One day during the off season, Harry came in to the kitchen. "Mom, can I ask you something?"

"You know you can ask me anything." Lillith answers, looking at her now nine-year-old adopted son.

"Well I'm seeing the other moms in my school look older but you and uncle Nicky look just about the same."

Lillith froze before sighing, "I suppose you're old enough to know when to keep your mouth shut."

"What do you mean, mom?" Harry asked with a look of confusion.

Lillith didn't answer but just waved Harry out the back door, she led the way toward a family cemetery.

Harry stopped at the edge of the plots; he never liked going near the small cemetery.

"These are my family's grave plots; I have managed the upkeep on them for years." Lillith answers, she went along to one grave and shook her head, "I have left this one to rot away with time." She gave a smile, "there is no one buried within this plot."

"Because this grave is mine." Lillith answers

"Yours but you're not dead yet." Harry's face contorted in thought.

"And I will not be for a very long time. I am hundred and ninety years old." Lillith answers, she was not joking.

Now Harry just started to laugh. "Mom, it's still a month till Halloween, you're getting ready way to early."

"I am not joking, the supernatural is very real." Lillith states, "Witches, wizards, werewolves, vampires, they are real."

Harry stopped at his mother's tone of voice "Mom, you're not yanking my chain are you?

"No." Lillith answers, "That trapdoor that you are forbidden from even touching there is a reason for that."

Harry gulped "Are you saying you and uncle Nicky are vampires but its full daylight right now."

"If I were to take off my necklace, I would be a burning cinder by now." Lillith replies "And your grandfather only visits only at night."

Harry shook his head then made his way back to the back porch and sat down. "I don't know whether this is the coolest thing ever or if I should really be freaking out now."

"Little of both if you ask me." Lillith answers, "Never once in the time, you have been with me, have I ever hurt you?"

"Do the spankings count?" He tries to joke.

"That's only when you deserved it, but I think you were punished by lectures as well." Lillith answers, smiling.

"Yeah true but if you're really that older then you're not mother's twin then are we even related?" Harry asks

"We are related, I'm really your great-great-great grandmother." Lillith answers, "if you start calling me Grammy, I'm going to make you wash all the windows at the house!"

Harry just smiled and feigns innocence "I wouldn't do that I'm not uncle Nicky."

"Speaking of, you do know he's not really your uncle? He's just an idiot, who just shown up unwelcome and refused to leave?" Lillith asks, looking over toward the woods that surrounded the house.

"I know, Mom, but he's still family, isn't he?" Harry questions

"As much as I wish otherwise." Lillith answers, still looking directly at Nikolai who was hiding in the forest.

Nikolai just smiles at her and winks. He fades back in to the woods.

Lillith shook her head, "Didn't his creator ever tell him eavesdropping isn't very nice?"

Harry looked over to where she was looking. "Mom, what are you talking about there no one there?"

"Nikolai was there, he just left." Lillith answered "come on, I want to show you something else."

Harry stood and followed out of the yard.

Lillith went back to the house, and entered the attic. She came back down with a fragile rolled parchment in her hand.

"What's that mom?"

"It's the family tree, I haven't updated since…I can't remember when." Lillith answers

Harry's eyes widened with excitement at learning more about his family.

Lillith went to the kitchen table, and unrolled the parchment, her eyes glazed over her human kin who had long since passed. "During our years here, there is only one family; I have ever had to turn away from our home."

Harry studied all the names on the tree and he found Lillith's name, and saw her middle name. He snickered at it.

"I was named after my grandmother's mother. So stop your snickering." Lillith states, she left the table and return with a pen, she entered the name of her once husband and his birth and death date.

"Mom, your middle name is Esmeralda."

"So?" Lillith questions, "Your middle name is James, which was your father's name."

"Was that your husband, mom?"

"A very long time ago." Lillith answers wistfully

"Wow that's neat."

Lillith went on to write her son's name, and his spouse, their children, and ending in Harry's name.

Harry saw this and gave a soft smile. "Wow thats a lot I never knew how far back it went."

"You are the only one, who keeps me connected to the mortal world." Lillith replies

Harry hugs her, his heart filling with joy.

"Now you know, so we don't have to sneak around to drink from our blood packets." Nikolai states, coming up behind them silently as only a vampire could.

Harry jumped at the voice "Uncle Nicky don't do that. "

Lillith turned "Speaking of, I'm going out for a little while."

"No problem we got everything covered here. Right Harry?"

Lillith walked out of the room, to change and then she left.

Later that afternoon Lillith returned feeling full and in a better mood.
