Howl
If you could only see the beast you've made of me, I held it in but now it seems you've set it running free. The saints can't help me now, the ropes have been unbound, I hunt for you with bloody feet across the hallowed ground
Behind her she could spot Aragorn catching up with her racing horse. The wind left her hair in an ebony mantle of mess flying behind her. She laughed as Sirdal galloped faster when Aragorn caught up with them. Birds chirped in the trees and the sound of air flying by made Ariel calm as she rode next to the king. It was the sound of home. No doubt she loved sleeping in a proper bed and having enough food to satisfy her hunger again. But still it was charming living a simple life in the woods only seeing people once in a while. It let her think about what she'd done and come to terms with it.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of an arrow flying past her face, uncomfortably close. She halted her horse in sync with Aragorn but jumped down without him. "Aragorn leave now, as fast as you can." Ariel pleaded with panicked eyes. "I can't leave you here." "There's only one rightful heir to the throne, the world can go on without me." Just as he left, her arrow pierced the first arriving orc in the middle of his forehead. The blood came spattering out leaving dots of black on her light blue pants. The second orc she spotted running after Aragorn with his own arrow pointed at his head. The knife stuck just below his head severing it from his body. She continued with the others arriving out of the trees into the clearing each one earned his own arrow in its head. Eventually they got to close and she pulled out her sword from its sheath, slicing her first orc with the same move. As another arrived the woman slashed across his stomach opening it for its intestines to come tumbling out. From behind an orc came and slashed at her ankle managing to cut deep before gaining a knife in the stomach. More orcs came out through the woods and got a panicked look from the limping archer. She threw three knives across the small field each burying themselves into their victim's throat. Yet six more are closing in one her and she truly starts to panic, maybe this is the prophecy, dying while saving the king. Holding her sword in front of her she starts fighting three of the remaining attackers. Managing to slice one of their throats two more orcs join in the fight. She severed one orcs head clean of while Ariel herself earned a slash on her forearm. She drops her sword and ducks as another aims for her head. She pulls him down as she turning his sword to his abdomen. As she drags herself of the ground and avoids another sword coming her way she grabs another orc and stab the other with his sword, killing the last with her final arrow.
After she pulls her blood stained her from her face. She starts collecting her knives from her victim's bodies. As she reaches for her first one she feels a sword against her throat. "Not so lucky after all." A sleazy voice drags in her ear. "Now you will die slow and not so painless." Ariel swallows the building lump in her throat just as the orc falls down behind her, an arrow stuck in his back. She twists around only to spot Legolas holding his bow.
Hi.
My writer's block is gone so now you get your first fighting scene. It's also my first so it may not be so good. I'm eternally grateful because you've stuck with me through this very long pause, so thank you so much.
