I do not own Teen Wolf or any of the characters (If I did the show would focus on Derek)
I'm back, had the worst illness, I think it was the flu, all better now though, Please R&R I love reviews, they make me happy.
Derek's POV
I woke up the next morning to find Isaac and Aly sleeping on either side of me. I wondered why Isaac was here then remembered it was Saturday so he didn't have school. I lied still and listened for a second, wondering if Peter was awake. I heard three heartbeats besides my own so he was definitely here. Two of them were resting, the two next to me. The third heartbeat was too fast for the person attached to it to be sleeping. Great, I thought, Peter's up.
I walked out into the more open part of the train station and saw Peter sitting in a chair staring at a piece of paper on the table, he didn't look up, "Good morning, Derek."
"Good morning," I responded as politely as I could which was a lot considering I still wanted to tear the man's throat out for killing Laura, now I had threatening Aly, scaring the pack, beating Scott and I, and offering to bite an Argent to add to my ever growing list of why my uncle needed to die. But I knew if I tried to kill him now all I would get for it was pain. There was the two nearby sleeping cubs to consider. I hadn't forgotten Peter's threat of hurting the cubs to punish me and I had no doubt he'd make good on it if I tested him. I thought about what Uncle Nick would say if I let anyone, even Peter, harm his daughter, that Isaac, Erica, Boyd, and even Scott were my responsibility. I couldn't challenge Peter, I had cubs to protect. I wanted to talk to him about Isaac and Aly; I knew I had to be careful.
"Are the other cubs still sleeping?" Peter asked me.
I suppressed a growl, I was an adult, dammit, and he kept referring to me as a cub, "Isaac and Aly are still sleeping. I wanted to talk to you, privately," I responded. Peter looked up and quirked an eyebrow at me.
"What about?" he inquired.
"The cubs, mainly Isaac, Scott, and Aly though," I answered.
Peter's POV
So, Derek wants to talk to me about the cubs, this should be interesting, I thought as a waited for my nephew to continue. When he didn't, I prompted him.
"Normally, Derek, the person who wanted to talk starts the conversation," I reminded him.
"Isaac's father abused him, Aly went missing for three years before ending up with her grandfather, and you basically abandoned Scott after you bit him," Derek said, all the words coming out rushed and together. I surveyed my nephew. He had just insinuated enough to make me fairly angry. I counted to twenty in my head to avoid hitting my nephew.
"Are you suggesting that I would abuse Isaac? Or that something happened to your cousin that makes her fragile? Or that Scott's behavior is simply the actions of a child who needs attention?" I asked. Derek stared at the ground; his clear refusal to answer me was answer enough, but I still wanted an answer. Derek was going to give me one.
"More like Isaac might not realize the difference between human abuse and werewolf discipline. That you might want to talk to Aly or her grandfather about those three years because we have no Idea what did happen to her then. Also maybe you should think about developing a sire/progeny bind with Scott," he said.
Nice save, cub, I thought but I wasn't letting my arrogant nephew off easy.
"When I want your opinion, Derek, I will ask for it. Until then you may want to hold your tongue, cub. You've been known to do foolish things but it is your tendency to speak before you think that gets you into trouble," I told him. Derek cast his green eyes at the ground.
"Why do you care so much anyway, Derek?" I asked. He looked up again, like he couldn't believe I even had to ask.
"I bit Isaac, Erica, and Boyd. I taught Scott to control his power. Aly is my little cousin. I should care about them and I do. Imagine if Uncle Nick was here, it wouldn't strike him as odd that I care about the kids I bit or his only child, or Scott, for that matter. Mom would understand it too! How could you not care? Isaac, Erica, and Boyd I get, you met them last night. What about Aly? I remember you teaching her to tie her shoes. You made Scott a wolf," he said.
"And you, I helped your parents with you too," I said.
"You aren't old enough to ne my father," he muttered, "My father's dead. He died in a fire six years ago, with my mother, my sister, Aly's parents, your sanity, and a lot of other people."
I got up, walked over to Derek, and took his chin in one hand, forcing him to look me in the eye. "I'm not insane, Derek," I said, acutely aware that just like I felt like I was looking into my brother-in-law, Andy's, eyes, Derek probably felt like he was seeing Laura's eyes.
"Then why did you kill Laura?" he asked.
Lydia's POV
I woke up and stared at my ceiling for a moment, still reeling from the events of last night. I was braiding my hair when something- or someone dark haired jumped through my window.
"God, Stiles is right about that being annoying" I said as I realized it was Aly, "Is there anything wrong with the front door?"
"Would your parents have let a teenager they've never seen before in the front door at seven in the morning on a Saturday?" she asked. She looked different than she had yesterday. Her dark hair was brushed and curly, she was clean and wearing skinny jeans, a black t-shirt, combat boots, and a caramel colored leather jacket.
"Good point," I conceded, "What are you doing here?"
"Hoping you know where to find the others, we need to discuss how to get rid of Peter," she replied.
Two hours later, we were all assembled at the old Hale house, all nine of us.
Stiles glared at the Hales (minus Peter) as he walked in, "I thought you two didn't want to help kill Peter."
Aly sighed and rolled her eyes, "No, we want the psycho who killed Laura running things and we just got you all here to try and convince you of that. Or maybe saying we want him dead within his hearing is likely going to get the holy hell beat out of us, or worse." She had a point.
"So, now that he can't hear us what are we going to do about Peter?" Isaac asked.
"You're going to explain what the hell you think you're doing," a voice from the shadows said.
As one we all turned, just in time to see Peter Hale step out of the shadows, murder written on his face.
Aly really needed to learn when to be quiet, she breathed the words, "Merde saulud, mere du deiu"
I had a split second to wonder if Peter spoke French and knew Aly's words translated to "shit, bastard, mother of god" before Stiles yelled, "Run!" and without though we all scattered, hoping the one Peter chose to follow wouldn't be us.
Not sure if I like this chapter, tell me what you think, please critique my French (Or Aly's) I know it's terrible. On the off chance this is a good chapter I'm taking suggestions on which one Peter should follow. I was thinking Derek or Scott, maybe Aly or Stiles.
