Feeling a bit nervous Naruto left the comforts of his home, or at least he tried to. Something was holding back while he was trying to get out of bed. It was Hana holding him in with both arms wrapped around him. She woke up as soon as she felt her mate move. "Morning already? Where are you going Naruto?" Naruto told her he needed a snake bite first aid kit. She told him that she already packed that among other things in a scroll for him.
Naruto began to wonder what he had done to get such a caring lady by his side. That too was answered by her by telling him she found a guy who values her as a person, cares about her needs and was willing to protect her. The triplets had to also say being a kind father figure too. Naruto scratch being each of their ears and they looked quite happy.
" So what do you expect for your first test?" Hana clearly wanting to know if he had a clue what was going to happen. He told her he expected to be tested in all typical ninja skills. Figure out illusions was obvious, and information gathering, then ambush and retrieval skills, last but not least strategic thinking and combat. All in all, he was going to have his hands full, trying to keep both of his teammates alive. He also expected that the teams from other villages trying to sabotage leaf teams so they would not pass. Limiting the number who pass weakens a village after all.
"You have no faith in the other village's wanting to cooperate and be friendly do you?" Naruto kissed Hana and she was really surprised and happy to be kissed by her mate, Naruto smiled and simply held her close, "None, whatsoever. I think that three world wars pretty much give me the right to be suspicious, speaking of suspicious there is someone watching us through that window over there, don't worry my shadow clones will take care of him."
"This is great, this little scene can be made into a new chapter of my new book." Jiraiya was so focused taking notes about what he just saw that he didn't notice someone touching his shoulder trying to gain his attention. "Look I am busy! Go bother someone watching else." This was clearly the wrong thing to do, all five shadow clones decided on the same thing, 'The pervert needs a bath to wash his dirty mind' they all made the same hand signs and did the Wind style:Great Breakthrough Jutsu and sent the pervert flying towards the bathhouse, too bad he landed on the women's side, where a group of kunoichi decided to given him an outstanding beating.
"Well if you think that you need to be careful, do what you must, but promise me you will come home." He told Hana that it would take an army to try and stop him from returning home safe and sound. The three Huskies were quite happy to hear that and jumped on him knocking him down and licking his face in sheer joy that he was really doing his best to come back home.
"It seems that our three little ones were more worried than they let on." He scratched each behind their ears and they calmed down. "I know that these exams are dangerous but the sooner I pass, the sooner we can get our marriage ceremony done, and I can finally be able to tell the entire village that I am the luckiest husband around." Hana could hardly stop herself from laughing. She simply was that happy to hear her mate say something like that.
The day of the exam was finally here, and Naruto packed everything he needed in a few storage scrolls, Hana was fast asleep as were the three huskies, he kissed Hana on her cheek and left a note telling him what he was going to do. On his way, he saw the grandson of the Hokage being bullied by a guy who was wearing makeup and had a giant bandaged wrapped thing on his back, next to him was a blond with a giant fan strapped on her back. "If you don't want to cause an incident I would like that kid alone, he is the grandson of the Hokage." Upon hearing this the girl with the fan agreed.
"Hey, bro doesn't just stand on that tree branch and talk some sense into this moron, he is from your village after all." Gaara jumped down and loved at him with his psychotic stare. "Who might you be to call me brother, how are you, my brother?" Kankuro and Temari were shocked to find the leaf ninja was not scared at all. "Quit kidding around brother one, you know full well that I am brother nine." Gaara looked at Kankuro with the same stare. "Leave the kid, we have to hurry or we will arrive late."
"But brother this brat bumped into me, and he did not apologize." Gaara did not bother to answer, he simply grabbed the top of the giant gourd strapped to his back. Seeing that Gaara was serious he let go of the kid, and Gaara let go of the top of the gourd. "See you in the exams, brother nine. Mother tells me your blood must be delicious. I sure hope I can feel some to my mother."
"You alright Konahamaru?" The kid jumped on his feet and smiled, "Sure am, thanks, Naruto. But you need to hurry or you will be late, and do me a big favor, if you can the freak wearing makeup, kick his ass for me. Teach him not to mess with those of the leaf." Naruto told him he would do his best and he vanished from where he was standing. "Man, Naruto sure is cool." Konahamaru clearly was impressed.
When Naruto reached the academy building his team was waiting for him. Hinata was looking at a list of things, clearly seeing if she missed anything. Sai was drawing something and was clearly making an effort, so Naruto decided to take a look, "Is that your future plan or wishful thinking?" Hinata wondered what he could mean by saying that so she decided to take a look. It was a picture of an adult Hinata wearing a beautiful wedding kimono. The figure looked happy by the smile and had a great figure by the way the kimono looked.
"You know what, that is a great looking dress, but sorry Sai, my father probably is going to end up telling me I have an arranged marriage in my future. Still, like the dress." Sai looked at her and smiled. The group entered the building and were told their exam was on classroom 2-B. They walked up the stairs and went to the assigned room, only to stop and look at the room number.
"This has to be the single worst Genjutsu I have ever seen. I swear do they even do the entrance exam in ANBU anymore?" Naruto was clearly upset at how the Genjutsu was used. Said understood the reason for his disappointment. "I know, Naruto. It would have been better to just change the next room to be the room, and make one that made it look like this door was a wall." The ANBU hiding nearby kicked his partner on the leg. 'See even genins knew this was a lousy idea.'
Ibiki saw Naruto and walked up to him with a smile on his face, "Naruto I need you to pick up your pay more often, or I will run out of space in my office." He threw a storage scroll at him. Hinata asked Ibiki what was Naruto getting paid for. "Killing rogue ninja. This guy has killed a total of 15 class b to rogue ninjas, the hunter commander us still waiting for your answer." Naruto smiled and told him to tell her that it was still no, until further notice. Said was now curious about the question and Naruto told him he would answer his questions later.
They took a seat, all except Naruto. He was eyeing this guy wearing glasses. "Is there something I can help you with?" Kabuto trying to act all innocent. "You been on these exams before?" Kabuto smiled at his chance to look impressive. "This is my seventh try, I know pretty much everyone in the exams. You want information on them I am happy to share some with you." Sasuke heard and jumped at the chance to get some free info. He asked about Gaara, Rock Lee, and Neji Hyuuga.
Kabuto began reading the info cards, almost everyone was shocked to find out that Gaara had never been injured, he had done some high-rank missions. Naruto knew that the one tail was responsible for his miraculous ability to defend himself. Kiba just asked about Naruto Uzumaki. Kabuto began to read and everyone was surprised that he had killed a high number of rank A rogue ninja, for at least four villages. Naruto finally got up and took the card from Kabuto. "You know that us a very interesting perfume your wearing. I could swear it smells almost venomous." Kabuto thanked him for his compliment.
Ibiki went through his entire routine of scaring the living hell out of the people taking the exam, thank goodness he had the foresight of making a half dozen clones and had then hide where they could observe everything, the distraction that Sasuke unintentionally caused was the perfect cover for the clones to take a position. They were so focused on Kabuto and his little card trick that they never realized that the room had a few half dozen items on the walls that had not been there before.
The exam questions were meant to be impossible, they soon realized that one of the people watching had the right answers, Hinata found the person rather quickly with the use of her eyes. She began to tap her pen on her desk in a code the team had developed, but Naruto needed to get the attention of Ibiki so he could pass on a message to the ANBU and the Hokage.
He went over to a side of the room and summon Cerberus, he appeared in a much more smaller form. He got something from his hip pouch and began to look like he was having fun with his summon. Ibiki hated criminals, but he hated slackers just as much. "Naruto what are you doing? You are in the middle of my exam." Naruto looked quite serious but told him he was playing poker. When he saw the hellhound holding his cards with his claw, "Alright deal me in."
As they played he caught Naruto putting something into the betting pool, it looked like he was increasing his bet on his hand. But the truth was far from it, it was a note that was made to look like a check. The final hand was drawn and Cerberus folded, Nature had three of a kind, Ibiki had two pairs, of aces. Having lost he took the money in the pot. He thanked them both for a fun time, Cerberus left back to his realm.
Ibiki began to read what was on the checks. 'Ibiki the guy named Kabuto has information no Genin would ever possess. I don't think he is a Genin or at loyal to the leaf. On a final note, he smells of a viper. I think he is a mole for Orochimaru, I have no idea what his goal is but it can't be good inform the ANBU and the Hokage, I will tell Anko during the next phase.'
"Alright maggots, here is the last question, but before you take it you should know if you decided to take it and answer incorrectly, you will be banned from ever taking this exam again for life, take the question and risk your future or turn yellow and get out to be able to try again next year those are your choices."
Half the room left, somewhere heard saying that no exam was worth being stuck as a genin for life. Kiba being the impatient moron that he was asked to hear the question. Naruto could not believe that this idiot would one day be the uncle to his kids. "Kiba that was the question, take the risk or don't. Information is power and in war, it can save a village, as Chuunin we have to make this kind of decisions all the time, isn't that right, Ibiki?"
"Took the words right out of my mouth, you are absolutely right. All those present passes this phase of the exams." Just then someone threw a smoke bomb and when the smoke cleared Anko was ready to take the group to the next phase if the exams, she told them to follow her and she ran, the group followed her to what looked like a wire fence guarding a massive forest. "Welcome to phase two, I would like to welcome you all to the forest of death."
