Small chapter this time. The next one will probably take a while, I don't have much planned or written down at this moment.

Enjoy!

They went to their usual café, a little hole in the wall they discovered one day while perusing Magnolia's local book stores. It was a quaint little place, and the two mages sat on the patio for lunch.

Levy attempted to make small talk.

"So Lucy, are you done with your next chapter yet? I can't wait to read it!" The bluenette really was geniuinely interested.

"Not until you quit dodging my questions," The celestial spirit mage nearly slammed her hands on the table, "You promised me the juicy details!"

"Well, not a lot happened. I mean, we kissed and..."

Lucy's eyes flew open.

"What? I thought you said it wasn't a date?"

"It wasn't! You're the one who said it was!" Levy defended.

"Ok, fine!" the blonde finally gave in, "it wasn't a date, but tell me what happened!"

Luckily for Levy, Lucy managed to keep quiet through the whole story.

"Natsuuu, why are we following them?" Happy whined

They peeked around the corner at the pair of mages, gradually advancing until both could hear the conversation.

"Ooooh! I'm so happy for you!" Lucy fawned over her best friend.

Natsu tripped and fell out into the open, earning a surprised look from Levy and a murderous one from Lucy.

"Er...hi?"

"Lucy Kick!"

A waiter emerged from the small store, obviously roused by the ruckus the dragon slayer and his Exceed had created.

"Ladies? Are these two bothering you?" he inquired

"Oh no, they were just leaving" Lucy turned to glare at them, "Isn't. That. Right.?"

Levy laughed quietly as the two bolted from the area.

"Sorry Levy-chan. I don't know what he's thinking sometimes, honestly..."

"It's alright."

"Levy?"

The bluenette was still sitting at the table, eyes low and hands clutched together.

"Sometimes, Gajeel looks at me like he's not even interested. I don't know if he's just scared or guilty, or what...but it doesn't matter to me, you know? What he did, that's over with. He said he wanted to try, but he seems so distant still."

Lucy put her hands over Levy's own.

"I've seen the way he's looked at you when you're not watching. A lot of us have."

The little mage blushed.

"I can tell he really feels something for you. Maybe he just doesn't know how exactly to express it. I don't blame him anymore for it, but it doesn't seem like he's had the best upbringing, at least since Metalicana left."

"Yeah..."

"You'll be ok Levy, things will work out. You two have just started."

The script mage nodded, beaming up at her friend.

"What would I do without you, Lu-chan?"

"You'll never find out!" the celestial mage giggled.
