Chapter 7: Anime Expo Pt. 2

Glitch's POV

Everyone was huddled together in the corner of one of the hallways at the hotel. We were all tired after dancing to our favorite hits, I was surprised how flawless the old geezer did with Taye. Mo and McCoy came back with the drinks and snacks everyone wanted. We chilled for the longest time, what caught my eye was Oblio's constant gazing around the room, like he was looking for someone.

I got up and walked towards him, " Hey man, what ya looking for?" He was surprised since he didn't expect someone to be standing next to him.

He looked at me as if he was thinking should he say something or not. He then kneeled down next to me, " Don't tell anyone, especially my dad. But I've invited someone from his company, he doesn't know she's coming." He whispered next to me.

" Wait it's a woman. Is she old and wrinkly like your pops, cause man, imagine those two under the sheets." I said with hidden laughter.

Oblio knocked him in the head, " Be quiet, I don't want any of them to hear this."

We both stood in silence as Oblio surveyed the place. His phone was buzzing from a text and he would reply right away.

After about fifteen minutes of waiting, he spotted her across the way and quickly sent her text to look in his direction. I looked in awe at the woman, she was fairly young looking, with crimson red hair, dark skin, curvy, and she smiled like goddess as she walked towards them.

" Nice to see you again Oblio and who is this handsome young man?" She asked.

" This is one of my friends' protégé Glitch. Glitch this is Aisha, she's one of the women who works for my father and also somehow has a crush on him." Oblio introduced and explained.

" Hold on you like bag of bones over there? There has to be a catch, no young woman in her mind would like him, you gotta be what 55 underneath all that makeup?" I was shocked that someone actually had a thing for Tan.

" You're so cute and no I'm not 55, I'm 34." My jaw dropped and he could have sworn that it was headed out the door.

Oblio's POV

I tried to get Glitch's attention for us to head back to the others. But I somehow broke him and Aisha and I just went alone.

We walked over to everyone else, they were all on their own devices and chatting up a storm. My father was in his own little world reading a book about ancient Japanese and Chinese civilizations, no one noticed us come.

I cleared my throat to get everyone's attention, mostly everyone. They all looked at me with their mouths hanging open and knew they were going to come at me with a barrage of questions. Before I could say anything Aisha was the first of us to speak. " Good afternoon everyone, my name's Aisha and it's nice to finally meet Oblio's friends. I hope Tan has been nice to you all." She greeted with a smile and if it was physically possible I watched all their mouths grow more. They all turned their heads to my father, and just by impulse of someone staring he looked up at the rest of us and then his eyes met with Aisha.

" Good afternoon sir." Aisha said as she made a slight bow with her head. My father didn't really know what to say about her sudden appearance, he just sat that there fixated on us. Aisha walked over to him, kneeled down and grabbed his book to see what he was reading.

" Interesting choice of literature, ancient civilizations always fascinated me. But you already knew that, from our private chats at work." She handed him back the book and sat down next to him. I can see him blushing from her presence and the way she leaned closer to him to look at the page he was on.

Third Person POV

Everyone looked at the strange woman sitting next to Tan and back to Oblio still with shocking looks on their faces.

Before he knew it, they stormed towards Oblio and moved a bit away from the surprising sight.

The first to ask was Taye, " Okay this is weird, who is that woman and why is she all over oldie like a high school girl?"

Everyone nodded with agreement and waited for Oblio to answer.

" It's a long story, but this was a woman that's been working for my father for quite some time. I would say about her second year in college and she applied to be an intern, after graduation she stayed at the studio for good. It's weird because her major was in architect."

Mo was the next to ask his question, " So what's the deal with her and your father. I mean isn't it weird, even Tan had the look of surprise when she spoke and I saw him blush a little when she sat by him."

Next Jaryn put her two cents in, " It's creepy if you ask me, not even if I was desperate I wouldn't go for him."

They all chuckled at her, knowing that even if that was the case, she be the last anyone would want to be with.

" Well, you all never met my mother before. She passed away when I was really young and my dad was the one to take care of me. It was hard on both of us, but it got worse as I got older. There were times where I picked up a few characteristics like my mom and that set him off really bad, he began to avoid me everyday and at the time I didn't know why. Flash forward a few more years and she becomes his intern, she was getting paid for it and the benefits he was giving for an intern were good. They somehow connected and I've never seen him that happy." Oblio explained.

Lima thought it was her turn to ask, " So what happened, if he was so happy was he you know going after us?"

That was a question they all wanted to ask, " Both her parents died in an accident about 4 years ago and she had to go take care of her younger siblings. I guess with her being gone for so long, it somewhat hurt him, but he let her go. Understanding what it's like to lose someone you hold dear. And he declined back to being bitter and hateful."

Even with the explanation it still shocked them that someone was actually interested in him. They all eyed Tan and Aisha's direction and she was happily poking him and he was just letting her do it. If it was anyone of them he would lash out and do some horrible thing to them.

" Maybe we should go back over there before they know we're talking about them." Suggested Angel.

" Yeah, maybe we can actually go somewhere and get some food. I'm starving." Agreed Glitch.

They went back to their original spot, when Aisha looked up to them and said, " Hey guys, I haven't eaten since I landed so how bout we go eat somewhere?" She asked.

Everyone agreed and the matter was actually finding a place to eat within everyone's budget. But Aisha put that aside and suggested they pick somewhere nice and she wanted to do it because Oblio was the one to contact her and pay for her ticket to come. It was the least she could do and even though she was away from her job for so long Tan was still paying her.

They agreed to go to this seafood restaurant a block down from the convention center, it was not too fancy and not to we'll just say atrocious.

They all ordered their drinks and food. Everyone was listening in on Tan and Aisha's conversation still in awe at the encounter.

" Have you been doing well the past few years? I'm really sorry that I had to leave, I was actually planning on going back but there was still so much to do back at home. I'm really an grateful you even kept paying me, it helped a lot and I wanted to say that I'm coming back to Central City. I hope you have a lot of work piled up for me." She said it all with such an innocent smile.

" I'm really am glad to hear that, but what about your siblings I know one hasn't even finished school yet." He asked.

" Well, that one will be moving with me, I already found us a place to stay. The other three are now in college, but I plan on having them transfer somewhere in Central City and move in with me. It's been getting really dangerous in New Jersey and I don't want my brothers being around that type of violence. But enough about me, what has been going on with you and Oblio. I never take you to be hanging around with a bunch of teens." She said.

" I could say the same for you," Sassed Glitch, but Mo punched him in the arm. " Please ignore him."

They did and Tan turned back to Aisha, " Let's just say things have been pretty adventurous for all of us. It all lead up to this moment, me being stuck with these fools the whole summer. To be honest, I'm ecstatic you're here and so is Oblio, I really can't wait for you to start working back at the office. Some of the other workers have been pretty down since you left as well, so they'll also be happy of your return."

Their conversation went on throughout dinner, since the sun was starting to set, they drove back to the beach house to relax. They all sat in the living room and watched movies all night, Aubrey falling asleep next to Angel on the chair, Taye and Mo sleeping on the floor along with Emilia and Bodie, Glitch and Lil T. slept in one of the couches closer to the tv, Jaryn and Kerith on the other couch and Lima and Rasa on the sofa, along with Aisha sleeping on Tan's shoulder. They all slept peacefully that night, with a new companion and possible couple the rest of the summer would be another adventure.

I can't believe it's been so long since I updated this story. High school became more of the pain to deal with and then next was college. But I finally got the next chapter up, I'm a bit rusty for this story and hope to be a bit better in later chapters.
