Chapter 18: Launching of Octopi

Nothing like spending a morning getting ready for a aerial drop into the local man made lake. This was a solo mission, no less!

"Sir!" The pilot yelled. "We're over the drop zone! Get ready to go!"

"Ready!" I told him.

The hatch of the huge Boeing C-17 opened. After having to jump once, the second time didn't seem all that bad. I took a running start and went into a free-fall.

"Electromagnetic Wave Change! On Air!" I shouted.

In an instant, I was enveloped in green light and came out into my Wave Form. I turned my free-fall into a dive and crashed into the water. Sinking, I take in my surroundings. All around it was dark. My eyes gradually adjusted and I felt like I was in an entirely different world.

"Wow..." I was awestruck.

I landed on the lake bed and took in my surroundings. Various bass and trout species swam all throughout the lake. There was an implosion.

"An implosion?!" I covered my face. "What the hell?!"

An orange octopus-like figure advanced towards me.

"Identify yourself!" I demanded.

"I am Launch Octopus!" It states. "I work for Sigma!"

"Sigma?" I ask. "You don't work for the FM-ians?"

"I do," Launch Octopus replies. "King Atlas promised to reward us Mavericks handsomely. Time to die, human!"

"WAVE BATTLE, RIDE ON!" I shout.

I pull as Battle Card. It was Impact Cannon.

"Battle Card! Impact Cannon!" I threw it into Alpha's mouth.

Alpha's head became a large Cannon. Launch Octopus began firing fish shaped missiles at me. I dodge and return fire. My attack goes right through him.

"What?!" I exclaim.

"I'm solid," Launch Octopus explained. "You aren't. I'm just keeping you busy until Chronos is finished."

"Chronos?!" I glare. "Talk, cephalopod!"

"You will see soon," He lunges.

I remember something I learned about EM Waves. I will myself to heighten my frequency. I fire Buster shots into Launch Octopus. My attacks hit and begins to explode.

"All it took was a Buster shot?" I laugh. "You're pretty pathetic."

I run to the direction of Hoover Dam where I am greeted by a large whale-looking creature.

"I am Chronos Baleen," It said. "I am under orders to destroy the dam and any puny weaklings in my way."

I go for a Battle Card and pull the Thunder Zerker Tribe transformation card. I transform and draw my blade.

"That's a large sword," He laughs. "Compensating for somethi-."

I cut him off by stabbing him in the belly.

"If you fought more than you talked, you wouldn't be dying right now," I said to him.

Chapter 19: Fun With Potato Launchers

Two days later than my shanking Chronos with a giant lightning sword, Lan and Geo invited me over to help work on a project.

"Hey, guys," I walk in.

"Hey," they reply.

Basically, they had me help with a potato launcher. It took two hours to finish. When we were done, we took it outside and out onto the track.

"Be careful, Geo," Lan warned. "You'll drop it."

"I know, Lan!" Geo was struggling under its weight.

Poor Geo tripped and dropped the potato launcher. It hit the ground and went off, shooting me in the back of the head. The potato hit me with a sickening crack. It knocked me out cold. When I came to, Lan and Geo were shaking me.

"Your potato launcher sucks..."

"Sorry," Geo said laughing weakly.
