I was nervous to say the least, how couldn't I be? She walked out of the bathroom and I froze, she wasn't wearing what she usually did. There wasn't dark colours that matched her hair and eyes, no quite different actually her dress was white and went to her knees clinging to her curves making her skin seem a little more golden. It had short selves that only just covered her shoulders and right down the middle of the dress was a gold zipper that made it's way all the way to the end and I can't lie I really wanted to unzip that dress. The white made her hair stand out darker then ever, the curls were gone but instead strait and flowing down her back to her waist but pinned away from her face that had light makeup, she looked like and angel. "You look good comrade" I couldn't find anything to say but even if I did I probably wouldn't be able to form the words, she walked over her heels clicking in time with my heart that was slamming against my rib cage "do you like what you see?" She smiled cheekily and twirled only going half way because I grabbed her mid spin and hugged her from behind leaving a kiss on the bare part of her shoulder "I'll take that as a yes" she breathed before turning in my arms "beautiful" was the only word that slipped through my lips and even then it was a whisper she smiled brightly and wrapped her arms around my neck "I love you" I leaned my forehead against hers and whispered back "you have no idea" she gave me a quick kiss on the cheek then slipped her hand into mine intertwining our fingers "lead the way comrade" and with that we left to go to dinner.
When we got to the restaurant we stopped and rose looked at the sign "what does it say?" I smiled "well it roughly translates to bison steak house" she was practically drooling the moment I said it "you brought me to a fancy restaurant that has steak in the name, see that's one of the reasons I love you, you know me so well" she smiled and pressed her lips to mine. For the whole night just seeing the smile on her face I had to fight the urge to just ask her, then again I couldn't just ask her either. I knew I shouldn't have listened to her but babushka had said that I would know when to ask so I waited as patiently as I could.
We sat at and talked, I couldn't help but laugh at the look on her face when she saw her meal. My rosa. She kept bring up the story's my sisters had told her about my birthdays and the multiple girls I had crushed on and or dated when I was a kid which seemed to make her extremely happy to talk about saying things like "so you actually did that?" And "did you really like that girl. I saw her in your year picture and if I may say my self even though I'm bios you could have gotten any girl there" which I highly doubted. We spent the night laughing and telling awful jokes, reminiscing about times we had spent together. Soon we had realised there wasn't many people left in the restaurant and that we had been there for hours. I paid the check and rose rolled her eyes as usual but I couldn't breathe. It wasn't like normal, it defiantly wasn't. I wasn't scared that she would say no, I knew she loved me so why was my heart beating so hard? I wrapped my jacket around her shoulders before we stepped out knowing how cold it would be then we went out into the crisp night air and the wet concrete out side "damn it's raining" I muttered pulling out my phone to call a cab but rose grabbed the phone off me smiling like a mad man "what are you" she shut me up by pressing a kiss to my lips that ended all to quickly. She pulled away slipping her shoes off and putting my jacket and phone with them out of the rain before running off into the soft mist of water "come on comrade!" I sighed and shook my head before walking out into the rain. I found her spinning around like a little girl might do, her dress became soaked through and her once strait hair began curling again "what are you doing rose?" She skipped up to me and grabbed my hands "please tell me you've danced in the rain before?" When I didn't answer she went wide eyed "we will have to change that" she said in a tone that implied no arguing. There was no music, it was raining and I knew we must look ridiculous but I had to admit spinning rose around and holding her in my arms like that was defiantly a memory I'd never forget. She placed her hands on my shoulders and I placed mine around her waist, I could hear her humming as we swayed in the empty car park with the rain pattering all around us, the song seemed so familiar but I couldn't place it but I didn't care it was beautiful.
"Do I get an award for getting a grown man to dance in the rain like a kid?, it seems like an achievement to me" I shook my head with an amused smile and pulled her close "Maybe we can get someone to give you a participation award" she said knowing full well that I thought participation awards were stupid "haha very funny" I said pulling back to see her face that was shining with water droplets and had a wide smile "your beautiful rosa, the most beautiful thing I have ever had the pleasure of seeing" her smile softened and her gaze changed from humour filled to love "I would give you some soppy reasons why I love you but we'd be here all night comrade and yours would still be more poetic anyway" we both chuckled lightly before our lips met in a soft slow kiss. How could this women do such annoying things to my body. I was hot even though I was in the pattering rain in a parking lot out side of the reasterant, I was shivering because of her skin was on mine, my brain felt as though it was goo and my lips felt hot and tingly. Only rose could do that to me. Only rose."I have a present for you" I said trying to keep my voice even. She smiled like a child on their birthday "what did you get me?" I rolled my eyes and begun to walk over to where my black jacket laid with my phone and Rose's shoes, I had to stay calm "well" I said picking up my jacket "babushka had this old air loom which she sent me in the post a while ago, I got it fixed up so you could have it" she gave me a questioning look but didn't say anything as I pulled the small black box out of the pocket "that is if you want it" I placed it in her cold wet hand and watched her eyes go wide when she opened it. The ring had been in my family for a very long time, passed on through the generations. Babushka had sent the ring to me and I instantly recognised it. That was one of the precious things babushka had shown me as a child, she told story's of the past owners as if they were fairy tales.
It had a thin golden band that came to the front to hold a golden oval that had swirls like vines of plants and a red ruby oval sitting in the middle shining beautifully. I saw Rose's mouth twitch as she stared at the ring "what?" I asked trying to figure out what was so amusing "when you went to get my shoes, you were picking up the ring" smart girl "that means that Chris knew... Eddie?" I nodded and stepped closer to my soaking girlfriend "before the flight?" I shrugged "he deserved your glare" she laughed a little not taking her eyes off the ring "it's beautiful, are you sure yeva wants me having it?" I cupped her damp cheek in my hands and made her look at me "she may act tough around you but we both know she loves you, she wants someone strong and beautiful to have it. She wants you to have it. And I definatly want you to have it" rose picked up the ring and slid it on her finger before looking up at me with her wet hair hanging around her face "I love her to. And I will never take this off but I will miss people yelling Hathaway at me though, it's kind of a thing like 'Hathaway must have done it'" I rolled my eyes and pulled her close looking at her, she was smiling a huge bright breathtaking smile. "but I think I like rose belikova better" she continued "it's got a better rig to it that and it's your name. I guess it's official I'm engaged" she wrapped her arms around my neck having to stand on her tippy toes. i leaned closer to her to her moving her curtain of hair away "it defiantly suites you" she leaned up and whispered in my ear "I can call you my fiancée now comrade your all mine" I could have said something sweet like "I always have been" or "and you are mine" but I couldn't. I just couldn't. That dress was like a torture device to me while at the exact same time I loved it more than anything. So Instead I kissed her, our damp cloths sticking together, my hands lost in her endless curls. She was right, rose was officially my fiancée, my soon to be bride. A funny thought poped into my head of rose in a floor length white gown... That would be interesting... And lissa with an excuse to shop.
