Paige McCullers.

Wayne took 2 seconds before he realized that he just had been introduced to the girl that she supposed to watch for his entire vacation. He suppressed a smile and then walked to the porch and stand beside Emily.

"Hello there." He offered his hand to the girl.

Paige smiled and took Wayne's hand. "It's nice to meet you Mr. Fields."

"Nice to meet you Paige" Wayne pulled his hand back before turned his attention to Emily. "Do you have other plans besides have to go to the bookstore?"

"Well, I think I'm going to the woods with Paige or maybe hanging out at the brew." Emily said casually.

"Um, okay. Please come home before noon. Your mom wants you for lunch."

"Sure dad." Emily smiled to her dad. "C'mon Paige!"

Paige semi-bowed to Wayne before walked down the streets with Emily. Wayne watched closely as the two girls disappeared on the corner. He turned his heels back to garage and retrieve the briefcase that he got from last night. He realized that the only have one hour until his wife's back. So, he quickly went upstairs and turned the computer on. He put on his password and logged in to the Texas-Military area. He quickly wrote an email to General Spangler about the current situation.

I met her. She is with my daughter right now. What should I do?

Wayne rubbed his chin as he tapped the send button, he leaned back to the couch while 10 Seconds later, the computer beeping signaling a new Email. Wayne quickly opened it.

Keep her on your track. Invite her for a brunch, dinner or anything. Make your daughter as the bait. Be careful though, we still don't know what she is capable of. The sooner you know about her, the sooner you know she is dangerous or not. Keep me updated

0-1 Out.

Wayne let out a shaky breath. He can't use Emily as a bait to get to know her target. But, he already figured that Paige and Emily had grown close, sooner or later maybe they will be romantically involved. When he saw the way they look at each other there is no doubt about that. He closed the briefcase and headed down to the garage to keep it out of reach from anyone. He really needs a better plan for this.

"What are you going to buy?" Paige asked once she and Emily arrived at the bookstore.

"A book." Emily winked.

Paige rolled her eyes. "Duh, of course I knew. But my question is more specific."

Emily chuckled. "I just want to look for a mystery book or maybe romantic one."

"Why chose those kind of genre?" Paige frowned.

"Why not?" Emily teased.

"Will you stop answering my questions with a hanging response? I'm just asking." Paige rolled her eyes again.

Emily chuckled again. "Hanna convinced me to buy the mystery one and the romance? I always had a pull to buy it but I never actually buy it."

"Hanna likes mystery? Damn, I should give my Detective Conan comics for her!" Paige smirked.

"I'm sure she just likes novels not comics." Emily said.

"Comics are good Em, trust me. I learnt a lot with comics than a novel."

"Well is it because you are a nerd or a geek?"

"Kind of both, I just liked how the illustrator told us the story with pictures."

Emily pursed her lips. "Ah, okay. Well, do you have a recommend for a good mystery novel?"

"Hmm, I actually fell in love with Sue Grafton's Alphabet mystery series. Do you know those?" Paige said.

"I think I heard about it but I don't know much. Does it good?" Emily asked.

"Definitely, I start reading 'A is for Alibi' when I was 13 and now I already reach 'T is for Trespass'. I'm looking for 'U is for Undertow' but that book is kinda hard to find."

Emily raised her eyebrows. "That's a lot of books that you read. Does the story related to each book?"

"There are some that related but there are some that aren't. If you want, you could read this." Paige said while grabbing one of the books from the shelf beside her. "Here."

Emily eyed the book curiously before taking it from Paige's hand "You gave me C is for Corpse? I'm not even reading the A and the B."

"Well, when I said you should read this first, you will understand when I gave you the A and the B edition." Paige winked.

Emily chuckled. "Well, okay. I'm taking this then. Okay, now we are going to look for the romantic novel!" Emily said while pulling Paige along with her.

Paige eyes widen. "What? Em, I haven't found the book that I'm looking for! "

"Hmm, okay. Why don't we split up? If you can't find your novel in 10 minutes you know where I am." Emily winked.

Paige frowned. "10 minutes? Why are you giving me limit?"

"Let's just say that so you won't get lost?" Emily teased.

Paige rolled her eyes. "Seriously, can I have at least 15 minutes?"

"Hmm…." Emily pursed her lips. "Okay, but before that can you give me a recommend for romantic novel?"

"You are asking the wrong person. I don't like romantic novels at all." Paige rolled her eyes.

Emily chuckled. "Fineee, okay then, I'll see you in 15 minutes".

Paige watched as Emily disappeared to another bookshelf, after that she returned to the mystery novels and look around to find the book that she is been looking for. After a while, she decided to ask the storekeeper. Unbeknown to her, somebody is watching between the bookshelves.

"Excuse me?"

"Yes?" An elderly man looked up from his newspaper to look up at Paige.

"Um, I'm looking for 'U is for Undertow' do you have it here?" Paige asked politely.

The man put on his glasses and then began typing on the computer. "Well, let's see….. Ah, we have 3 in the back. Let me grab it for you. Wait here."

As the man disappeared to get the book, Paige sat down on one of the chairs. Suddenly a man in full suit approached her and sat down beside her. Paige felt something strange when the man beside her started to open the book on his hand.

"Here we go…. U is for Undertow." The store keeper said suddenly making Paige jump on her seat.

"O-oh, okay. Um, thank you. How much is it?" Paige said in a hurry.

"It's 20." The storekeeper said.

Paige quickly grabbed the money from her pocket and handed it to the store keeper, she quickly walked away to find Emily. Her eyes still carefully watched the man who remained unmoving. She quickly spotted the raven haired girl in front of one of the shelf, reading a book.

"Em!" Paige called.

Emily looked up from her book and smiled to Paige. "Hey, you found your book?"

"Yeah, um, do you already found your book? I think I need some fresh air." Paige said in a rush, catching Emily to stare at her.

"Are you okay?"

"'Yeah, I'm fine. I just really excited to read this book." Lie

Emily eyed Paige suspiciously but decided to just let it drop. "Okay then, I'm going to pay this and then we can go."

"Okay, great!" Paige said.

They then walked to the storekeeper and paid Emily's book. Paige anxiously kept looking around when she noticed the man already gone.

"Paige, come on! We should go to the brew, I need some coffee." Emily exclaimed.

"Sure." Paige walked quickly, following Emily from behind.

Paige took a quick glance behind and noticed a pair of eyes watching her from behind the bookshelves. Those stares quickly sent shivers throughout her body.

"Paige? Are you alright?" Emily asked once she noticed that Paige slightly shaking.

"Uh? Huh? Yeah, I'm fine."

"You're shaking you know? What is it?" Emily asked.

"Nothing, I think I zoned out a little and think about something that I shouldn't worry about." Paige said, making a strange excuse that made Emily frown.

"What were you thinking?" Emily asked, genuinely curious.

Paige rubbed her head nervously. "Err, you shouldn't have to worry about it. It's just nothing to be worried about but I think I'm just worrying about it but uh…. Okay, I should shut up."

Emily chuckled while seeing Paige rambling something nonsense. She smiled sweetly. "Okay, if you don't want to talk about it then I'll just drop it."

"Thanks." Paige smiled to Emily while they continued to walk towards the brew.

Once they disappeared, the man with the suit stepped outside from the bookstore and pulled out his phone while dialing someone's number.

"Hello? You were right, she doesn't know that she is being watched by the enemy but I think she knows that I'm the one who watching her."

The man took a seat near a tree while keeping his glance at the coffee shop.

"Yeah, I understand what do you want, but I can't get a closer look. How do I suppose to do that while someone that we didn't know also watching her? What if they are aware of my presence and sending out patrols?"

He sipped on his beverage while listening to the other person on the line.

"Alright, I don't want to argue anymore. I'll try my best." He hung up the call and walked to his car that parked on the roadside while waiting for Emily and Paige to show up.
