Hey y'all! What's up? I love how people just keep reviewing this story! Over thirty? That's awesome! I love you all! Then, of course is Hannah, who doesn't seem to understand that justice can't be served to Pauline if she didn't technically do anything... yet. And I must thank DScribbleF again, because he thinks that my story is good enough to add to his faves.
Anyway, enjoy this chapter! My mind is a blank state. Hopefully, it will be good anyway.
Disclaimer: ...meh.
Daisy was just sitting on the couch, reading a book, when she started shaking and crying. Her mother sat down beside her.
"Daisy? What is it?"
Daisy sniffled and looked up. "I thought it was all over."
"What do you mean? What was all over?" the queen asked, clearly confused.
"Stephanie. I thought it was all over, because she was arrested. But now her best friend is after me, and she's going to screw up my life just like Stephanie!" Daisy erupted into another fit of tears.
Daisy's mother stroked her hair. "Darling, everything will be fine. Who is this girl that seems to be bothering you?"
Daisy took in a deep breath and tried to calm down. "Pauline," she said. "Her name is Pauline."
The queen nodded. "Well, let me know if this Pauline starts acting suspicious."
"Well, she did try to talk me into leaving again. She said that if I was gone long enough they'd throw me a parade. Then when I said no, she started calling me a wimp. Just like Stephanie. But I'm not stupid enough to let words get to me... again."
The queen nodded. "Yes, good. Tell me if she does anything else."
Daisy nodded back. "Thanks, Mom." She was feeling better, but still afraid.
Daisy went to school the next day, still scared. The day went on as usual. She met Luigi, talked to him, got kissed him again, and went on with her classes. By the time lunch came, Daisy had decided that this was just a normal day, But it wasn't.
They had all finished eating, and Daisy was sitting on the table. Nobody had seen Pauline all day. But then she came in. With somebody beside her.
Everybody at the table screamed. Daisy was so shocked and terrified that she fell to the floor. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to knock her out. So she couldn't escape from this nightmare.
Stephanie walked up to her. Daisy felt the same as she did at the theater. Like she was going to cry or puke.
"Hey, Big Mouth," Stephanie said.
Don't show her that you're afraid. That voice was back again. Daisy stood up. "Hey, Criminal. How'd you get out? Did you convince the guards that it would be cool to leave and let you take over?"
Stephanie raised her eyebrows. "Actually, I'm on parole. And you know what the best part is? I can watch you break down. Luigi is totally never going to date a runaway princess."
Daisy laughed. This was too easy. "Actually, we are dating. In fact, we've kissed a few times."
Stephanie screamed. "What? I got myself arrested for nothing?" She screamed again and stomped away.
The girls started giggling. Daisy felt proud. But who's voice was this? It definitely wasn't hers. And where was this new-found courage coming from?
As soon as she got home, Daisy stomped into her father's study. "What the hell?" she screamed. The king stood up and glared at her, but she was through being scared of him. "You let her out? How could you even do that? Do you even know what she did?"
Her father sighed. "Who told you that she was out?"
"Um, she did when she walked up into my face and told me how proud she was of herself for screwing up things with me and Luigi. She was wrong, obviously, but still."
The king narrowed his eyes. "She violated the restraining order."
"Restraining order?"
He nodded. "She is not to get within a hundred feet of you. This is her warning." The king wrote a quick note, signed it, and stuffed it in an envelope. "Here. Have somebody give this to Stephanie. And once it's out of your hands, it is no longer your responsibility."
He handed Daisy the envelope. She looked at it for a minute, then put her hands on her hips. "You still haven't told me why you let her out."
The king sighed again. "A trial was held, and she was approved for parole."
"What? You held that trial without me there?"
"Daisy, you're grounded." You have no idea how tired she was of hearing that.
Daisy took in a deep breath. "Yes, Dad, I know. But I'm also the victim, remember?"
Her father nodded. "Yes, Daisy, I know. But you're still grounded and you had school. And besides, if you were there, I'm afraid there would be some violent activity."
"Fine," Daisy grumbled and stomped out of the room.
The next morning, Daisy swung under the stairs and sulked. Luigi followed her.
"What is it, Daisy?" he asked.
"Stephanie," she growled. "She's out, and my father didn't even tell me about the trial. So it was a total surprise when she sashayed into the cafeteria and got all up into my face."
Luigi's worried look dropped into a glare. "What? Stephanie? She's out? Are they crazy?"
"I don't know, but Stephanie is."
Luigi sighed. "I have to go. See ya later." Daisy started to leave, but then he surprised her by grabbing her by the shoulders, turning her around, and kissing her passionately. Then he stomped off, leaving Daisy under the stairs, trying not to faint.
Daisy stumbled into the hall and spotted Peach. "Here. Give this to Stephanie. Tell her that my dad knows she violated the retaining order." Then the two of them exchanged smirks.
"Gladly," Peach replied.
Sorry, guys. I know that this isn't one of my longest chapters, but my brain juices stopped flowing, and I didn't want it to sound forced. I'm also sorry that I used the H word. I don't usually use bad words, but I needed to show just how furious Daisy was. Just for the record, it's extremely rare when I cuss in my writing, and even more rare when I do in real life. So there, I'm an angel. ;) Review, review, review! See y'all!
