"Why do you have to temp death at every possibility?" Groose asked.
"I don't get what you mean..." Zelda replied choosing not to look at Groose.
"Last time you got lucky-"
"No, I know what I'm doing. I just... slipped last time that's all." Zelda pulled the fabric of her new outfit up to cover her face as she looked in through a window of the dark castle. "Besides, I need to know if this works or not."
"I understand but if anything ever happened to you-"
"I don't care." Zelda turned away from Groose and started to climb into the castle when a weight on her leg jerked her back.
"Well I do. I don't want anything to happen to you."
"Groose! Let go!"
"NO! You may not care about your own life, but I do. I am not going to let you waste it."
Zelda thought for a minute before replying. "If you let me do this, I'll never sneak into the castle ever again unless it is an emergency..." The girl sighed and looked back at Groose watching his face for any emotion to show.
"This is the last one. Fine. Agreed. No more after this." Groose mumbled as he watched the girl crawl through the window. He felt sad at the thought that this might be the last time he saw her ever again.
'No. I have to trust her.' He thought to himself trying not to think of her dying.
Zelda on the other hand was looking for the demons. She had to admit, the new outfit was great for sneaking around. Her ears eventually picked up the sound of Ghirahim's annoying voice, and without hesitation, she followed the sound. It wasn't surprising to see him sitting in his throne obviously bored. Zelda decided to test how close she could get without disturbing him.
One step closer.
She paused as she watched his reaction. Nothing.
Another step.
Still nothing.
Zelda got closer and closer until she was within arms distance away from him, still nothing.
Groose was more than relieved an hour later when Zelda returned unharmed.
"What happened?" Groose asked nervously.
"Absolutely nothing." Zelda replied happily.
"Really?"
"I was literally behind Ghirahim and the dumbass didn't even notice. I have concluded three things."
"What's that?"
"One: Demons rely on scent more than sight or sound. Two: They can't smell themselves- which explains a lot- and three, this stuff really works!" Zelda kissed the bottle of purple liquid.
"Great, now lets get the heck out of here."
And they did. They were more than eager to go away, far away. The two could now sleep better knowing that the potion worked. It was a miracle. They had finally found a way out of the hell they called, home.
I know... short chapter... shun me... I shun myself...
To my defense, I did this on my phone and just wanted to do a small chapter and have the next one longer, I just wanted to do this scene and be done with the chapter, next one will be longer than 500 words I promise promise promise. Sorry for such shortness!
