Wonderland: Thank you Litt'Vampx for telling me that I spelled a name wrong. That helps me a lot and I will be sure to spell her name right from now on.

Gene: By the way, we still are in the closet, keeps us safe from Naru and Mai. Lots of pillows and covers-

Wonderland: and a stove and peanuts and other food and things a closet shouldn't have.

Gene: Hope you like it. Wonderland does-not own Ghost Hunt.

Wonderland: I also do not own the names Vriska or Aradia. I got them off of Homestuck and they belong to Hussie along with the words sweeps. Just love Homestuck and couldn't think of names…*cries* I'M HORRIBLE! DON'T LOOK AT ME!

Ch. 10

Explanations

MAI POV

It took hours but we were finally back at SPR. Everything had been packed up and the ride was silent. Everyone in their own thoughts. When we had gotten back me, Kotka and Wonder quietly went to make tea for everyone. As the water came to a boil thoughts were shared. Ear buds were once again in my ears, Goodbye to Alice, a Vocaloid song, playing lowly.

'What should we tell them?' Wonder asked, staring at the tea kettle in fascination and gently petting Despair. Cyam rubbed gently against my leg.

'They know my name now so I guess I shall tell them my story. The only one who knows yours other than me is Gene.' I sighed.'This is becoming highly troublesome.'

'Tell us about it.' Kotka snorted as the kettle screeched. She took it off, adding the tea and coffee to one cup as I got the platter and cups and Wonder got the sugar cubes.

'We can't tell them about you two since they have not met the true you yet,' I continued.

'But to tell them about your past, you must also introduce two players. A player who has yet to show his face and one not yet spoken about.' Wonder said.

'And if he likes that face without claw marks he'll keep hiding it.' I growled out then calmed. 'I will have to talk about him… and her.'

Wonder and Kotka gasped; there was a price to pay if you broke the rules of this game.

'That's breaking a rule! You know the punishment for that!' Wonder yelled.

I held a hand out. 'It would be, IF he had never been mentioned, but he has, though his name was never spoken and on top of that, they have been attacked, that pulls them all the way in. and in order to survive this game…'

'They must know who they are going up against.' Kotka muttered.

'And who they are fighting with.' Wonder finished.

'But we won't tell them that part.' a smirk placed itself on my lips.

A sly smile placed itself on their lips. They nodded.

'But what of the other player?' Kotka asked.

I sighed. 'I will have to take punishment for that.'

They looked to me with remorse before nodding.

"They are a part of this game now so-" Wonder started, speaking aloud.

"They can now know-" Kotka whispered.

"About the Game." I smiled wildly. "Let's get this started."

NARU POV

When they went to the kitchen, the whispers started.

"What just happened?" Ayako asked, keeping her voice down.

"First," Yasu started. "We were asked by Sai, whom we later found out was a ghost, to get rid of something that was hunting his home, second, while putting cameras up and checking temps Mai, Kotka and Naru are attacked by Fira who was just passing through and we get our butts handed to us by Loke the dark Prince before Mai comes and uses some weird power to torment him with snowflakes before freezing and shattering him into a million pieces."

"And that she has a fiancée." Madoka added, causing me to stiffen the slightest bit.

Everyone froze at that. By my guess, they didn't know.

'How could she have a fiancée? When did this happen' I thought. 'Why didn't she tell anyone? Did she have one before she confessed to me?' the last one twisted my heart painfully.

'Don't believe everything you hear without first hearing from the source.' Gene's voice whispered in my head before disappearing.

"I think we should question her on that, going by what she said when he was mentioned, I think you all are going over this wrong." I spoke up.

"He's right." A cold voice came from the hallway.

We looked and saw Mai, Kotka, and Wonderland come in, tea platter in their hands. Silently they poured and past out the tea. Mai quietly gave Lin his coffee before sitting down on the sofa we had left for them. Everyone was quiet for a few minutes before I spoke up.

"What are you Mai?" I asked coldly. "Or should I call you Frost?"

"Both are my true name but let me introduce myself formally. I am Frost, Princess of the Kingdom hidden in Frost and Ice." Mai said. "I will tell you my story, one I could not tell you before now."

"Why couldn't you tell us before?" John asked, rubbing Masako's shoulder as she leaned on him.

"We have told you before," Wonderland huffed. "It was against the rules."

"But it's not now?" Yasu asked, looking confused as she nodded. "Why?"

"Well, if you a part of the game, you must know who you are to go up against, am I right?" Kotka asked.

Everyone was silent as the words sank in.

"3" Mai said.

"2" Kotka muttered.

"1" Wonderland finished and right on time.

"WHAT?!" everyone, minus Lin and I shouted.

"What do you mean "we're in the game?" Monk shouted.

"We mean what we said." Mai replied in a colorless voice. "Once you were attacked by Loke, you all were pulled into the game."

"Not to mention you all know thinks that you should not." Wonderland piped up.

"And you saw Mai kill a demon using powers you didn't know she had." Kotka added.

"Now, if I may, I would like to tell you the story of my last day." Mai said, and so the story began.

MAI POV

Many years before…

I lay in the field of frost flowers, small light purple petals protecting a white center. I watch the sky; ever present gray clouds forever block the sun's light, giving only enough for the ice castle to shimmer and glimmer gently. Nights were better, the clouds went away showing us the beauty of the ever changing moon and the sharp coldness of the stars. It always snowed, clouds or not, and the wind always blew, but no one wore coats. Being part of the ice ourselves, we never felt coldness.

I sat up, snowflakes that had accumulated on my clothing fell around me as I picked the flower close to me. It was different than the other flowers, having a purple inside and white protecting it.

"So pretty…" I muttered. "I want it…"

Being thirty-four sweeps, seventeen in human years, it was only elementary that I be able to freeze the flower into a ball of clear ice.

"Princess! Princess where are you?" a familiar voice cried out.

"Over here Aradia." I called her over. "Look at this frost flower I found, it's different."

Aradia walked over breathing a sigh of relief. Her short, pixie cut silver hair hung unruly around her head, being managed only by a few white blows, pupil less gray eyes looked at the frozen beauty held in my hands and pale eyes in amazement she only showed to me. She gray short sleeved dress came down to her knees and made her look paler than she already was. Shimmering translucent wings twitched on her back, she was a snow sprite and one of the few people I could call a true friend.

"It is beautiful…." She said before shaking her head of such thoughts. "But Princess, you're needed at the Castle. Prince Silva is here and he wants to ask your hand in marriage."

I sighed in frustration and she shot me a sympathetic glance. I don't know what it is about him, but it made my skin crawl. Silva Prince of Void had been asking for my hand in marriage and I've been giving him my foot kicking him out the highest widow of the castle, sadly as his title suggest he only opened a void underneath him, fell through and landed in the throne room, telling my parents, who also disliked him, how he wanted to marry me.

"Why won't he give me a break?! How many times do I have to throw him out the window before he gets a clue?" I complained still getting up.

"He never will." Aradia floated up, offering a hand to me. I took it and in an instant we were in the air, heading for the castle.

~~~AT THE CASTLE~~~
We arrived ten minutes later, lading on the balcony that opened to my room. The door that suddenly burst open to let out a black haired little girl, no older than twelve sweeps, ran and jumped into my arms.
"Frost!" She yelled, hugging me tight. "Your back! I missed you and Silva kept messing with me about where you went, but I didn't tell him!"
"Thanks Vriska." I patted her head and she beamed in happiness, miss matched blue and reds irises staring up at me. She was the only one with those eye colors and fully black hair. A black dress went down to her feet that were covered with black and white striped knee high socks and black flats. Pale lips turned into a smile as she pulled me down to her height and kissed my cheek.
"I will always protect my big sister." She said, then added. "Mother and father wish to see you."
I nodded and walked into my room, stopping to change into something better than the plain gray dress I wore when I went out.
"I already thought of that." Vriska said, pulling out a frost colored skirt that fell down to my knees in a layered fashion. She had also picked out a sliver shirt with long sleeves that was sheer and last but not least, my crown, I didn't normally wear it because it had this annoying tendency to keep my hair from covering my eyes. My weird, freakish ice blue eyes that no one in our history had ever had, even Vriska's eye color had shown up at least once or twice, I was the only one, which when you think about it was weird, I mean you would think at least one person would remember seeing or having eyes like this, oh I forgot, only Prince and princess's have pupils and lose them when they take over, my bad.
"Thanks." I say to her before leaving her with Aradia and heading to the throne room.
The way was quiet and I found this strange. Usually the servants would be walking around, gossiping and doing all sorts of crazy things they always did to make this place brighter, but it was silent, deathly silent, then I came across some of them, well, what was left. These servants had been brutally murdered, blood colored the walls and then I heard the screams from the ballroom.
"Mother, father." I ran, pushing myself like I never had before and stood in front of the door in seconds. I pushed open the door and wished I hadn't.
The once beautiful room was covered in the scarlet of my mother and father. Servants and soldiers alike littered the floor and standing in the middle of the massacre, Silva.
His black eyes locked with mine and his face lit up into a smile, on the end of his sword was my mother, father lying next to her as she slid onto the floor.
"What have you done?!" I took a step back.
"Now don't go." He said, rapping chains around me and making me unable to move. "You just got here and you wouldn't want to leave your little sister here without you now would you?"
Suddenly a void opened beside him, Aradia holding a struggling Vriska in her hands.
"Aradia! How could you?!" I yelled, anger coursing through my veins.
She only laughed, then changed, short hair grew long and red and grey eyes slowly turned black. There in front of me, holding my sister stood a shape shifter.
"AS you can see your loyal servant is no longer with you." He laughed.
"What have you done with her?" I said seething.
"Don't worry, you'll see her soon."
I growled and struggled against the chains, only succeeding in entangling myself more.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you Frost." He sneered and my sister gave a cry of pain. "Don't want your poor little sister getting hurt do you?"
"You bastard."
He smiled widely as he came to stand in front of me, gently grabbing hold of a lock of my hair, before the look in his eyes changed.
"I'll kill you for this." I hissed, straining against my restraints while the cold prince just shook his head.
"This would not have happened" he started, looking at me with cold pity. "If you would just marry me."
"I will NEVER marry you, murderer. You will pay for what you have done! I will kill you."
"Only if you survive the game." With the flick of his wrist, a void opened underneath me, slowly pulling me into darkness, I struggled as I fell, glaring pure hatred at the prince and caringly towards my sister, tears bright in her eyes. "You have until your nineteenth birthday to beat the game or if I find your earlier. Which ever happens first."
Only my head was above the void, but not for long. The last thing I heard was.
"Think of it as a game of hide and seek. Only if I find you, you are mine…."
~~~IN SPR~~~

"When I had awoken, I was here in my five year old body. He couldn't take away my powers and he let me keep my memory, to taunt me." I finished.

Everyone was deathly silent, guess they never thought anything like this would ever happen. Well they might as well take the coffee to the face.

Ayako broke the silence first, slowly standing up and coming to stand before me before pulling me up into a bear hug. To say I was surprised was an understatement and what she said next surprised me even more.

"I'm so sorry." She whispered just loud enough for the others to hear before breaking into tears. "I'm sorry you've been holding that in, all that sadness and rage."

I didn't know how to act so I kinda started to pat her back.

"It's not your fault-" I started only to be interrupted my masako.

"But we should have noticed. And I was always so mean to you without ever knowing your pain…" she burst out in tears too.

Everyone seemed to be crying or holding it back, even Lin had silent tears flowing down his face. Everyone except Naru, his eyes held a coldness that I gave people on the days I wanted to be nice.

"Your tale seems a little farfetched Frost." He said, shocking almost everyone in the room with his coldness. "I do not believe a word you said."

"Naru!" Madoka cried out in shock. "How could you?"

"Why should I believe a word your saying?" he said, ignoring her.

"What do you want me to do? Make a snowman then have it dance on the table? You saw what happened and know that you know that there is no reason for me not to tell my story." I said, ignoring the sharp pain that suddenly made it aware just under my lungs.

"You lied to us."

"I did not lie, there are things I couldn't tell you, things I still can't say and things I have to pay for saying too early." I whispered the last part.

He sat forward. "Why can't you say-"

He was stopped as Wonder and Kotka suddenly stopped me from hitting the floor. The pain underneath my lungs had moved up. Unbearable pain, like I was being hit repeatedly with a hammer while set aflame and having different poisons coursing through my system. Something with a copper taste flowed slowly into my mouth.

"Mai?!" Ayako yelled or at least I think she did, I was only aware of the pain.

"Kotka, get her to the bathroom now!" I felt myself being lifted and put in front of the toilet as I vomited rivers of scarlet color.

"It's okay." A soothing voice said. "It'll be over soon."

I stopped thinking, only believing the voice was right.

~~~NARU POV~~~
I stood in shock, like everyone else, as she threw up rivers of blood and Kotka muttered words to her. It looked like it would never end.
"W-what wrong with her?" Yasu asked horrified.
Wonderland sighed. "We told her this would happen if she told you."
"Wait, she knew this would happen?!" john asked.
Wonder only nodded "This is her punishment."
"For what?" Lin asked.
She stared right at me. "For breaking a rule."
Wonderland: ANNNNNNNNNDDDDDDD DONE! Sorry for being a little late, you know how that school is, the bane of everyone's existence.
Gene: Not mine.
Wonderland:*ignores* if you wanna know the age in sweeps, just divide the years by 2. For those of you who want to read Homestuck, Vriska and Aradia don't act this way, for those who read and have gotten that far, you know this.
Gene and Wonder: REVIEW! (^.^)/
