Ok Enjoy..

CH 10~.

Anne had talked to Elrond for a bit when she realized that it was probably the ring. The ring probably translated what she said. It was a long shot, but you never know.

After that was settled in her mind, Elrond had asked her to dance. She admitted she didn't know how.

"Well then, follow me," he said quietly, gripping her fingers and leading her lightly, not forcefully, to where people were already dancing. From there, the Elf-Lord snaked one arm onto her waist, the other gripping her free hand. She placed her hand on his shoulder and followed his steps. It was hasty, but it worked.

Anne's mind was in a different universe while Elrond danced with her. Some elves moved to other places so they had a wide circle to dance in. Anne didn't notice though, she stayed oblivious to the fact that she and Elrond were dancing when no one was singing and people were pointing at her and whispering to the elves next to them. Instead, she thought about all the fun she would have on Middle-earth in the coming of days. Tomorrow she would go to the stables maybe and pick out a horse.

Her plans were cut short with thoughts of the real world. Not that this wasn't real, but it wasn't her hometown or anything. After the Hall of Fire, she would go back to her universe with Summer, and wait until night approached and then she could spend all the time she wanted during the night on Earth there. She did a short calculation. Nine hours would be about twenty-two days on Middle-earth. She could live with that just fine. Though she might return to say hello to her parents every so often.

Her life was all planned out for the next few days, though it was more like a month in this new universe.

Then, and only then, did she realize she was still dancing next to Elrond, and how she had now moved closer to rest her head against his shoulder self-consciously. He didn't seem to be minding though, so she reckoned it was okay and continued leaning against him while most of Rivendell watched. Someone else had gotten up on stage and started singing and it wasn't a slow song, some elves were now dancing to a folk tune. Elrond pulled away from Anne and looked at her quietly, as if he were unsure what to say. She pressed her lips into a straight line, staring at him while people continued dancing.

She stared in his light blue eyes, waiting for either him to kiss her or say something. Not like he would kiss her, considering they've know each other for maybe only a few days.

"How is your leg?" he asked at last.

"It feels good," she said honestly, stretching out her leg. Elrond grinned in a mischievous way never before seen on screen or paper.

"Good," he whispered in his seductive voice that made Anne want to laugh. But if she did giggle, he didn't hear it, neither did she for that matter. Because just as he leaned in to maybe kiss her, there was an announcement from the stage.

Anne cranked her head away from Elrond, who cleared his throat and turned to face the stage, where a contempt Haldir was standing, waiting for everyone's attention after a shout that he had an announcement.

He started off in a loud voice, "I need to speak with-" he then went on to name a bunch of elves Anne didn't know. The last name he said was Elrond. Elrond left her on the dance floor, apologizing and saying he'll be back soon. Anne let him go and half-glared at Haldir, who caught her eye. His face was expressionless when he looked at her.

After a bit, the music started playing again, slower music to actually slow dance too. Anne was left by the wall, drinking some wine.

Separated and alone, Anne drifted away from the people around her to the exit. Her father might be home in her world and she needed to get there. Of course, she made sure to grab Summer, who trailed behind her, saying goodbyes and see you tomorrows and have a nice nights to almost everyone she saw.

When they finally made it back to their room, which took about two hours after they got lost, Anne slid off the ring while clutching Summer's hand. They appeared in Anne's room, in their dresses. Anne threw Summer some of her own clothes as well as putting on some too.

"Could've waited a bit longer," Summer ran to jump onto Anne's bed.

"Oh come on, it's almost time for dinner, and my stomach's growling," Anne watched Summer not make it up with the jump to her bed. So Summer then resorted to using the ladder like any reasonable person would do.

"Tons of food at The Hall of Fire, Anne. But I see, at night we get a couple of weeks or so until we have to come back to reality." Summer lay on Anne's bed, lifting her arms and legs above her to push against the ceiling.

"Yup." Anne sat on the couch quietly.

"It's like the last few weeks before summer ends."

"Except summer ending is a bitch," Anne retorted. "And we get to go back."

Summer thought for a moment before agreeing, "yeah, going back to school is probably the worst, I agree."

"Anyway," Anne said, stretching her legs quietly, "Meet any guys tonight?"

"Hmmm, yes. A few, actually. They bowed to me, it was SO cool," Summer beamed, rolling around on Anne's bed. Anne rolled her eyes.

"I swear Elrond was going to kiss me tonight," Anne said.

Summer was suddenly still. "OOOh, Old Elf Elrond, laying down the moooovessss, if ya know what I'm saying."

Anne giggled a bit. "Yes I suppose I understand. And then Haldir had to ruin it by getting up on stage to call a meeting to some elves."

"It's weird," Summer said, resuming her moving around on the top bunk.

Anne tried to ignore the sound of her covers being messed up. "What is?"

"You used to love Haldir, now you hate him."

"He's more of a douche than I expected, of course I don't like him anymore."

"Weird," Summer said. "What's the deal with Nate now-a-days?"

"There is no deal-" Anne was about to continue when a soft knock was heard on the door.

"Anne, Summer, dinner is served," came the voice of Anne's mother.

"Okay, be right down," Anne called through the closed door.

She left the room a second later with Summer. They walked through the house to the kitchen to see that Anne's father wasn't there. Anne assumed he was at work, like he usually was. Jenney was eating her food, which was reheated pizza and fries from Coco's Pizzeria. Anne let Summer sit where she would normally sit, and instead sat where her father normally sat. She tried to scarf down the food, though it was hard because of the conversation that her mother was failing to start.

"How was school?" she asked.

"Good, like usual. By the way, mom, Summer's staying the night," Anne told her mom. Jenney crossed her arms and pouted.

"Every time Summer stays over, you always keep me up all night!" Jenney complained.

"Promise we won't," Anne said.

"And if they do, they will get in trouble," her mother backed her up with ease. Summer grinned, as did Anne.

They continued eating in silence until they were done. Summer and Anne were too excited to get back to Middle-Earth to say anything productive. Anne wanted to speak to Elrond, Summer wanted to speak to her 'friend.'

Pizza sauce was caked around Anne's lips by the time she finished, and she had to wipe it off with her napkin before her, when there was a knock at the door. Jenney stood up quickly, pushing her chair behind her and she rushed to the front door and opened it.

"Ugh, Anne! Nate is here!" Jenney yelled from the front door. Anne and Summer groaned in unison. Anne finished wiping her mouth and stood up.

Sure enough, Nate was at the door, dressed quite fancy at that. He looked at Anne quietly.

"Nate, go home, I'm busy," Anne said.

Nate peered inside through the door. "I don't see anything to be busy with."

"Yeah, because you aren't actually in my house, now go home."

"Don't you want to know what I want?"

"No."

"You sure?" Nate asked.

"Yes, I am sure."

"Positive?"

"Nate, go home," Anne demanded, as a Summer appeared behind her back.

"Oh I see, you're hanging out with the dork," Nate teased.

Anne took a step towards him. "She is not a dork. Now get the fuck out of my fucking neighborhood before I fucking shove a stick up your fucking ass you fuck."

"That's a lot of fucks in one sentence," Nate replied, still not leaving. "And you don't have a stick."

"You want to test me on that?" Anne inquired.

Nate shook his head. "No, no. I am perfectly fine stickless… See you at school tomorrow…hun.." And with that, Nate turned and walked through Anne's lawn to his truck.

Anne smiled to Summer as they headed upstairs together. They opened the door to her room, and instantly Summer ruined Anne's mood.

"What if your mom comes a-knockin' while we're in Middle-Earth?" she questioned. Anne thought about it and remembered something.

"Well last time someone knocked on my door while I was in this world, I heard it through my ring. I am hoping that it is the same case and hopefully my mom won't burst into the room." Anne played with the ring on her necklace.

"Yeah, cause then she'll probably think we got kidnapped and she'll call the police," Summer joked.

"Well, if that happens, we'll tell her someone tried to kidnap us and then just describe the kidnapper as Count Olaf. Problem adieu."

"You are a smart cookie," Summer replied, taking hold of Anne's hand. "Now put on that ring."

Anne unhooked the ring from the chain in a few seconds and slid it on her hand. In a second, they were in her room in Middle-Earth. No one was knocking. In fact, there was barely any noise except for the breathing of Anne and Summer. There was no Lilith in the room. They quickly changed into night gowns. By now it was well into the night. Anne yawned and glanced at her leg. She was supposed to be resting it, but it felt like a brand new leg, to be honest.

Summer, meanwhile was grabbing a few pillows from Anne's bed and making a comfy place on the chair in front of Anne's bed. Anne smiled at her friend, glad to be where she was and went and did a flying jump to land on her bed. She curled under the covers and tried to fall asleep. Sleep didn't come easy. It came in waves. She slept for a few hours and then woke up from a nightmare. It happened over and over again until Anne just sat up in bed, seeing Summer sleeping soundly on Anne's chair. She smiled at her friend, trying to recall what her nightmares were about, but all she thought of was the feeling of fear. No bad dreams, just the dreaded feeling of fear. Anne felt alone in her bed. She curled underneath the covers and pulled them to her chin, looking at the stars in the sky out her big windows. She hugged one of her pillows tightly, pretending it was another human being so she didn't feel so alone.

For the rest of the night, Anne did not have any more nightmares. She dreamt of a beach with cooling waves washing the sand off her feet. She was sitting next to someone, but their whole body was sort of blurred so all she could see was the different colors they were wearing. Blonde, long hair, with a man-shaped body. Anne assumed she was next to a guy. Yet- during the dream she couldn't speak or say anything to the man next to her. She couldn't move, only feel the sand underneath her feet, and the water between her toes.

That's how it ended, she woke up feeling a wave between her toes.

Speaking of waking up…

Anne sat up suddenly, seeing Summer boasting about the room, grabbing different books and rummaging through them.

"Everything that happened in the years we missed," Summer said throwing one at Anne as soon as she realized Anne was awake. Anne tried to catch the book but failed. It landed on her knee with a thud.

"We read enough in school, Summer," Anne complained, not wanting to know what happened. She was supposed to be clueless. Anne wanted to play a convincing part. So she closed the book and stared at Summer, who plopped herself down on her bed from the previous night to open a book.

Anne looked outside at the sun streaming in the room and laid her head back down on the pillow and groaned. "What are we going to do today?" she asked randomly. She heard Summer close her book.

"Welp, we could go out to the forest. Could practice fighting or explore this place. Unless you wanna ditch here. I heard Lothlorien is nice this time of year."

Anne stiffened at the mention of Lorien. It's gone. "Fighting would be nice, then maybe go get some horses," she said with a smile even she didn't believe.

"Okay then get your ass outta that seat and get into some clothes," Summer said, hurrying to the closet to find some appropriate clothes.

Anne slowly lifted herself out of bed. Now all they had to do is find someone willing to train them.

Author's Note:

Chapter 10 complete.

Gosh I feel so bad for waiting so long, and I didn't even use my same writing style as I usually do so it doesn't sound the same..

I need some ideas for coming chapters. I have a general plot, but it's the little activities that take some time I'm not so sure about.

Replies:

Kernigh: Yeaaaah it's about a sorta-Mary-Sue. Besides, if I got a chance to go to Middle-Earth, I wouldn't want to go back honestly. (psst the assassin might not be limited to just Middle-Earth hinthint) And yes, I know there are some historical problems which is supposed to happen to make the story more interesting so yeaaaaah. Thanks for reviewing.

LegolasGreenleafLove: hiya. Thanks, I didn't know what else to put so I was just like: singing seems legit. I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
