Maura lays stretched out on the couch, holding a note pad and pencil while Jane is preparing something in the kitchen about ten feet away.
"What about Bernhard?"
"Hello No!"
"Wha-? Whats wrong with Bernhard?"
"It sounds like a dogs name."
"You're impossible to satisfy."
"Just depends on how you're trying to satisfy me." Jane said with an implying tone.
Maura rolled her eyes and continued crossing off names she had written down on a legal pad. There had been 6 names x'd out on her her side of the page and about 9 crossed from Jane's.
"Eathan?"
"Nope."
"Christopher?"
"Not hot on that one either."
"Well what name are you 'hot on'?" Maura said, starting to become a little agitated.
"Hey now!" Jane said coming to the back of the couch with a plate in hand. "There's no reason to get testy." The brunette said handing the plate down to her pregnant wife.
Setting aside the notepad to take the offered plate, Maura wistfully looked at her food and then set it next to the notepad on the coffee table.
"You're not hungry anymore?" Jane asked with concern as she rounded the couch to sit next to her wife."
With a deep breath Maura replied. "Sorry about raising my voice. It's the all these hormones." She said gesturing to her body.
"Honey, you don't have to apologize to me." Jane said leaning over and taking one of her wife's hands. "Is everything ok? Did you not want a sandwich? I can make you something else."
"No, no, the sandwich is great! It was a lovely gesture, thank you. I just suddenly feel nauseated by the smell of poultry." Maura said with a sour grimace.
"Ah!, so it's you!" Jane said nestling herself on her stomach between Maura's legs.
Maura was about four months along in her pregnancy, her stomach just recently starting to give away her secret. Her shirt had ridden up a little, exposing the soft ivory skin beneath. Skin that the detective was now face to face with.
Jane brought her lips closer to her wife's belly and began to speak. "I made your mother a good, perfectly healthy meal for the both of you and you are refusing to eat it."
Maura frustrations melted away as she watched her wife's expression change from one of annoyance to blissful joy.
"We're gonna get along great!" The brunette says, her smile so sincere that her dimples show.
"Hey what about William?" Jane suggests, perking her head up.
"William?"
"Yeah! I mean it's an old name, it's got good meaning to it. Lot's of interesting people have had it. Poets, Presidents, Scientists!"
" I love you." Maura whispers with a warm smile.
"Does that mean you like it?" Jane asks with a smirk.
Maura nods as her wife closes the distance for a kiss. Tender and full of love they kiss until the silence in the room is broken by a cry in the distance.
"MAMA!" Is heard coming from down the hallway.
"Guess who's up from her nap?" Maura says amused.
"Ugh, she was suppose to be asleep for another hour." Jane halfheartedly whines as she pushes herself up from hovering over her wife. "Mama's coming, baby!"
Maura watches until Jane disappears from her view, she smiles as she reaches over to her notepad to write down "William Rizzoli-Isles".
A/N: I know this one was super short.
I'm not on top of my writing game.
Hope you enjoy it anyway.
