Chapter 10

SAKURA

I was standing in his room watching the scene play out. Sasuke was arguing with his older brother Itachi. Itachi had come in to talk to Sasuke about the wedding. A request from his parents, with him being the best man of his brother's wedding. The talk started great but then we came to this.

"Sasuke, you need to grow up and stop being a kid." Itachi was saying.

"How am I being a kid?" he asked angrily.

"Throwing tantrums when I am the one treating you, I mean I certainly don't have to take you out for your wedding."

"I'm telling you not to!" he yelled. I covered my ears. He can get loud when he wanted to. Just then there was a knock at the door. Thank Kami-sama.

"I'll get it!" I said as I went to the door. It was Namida and Daisuke.

"Oh, Sakura! What are you doing here?" she asked as she tilted her head.

"Long story." I rolled my eyes as I invited her in.

"Itachi will you quit this nonsense with your brother and come tuck Daisuke in?" she said as she placed Daisuke down and let him walk to his dad. Itachi picked him up.

"Okay, but this discussion isn't over Sasuke."

"Yes it is." He said as they walked out, leaving Sasuke and I alone. He looked at me and smirked.

"I almost forgot you were my servant now." He said.

"I have you know I will not involve myself in any negative activities Sir Sasuke." I said the sir with so much venom.

"Oh trust I would not pursue any negative activities with you… I already have Hinata for that." I scrunched up my face with disgust and rolled my eyes at him.

"But there is something you can do right now." He said with a sly smirk. What has Kami-sama store for my future?

NARUTO

I was lying in my bed, thinking about the conversation we had during dinner. She's so kind. I can't see why would they have offered her to Sasuke? But it was obvious it was just another marriage between two very noble clans. Why couldn't they pick what their life was to be more importantly why couldn't they pick who they were to marry? That's someone they plan to spend their whole life with. Suigetsu did and he's the heir of the Mist. Her words keep going through my mind nonstop.

Flashback

We were eating quietly and it kind of was awkward so I decided to start a conversation.

"So Lady Hinata, how do you like it here so far?" I asked. She sighed.

"I-it's n-n-not what I h-h-had pla-planned. T-to be frank, I wi-wished I had a c-c-choice in this." She said.

"What do you mean?" I asked. She looked up from her bowl then looked away with a concentrated face. I was about to say something but then she turned back to me.

"It's not like I made big plans for my future really, but I wish that I had a choice whether to choose my father's picks than having to follow them instantly." I nodded my head then smiled.

"You didn't stuttered not once in that sentence." I said as my smile grew wider. She blushed and looked away.

"W-w-well you're a l-l-lot easier to talk to." She said as she grew redder. I started to laugh. I heard her giggle and I stopped laughing. She sounded like an angel when she laughed.

"How do you feel about Sasuke-teme?" I heard myself say. She stop mid giggle and looked at me.

"Honestly… I don't know. He's…" she looked as if she was looking for the right word.

"A jerk, ass, conceited, rude, teme?" I said. She shook her head.

"Confused. Sasuke is just like me in a way." Now this is where I was confused. Did she just compare Sasuke to herself?

"That's not true Mi'Lady. You are kind and well…" I trailed off.

"You may not see it but it's all in the way he acts. With me, you can tell by my lack of confidence and stuttering." She placed her hands in her lap and looked down with a grieving face. I wanted to get up and hug her but I felt as if it wasn't my place to. "With him, it's his emotion and the way he handles things. It's clear to me that the pressure of being the next heir has affected him greatly, just as it has me. I believe he has a nice side, you just have to dig deep to get to it." I stared in shock. She had just said that
Sasuke had a good side to him, didn't she?

"Miss Hinata, you are truly the goddess of kindness." I said as I smiled wide.

End of Flashback

I turned onto my side thinking of her words carefully. There were times where Sasuke would be nice and to be honest, I have no memories of when I was young. That's the whole reason I'm here really. It was an easy access into a home and they were willing to give me the job. When she said that, she made me think about the past. What was it like when I was a kid? Did I have parents? Where was I from? Did I have a home in the beginning? I felt my head start to hurt, a sure sign saying I was over thinking this too much, but I couldn't help but think what if everything were different? I soon felt myself fall to sleep thinking of all the possibilities going through my head. Maybe I can Lady Mikoto about myself. I thought as I drifted off to sleep.
