So it's the first day to my senior year and everything is off from the first time I arrived to town. Well maybe not everything but well after the hospital, after the I love yous. Things weren't able to get back to normal. Even though Jess had left. The baby, the baby was a huge thing for us to go through and I guess we couldn't surpass it. It's been a good month now since the break up. And thankfully she was able to go back to Chilton so at least high school is a Rory free zone. I know I should be sadder about this. But I saw the end coming. I was just holding onto something so tight that I guess I suffocated it. I don't regret anything. Everything that happened was meant to happen. The good, the bad and the...I lose my train of thought when I see her. I walk to her locker.

"Hey Lindsey"

"Dean"

"Look I'm sorry"

"Why don't you go back to Rory" she says as she slams her locker shut. Felt like she was trying to close a door at my face.

"I'm not with her anymore. We..we broke up"

"Are you just saying that?"

"No it's the truth"

"So what she dumped you and you think you can just crawl back to me?"

"No it's not like that at all"

She sighs and bites her lip. "Wanna walk me to class?"

"Yeah I'd like that" I smile back at her.

Maybe senior year will be better much better.

I stare at the clock it's almost lunch time. She's usually here around this time. Where is she? Since the hospital we have been together most if not all the time. And I thought I would hate it but somehow I miss her. She makes me happy. I haven't been happy in let's just say a long time. I don't know I think she might I might well we might do the whole grow old have a golden retriever thing. Though I despise dogs. Any pets are useless and smelly for that matter. I finally hear the bell ring for the dinner door. I turn around "Hey"

"Hey were you waiting for me?"

"No"

"Liar" she says with a smile and reaches across the counter to give me a kiss. "So the dance marathon is coming up and I need a partner"

"Oh no"

"But Luke your partner for life and as such you have required duties" I couldn't help but smile. Partner for life...

Somehow Paris was able to make me vice president of student council and I was not looking forward to it. At all. I actually wasn't really as excited as a senior should be on their last year. I couldn't shake off the sadness, the sadness was what drove me to resent Dean leading to the undeniable break up that should've happened before the whole ordeal. As I sit there in my literature class and try to focus. I hear my teacher say "Class I'd like for you to welcome the newest student to Chilton. He comes from a very prestigious family. His father owns post of the newspapers in the eastern coast. This is Logan Huntzberger. You may take a seat behind Miss Gilmore"

I couldn't help but notice his smile as he takes the seat behind me and says "Don't mind me apparently all I am is the son of a mogul. His papers aren't even that popular"

I try not to chuckle. And begin to think maybe this year wouldn't be so bad.
