Caroline touches the fancy dresses that are stretched on the bed, she picks up one and presses it against her body.
She dreams of the day that she will own something this pretty and wonders if red is her color, she knows that Klaus likes red.
"You should try it…" Rebekah says from the threshold.
Caroline jumps startled. "I'm so sorry Rebekah…" She immediately puts the dress back on the bed. "I shouldn't be doing this… I'm sorry, I'll just put them away like my mother asked."
"Wait…" Rebekah asks with a warm smile and comes near the young girl.
Caroline blushes because she was here to clean Rebekah's room and not to touch her things. "I got distracted with all the beautiful dresses… they are all so pretty Rebekah."
The other blonde smiles, she's only a year younger than Caroline but they look worlds apart, her family has money and that's why she always looks so flawless in her bright colourful dresses and her curly hair unlike Caroline, whose beauty is hidden under the simple grey dress.
"I was serious… you can try one of them if you want to."
Caroline's eyes lighten up. "Are you serious Rebekah?"
She nods. "I don't mind it at all, you can try every dress that I have and even keep one for yourself if you wish. I have too many anyway." She shrugs.
Caroline giggles nervous but drops the pretty dress when she hears the heavy footsteps on the way to the bedroom, the awful man is home.
"Are you talking instead of cleaning?" he stops annoyed by the door and with a heavy drunk voice.
"I was on my way to put these dresses in the closet, Mr Mikaelson." Caroline's answers without looking at Mikael.
He hiccups and comes inside of the room, he cups Rebekah's face with a smile. "Let the girl do her job Rebekah."
"You are drunk again father." she says and pulls away from him, moving closer to Caroline.
Caroline isn't afraid of him, she knows that he has naughty hands that try to touch her when they are alone but she doesn't like the disgusting look that he is giving his own daughter. "I'm almost done here Rebekah, you should go and see if my mother needs help with dinner." She tries to send the other away to safety.
Mikael grabs Caroline's arm mad. "Are you telling my daughter what to do?"
Caroline shakes her head. "No sir…" she whimpers because he's hurting her.
Mikael isn't convinced and gets his hand in the air ready to slap the poor girl, Rebekah stops him by grabbing his big hand with both of her tiny ones.
"Don't father, don't hurt her."
Mikael shoves his daughter away furious and she bumps against her iron bed, she holds back the flinch as the pain rips through her delicate side.
Caroline looks at the man fiercely, she knows that he is going to slap her until she bleeds but she keeps it together and even defies him with a long stare.
"What's going on in here?"
The two girls smile as they recognize the deep voice echoing now inside of the room.
"Nik." Rebekah rushes to his side at once.
He soothes her with a brush of her arm and then looks at the vile man still holding Caroline's arm so strongly.
"Let her go father."
Mikael smiles and wipes his drunk drool with the back of his hand. "I might just teach this one how to respect me, since none of you useless pricks does."
Rebekah touches Klaus' shoulder, urging him to do something.
"Let go of her now or I will make you throw up blood for the rest of the week."
Mikael laughs slowly. "Look at that… the insolent son who doesn't need my money wants to teach me a lesson now."
"That's right, I don't need anything from you and I'm not afraid of you either."
"You are still living under my roof." he says with spit coming out in every direction.
Klaus presses his jaw mad. "Maybe I should just leave since I just turned 18."
"No Nik… please…" Rebekah says clutching to him in panic.
Elijah comes up the stairs and joins the group concerned with the tension inside. "Is there a problem in here? I can listen to the loud commotion from downstairs."
Mikael pulls an annoyed face and presses his lips together, one insolent bastard he can take, two and he might actually end up coughing blood.
He shoves the girl away and then leaves the room spitting on the ground, at least she will have work to do besides trying to sneak her way into a friendship with his precious daughter.
"Are you all right Caroline?" Klaus asks.
It takes her a second to assimilate that it is Klaus talking to her and not Elijah and that he actually knows her name, she only nods unable to speak and watches him smile and then turn to his sister fast.
He pulls her into his arms and she sniffles shielded in them, Caroline looks down ashamed that she envies Rebekah so much this instant.
Elijah helps her stand up and she resumes to her chores as the three siblings leave the room.
Caroline glances over to Klaus, she can't keep her eyes off him and she moves closer to the door and watches as he goes downstairs with Rebekah.
She stays hidden, marvelling her eyes upon his perfection, she has been secretly in love with him since she came to work with her mother and saw him laughing and talking in the bar with his friends.
She is only 15 now but she knows what she wants, she wants him and she will wait for him, no other will ever do for her and she will not rest until she is his.
Klaus kisses her neck slowly, he's also stroking the soft skin of her bare legs wrapped around him, it's hard to tame all the joy that he feels because she's finally back in his old bed, where they spent their first night together and so many others before they parted ways.
Caroline moans and strokes the hair in the back of his head loving that his lips are trailing her neck so heavenly, he pulls the collar of his white shirt down and kisses the soft skin on her shoulder.
"Nik…" she voices her bliss.
He smiles and pulls his lips away from her skin, searching for her mouth instead and they share a long kiss that pulls another moan from her.
He leans forward and Caroline moves to lie on the bed facing him.
"My beautiful demon."
She gives him a smouldering look and runs her fingertips along every inch of his skin, it sets him on a blaze.
"My bed has been empty and cold without you Caroline." he whispers as he opens the shirt that she's wearing, it's his shirt and he wants to feel the body under it.
She smiles that way that makes him want to rip his heart out because it hurts so much.
"My body has been hollow without your touch Nik…" she kisses the hand that is on her cheek.
He kisses her lips next but he's not to last there for long, he wants to be inside of Caroline and she's inviting with her ivory skin and her wonderful smile.
It's a powerful yet slow move but Caroline closes her eyes and adjusts under him, she lowers herself on the bed for a better angle and reaches out to grab the iron of his bed, they can be as loud as they want now and she's panting loudly with every push that makes the bed slam against the wall.
Her head is turned to the side and buried in his pillow, she waited so long to have him, then she lost him but now she doesn't intend to ever let him go.
Neither does Klaus who feels nothing but a gush of passion for the woman about to yell his name, he reaches for the iron as well, rolls his hips and hits her once hard, then when she's comfortable with it he keeps that pace, in the end Klaus is a sweet devil who knows too well what his demon likes.
"Let me see if I got this correctly, you want to buy all of our bootleg?" Kol asks with a narrow of his eyes.
Tyler touches his suit vest with a delay. "Yes, you see I know that you are already supplying more than half the city with it but I have big plans. I already bought a few other joints and I could use the gin and bourbon at a fairer price."
"I need to talk to my brothers but I don't feel comfortable selling you more than we did to Donovan."
Tyler throws a big chunk of money on the table to smugly prove his point. "That's just pocket dimes for me, my father owns this town's money and I could include you in the one of my schemes, your brothers don't even have to know about it. Your doll stays happy with all the shiny stuff that you can buy her and I'll give you a share of all my corners, in exchange for a few extra bottles."
Kol laughs amused, he takes his hat and leaves the table, the money and Tyler behind. "I'm not interested in your dimes. I'm a Mikaelson and we don't bow to anyone or betray the family. You should learn a thing or two about that before you go around throwing ideas like that."
He leaves the main floor and smiles at Bonnie who arrives with her coat ready to leave.
"Good night Tyler." she yells at her boss clueless to the talk.
Tyler bows his head and takes the drink in his hand, he watches as Kol helps his girl put her coat on and leave the Club.
After a few minutes another man comes in, his hat is twirling in his hand and he takes a seat at Tyler's table. "Did the kid fall for it?"
"No…" Tyler shakes his head. "He has all that loyalty towards his family, the fool." Tyler drinks another glass.
"We all have our loyalties." Connor says and takes the money.
Tyler taps his fingers on the table. "What are you going to do with that?"
"You don't get to ask questions here Lockwood, don't forget that I can shut this damn Club whenever I wish to and I can also pin Donovan's death on you."
"I didn't pull that trigger." Tyler says upset.
"Apparently no one did, not the Club's hot star, not the wet partner that opened the Club before the police even knew that Donovan wasn't warm anymore and certainly not the Mikaelson who claimed his gal as soon as Donovan turned into a corpse."
"Everyone had a beef with Donovan, he was a slimy bastard who slept around with every hot legs within his reach and pretended that he was the next leader of Chicago."
Connor pours a drink slowly and sips on the exquisite bourbon. "This town has too many leaders and pretty faces."
"Long coats and bulls as well." Tyler replies fast.
"Lockwood… play nice and everyone will be happy." Connor says enjoying the nice bootleg.
"Why are you so interested in the Mikaelsons anyway?"
Connor drops his empty glass with a dark smile on his lips. "They hold the biggest underground business in the country, it's such an oiled machine that their reputation is big all the way to Colorado."
"Isn't your job to try to pinch them?"
There is a big laughter that escapes his lips and Connor stands up. "Bringing them all to the bird house won't warm my pocket." he taps the money that he just took from Tyler.
Tyler isn't too happy with the new deal, he needs to do something about this before it gets out of hand, he wouldn't place the dirt on his shoe within Connor's reach let alone his money but he doesn't have much choice for now, Connor is slippery like a snake and he threatens to bite like one so Tyler needs to think well about his next step.
"What did Tyler want with you?" Bonnie asks as they make way to their house.
Kol tightens his arm around her shoulders and pulls her closer to him. "I'm not sure but the entire conversation was fishy and I need to speak to my brothers about it because I don't trust him at all." Suddenly he focus on her face. "Has he ever tried to be funny with you?"
Bonnie smiles and takes her hand from inside of her expensive coat and places it on his chest, she loves the feeling of a concerned boyfriend. "No and when he said that I looked flapper in my new dress I warned him that my man would break his legs if he tried to touch me."
Kol smirks. "Your man, huh?"
She slowly bats her black eyelashes and eyes him intensely with her intoxicating green eyes. "I have no problem using my Moll status if that will keep other men away."
"Nifty." he smirks.
They arrive to the street where they live and Jeremy is there waiting for Kol, Bonnie knows that she will be sleeping alone tonight and she's not that excited about it.
Kol kisses the hand that was on his chest. "Keep the bed warm for me gorgeous."
"Don't be too long, you know that I'm not used to sleeping in a bed so big and all by myself." she smiles.
"I'll be quick about the delivery but I still need to go see Nik and Elijah afterwards."
Bonnie is sneaky now that she knows how he feels about her and uses it, she traces his chest with two lazy fingers. "I'll be waiting for you…" she bites her bottom lip slowly. "… with no clothes on."
"Oh Bonnie that's just mean." He complains distraught. "How am I supposed to be swift on my feet now that you planted that image in my head?"
Her bright red lips twist into a naughty smile. "I know that you will find a way."
He comes near her lips and gently presses for a kiss, Bonnie quickly darts her tongue out wanting more and he pins her closer to him so that he can fully respond to her will.
It's a heated kiss that is able to warm the couple standing on the street during a freezing night in Chicago.
Bonnie strokes his back and wishes that there was a way to get her fingers inside of his shirt but she knows that she has to wait.
She cleans the red from his lips when they are done. "See you later, Sheik."
Kol winks at her and watches after her until she's safe in the house, on the way to the door she gives Jeremy a smile, one that he shyly returns before looking at Kol.
"That was some serious neck, you two don't know how to keep it on a low tune, do you?"
"Are you razing me out of envy?" Kol asks as he gets behind the wheel of the car.
Jeremy pushes his coat closer to his bones. "I need a girl."
Kol laughs at Jeremy's sad stance. "You need to learn how to handle your gin first."
Jeremy rolls his eyes, he isn't a kid anymore and one day they will see that.
Tyler checks the time in the gold watch strapped to his vest, it is early but he knows Room 21 is always open, he attempted to have some sleep but it's useless because his mind is busy with concern and he rather reach out to the Chicago Family than to his father.
He finds Elijah sitting at a table sipping on coffee and talks to him first. "Mind if I join you?"
"The coffee is cold but the bourbon is hot." Elijah says and closes his long newspaper, he invites Tyler to sit down with his hand.
Tyler rests his hat on the table and takes the offer.
Elijah snatches another cup for Tyler and eyes him wondering the reason behind the extremely early visit. "Not that I'm complaining… mornings around here are always very dawdling but what brings you here at sunrise?"
"I have a long coat problem." Tyler says gritting his teeth because the beverage is rough.
"Did you walk all the way here? I'd hate to call your visit a waste so I do hope you enjoyed the exercise." Elijah can hear a door opening.
Klaus joins the two of them with a bottle that he fetches straight from a box.
Tyler suddenly wonders if this was such a good idea, he is inside of a dark small room with two Mikaelsons. "He's not just my problem… he's going after you next." he points at Klaus.
Klaus easily smiles and lights one of his cigarettes. "I suppose that I'm not looking at the man who buried that silver in Donovan's chest."
Tyler gulps down the stuff inside of his mug. "I didn't kill my partner. He was a slimy deal but I wouldn't waste a bullet on him."
"Then why are you concerned with Connor? I'm not." Klaus motions his shoulders slightly, it's not a full shrug but it's close.
Tyler smiles at Klaus. "He's asking for rubies that I don't want to share with him."
"But you were willing to share them with our brother Kol." Elijah says whilst pouring some more bourbon for them.
So the kid didn't waste any time telling them about the proposal. "Connor set me out to do it, he wants a big share of all your profits in return for his silence and gracious looking away on all your beeswax. He was listening while I was trying to buy Kol's support."
Klaus takes his drink slowly. "Maybe we should have a nice talk to him. I mean, he's been in the city for a bit and he hasn't been properly introduced to Chicago yet."
Elijah smiles and opens his newspaper again, Tyler looks confused as the two brothers go quiet, this conversation is over and he has no idea if he has their support or not.
It's almost night and I rush down the street, her show is about to end and I don't want to miss it completely, I'm already late to see the goddess who sings lying on a piano.
I cross the street and order a car to stop, at the door a bouncer blocks me.
"The Club is full."
I frown. "Don't be an idiot and let me inside." I say and push my way in but the man stops me again.
I sigh mad. "Do you know who I am?"
The son of a piker gives me a sarcastic smile. "Inside of this joint there are no coppers or bulls, just men drooling over Miss Forbes and I'm the one who lets them in or not."
I press myself to him ready to take him down but maybe before I slam my head against his forehead I could just honey his hand, it's faster if I pull a green so I do it. "Maybe there's still room for one more drooling fool"
The security nods happy and takes the green. "Go around back, I don't want to get into trouble."
I'm not happy with the arrangement but Forbes' gams are worth it, I really can't wait to see her again so I run to the back alley, there's no one at the door and I quickly open it, I don't notice the shiv until it's crammed into my guts.
I cringe and hold on to the man stabbing me and try to see his face but he gets out of my hold and pushes me outside before I even measure his height, he closes the door on my face and when I look at my bloodied hand I know that this wasn't to kill me, it was a warning.
I go back to the front door but the bouncer is not the same as before.
"Where's the other one?" I hiss.
The man gives me a look. "What other one? I went to lose some water."
I can feel everything boiling inside of me. "Let me through."
"Are you bleeding?" he asks giving me a judging look on top of it all.
I shove him aside and make my way inside, the Club is packed and I see all the faces that I need to see.
All the Mikaelsons are here, Caroline and even that useless Stefan Salvatore is here.
"Are you all right?" A warm innocent voice asks next to me.
I look at the young girl with the blue eyes and the dark coal hair. "Sure."
She smiles. "You don't sound too well…"
I roll my eyes and go to the men's room to clean up, I grab a towel and press it on my wound, as I look at the mirror I get it together, I need to find out who did this.
Elena takes everything in with big curious eyes. "This is so different from our town."
Katherine laughs. "Our town? We barely have any music there, let alone all of this." she fixes her short straight bob.
"Are you enjoying Chicago?" Elijah asks her softly.
Elena smiles and pushes her velvet hat down her head to hide her shy eyes. "Yes… it's so different and alive."
"Unlike you…" Katherine sighs.
Elena is serious and takes a sip from her gin, she coughs and apologizes as a consequence.
The image makes Elijah smile but drives Katherine away from the table.
"She's embarrassed of me…" Elena says brushing her long hair with her fingers.
"She's a fool then." Elijah says determined.
Elena feels a rush of heat come over her face and touches it. "Elijah… will you dance with me? I haven't danced yet."
"Of course Elena…" Elijah reaches out his hand for her to take.
She drops her small purse on the table and takes his hand, it's warm and strong and she gulps down, she should have finished that drink after all.
"Elijah is dancing with Elena." Rebekah tells Kol happy.
Kol glances over to the dance floor. "He's dancing with a distance, who dances with a distance these days?" he protests.
"Elijah does." Rebekah sighs.
Kol rolls his eyes before looking away. "I bet that he won't even kiss her tonight."
Rebekah smiles and turns to face her younger brother, she gives him a huge smile.
"What?" he asks scared.
"How is everything with Bonnie?" she asks excited.
"The sex is amazing." he says slowly.
She huffs and shakes her head stealing his drink away. "Stop pretending that she's just like all the others."
Kol looks down and then at the girl easily talking with a bunch of pills. "She's… special."
"Uh! My brother is in l-o-v-e." she teases him laughing.
Kol also laughs. "It's not like that."
Rebekah laughs louder now. "Are you sure? Because you never stayed with a girl more than two nights in a row."
"How would you know that?" he asks annoyed.
"Because I know you." she points her finger at him.
"I see that this is making you all sappy." he says upset.
Rebekah nods but she isn't laughing now. "You deserve to be happy Kol… we all do."
He looks away from his sister but he is starting to believe that she is right.
"Stefan, I want to dance." Katherine rudely interrupts his talk with Klaus.
"Can it wait five minutes Kat?" he asks her sweetly.
She shakes her head with flair. "No."
Stefan looks at Klaus. "Can we finish this later then?"
"Not a problem, you should certainly leave before she shoots you down." Klaus tilts his head so that he can give Katherine a smile.
She does her best to give him a smile in return. "Drop dead Nik."
"There have been many failed attempts." he answers back.
She makes a repulsed face. "I wish that you stayed in New Orleans."
"I wish that my best friend had picked my sister as his wife."
Katherine clenches her teeth and shoots bullets with her eyes. "Dry up Nik."
"Always a fine elegant woman." he says only to push her further.
She makes a go at him but Stefan holds her down.
"Wow Kat… ok… let's all take a moment to breathe."
"I hate you." she throws at Klaus.
"Ummm… and I'm trying to look for an appalled expression here." he says with a smirk.
"Do something Stefan." she snaps at her husband.
Klaus looks at his friend amused, on his behalf he gives Klaus a judging look before grabbing Katherine and dragging her away, she tries to free herself a few times and has a spat with him right on the main floor.
Klaus is highly entertained by everything until Caroline shows up in her navy-blue dress and crossed arms.
"Yes sweetheart?" he asks her a bit on the defense.
"You need to move on from the fact that Stefan chose Katherine and that Rebekah chose Damon."
"And how well all of that turned out for them." he says with a grumpy expression.
She eases up on her scold and nears him to fix his tie. "Stefan loves Katherine."
"She's a Gold Digger and her dull boring sister is making a move on my virgin brother." Klaus scoffs.
Caroline giggles. "Elijah seems to like her a lot."
"He likes any woman who is able to read." Klaus clarifies with a drifting stare.
She touches his face and makes him look at her by gently turning his unshaven face to her. "Stop being judgy about the Pierce sisters."
"You are not the boss of me sweetheart." he says with a hint of a smile and a squint.
Caroline displays her killer smile and moves those big eyes down on his. "Are we sure about that?" she whispers in a velvet voice.
Klaus brings her closer to him and she runs her hand down his chest and all the way to his back, he can feel his excitement growing but he knows that she's about to shut him down because that's what Caroline does, she plays with him like he's a ragged doll.
He is about to kiss her, his breath is becoming one with hers when she rests her finger on his lips to stop it, she smiles wickedly and pulls away, his pack of cigarettes is in her hand now.
Klaus is confused but Rebekah arrives with two glasses of Gin and smiles.
"Girls' night Nik…"
He slumps in his seat watching Caroline giving fire to one of the cigarettes and accepting a drink from Rebekah, the two of them make a toast and laugh, they wave at Klaus and go have their little private celebration.
They smoke, dance and drink like they are the main attraction and the truth is that all eyes are on the two breathtaking blondes who share old stories and laugh until they cry.
Klaus should be upset that he was traded for his sister tonight but he loves seeing his two girls happy and it is enough for him that Caroline will glance at him occasionally with all that love in her eyes, he watches them dance until they get tired and spends his time drinking with Kol who is waiting for Bonnie to end her shift.
They are all busy watching the blondes stealing the night, Katherine fighting with Stefan and then kissing him like he is made of chocolate.
They share comments on Elijah's tactics to smooth his way with Elena, knowing that there won't be any romantic developments tonight.
Everyone is busy, too busy to notice Connor clutching a wound that he will digest with sweet cold slow revenge and more importantly to notice the man who sits in the back, away from every set of eyes.
The man with a dark coat and dark hat strategically covering his face and his blue eyes that don't leave Rebekah all night.
