***Chapter 10***

"You want to go out with me?" Kagome asked and when she saw him nod his head and smile at her she couldn't help the next question that came out of her mouth.

"Why?" she asked while still looking up at him.

Her eyes widened a little when Haine didn't answer her just released his wings and plucked a feather and handed it to her. Not thinking anything about it she took the feather and Haine grinned before picking her up and looking at her smiling.

"With this we are officially a couple." He said.

Kagome was still in a little bit of shock over everything and not really understanding what Haine was talking about. So when he held her in his arms and turned like to go back into the cafeteria she was shocked out of her shock when he spoke again.

"Let's go tell everyone." He said while carrying her.

"Wait! I don't understand how does giving each other a feather mean we are a couple?" she asked while looking up at him in confusion.

He paused and looked down at her and raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean "what does it mean"? It means we're "husband and wife"! didn't you know that?" he asked not really understanding how she couldn't understand what giving feathers meant.

Kagome looked up at him before answering, "Haine I wasn't raised with other monsters. I was raised in the human world, but I do no some mating habits of a few but not many." She was a little surprised when Haine sat her down on the ground before leaning against a pillar and hanging his head.

"I was happy for nothing!" he said in a sad voice while leaning against a pillar and looking upset.

"I am sorry Haine, I didn't know what giving a feather meant. I just wanted you to see that it didn't matter what someone wings look because to someone else they can and are beautiful even if the person doesn't see it themselves." She said while moving toward him and touching his arm but quickly pulled it back and paled at what he said next.

"For the crows, exchanging feather…..signifies a deep, immeasurable love!" he said while watching her reaction before speaking again.

"For example….If you want to marry and have kids with me." He said while winking and rubbing the back of his head while smiling at her.

Kagome couldn't help but look at Haine in horror like he just admitted to kissing Sesshomaru before holding his feather back out to him and with a sad face spoke.

"I am sorry Haine I didn't know what it meant, and didn't mean to do something like that." She said while hoping he would understand that the feather she gave him was one of friendship not of love.

Kagome couldn't help but feel bad when she saw Haine look at her and give a small smile before speaking.

"Forget it, just keep it." He said and before she could say anything he spoke again.

"I won't keep in mind the feather you gave me either. Just relax." He said while still looking at her but she couldn't help but ask.

"Haine why would you want to be with me?" she asked while still looking up at him and holding his feather.

"Because only you and my mother don't think that my wings are strange." He said while looking at her softly before speaking again.

"I am very happy. So please keep the feather."

Kagome couldn't help but sigh while looking up at him and giving him a smile and decided to let it go it wasn't like she had anyone she loved or wanted to be with so it wouldn't hurt.

"Okay as long as you keep my feather I will keep yours Haine." She said while reaching out a hand for his hand and giving it a squeeze, but quickly pulled it back and blushed with the next words that come out of his mouth.

"Bear me some descendants okay?" she didn't know what to say before he turned his back to her and kept talking and she knew her blushing was getting worse with every word.

"Our child would definitely be cute. The color of his wings may be funny but not to worry." And Kagome couldn't tell if he was joking or not. Raising a hand to cover and hide her face she couldn't help but ask.

"What are you talking about?" she asked while slowly calming down but was soon shocked by what he said next.

"Isn't love like that? Isn't wanting to know the person you love most… The same even for humans?" He asked while looking her straight in the eyes and she couldn't help but sigh.

"It is true when you love someone to want to know them and be with them but they don't go straight to asking and talking about babies." She said but soon started thinking about Miroku and how quickly he use to ask women to bare his child and couldn't help the sweat drop at the back of her head.

They were both quickly pulled from their thoughts when Chiya and Kurou coming down the hall and hearing Chiya speak.

"Haine…..What are you doing here?" Chiya asked while walking toward them and Kagome couldn't help but look over at where Hiyo had been standing and watching her friend with a worried look when she moved toward them.

She couldn't help but smile when she saw Hiyo look at the feather in her hand and giving her a smile in return she mouthed later before putting it in her pocket out of site. They both looked over when they heard Chiya speak again.

"I want to be a student here for a while." Chiya said while looking at Haine.

"Oh?" he said a little surprises himself but figured she had a reason. "I will speak to the principle for you." He said while giving her a smile.

"Great I can be together with Tenma!" she said before clinging to him again.

Kagome glanced over at Hiyo and saw that her friend was hurt by how Kurou wasn't even trying to make the other girl let go of him. Even Kagome was starting to get pissed at the other girl for what she was doing to her friend, and started to say something but was stopped at hearing both her and Hiyo's names.

"Hiyo, Kagome!" Gin said while waving at them with Yuki behind him with the other girl holding him tight and looking scared while Maki stood looking at her like a hungry cat.

"Have you two heard about Chiya and Kurou?" he asked them while still smiling.

They both looked at each other and shook their heads before looking back at him and Hiyo asking.

"W-What thing?" Hiyo asked.

"Oh the both of them…..are actually brother and sister!" Gin said while still smiling.

Kagome could see that it looked like a weight had been lifted off of Hiyo's shoulders, but when she looked at Chiya she didn't see a sister looking at her brother. No, she saw a girl looking at the guy she wanted for herself and couldn't help but wonder just how far would Chiya take it? She was pulled from her thoughts when she heard Kurou speak.

"I didn't know that I had a sister either….Because I rarely meet my family…." He said while looking slightly pissed that Chiya was still clinging to him.

"I'm going off then." Haine said while looking at everyone and smiling before looking back at Kagome and was going to move toward her when Totoko moved toward him slowly while shaking.

"I..I'm going to!..." she said while still shaking.

"No, you can't. You have to stay here Totoko." Haine said while leaning down and looking at her with a little evil smirk.

"What? Why….? No! Even if I die?" Totoko said while paling and looking like she was living her worse nightmare.

Kagome watching with amusement as she watched Haine lean down and whisper something to Totoko before she looked like she was having a war within herself before standing and posing and brushing her hair back.

"I am staying here!" she said while Haine stood behind her and clapping while saying.

"Now that is what I call a professional!" Before moving back to her side and whisper something to her again before looking over and moving toward Kagome.

Once he was in front of her, he grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips and kissed it before turning and walking off the walk way and looking back at Kagome while letting his wings out.

"I'm going Kagome….I will come again." He said before taking off and Kagome couldn't help but watch as he flew away.

Kagome wasn't paying any attention to anyone till she heard Chiya, Totoko, and Maki talking about Haine like he was less than them just because of his wings.

"Unlike you three ugly creatures Haine is very handsome. It would be within your best interests to keep your mouths shut before I make sure they never open again." Kagome said while turning half way toward the three and giving a glare that would make Sesshomaru proud.

When everyone seemed shocked and the three girls frightened especially Chiya who had felt Kagome's power before, but what shocked them was what Hiyo said next.

"I think Haine is very handsome and his wings really seem to suit him….Don't they Kurou?" Hiyo asked while not really understand the look everyone save Kagome gave her.

"Yeah…..I hate his personality." Kurou said before turning and walking away. Kagome could tell that hearing Hiyo saying another guy was handsome seemed to upset Kurou and decided to talk to Hiyo about it but was soon brought out of her thoughts when Chiya walked closer and spoke to Hiyo.

"Were you…Relieved when you heard that we were sibling?" Chiya asked while smiling at Hiyo and Kagome knew she was going to end up hurting this brat before it was over and she was proven right by what Chiya said next.

"Stupid!" She said before turning and running after Kurou and grabbing his arm again.

Kagome looked over at Hiyo before wrapping her arm around her and giving her hug and smiling at her.

"Don't worry Hiyo. Kurou loves you and if Chiya gives you anymore grief I will beat her within an inch of her life." Kagome said while still smiling then grinning when she saw Hiyo smiling again.

"Thank you Kagome." Hiyo said before hugging her back.

"Besides what else can she do?" Kagome asked while pulling Hiyo along to follow after where Kurou and Chiya had went.

Once entering the cafeteria Kagome couldn't help but wish she could take her words back as she watched everyone suck up what the little brat was saying. Looking over at Hiyo who was eating an ice cream she couldn't help but wonder how much this was getting to her. Looking over toward Kurou Kagome could tell he was done with everything and since he was heading toward them it seemed she was right.

"Let's got home." Kurou said while looking down at Hiyo and Kagome couldn't help but smile while watching them.

"Can we….?" Hiyo asked not really sure.

"What?" Kurou asked while looking down at her.

"Just leave your sister behind?" Hiyo asked while still not looking sure about it and Kagome couldn't help but smile before standing up and moving toward them.

"Are you jealous?" Kurou asked while smirking down at Hiyo and knowing it was turn without even asking but couldn't help but poke fun at her.

"What never in my life.!" Hiyo said while looking shocked that he had figured it out that it was true.

"Hiyo it is fine to be jealous." Kagome said while smiling and chuckling at her friends and how they acted and looked over at Gin and Yuki when she came up behind her, and started joking with Hiyo and embarrassed her a little before Kurou scoped her up and spoke.

"Let us head back to our room."

Kagome smiled at the two and moved to pass them and head outside when Hiane's feather fell out of her pocket and Chiya was quick to grab it.

"Hiyo you dropped something." She said while looking smug with herself, "This! Haine's feather!" she said while holding it up to show everyone and Kagome quickly turned around and glared at the girl who was only looking at Kurou and Hiyo.

"You exchanging feathers with Haine, means that you are willing to out with him now, right? Congratulations!" Chiya said while waving the feather back and forth.

Soon everyone was talking about how exchanging feathers was an important thing among crows and poor Hiyo was upset since it wasn't true.

"No, it isn't true! I did not know there was such a tradition!" she said hoping someone would believe her and the only one that did was Kagome and she was about to say something when she saw Kurou set Hiyo down and move toward Chiya.

"It really isn't like that!" Hiyo said while holding onto Kurou's arm and Kagome knew it was time to speak and stepped forward.

"Chiya is right the feather belongs to Haine." Kagome said while looking at Chiya who just couldn't help but grin like she'd won something and Kagome decided to bust her bubble.

"But, the feather was given to me not Hiyo. So if you don't mind Chiya I would like to have it back." Kagome said while holding her hand out to Chiya who looked like she was about to swallow her tongue and held the feather out to Kagome.

Kagome walked forward and took the feather from her and decided to speak.

"The way you act toward everyone and especially Hiyo, Chiya is truly starting to upset me, and if you wish to stay the way you are Chiya I would control yourself." Kagome said before turning and looking at Kurou who had released his wings and took a feather from his wings and held it out to Hiyo.

"Actually….. I was waiting until you were used to life here, before giving it to you." Kurou said while giving Hiyo a kind smile.

When Hiyo accepted it everyone was happy for the two except for Chiya who looked like to Kagome that she was still planned something but she was quickly pulled from her thoughts when Gin and Yuki spoke.

"Are you relieved now?" Gin asked while leaning on Kurou.

"Eh?"

"That is great (luckily she did not reject it)" Yuki said while smiling like he usually does. Kagome couldn't help but laugh at what happened next when Kurou held a hand out to Hiyo.

"Ah, that's right! Hiyo, you have to give one too!" he said while looking at a happy small kid.

"What!? Why!?" Hiyo asked surprised.

"Because that is the way things are done and I want everyone to know that we are together." Kurou said while making it sound logically.

"It is not like my wings appear as I wish!" she said looked embarrassed that she had to admit it and it wasn't for lack of trying.

"All right I will help you." Kurou said before pulling her close and kissing her for all she was worth. Kagome had to admit she herself was a little embarrassed by how easily Kurou did that and couldn't help but feel for poor Hiyo who wasn't use to so much public display. As soon as her wings appeared Kagome had to admit she was a little surprised at how quickly Kurou moved picking Hiyo up under one arm and getting a feather.

"With this, we are a couple!" Kurou said while looking happy and smug at the same time.

When Kagome heard someone say Chiya's name she looked and watched the girl run away and Kagome didn't feel upset for the girl. Chiya, needed to learn that she couldn't have everyone or everything and that there was always going to be someone that loved someone else.

Kagome couldn't help but watch and laugh as Kurou and Hiyo, but decided it was time to go back to her room and take a long bath and then go to bed. Waving at everyone and telling them goodnight she flew off toward her room, but she couldn't help but wonder what Chiya was going to do now that Kurou had exchanged feathers with Hiyo? Kagome gave a sigh and decided to deal with the problem when it came and headed to her bathroom.
