Okay, this is the last one I swear.

Epilogue:

1-earth, 3 days after the battle of metropolis.

Diana had to be quick, she wasn't exactly safe anymore, the world had betrayed her, destroyed the regime and took the man she loved from her, but there was a chance to have her love back. As she soared away from the Luthor-Wayne penitentiary for Metahumans, she held superman's body in her arms. For many hours she flew across the ocean towards Themyscira, where she could begin the regime anew. Before she could fly further, Kal's body jerked and broke free from her grasp, before straightening itself and stopping Diana in her tracks.

Kal was alive, but he was searching for Joel's heartbeat.

He heard nothing.

"Forget him Kal, he betrayed you. We don't need him to-" Diana began, but Kal cut him off. "There's no we Diana! Your manipulation cost me my son. You used me for your own benefit! I can't do this Diana, what we had is over and will never happen again." Kal firmly snapped. He had lost everything because of his romantic bond with Diana, and he wasn't repeating his mistake, for the sake of Joel's memory. "Kal, it doesn't have to be like this. Our strength brought order to the world of man." Diana pleaded. "Goodbye Diana" Clark uttered before flying away at the speed of light, leaving Diana heartbroken. At least, until it had been replaced with hatred and fury. If Kal cared about his dead family and not her, she would make him pay for abandoning her. But first, she needed to reclaim her weapons.

After flying for so many hours, Clark arrived at where he wanted to go; a small clearing on the Kent family farm. In the middle of the clearing were two gravestones

Jonathan Kent

Martha Kent

His adoptive parents, their age had finally got them. It was their request to be buried here. They had shared their first kiss in this clearing, and it felt fitting their love began and came to an end here. Kal stood there for some time. The sun was setting by the time he began to leave, but stopped when her heard sounds coming from the barn, which had survived the fire that destroyed the house years before. Peaking inside, Kal saw three children sitting around a camping stove.

The eldest of the three was a boy about twelve years of age. He had blond hair, but it was hard to see under a black beanie he wore. He also wore a torn shirt that had a green camo design. The second boy was from Egypt, at least it seemed that way. His clothing looked like he was from Ancient Egypt, wearing a blue hooded cloak over a white silk shirt as well as blue cuffed pants. He was also barefoot for some reason. Finally the youngest of them, seeming about ten, was a girl. She had black hair and wore a red vest that was too large for her, perhaps a memory of her family. Resting on the wall next to her was a sword. Its black handle was demonic in origin and the blade was just as black, but omitting a crimson aura. She seemed nervous about something, glancing at the blade as if it was speaking to her. The boys were talking about something, like planning first watch.

This made Clark open the door, only to side step a ball of lightning that flew past him. He had been spotted. "Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you" Clark said, a bit spooked. "Why are you here?" Said the Egyptian boy, electricity cooling his arms. "Also, how the hell are you alive?!" Spoke the boy in the beanie, crouching like a predator ready to pounce. "My adopted parents owned this farm". Kal said calmly "I was raised on this farm. But after I began the regime, the Government took my parents hostage to try and stop me. It took a bit of help from a few friends to save them. They stayed in the fortress of solitude for some time, until they finally died." Kal then became saddened" I wasn't there for them when they died, so I buried them in a clearing on the farm, I knew they would have wanted that." The three children lowered their guard, but the Egyptian boy kept an eye on Kal.

A half hour later, the four were sitting around the camping stove, eating fish that the girl and beanie boy had caught early that day. "We were never introduced. I'm Kain. Kain Inaros" spoke the Egyptian boy." My family and I were on vacation from Kahnduq when the joker's bomb went off." Kal just sat and listened in interest. He didn't care they were staying in his barn; he just knew they needed a home. "Names Tyler Minerva" spoke the boy in the beanie" I lived with my dad just outside of metropolis before it went boom. Ran into these two in the rubble" he continued as he gestured to Kain and the girl. "We jumped from guardian to guardian, till we just... wound up here." Kal scratched his chin; that last name Minerva, why did it sound familiar. "What's your story?" Kal asked the girl, who had been very quiet up till that point.

"Umm... My name's Lori Morgan. I come from the bloodline of Mordred, the son of King Arthur." She meekly said, before she grabbed the sword. "This blade" Lori continued "belonged to Mordred. It's been passed down through the generations. It contains a wicked soul, which cursed the blade to stops the victims it cuts from healing up to an hour. The soul still specks, if you listen." Lori hesitantly placed the sword in front of Kal, as if she was gesturing him to touch it. After a pause, Kal placed his left hand on the blade, and immediately recoiled as shadowy images flashed before his eyes; a mysterious masked figure with a cape of crow feathers, a skull with tendrils on the bottom and finally a humanoid in metal armour with four tendrils coming of his back. The final image lasted longer and was accompanied by a demonic whisper

"Brainiac"

Lori quickly grabbed the sword before Kal saw further, afraid something bad would happen. "You 'Kay big blue?" Tyler asked leaning over Kal. "I don't know what that was" Kal said as he got up. "But I think you three have had to live like this long enough. I'll get the farm house rebuilt tomorrow. The three of you don't have to keep living like this. In fact, you won't have again" Kal smiled at the three children. Sure they weren't his kid's but they needed a parent. A moment later Lori, Tyler and Kain smiled back, having found a home. Very faintly Kal heard the voice of the blade once more "Khank you, kryptonian"

Elsewhere, in kahndaq

A mysterious object of some kind had crashed on the outskirts of the great city. Black Adam, who had been pardoned for his assistance in stopping the regime, had been alerted of this and was now standing before the object, which had been brought to the royal palace. After observing the object, he and his wife Isis were uncertain of what to do, until Adam touched the side of it, causing it to open. Inside, asleep and unharmed, was a young girl, about 12 years old. She was clad in a blue and red outfit, and around her neck, was a necklace with the same symbol as superman. "Another kryptonian?" Isis asked, a bit surprised. "She must have been sent here for the same reason Kal was." Adam said, seeming to understand what is happening.

At that moment, the girl woke up with a jolt and uttered something in a strange, unknown language. She seemed very frightened. She tensed as Adam reached out his hand to her. Then she was taken aback when Teth spoke in clear kryptonian. "Don't be afraid child of el" spoke Adam in a calm fatherly tone." I am Teth-Adam. I am a friend of Kal. You are safe here on earth. What is your name?" The girl was a bit calmer now, and a bit surprised the stranger could speak her native tongue. Eventually, she took the man's hand and introduced herself

"I am Kara. Kara Zor-El"
