I was kinda taking the summer off from writing and I camped a lot so no internet or computer to use. Thanks to all of you who have put up with me this long! I love you all! BTWs Even though I love you (don't get me wrong) I would appreciate it if you would not leave the same comment for every chapter! Still, reviews are always welcome!
They spent hours looking for Edward but couldn't find him.
"Where'd could he have gone? He wasn't attacked was he?" asked the concerned Kagome.
"Ed is fine." That was the first time Alphonse had spoken since his brother had wandered off. "He's very strong."
"But Al," Sango said, "he didn't really seem himself when he left."
The chimera whined. Ever since Ed knocked Nina out, she seemed to have gained her sanity.
"He will be fine" Al repeated, patting Nina on the head.
Nobody looked convinced.
"He will be! He will come back and we'll start looking for a way to get back to normal again! I know he will!" He said, though it sounded like more to convince himself than the others.
They turned to go look somewhere else, when Ed jumped out of a tree and landed neatly in front of them.
"Brother!" Al cried with relief.
"Where the hell have you been, you lit-" InuYasha started.
"Shhhh." Ed cut him off, "You guys might want to come see this, and be quiet."
Nina followed a ways behind on the ground and watched as they took the path through the trees that Ed had taken and soon came to an opening in the thick woods.
"What the... what the hell is this?" Miroku whispered.
"It looks like Nina isn't the only thing that Naraku had managed to get a hold of."
There were three beings there. All dressed in black and Ed and Al recognized them.
"What's with those guys there?" InuYasha said only barely keeping his vice low enough so the trio and Naraku won't hear. "Why are we all sneaking around? They don't look so tough."
"Shut up." Ed mouthed and Kagome put her finger to her lips at Inuyasha and made a small Shhhhhhh sound. InuYasha was quiet.
So he listens to her, huh. Ed observed and was slightly surprised because InuYasha didn't seem like the type to listen to anyone.
They continued to watch as one of the people in black, one who was very fat, frowned and put his finger in his mouth. They could hear his stomach rumbling all the way from their tree.
"Lust, I'm hungry!" He complained. "There are so many smells here. Can't I go look for something to eat?"
"Later Gluttony," Said the beautiful one with long black hair. "We have to listen to him first, and then decide whether it's worth keeping him alive." An evil smile crossed her flawless face.
Lust? Gluttony? Kagome thought. Why such strange names? Or maybe they're nicknames?
"Hey, Edward? Alphonse? Are you guys ok?" Sango asked, concerned because Edward was as pale as a ghost and stopped breathing and Al's metal body was shaking.
They gave no reply. Only continued gazing at the beings in black.
"Man. I am sooooo bored! If he's not here soon, I say Gluttony goes and finds him and eats him for making us wait!" said the last one in black. This one had weird hair that reminded Kagome of palm fronds.
The one named Lust sighed. "You know we can't do that, Envy. We were ordered to meet this one and come here to decide if we can use him."
"Yah, and we're the ones that would have to pay the consequences if he does turn out to be useful and anything happens to him."
Envy sighed, "Screw this job!"
"Now I am offended, dear homunculus." Naraku came into the clearing, wearing his baboon skin.
"What the heck is a homunculus?" Kagome whispered under her breath to Ed and Al.
"Tell you later." Al whispered back while the older brother just continued staring at the scene in front of him.
"Look who decided to show up!" Screamed a sarcastic Envy.
"So sorry, but I follow my own schedule." Naraku said just as sarcastically back.
They watched from their tree as the homunculus lost its temper and made a twenty foot crater with their fists.
Shippo cowered behind Sango in fear. "How did that guy do that?"He spoke in a trembling voice.
"Monsters" Edward glared at the ones in black. "You want to know what a homunculus is, they're monsters."
"You mean demons?" InuYasha asked.
"No. Demons die when you kill them. These will keep regenerating and coming back to life."
"So they're like Naraku?" Miroku guessed. "Fed their bodies to a bunch of demons and now are demons themselves?"
"No, we don't have demons where we come from. These are monsters with inhuman abilities and are almost like a living doll, lacking a soul."
"That's creepy."Kagome muttered and InuYasha looked at her with concern.
"I think it's time we head back now." Inu said.
"Wait" Al and Ed whispered in unison.
Whatever the rest of their story is, it must have something to do with those homunculus guys Kagome thought.
"I should tell you that the state alchemist that you are so fond of is here." Naraku said to the trio.
"So your saying the full metal pip-squeak is here?" Envy was still furious and was carelessly knocking over small trees while he talked.
"Envy, don't destroy the whole forest." Lust said without concern.
"Yes, and he has stolen my chimera." Naraku said, ignoring Envy's obvious rage. "Now about what I have in mind in regards to this philosophers stone you're after."
"Lust! Lust!" Gluttony started pulling at Lust's arm. "I smell something!"
The group in the tree froze. No one had realized that the wind had shifted.
"Run!" Ed called while Al grabbed Shippo and Kirara changed form. Miroku and Sango jumped aboard and Al threw Shippo up onto Kirara's head.
They flew into the air, and managed to get out of sight.
Ed looked at Alphonse. "Come on! Now's our chance to get some answers out of the bastards!" They jumped out of the tree and landed on the ground below. Up ahead Gluttony eyes had glazed over in hunger and he was sniffing the air. All of a sudden, he sharply turned in their direction and lunged.
Edward and Alphonse braced themselves and Edward, quickly clapping his hands, transmuted his arm into a sword.
Just as Gluttony was about to land, a streak of light appeared, hitting him where his heart would be. The area on Gluttony's body where the light pierced him evaporated into the air.
"Kagome!" Al shouted and Edward looked to see where the light had appeared from. Kagome was there holding a bow and perched on top of InuYasha's back. Judging by how she held the bow, Ed guessed that she had just released an arrow.
"How did you DO that?!" He called over to her.
"I have the powers of a priestess" she answered, as if that was supposed to make sense to the Elric brothers.
Edward and Alphonse decided to save the questions for later.
The Elric's looked over at Gluttony. He didn't appear to be healing. What? Ed thought. Why isn't the fat bastard using his healing powers? Could it be because of that black-haired girl that he can't heal?
He looked back at Kagome in wonder. What kind of powers DID a priestess possess?
"Hmmmmmm" Lust went over to Gluttony. Looking down at the fat homunculus who was crying and holding his chest where the arrow had struck him, she sighed and picked him up. "We will see you later, Fullmetal Alchemist." And she took off with a pissed off Envy yelling behind her, complaining that he didn't get to fight. Naraku followed after them.
"Naraku!" InuYasha yelled, chasing after him.
Naraku released a strong wall of miasma that stopped InuYasha from following.
Edward flexed his arm. It seemed a little stiff. He pulled out a small oil can and started to work at his fake limbs.
"Aren't you going to follow them?!" InuYasha said, clearly pissed off at the lack of concern that Edward was showing.
"If I've learned one thing in life, it's that these kind of things will always find me again, whether I chase after them or not." He said, without making eye contact.
InuYasha huffed and turned away. "Come on, Kagome! Let's go find the others now."
But as Kagome looked back, she noticed that Edwards hands were shaking and he pulled out a wrench.
Just a side note for you readers. I did use themes from FMA and FMAB. I kinda want to keep the idea that the homunculus are created from failed human alchemy and I want to keep the idea of Truth and Father.

Now that I'm home I will probably (though don't hold me to it) update more often.
