I should really throw myself in a fire...
...
Ah well! Sorry about the huge delay guys! Stuff is getting hectic up here and we're having another major exam in about 4 -ish weeks time, so my time writing is pretty slim.
Anywho, hope you enjoy!
Also, be prepared to see a lot of cheese! I think I accidentally melted a whole block of cheese in this chapter!
Ah screw it. Might as well accompany your boss. There really isn't much harm to it right?
"Sure I guess. And...well...I got nothin for suggestions" Youeplied, causing Julie to hum in thought. "How bout we walk around for a bit and figure it out" You asked. She stayed silent for a moment, pondering on whether this was a good idea or not.
After a moment or two, she finally replied to you. "Sure then". And with that the two of you left to find whatever place was best suited for dining at the moment. Along the way, the two of you chatted. It wasn't any major things, most of the things just talking about each other's hobbies, interests and stuff of the like. It was enjoyable to say the least and at least there wasn't any tension in the air between the both of you. Eventually, the two of you decided to stop at a local food joint that served burgers.
Couldn't remember the name of the place for the life of you. But it wasn't all that important. Except for 'Slammin' Jammin' Dunking Donuts' Though, you were sure the guys who made the restaurant stole the idea from somewhere else.
From there, Julie went and ordered what she wanted before returning to the table, which surprised you a little bit due to how much she ordered. Literally, four burgers were on her tray, which was mighty impressive, for a lady to be able to maintain a rather good physique while being able to eat as much as she likes. The two of you continued chat on small things. Though at one point, you had to ask how she managed to become the head manager of the pizzeria.
It turns out that apparently, she inherited the place from her dad, who was the one who started the entire pizzeria. Not only that, but apparently, there were multiple outlets around the globe, which was odd since you never heard of any news regarding that. Apparently, a manager at one of the first global outlets hired a Japanese robotics expert to expertly redesign the old models so that it would attract more customers from across the world. The plan worked like a charm and apparently, due to that, business boomed for the original pizzeria.
"Now that is amazing!" You exclaimed, highly impressed at what she said.
"Yep. With the redesign of the animatronics, they decided for a more sleek figure. You know, the kind those toy figurines have? In any case, they took the idea of making more like that and in the end, the animatronics were now made of a type of hard plastic, with the inside still being their usual endoskeleton, instead of having a suit. Pretty innovative if ya ask me" She said, taking a bite out of her last burger.
Now that you think of it, it was pretty cool sounding of the animatronics looking like toy figures. It'll be hard to image what they might look like, though. Heh, it will be hilarious if they had those blush marks just like those dolls little girls have. Oh man! That'll be insane! But holy shit, it would be freaking nuts if they were to be the exact same situation as the girls.
Anthropomorphic animals. With somewhat permanent blush marks. Jesus that would be so damn funny.
"Oh yeah! And I heard that one outlet it actually turning it into more of an attraction base! The guys had an idea of maybe turning it into kind of like a entertainment area, which would chase as the days goes by. They even explained how they had an idea of making the place look like a horror attraction during Halloween, with the main attractions looking like decayed robots" She explained.
Now that was a cool idea! You had to admit, you never knew that a small restaurant such as the Fazbears, as per what Julie had told you, would make such an impact around the globe.
Your mind wandered, a Halloween based horror attraction? Sounds promising. Maybe the robots would pop out and jumps are the ones who enter? That would be amazing.
"Anywho, mind telling me about this friend of you?" You heard Julie ask, snapping you out of your half-dazed state.
"O-Oh! Umm..." You stuttered for a moment. "Well, for one thing...she's British and that she adores these kinds of dresses" You started, still kind of awkward about the situation of explaining Freya to her sort of 'surrogate mother'. "She has an absolutely stunning voice and has a knack of being playful"
"I see..." Julie nodded her head slowly. "Well you have any other plans after this?" She asked.
Hmmm...Actually, that would be a good idea. If she were to stick around to help you buy the rest of the things you need, maybe then you should ask her to come along and stay later at night. It would beat the hell out of lying to her 24/7.
"Well, I actually still have to buy some other things" You started, "If you'd like, you can come along"
"Sorry but I cant. I still have to go back to the restaurant" she explained, which was reasonable due to being the manager. She took the last bite from her burger and stood up from her seat, with you doing the same. She extended a hand as a farewell. "Thanks for accomapanying by the way. I should head off now"
However, just as she was about to leave, you caught her attention by asking her to wait for a moment. She stopped and turned around to face you, her face showing signs of confusion. "Actually...Do you mind coming to the pizzeria around the close to midnight tonight?" You asked, causing her eyes to widen.
"A-Are you asking me on a date?" She asked, slightly flustered frok you question.
You stammered out loud from the sudden question before managing to compose yourself once again. "No no! I assure you, this has to do with the weird happenings late at night" You explained, smiling sheepishly.
Julie was fidgeting around on the spot and hummed to herself, thinking of whether this was a good idea. After a while, when she was properly composed, she nodded her head at you. "Alright then. But this better be business related" she warned you.
You chuckled. "I assure you boss, it'll be more clearer later tonight. And before I forget...I'm really sorry for earlier this afternoon. I...sort of lied towards you. But it's all for a reason" Yoh explained in a slightly cryptic way, causing her to look at you in confusion.
After shrugging her shoulders and saying that it was fine, she made her way out of the burger joint and back to the pizzeria, leaving you to your thoughts once again. Hopefully, thing's would work out later tonight. You wouldn't want to lose your job so quickly.
Making your way out, you decided to find a good place to buy Bonnie's gift as well as Foxy's.
...
And speaking of Foxy, you managed to spy an antique shop over in the distance. If lady luck was on your side, finding a good, old-fashioned pirate hook would be easy. Though, you weren't too sure where you may get an actual pirate outfit.
Actually...now that you think of it...You should probably buy an outfit that well suited the girls personality.
Meh...That could work.
As you drew closer to the shop, you were amazed by the look of it. It was definitely an antique looking design, with a wooden board that displayed the name of the shop. You peered through the window and found yourself fixated at the various displays of items. Some looked to be handicrafted, others made of wood or plastic. There were dolls, keychains and numerous more waiting inside.
Cant help but feeling the glee build up inside, you entered the shop, finding yourself surrounded by outstanding works of art. It was as if you had entered a whole new world right there. There were those old clothing stands used in the 1800's, figurines of old fashioned cars...
It was just outstanding!
"Well hello there!" A old voice boomed with glee, which made you flinch for a moment. You turned around and found yourself looking face to face with a man that looked as if he were in the mafia. He was slightly plump, with a scruff facial look, wearing a black and white striped suit with a red necktie and a trilby hat with a white feather. He was also carrying around a wooden cane, probably for support. Although due to that, his face wore a welcoming look.
"O-Oh! Hello! My names Michael Schmidt" You raised a hand to greet him, to which he gladly took and shook it.
"Hello hello! The names Benjamin Barkley. What business are you looking for?" He asked.
"Erm...I'm looking for an old-fashioned pirate hook and matching gear. A friend of mine needs it for a presentation" You explained, slightly lying to him.
"Oh? Well, I cannot believe it then! Come Mike!" Benjamin boomed again, laughing loudly as he slowly walked on back. Deciding to heed his words, you followed closely behind.
There were many more objects at the back of the store, which surprised you a lot. There were big objects such as statues, large protraits, chairs, tables and the such. As well as having many smaller items such as snowglobes and more figurines of different origin. The two of you meade small talk along the way as the two of you went deeper in the back. Eventually, the both of you reached a glass casing with a stand inside, the contents inside being shown.
It was absolutely stunning.
It was a mix of an old pirate gear with a Victorian naval theme. There was the jacket, maroon in color with golden buttons and lapels, which was unbuttoned, showing the white vest underneath that had golden straps that held it together. The jacket also had different badges pinned onto it, though you were not sure if they were real. Not only that, but you could also faintly see a red cloak that was dangling at the back. It also came along with black pants that had metal chains on the right pant pocket. There was also the signature black pirate cap with white skull and bones and the hook. The pirate cap itself had a couple of feather attached to it at the back.
"A beauty now, isn't it?" You heard Benjamin chuckle from behind.
"Stunning..." You replied. You just had to get it! It's simply perfect for her! Turning your head back towards him, you quickly asked, "How much?".
Benjamin scratched the scruff on his chin. "Well...That old beauty has been trapped here for a long time now...I could sell it for you for...$206 I suppose...". Shit. That's kind of expensive...
"...Unless" He then turned around and looked over in the distance before turning back to you. "...Do you happen to have any interests in guitars?" He asked in a curios tone. Almost at once, your attention was diverted towards where he was.
"What kind?" You asked almost immediately. He then left your line of sight, leaving you to think of the sudden train of events. It was as if everything was going the way you wanted it! Luck like this is godlike to most people!
"...-re it is! Sorry if kind of looks a little dusty" You heard him call out. What you saw next was breathtaking. The guitar model was a real 1961 Gibson EB-0 Bass guitar, with a glistening metallic body that was painted in a deep shade of marron, strokes of a lighter shade of red could be found at the sides sith a black fretboard and white pegs. There was a very faint design on it that resembled a treble clef, which was gold in color. Next to it, was something written in black, but it was too far for you to see.
"This little lady has been acheing for a new owner. Ever since the previous owner donated it to us nearly 20 years ago, she was being held inside her case" Benjamin explained. "A once famous guitarist used this very guitar long ago. Cant quite recall anymore. Old age, ya know?" He chuckled.
Literally nothing this good has happened to you before in your life. It was just either a small spur of luck or a string of destructive bad ones. But this...Good lord!
"So you interested? I'll give ya a huge discount if you take these two pretty ladies out of this dusty store" He chuckled yet again.
You stood up straight. "No problem with me.
Shaking your head, you got ready to head inside the building with all of your presents along with you. 'Twas a cheerful season, as what many of your friend say, albeit a very cold one. Once inside, you, surprisingly, found your boss sitting on your chair with a bored look on her face. Apparently she heard you coming, since her head tilted to look at you.
"Look what the cat finally dragged in" Julie comments with a smirk.
"Yea...Says the lady who actually came here earlier than me"
Julie merely replies with a roll of her eyes, to which you chuckle. Walking into the room, you placed down all the gifts you had bought earlier on, stretching a little and heaving a small yawn. Everything seems to be in order. You your watch to be safe and nodded to yourself at the time. 11:57 PM. It was time to show Julie something interesting.
"Hey boss. Mind following me for a while?" You asked, to which she shrugs her shoulder.
"Anything that might be worth noticing would be better than staying here" she replied. Standing up and placing down the tablet she was holding down onto the chair, she walked towards you, following you out of the room and into the main hall.
You looked back at your watch and found that it was time. Oddly enough, Jie asked the right question at the right time. "Soo...what is it that you needed me here for?"
Wait for it...
...
Waaiit for it...
...
There we go! The sudden bright flash of light from behind the curtains managed to catch her attention, albeit in a funny manner. She jumped in the air and managed to strike a hilarious pose, with her face looking like she saw a ghost. "What the hell was that?!" She exclaimed, merely causing you to smile.
"Huh? Who do you think that was Freya?" A soft and meek voice called out from beyond the closed curtains, causing you to smirk as you knew who that was.
"I do not know of anyone sounding like that. We best be careful" That unmistakably ladylike voice replied.
Meanwhile, your boss was still cowering behind you, which you had to admit, was a funny and cute sight. Normally she would look like someone who has authority as well as having a easygoing side. But at the moment, she looked almost like a certain rabbit when she first met you.
"It's fine girls! I just happen to bring a friend along!" You called out, grinning. Despite your eyes being glued onto the stage, you could feel Julie giving you a 'Wtf brah' kind of look behind you.
Suddenly, the curtains flung open for a moment, revealing a yellow chicken in a bib running towards you. "Moikey! Ya came back!" Chica exclaimed, a huge grin plastered onto her face.
The curtains opened yet again, this time a purple bunny and a brown bear appeared. "Well now, glad to see you come back Michaeal. And I thought you would leave after your first night" Freya chuckled, earning a chuckle from you as well.
"Nah! I have a job to do. Wouldn't be professional if I quit after the first night, hmm?" You asked, which made Freya chuckle again.
"Indeed"
You turned your head and smiled at the cute, meek bunny that was Bonnie, whom was playing with her fingers in a cute fashion. "Evening Bon"
Her face flared up for a moment and she stuttered, you could have sworn you saw her entire color change from purple to crimson, but that was probably you. "Uhhh...Uumm...Mo-Morning...I-I-I mean...! E-Eve-ning M-M-Mike..." She stuttered in an adorable manner, which caused you to inwardly 'daww' and have a momentary heart attack.
Just as you were about to say anything else, a loud "Yarr Harr!" Erupted from behind of you, causing you to turn around out of instinct, only to find yourself being thrown across the room from a rather heavy maroon-ish red cannon ball.
"F-Fine...Evening, C-Captain" You managed to squeak out due to how much weight was being implemented onto your chest.
"Aye lad! Though, rather disappointed that ye did not duck fer cover" Foxy explained.
"I'll k-keep that in mind. Can you kindly get off? My chest hurts"
And that she did, causing you to finally be able to breathe normally, relishing that sweet air. Which in most cases, air doesn't really have any taste, but besides the point! However, you had just suddenly remembered that you had brought someone along with you. Sitting up from lying down, you managed to quickly spot Julie being eyed closely by the four anthropomorphic animals, which she was having a bad time trying to convey what the hell is happening.
Probably the best time to intervene.
"Uhh...Sorry about that Julie. Anyways, Julie Rose, meet Freya Fabear, Chica Chicken, Bonnie Bunnie and Foxy The Pirate. But I figured you know them by now. Girls, meet Julie Rose. My boss as well as your so called 'Mother'. She inherited this place from her dad a long while ago"
There was a piercing silence that lingered in the air for a moment. Then, in a comical fashion, all four females yelled "What?!" at the exact same time, which you had to admit, was rather impressive.
"Wait wait wait wait! You mean to tell me these four...human-like animals are the very same mascots of this establishment?!" Julie yelled in a confused manner.
You nodded. "Actually it's called Anthropomorphic, and yea, they're the very same ones"
After the initial shock that overcame both parties, Freya was the first to recover. Coughing slightly, she went over to Julie and awkwardly scratched her head. "Ummm...We apologize for the suddenness that we had caused. We...honestly have no idea why we are like this, but it just, sort of happens every midnight all the way till 6 AM in the morning" Freya explained
"Err...I suppose it's alright. I mean, if it isn't your fault then...nothing much to do about that, I guess. Still, kinda weird that this happens" Julie admitted, giving a soft awkward chuckle. Freya followed suit and the whole place was now much livelier now without the slight hostility that you felt earlier on.
"Well then! Now that introductions are finished, off to the main course! Come on, follow me back to the office. I have something for the four of you that you might like" You grinned, walking back to the office with the sounds of the girls footsteps close behind you. You could hear them talking to each other in a more relaxed tone now, which you were grateful for. It would be troublesome to fix a fight that might have broken out.
You managed to catch snippets of their conversations. Most of them were related to knowing each other more. About hobbies, likes, dislikes and stuff of the likes. Though, you pretended not to hear them talk about you though. More particularly, your treatment towards the four mascots. Now, you were, in no given fashion, a sort of guy that would take advantage of a situation such as this. It would be awkward for you, since you knew damn well what she meant by that.
And not to mention it would be extremely cliche.
Finally, you managed to reach back to the office where you allowed the girls to enter first, earning yourself a couple of mild comments about being a kind person, a bashful "Thank you" from Bonnie and a rolled pair of eyes from your boss. After you entered the room, you told the girls to turn around, to which they obediently did as told, earning you another set of weird looks from you boss.
After moving the plastic bags from where you left them, you finally told the girls to turn back around and take a peek, though Bonnie quickly found out what her present was, assuming that the black guitar case didnt gave it away, which it did. "I-Is th-that for me...?" She asked, her voice feeling hopeful.
"I don't know. Take a look for yourself" You replied.
As Bonnie looked to be in a total trance by the case, her movement being slightly impaired, you turned to look at the mix expressions of the other girls. Freya was awestruck by the wonderful dress that you had gotten, her eyes quickly darting back and forth to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. Chica wasted no time in trying on the new sweater that you, awkwardly mind you, bought for her. She giggled a little and said how it was funny and cool how there was a hole for her bib to pass through.
God it was so hard trying to compose yourself.
Foxy, on the other hand, had a huge grin on her face, also wasting no time in putting on the vest first, followed by the long jacket. She inspected herself and gave off a hearty laugh. "Yarr! Now this be a fine piece a tailored jacket! Makes me feel like I'm with a real crew o' Buccaneers!" She exclaimed.
Not a moment too soon, you heard a gasp from where Bonnie was. Peeling your eyes off the other three, with Julie pestering Freya about how wonderful the dress was, you found Bonnie now carefully examining the guitar that was inside the case. She laid a finger tentatively on the fretboard before suddenly grasping the entire neck of the guitar, followed by taking it out of its case. You could tell how Bonnie was examining everything of it, the weight, the feel, carefully strumming the strings...
"...I-It's...P-Perfect..." You heard her faint voice comment on the entire guitar and you couldn't help but yell "Jackpot!" inside of you.
...
You smiled. Today was a good day.
Suddenly, you felt something placed against your body, something that felt warm and was wrapped around you. Shaking your head, you found that Bonnie had apparently given you a gigantic hug, where she had apparently placed her guitar back into its case. "...T-T...Th..Thank you...M-Mike..." You heard her meek voice say your name, which was followed by a sniff.
...
You looked down and your eyes widened. There was no mistaken it. She was crying. Not from sorrow, but from overwhelming joy. You just couldn't help but feel happy for her. And such, you returned the hug.
Also to find your yourself being wrapped by the other three mascots, where Chica had apparently yelled "Group hug!".
Your smile widened and you closed your eyes, relishing the warmth of the hug from these four incredibly weird yet special girls whom you had only met recently, yet had made a big impact in your life.
But somehow, you could feel that this was only the begginning. But you ditched the thought for a moment. Whatever trials that may occur in the future, you knew that you wouldn't have to do it alone.
"Thank you Michael..." A chorale of voices thanked you, which sounded like angels.
...
This, definitely, was a good day. No doubt about it.
