder. Lea then put her hand on Dianna's stomach.

"Um, it appears that…" Dianna started to say, nervously.

Lea's smile got bigger than usual. Dianna took a deep breath and announced, "We're going to be parents!"

The crowd went wild with applause and "awws!"

Dianna leaned down and kissed Lea's head.

"Yes, we are going to be parents…" Lea said and then they looked at each other.

Then they whipped their heads back and yelled, "TWICE!"

Heather wore a dumbstruck look on her face, while Naya was total speechless. Everyone else was shocked, but came running up to them with hugs and congratulations.

"Ok, hold up," Naya channeled Santana. "Who's pregnant?"

"I am," Dianna said happily.

"And our adoption agency found a birthmother who will be having a child in two months. Her name is Angela and she is a teenaged girl who is totally willing to give her child the best life possible. She doesn't know it's us, but she knows that she can't keep the child," Dianna said humbly.

"We went to an in vitro doctor a few months ago and they did the procedure on Dianna and it took on the first shot!" Lea said excitedly.

"Are you gonna be able to take care of both of them," Dot asked. She asked what everyone else was thinking.

"It's going to be a challenge," Lea began.

"But we want to have kids so badly. God has granted us this opportunity so we are going to take it and run with it," Dianna finished with a huge smile.

"Well, congratulations," my Mom said genuinely.

"Yay, more babies!" Lauren said and clapped her hands.

"That's fantastic," Jane said happily.

"Have you guys thought of names, yet?" Amber asked with a warm smile.

"Well, actually we have. It's been a big topic of interest at the Agron residence…"

"Yup," Lea said shyly.

"Come out with it," Naya encouraged with a smile. Liz smiled at Dianna from Naya's arms.

"Ok," Dianna said and laughed awkwardly.

"For a girl, we have our middle names as an option…Elise Michele or Michele Elise…um, for a boy, um," Lea said and then hesitated.

"It's alright my love, tell them what we'll name our son," Dianna said with a warm smile.

"Allan Cory or Michael Cory, or even Cory, as a first name…."

A hush fell over the crowd and they took a few minutes to process what the two women had told them.

"Um, Lea," Lauren started, but then stopped.

Lea let go of Dianna's hand to walk over to Lauren. Once in front of her, Lea placed both hands on Lauren's shoulders. She looked deeply into Lauren's eyes and smiled.

"Um, isn't that going to be too painful," Lauren said as tears streamed down her face. Lea noticed and took one finger to brush them away.

"We talked about it and we decided that it would be too painful not to give our son part of Cory's name. Di and I want to honor him and this is the best way in which to accomplish this task, don't you think?"

Lauren didn't answer her. Instead she pulled Lea into a tight hug that Lea participated in fully. Before letting go Lea kissed the top of Lauren's head and said, "You're a good friend!"

"I'm here to help anytime," Lauren said while still in the embrace.

Dianna walked over and put both of her arms around them. There was quiet applause and then the others joined them.

Before the party ended, Ryan brought out the piñata. Even though they all knew that Liz couldn't hit it or have any of the candy inside, they let her playfully hit it.

She surprised Heather. She said, "Holy shit…she's a good hitter…"

"LANGUAGE!" everyone around her yelled at her.

"Sorry," she lowered her head.

Naya took the bat from Liz and told her daughter, "Let Mami show you how to get it done!"

Heather knew what was coming so she picked Liz up and took her out of danger. Naya smiled and winked at her wife.

Then Naya began to beat the crap out of the piñata. She took some hard swings and made some unhuman noises. Heather recognized some of them from…well, you know!

In a few minutes, the piñata, broke in half and the contents fell out. Even though they were grown-ups the guests flocked to the candy and went kind of crazy.

Later that evening they had arrived home and immediately put Liz to bed. Afterwards they got changed and cuddled in bed.

"What do you think about today?" Heather whispered while holding Naya.

"It was wonderful. Liz had a great time. Did you?"

"I always have a great time when you're around," Heather said and pecked Naya's lips.

"Me too," Naya said as they separated their lips.

Then Heather bolted up in bed.

"Did they find that damn pony?!"

Naya laughed so hard at that.
