Author's Note: No, I don't know what Mori Mori means in Japanese. I just liked the way it sounds. Hoepfully, it doesn't mean something like "Fluffy Bunny".

Three shurikens hit a log, each knocking the previous one out of the way. The thrower launched themselves high into a tree, hung upside down from a branch and threw five kunai's successively a foot below where the shuriken was embbed into the wood.

Itachi released the chakra hold his feet had on the branch and gracefully landed on the ground, thirty feet below. He was just starting to gather his weapons when he heard a loud shriek from the next training area. At first he thought nothing on it. It was normal for people to shriek in anger when they missed their target or messed up a jutsu. But something didn't feel right. It was to quiet now. No loud grunting or shouting. No foul words.

Leaving his weapons where they lay, Itachi quickly hurried over to the next training area. Someone sat on the ground with their back to him. They were doubled over, and it looked like they were holding one of their legs. As he got closer, he realized it was the new girl from class.

"Mishi?"

She turned to look over her shoulder at him. Her face was covered in sweat and was visibly losing color. Worried, he walked around her to look at her leg. There was a large snake bite a few inches above her right ankle.

"Crap." Itachi quickly pulled off his wraps from his legs, grabbed one of Mishi's kunai that lay on the ground and used them as a tourniquet to cut off blood flow.

"Mori Mori..." Mishi gasped, leaning her head on her knee.

Itachi cringed, then created a shadow clone. Mori Mori's were rare, fast, and the second most poisonous snake in the Land of Fire. And because they were so rare, there was basically no antivenom unless you caught the snake and kept it alive. Once it was dead, it's venom began to deteriate in the glands and you had to work fast to have enough to treat anyone with it.

Itachi 's clone knelt down and began to suck the venom out of the wound. He couldn't do it himself because his body would absord the venom, and then, they'd both be screwed. Itachi activated his sharigan to look for the large, black snake.

He found it, twenty yards away by the target dummies. The snake reared its triangular head and hissed at him. Itachi reacted quickly, sealing it within a storage scroll.

He leaped back over to MIshi, and released his clone. It vanished in a poof of smoke. Mishi was leaning on her good knee, and looked just this side of death. Knowing he didn't have time to find help, he lifted her and propped her up on his back. She was nearly half a foot taller than him and a few years older, but luckily, he worked on his strength every day. Sending chakra into his legs to help support both their weight and aid in speed, he rushed to the hospital.

Mishi awoke to an annoyed beeping sound. She tried to lift her head but something on her face wouldn't let her. Groggily, she opened her eyes to the blaring white room. The evening sun was peeking out from below the curtains on the window.

"Unnhh..."

"Mishi?! Oh, thank Kami!" Gai's relieved face leaned over her. His eyes were red like he'd been crying. He pressed his forehead to hers before hugging her head. Then, he ran out the door, hollaring for a nurse.

MIshi squinted at the pain his loud screams sent splintering throughout her head. She looked over to her left where a heart rate machine and IV bag were stationed. She removed the oxygen mask from her face and tried to sit up, but her right leg cramped on her, sending her back down. Gai returned with a red headed nurse in tow.

Gai was a bundle of nerves, unable to stand still. The nurse just shook her head at him, then walked over to Mishi's bed.

"Hello, dear. How are you feeling?"

MIshi opened her mouth to speak, but her throat was too dry. So, she just made slight gasping noises.

The nurse gave her a sheepish look. "I'm sorry. I should have know better, given what you went through." She walked to the small table against the wall and poured some water from the pitcher. She added a straw and brought the cup over for Mishi. Gai helped Mishi lean up to drink while the nurse guided the straw to Mishi's mouth. "Take sips. I know you want to chug it, but it'll just make your stomach cramp.

Mishi did as instructed, and when she was satisfied, she sighed contently. Gai fluffed her pillows before laying her back.

The nurse smiled, "Better?"

Mishi gave the woman a small smile, "Yes, arigatou."

Gai pulled a chair up to the bed and held her hand. "Are you ok? Do you hurt anywhere?" He snapped his head around to look at the nurse, "Hurry! Get her some medicine for pain."

"Gai-Otou...!" Mishi cringed as his shout went through her head again.

"Gai, chill. Kami, I can hear you from down the hall."

They turned to see Kakashi, leaning in the door frame. He moved aside to let Itachi walk in.

"Itachi?"

"Hm." He inclined his head to her. "You seem to be doing better. Actually have some color to you now."

"Color? Wait, what happened? The last thing I remember was practicing my stamina drills."

"Really?" The nurse made a note on her clip board, then moved the blanket on her leg to look at the area that had cramped on her.

Mishi leaned to her side to get a better look. As she saw the bandage wrapped around her calf, the blood seeping through it, and the deep purple bruise coming out from under the top, Mishi felt her lungs seize up. "Uh, what the-?!"

Itachi walked up to her and patted her arm. "Don't worry. You won't lose the leg. They got it all."

"Got all of what?"

"Mori Mori venom." The nurse said as she replaced the blanket.

"Oph," Itachi said, sarcastically. "There goes her color again."

"Who saved me? I mean, I was training alone. And it takes like what? An hour before the venom kills you?"

Kakashi tilted his head down, "Who do you think?"

Mishi looked at Itachi, shocked. He just shrugged at her. "It was nothing. I mean, you could lay off the dangos, but still."

He easily ducked the pillow she tossed at him.
