Part Nine: Tiny Dancer
The piano twinkled as Elton John's sooth voice engulfed the room of dancers. Epstein took Cutie Pie by one hand while he supported her with his other hand on her back. He guided her through basic steps, keeping in time with the rhythm of the song. They seemed to meld together as they seamlessly glided across the floor. By the way she smiled at him, she was greatly impressed. He simply smiled, knowing that he had only begun to impress her.
Epstein released the hand from her back. With his other hand, still holding hers, he lifted his arm, guiding her to spin around. As she met him again, he swiftly moved her into a dip. He smiled, batting her eyes in surprise.
"Wow Juan!"
He smiled, bringing her back up.
"I had no idea you could dance like this."
"Well, Cutie Pie, that's just one of my many secrets."
They went back to dancing like before. She reached up and loosely wrapped her arms around his shoulders for a moment, giving him a hug.
"Juan, I've missed you."
There was a faint smile upon his lips. His eyes, however, gave away exactly how happy he was in that moment. "Don't speak, honey. Just dance."
She smiled softly and then let him lead her in the dance again. They kept dancing a little longer before Epstein broke their stance. He let her go, except for hooking one arm with hers.
"It's a long song. Let's go somewhere to talk."
She grinned "Fine by me."
He escorted her across the dance floor and over to the doors where their friends stood watching her. They ignored their friends' remarks on how impressive their dance was especially on Epstein's part, as well as how romantic they looked dancing together. Epstein simply grinned at them before he and Cutie Pie stepped into the hallway.
"Juan!" She smiled "I'm not going to be able to get over you dancing like that!"
He grinned. "Like I said, it's one of my many secrets. If we were going to dance together it had to be right."
She grinned, blushing a little. "I can't believe I tried to let you go."
"Yeah why did you?" He looked at her seriously. "I mean, my friends told me a little bit ago some of what you said about your dad not liking me because I got a bad rep."
"Yeah well… daddy found out things about you that may not be true. He threatened my life if I didn't break up with you."
His heart sank when he heard that. He brought her close into a hug, squeezing her gently. "Susie… You know you shouldn't let your dad or anyone make you afraid to be with me. You know I'm a good guy. I treat you well. If I had the money I'd give you everything you deserve and more. I'd buy the moon for you if I could. I'd give you your own throne and crown and officially make you the queen of my world."
"Oh Juan." She looked at him with a tearful smile. "You're amazing."
"What do you say, Susie? Can we get back together and not worry about your dad?" He moved in to kiss her.
She blushed even harder. "Ok." She kissed him. "Ok well, if I die then I die. At least I would be with you in the end."
He smiled "You're the best." He kissed her, letting it linger a little bit. "I'd gladly die by your side." He kissed her some more. "You mean the world to me. I never want to let you go again."
They leaned against the wall, continuing their kissing. Their bodies pressed into each other and they melted into their deep, sensual kisses. Unfortunately, this moment ended as quickly as it had begun, as a teacher who was chaperoning that night interrupted them. The teacher told them to break it up and go back to the dance. They sheepishly smiled at the teacher and then Epstein (after a quick check in his lower regions to be sure everything was secure) then hooked arms with Cutie Pie and escorted her back into the gym for the rest of the dance.
…
Epstein brought Cutie Pie close, sitting her in his lap. He wrapped his arms around her as he began kissing her. He moved to kiss and nibble a little on her neck, causing her to shiver.
"Juan!" She giggled a little, pushing him away.
He pulled back with a small laugh "What?"
"Let's not get carried away."
"Right right." He said with a laugh in his voice. "Ah," he scratched his head. "We probably should move on to the next song."
He took the tape out and flipped it over before putting it back into the player.
"What's the next song?"
"It's that David Bowie song. The Man who sold the World."
"Oh? Why'd you pick that?"
He shrugged a little, growing serious. "Couple reasons. Mainly because it was the song I'd listen to when you had moved away, and I was depressed."
She looked at him sadly. "Aw why would you include a song like that?"
"Well it's part of our story. Just like Alison. I don't know why but I really connected to it when I was depressed. Well, ah, let's just listen to it and I'll tell the story behind why I chose it."
He pressed play on the cassette player. Giving her one last kiss he then leaned back some and looked at her as the music began paying.
