Chapter Ten:
Promise & Worry
"Come on Sakura!" Naruto said as he ran ahead of her "I have a good prank in mind before Leo comes!" He said with a smile on his face as they both stopped running. "You do know Leo isn't going to fall for your pranks, if he manages to see it coming every time," Sakura told Naruto as he was looking around. Sakura crossed her arms and took a deep breath. "Aha!" Naruto said as he looked in a direction and quickly went to work for his prank. After a minute or two he stood up with a wide grin on his face "All finished!" he said. After waiting a while the two kids finally saw Leo running to them. "Finally! Geez what takes you so long!" Naruto told him as Leo only laughed. "Oh nothing, just had something to do before coming here" he said with his hand on his hip. "Hmp, your starting to sound like Kakashi-sensei," Sakura said as she walked up to the guys, "Well then now that your here lets go shall we?"
Sasuke was walking around the village when he reconizged a familar voice. Better put voices, he looked to his side to see Naruto and Sakura with a guy he seen before but haven't really met yet. They were all laughing together as they were walking his way.
"Man if I could i would stay here a little longer but I am needed back at my village" Leo said as they were walking "But oh well being a medic is a job you don't really take a break from." Leo finished saying. "Yeah, yeah," Naruto said while walking with his arms crossed. "Ah come on Naruto cheer up!" Sakura said "You still upset that the prank ended up on you?" she said trying not to laugh at the memory of Naruto running around with a bucket on his leg trying to get it off. "It was fool proof!" Naruto said. "Well isn't this ironic" Leo said as he gave off a smile laugh "the one time I didn't see your prank coming it ended up being on you" Leo finished as he bust out laughing. While Naruto started to mumble to himself Leo noticed a boy watching them. "Hm do you know this boy Sakura-sama?" Leo asked. "huh?" Sakura said she looked forward and saw Sasuke. They stopped "Hello Sakura," Sasuke said as she said hi back. "Sakura-sama you know him?" Leo asked again. "Sakura-sama?" Sasuke said a bit surprised. "Don't tell me you didn't know that Sakura is the head of the Haurno clan?!" Naruto yelled out at Sasuke. "If I did then I wouldnt be asking, now would I?" He replied putting his hands into his pockets. "Uhh.. well if you actually listen or at least paid attention to us then you would've of known! Instead all you care about is your dumb revenge!"
"Ah so you must be Sakura-sama's other team mate" Leo said with a smile "Sasuke Uchiha, Correct?". Sasuke looked at Leo and nodded. "Oh well Im Leo Haruno, from the village of Sound." Sasake blinked "Well that explains why I haven't seen you much before." Leo nodded "Yeah, and to be in fact I'm leaving today at sunset." Leo took a deep breath. It's going to a long journey." Sasuke just watching the guy as Leo looked at the sky. "Well then, I was a pleasure to meet you Uchiha, but we got to go if we are going to do anything before I depart" Sasuke nodded. "Alright then i'll you two later," then he just walked away.
"Well then lets go" Leo said as they started to walk. They all went to the marketplace to pick up a few things Leo needed before leaving the village. After an hour of shopping they all sat down on a park bench. Sakura left them to go back and get something she needed and was going to return in a little bit. So til then Naruto and Leo waited for her. "Hey Naruto" Leo said. "Hm, Yeah?" He replied. Leo looked over and took a deep breath before speaking "Do you like Sakura-sama?". Naruto jumped at the sudden question "What?! I-" he was cut off by Leo smiling. "Ah! so you do!" he smiled more "Well then now I leave more clam now" Naruto with a red face spoke "What do you mean?". Leo leaned forward while sitting and put on a smile "Well since the Chunin Exams start tomorrow, I can go and keep doing my job knowing that in case something happens I know you'll do what you can to protect her, that's all" Leo looked at Naruto who only blinked at him. "Please tell me that you'll wacth over her? At least til she has confidence in her fighting skills." Naruto stood silent for a minute before standing in front of Leo "Of Course I will! Don't you worry about that! I wouldn't let anybody lay a finger on her!" He put his hand on his headband "Believe it!" Leo laughed and nodded. "Good," he said "You know Naurto, if you keep this up the clan may just consider you as a possible husband" he said a bit teasing. Naruto just got redder "Hey, Hey, Hey What's that supposed to mean?!" he yelled back.
"Don't try to hide it, Naruto," Leo said "I knew you had a crush on Sakura-sama when you were little" he gave off a small laugh. "If you knew then why you ask!" Naruto spoke loudly. Leo crossed his arm and closed his eyes and with one eye open looking at Naruto he said "Just making sure...". Naruto stood silent as Leo once again started to bust out laughing. "Now that's just mean, Leo" Naruto said crossing his arms. After a minute of watching Leo laugh Naruto spotted Sakura coming there way. "Sorry if took long," she said as she crossed her arms and took a deep breath. Then they all left the park and before they knew it... Sunset had come and it was time for Leo to leave.
"I'll miss you Sakura-sama," Leo said as he gave her a hug. "I'll will too Leo," Sakura said as she let go "hey this is for you" Sakura said as she got out a box that was wrapped up, "It might come in handy on the trip" she said as she gave it to Leo. "Thank you Sakura-sama" Leo said as he put it away. He looked at Naruto. "Hey Naruto," he said. "Yeah, Leo?". Leo gave off a smile and said "About before, I actually wanted you to promise me," he crossed his arms. Naruto shot up "Of Course I do! What do you take me for? An Idoit?" Leo started to laugh. "So you admit! Finally" Leo said as Naruto tried to understand what Leo meant. "Well, I best get going" Leo said as he took a step back, "I'll visit every chance I get okay?" Sakura and Naruto both nodded. "We'll be waiting!" Sakura said as the two kids started to wave good-bye at Leo.
Leo who was almost out of sight, stopped and turn to wave back at them. Then he continued the trip that he didn't really like or want to make. He felt that he would've been happier and safer in the Leaf Village. But he being born in the Sound Village wont let him. Besides he wasn't born into the Haruno Clan. He was adopted when he was a month old. But even so he was proud to be in the clan and with that in mind he kept walking forward ignoring the feeling that this was going to be his last trip.
