Chapter 10

SUPER MEPHILES

Everyone stared in horror at the now rejuvenated Mephiles who stared in subtle amusement at the still rage empowered Sonic
"Thanks hedgehog" the demon spoke
"I kinda like the new look but I didn't expect your personality to rub off on me as much as it did" Sonic glared at Mephiles who was revelling in what he took for a sick joke
"Dammit…you…" Sonic growled before Mephiles turned to look at the others
"I'm tired of fighting hedgehogs" Mephiles's face contorted a little before revealing a newly formed mouth that grinned sadistically
"What's say I hunt me a fox next?" Sonic's aura of rage reignited as he charged like lighting towards the demon
"LAY A FINGER ON HIM AND YOUR DEAD!" Mephiles swerved out of the way of the enraged hero who turned back for another charge before Mephiles simply swerved, held out his arm and…CRACK!
Sonic hit the demon's arm headfirst and choked on blood as he hit the ground with his neck cracking as he fell.

Silver couldn't take it anymore, something deep inside him snapped as he held out his arm and forced Mephiles into a psychokinetic lock.

Mephiles was suspended above the ground completely locked in his stance, how was he doing this? Silver had demonstrated to be the weakest of the group and yet he was NOW able to restrain him without even going super
"You DO realise that sending me out of your reality is useless now" Mephiles chuckled
"With this power, I don't rely on a bunch of stones to induce chaos control" Silver's mental grip on the demon tightened
"I'm not sending you to whitespace!" he grunted as he built up more and more energy
"I'M SENDING YOU TO HELL!" Silver unleashed his full power on Mephiles who began crack violently before shattering into pieces.

"It's…over…" Silver panted out before he loosened his focus and let the shards fall to the ground, Sonic gasped on for air where Mephiles had left him, struggling to breath as Silver and Tails rushed over to help him up
"Sonic! Are you okay? Can you hear me?" Tails said to the dark hedgehog before Sonic's dark aura faded and his pupils became visible once more "I've had worse…" grunted the still partially dark Sonic as he painstakingly cracked his neck back into place.

Shadow's attention however was not on Sonic but on the pile of Mephiles's remains that Silver had left "It's not over yet" Shadow murmured "Drop the act Mephiles, I'm not buying it"
The others stared in horror as the dark crystalline shards began to liquefy into a dark mass which then proceeded to mould into the demonic hedgehog that Silver had shattered just moments before
"I don't…believe it" Sonic shuddered out as he fully reverted back to his base form and fell to his knees, demoralised.

"Well" said the newly revived Mephiles
"I guess YOU'RE not as stupid as I thought after all Shadow" Silver gritted his teeth in a supressed rage
"Buuuut it's safe to assume that your "FRIENDS" are still complete morons" before Shadow could react, Mephiles grabbed him by the throat and lobbed him into Silver who was narrowly able to avoid the impact by slowing Shadow's fall using his telekinesis
"Sonic?" Tails murmured to his best friend
"How are we going to beat him"
"I…I don't know" Sonic dragged out.

Mephiles stared at the group with a murderous grin
"I don't know how you were able to destroy my body" Said the demon, now addressing Silver
"But It won't matter in a minute" Silver winced as he realised what Mephiles had in mind
"Mine…" the demon murmured before beginning to sinisterly walk towards the group
"Your powers will be a nice little addition!" he announced
"Even if I DO wind up getting that stupid haircu-"
"I'm back!" shouted Hyper Knuckles as he launched his fist across Mephiles's face, sending him flying.
"KNUCKLES!" Sonic and Tails shouted at once
"All the commotion gave me JUST enough time to charge the Master emerald" the Guardian boasted before his attention was turned to Mephiles who was now hovering in the sky
"That was cheap!" the demon growled before holding arm towards the Master emerald
"But I'M cheaper…"
Everyone stared in horror in realisation of what Mephiles was about to do, Sonic glared at the demon, he had to do SOMETHING
"Oh my god" Tails murmured
"He's going to blow it up!"
"No he's not!" Knuckles shouted back, too horror struck to move
"I'ma blow it up!" Mephiles chuckled to which Knuckles yet again replied
"OH NO YOUR NOT!" Sonic slipped away unnoticed with a plan in mind
"I'M BLOWING IT UP!" Mephiles shouted madly as his arm began to charge up, Knuckles then almost equally as madly screamed
"NO-YOU-ARE-NO…" Mephiles fired the spear out of his arm before Knuckles could finish speaking, reducing the emerald shrine to rubble, the Echidna's jaw dropped as he saw the purpose of his WHOLE life reduced to ash, Mephiles grinned evilly
"I blew it up…"

"Don't jump to conclusions!" Shouted the voice of an unseen voice before a glowing green being kicked Mephiles nearly half a mile
"What?" the demon grunted as he turned to face his unknown attacker who revealed himself to be a hedgehog that glowed emerald green "SONIC?" shouted Knuckles, knowing very well what the hedgehog had done
"HOW DID YOU EVEN…" Knuckles was cut off by the godlike being
"Fastest thing alive, remember?" he chuckled, Knuckles's mood was unaltered
"YOU HAVE TO GET IT OUT OF YOUR BODY NOW! YOUR BODY CAN'T TAKE THAT AMOUNT OF ENERGY!"

A drop of blood dripped from Sonic's nose, he chuckled with a struggled grin on his face
"I know…"

JUST A QUICK UPDATE FOR READERS, I HAVE NOT ABANDONED THIS STORY! I AM WORKING ON CHAPTER 11 BUT IT MIGHT TAKE A LONG TIME SINCE I HAVE TO KEEP MY OTHER STORIES UPDATED AND DEAL WITH YEAR 11 AT THE SAME TIME, IF YOU LIKE SOL PARADOX THEN CHECK OUT FRACTURED FUTURE AND SONIC REBIRTH!
