Carter's POV
"Wh-, Wha-, what happened?" I asked trying to sit up
"You and Seth took a pretty hard fall." Carlisle says pushing me back down gently. He begins to check for other injuries. My hands flow up as he pressed on my right rib cage and shoulder.
"Oh dear, you've broken a few ribs and dislocated your shoulder." He says out loud.
"What?!" I cried out.
"You and Seth took a hard fall on our way home. We were ambushed." Leah says coming to my side.
"How the hell did you not see the ambush?" I yelled pissed.
"Carter, I need to hold your breath." Carlisle instructs me. I held my breath as I felt the bones in my upper right side of my body shift. I let out a deadly scream which cause Carlisle to flinch a little as he begins to cut my clothes off.
"Cater, I'm sorry honey. I'm going to inject enough morphine in your system to numb the pain." He says. I just nodded as the tears fell. Leah came and stood by my hair petting my hair.
"You're doing good." She smiles as Carlisle wrapped and tended to my wounds from the fall.
"Glad I can't feel it anymore." I whispered not wanting to watch Carlisle work anymore. I was zoning in and out before finally I fell asleep.
When I woke up I was surrounded by sadden faces. I frowned and went to sit up.
"Take it easy." Leah says helping me sit up. Everyone gathered around.
"Carter I'm sorry, I didn't see them." Seth says stepping forward.
"Seth, I'm ok." I replied brushing my hair out my face. "Did we win?" I asked
"Yeah. We got 'em." Emmett says ruffling my hair.
"How you feeling?" Carlisle asked me as he entered.
"Better." Replied adjusting my arm sling and swinging my legs to get up. Leah helps me stand and with caution she and Carlisle followed me as I went to look for a mirror. I stop and take a deep breath before looking at the mirror.
I was bruised but not as bad when I was living with Joshua. My hair was longer. I had my tan back. I gained weight finally. I looked better, felt better.
"You okay?" Sam asked worriedly. I glanced at my brother and nodded.
"When does the cast on my foot come off?" I asked Carlisle.
"I can transfer you to a brace but you'll need to stay off it and be a little more cautious." I nodded.
"Alright have a seat back in the bed." I followed him and with help sat back on the bed. I swung my leg up and waited. We all sat quietly watching as he brought the tools over and begin to work on my ankle.
He cut the cast off and then looked over my ankle.
"Stitches are going to stay a bit longer. I want the skin to seal itself a little more." He says as he worked. I nodded.
"No as for the brace, you really have to take it easy. It's not as sturdy as a cast; it will allow your skin to breathe more and keep your bones a lined." I gave my consent. "If you don't mind I want to ask everyone to leave. Go out of ear distance." Carlisle says as he places the brace on. I nodded a bit confused.
Every left without a word.
"I won't bit my dear. I wanted to ask a few questions."
"Okay." I replied raising and eyebrow…
