After one million years, I've decided to update this fic. A thousand and one pay-per-views happened and it got hard to keep up with. I lost muse, which usually sucks and usually it's easy for me to get it back. However this time, it took longer. I got better, my shoulder stopped hurting and I've been on a job hunt, which is always awesome (not really). After reading a bit and finally tapping back into the idea of Maia and who she was, I decided to try this again. So I read the story, from beginning to where I left off, just as the rest of the world probably has. I opened a document and I typed out each event I wanted to adjust and discuss in this fic and my muse came back. So since I've gotten that out of the way, big shout outs go to my best friend Nicole, who watched me type out the ideas. Also, thank you to all of those who commented on this fic, which also kind of was a catalyst to bring me back. xSamiliciousx, Lipglossdnletdown, Seth rollins babe, A98Ax, 1 Crazy Brunette Goddess, embermoonlight, labrevevita, House of Wolves 12 and Guest-whoever you may be, thank you for reading this and liking it.
You know the usual.

Chapter Ten: The One With The GM and The Goat
Trips overseas makes a person realize how much they miss home. Maia missed greasy food that wasn't Nandos, stupid shopping outlets where she can buy her clothing that didn't cost a kidney—no offense to Nicole who would do that, of course—and the hotel rooms with shows she'd watch on her own time and not completely jet lagged. America is where Maia should stay. At least that's what she's decided.
It's also the reason why the second they reached American soil again, she couldn't help but sing "Proud to be An American" and practically kiss the ground. Nick thought she was over reacting. Jon thought European water made her insane. Colby just shook his head in the distance.
The WWE world had been shaken up in weeks leading up to Survivor Series. Charli lost a match in England to Paige—which Saraya and Maia totally owned and it was Maia's idea last minute for her to lose in Paige's home country since this was her first time in her home country with the WWE—Dolph had lost his Intercontinental championship to Luke Harper, who had joined forces onto Team Authority, making both the US and the Intercontinental titles being held by those in the Authority, the currently undefeated Rusev and now Luke Harper. Charli and Dolph had become a team that mirrored something like Lana and Rusev, except with baby face personas. They were unstoppable and now that Team Cena had taken shape with the Big Show, John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan stepping in to fill in the spot that Sheamus originally had until he was injured, everything seemed to even out. The Smackdown before Survivor Series, the four men who were a part of Team Cena—minus Cena and in retrospect, Charli herself—were told if they lost at Survivor Series, they were to be fired.
At the time of Survivor Series, Charli participated in a four on four Diva's match. Charli, aligned on Team Alicia with Alicia Fox, Naomi, Natalya and herself versus Team Paige, with Paige as captain, Cameron, Summer Rae and Layla. Their team won with a clean sweep, Charli with the last elimination on Paige after hitting her with her finisher Crash Course.
What the world didn't expect, were the plenty of twists and turns during the main event. Team Cena vs Team Authority. In true Charli fashion, she changed out of her clothes and accompanied Dolph to the ring. As Mark Henry became the first causality of elimination, after taking a massive knockout punch from the Big Show, things seemed it might go in Team Cena's way. With Mark Henry gone, Rusev being eliminated by count out—which Charli made sure to lovingly wave bye to Lana who had been irking her very last nerve since the match began—everything could have been great.
Then the Big Show turned on Team Cena, knocking him out and allowing Seth Rollins to get the pin, aligning himself with the Authority and getting himself eliminated by count out as well. The count was now three for Team Authority and one for Team Cena. Charli held her head in her hands, Stephanie bellowing cheers loud for the world to hear and even more so, loudly in Charli's hearing range. The tide had changed so quickly with Cena gone and now Ziggler all by his lonesome. However with the roar of the crowd, the sound of the world behind him, Dolph powered through. With a Zig Zag to Kane and a roll up on Luke Harper, Dolph eliminated the two men, leaving just him and Seth Rollins. The count was even and Charli jumped up and down in joy. This could all could either way. Dolph had Rollins beat with a Zig Zag, but just as the ref, Chad Patton, had gotten to two, almost three, Triple H pulled him out of the ring. The Authority attacked and beat up on Dolph but he fought through as Charli cheered by ringside. With a second ZigZag to Rollins, another referee had come out; at the count of two, almost three, it seemed to be deja vu with Triple H pulling the ref out again. This time Triple H grabbed hold of Dolph and pedigreed him to the mat. Charli knew this was over. As referee Scott Armstrong—the ref everyone knew was practically paid for out of the Authorities' pocket—had begun to count, the sound of a crow was heard. Lights went out, the arena went black. Charli looked around, crowd going wild until she saw him. Long black jacket, face painted in his trademark black and white. Sting had arrived. The legend had made his way to the ring, staring down Triple H as the two men stood face to face. Both Charli and Stephanie were shocked—more so Charli since Stephanie was actually somewhat knocked out on the ground—as the two men were stoic. With the blink of an eye, Sting hit Triple H with the Scorpion Death Drop, pulled Ziggler onto Rollins. One. Two. Three.
Dolph Ziggler had done something he hadn't done since 2012. He was the sole Survivor for his team, only this time, he also had the Authority fired in the process.
"Crazy night last night, huh?" Maia asked the women in the locker room. Nikki had won the Divas championship in a controversial kind of way. The match was less than thirty seconds, Brie had kissed AJ, serving as a distraction so Nikki could hit her with an elbow, followed by the Rack Attack. One would assume there was so much animosity between the Divas in the locker room, yet there was none. "Hey Brie, since you now have kissed a girl, did you like it?"
Brie rolled her eyes, throwing rolled up socks at Maia. "Shut up. Do you know Bryan called me about that last night?"
"Is it awkward knowing you now can say you and your husband made out with the same girl?"
This time, April spoke with a laugh. "That girl is right here, thank you very much."
Maia shook her head and chuckled. "What made you guys go that route? And what happens now with this Bella storyline?"
Nikki, Brie and April collectively sighed. "The Bella storyline goes poof. Bye-bye into thin air..." Nikki started, looking down at the belt before looking at her shoes she had to lace up. "It seems as if the Bellas are back in business with no kind of explanation of what happened us. At least no real explanation."
"As for why that finish, we were told what feels like last minute we were only getting like 30 seconds. So much for us being a premiere division, huh?" One could hear the annoyance in Brie's voice. "But, for one loss, we got a victory. You guys' four on four match was amazing last night! Congrats on the win, by the way."
Maia smiled. "Thanks. My heart is still racing from last night. Not only did I win at the pay-per-view I debuted, but it was an amazing match. Plus, hello, Sting came out last night!"
"No, let's talk about Mister Sole Survivor himself, Dolph Ziggler." This time, it was Victoria who spoke. "Did you know he was going to win?"
Maia shook her head no, her locks of hair flying into her face. "Nick and I really don't discuss match story lines much, mainly because it seems like it's always a last minute creative thing where they change it. We just constantly ask the other if they're still a face and hope they're not turning on each other at this point." The young woman laughed a bit as she adjusted her bra underneath her tank top. "He alluded to it, he said that he had a strong feeling Team Cena was going to win and that the win would be epic and amazing. I didn't think he meant he was the sole survivor." Maia looked over at April, who was staring intently at her with a smirk on her face. "What?"
"Your eyes light up when you talk about Nick. I don't know if you know that, but you know me, I notice everything." April bit her bottom lip. Maia just looked down at her feet. "Don't try and hide it now."
Maia shook her head. "I hear Bryan's here." Her eyes moved slowly over to Brie, who seemed to light up like a Christmas tree. "Excited?"
"I'm super exited, he's so happy to be here. He can't wait to get into the ring." Maia always loved how Brie and Bryan on the outside based on first appearances, seemed to be two totally different worlds but when you knew them, they worked perfectly together. They were Maia's favorite happy little hippy couple. "I think he's going to be cleared in about two weeks or so, he's going to see the doctor one more time and do some more rehabbing before getting the okay."
A knock at the locker room door was heard, making all the Divas stop in their place. Maia looked over at the women before looking at the door and slowly opening it. There stood Stephanie McMahon, in a sleek black dress, hair pulled back into an immaculate ponytail and makeup so minimally there, it made the perfect impact on her eyes. "It always seems when I'm looking for you, I find you right away."
"Stephanie. To what do I owe the pleasure?" The young diva would be lying if she said she wasn't terrified. She's always terrified when encountering the older woman, not because Maia was terrified she was being fired, but because she just didn't know what to expect. Was she being praised? Did she curse when she shouldn't have and now she's being fined? Did she do something disrespectful?
Stephanie looked down at her feet with a smile. "I was hoping Paul and I could have a word with you in our office. We'd like to discuss something with you and it's a bit of a private matter."
With a nod, Maia signaled she wanted to grab a jacket. Looking at the women in the locker room, she huffed. "If I get fired, tell Jonathan Good I said we had a good run as somewhat friends and I'll miss him." Walking alongside Stephanie, Maia watched her fingertips. It felt a lot less like pressure when she was walking along with the boss when she wasn't focused on her own rapid heartbeat. Upon entering the room with Steph, Maia's eyes caught Paul's which were tired yet somewhat still happy. Sitting down across from the two key players of the onscreen faction, The Authority, the young woman sighed. "Not going to lie, I'm terrified of what I'm here for."
"Why are you always terrified?" Paul asked with a smile.
"Because this is the most I've been asked to see you guys in the two years I've been in this company. It's making me think I did something completely and utterly wrong and that I'm about to pay the price." The words came out faster than she'd like them to, but after they were spoken, all she could see were smiles and hear faint laughter from Stephanie and Paul. "I'm not in trouble?"
Paul shook his head no. "Not in the least bit. As you know, Nick was written to win the Survivor Series traditional match on his own thanks to Sting. We're planning a bit of a push for him and well, this involves some storyline changes for the both of you. We've spoken to Nick about it and he's fine with it, so now we're talking to you."
"We're thinking Dolph and Charli should go from just friends to maybe an on-screen relationship. You and Nick definitely have the chemistry for it and based off the past few weeks with you two, I'm thinking this could work well. It'd be a trial run, there are some other ideas floating around that we may toy with that involve Charli and they're being discussed..." Stephanie spoke. "This may not seem like a huge deal for you, going into an on-screen relationship but this could be what your character needs, the proper on screen push that will just propel her into new heights. All we're here to ask is, do you accept the idea?"
Maia chewed on her bottom lip for a second before sighing. "I'm in. I've got nothing to lose, really. Plus I trust Nick. So how do we start the relationship?"
"It'll start at the TLC pay-per-view in Cleveland." Maia smirked and looked down at her hands before Paul continued his statement. "Yeah, Nick's home town."
The young diva sighed. "If we're going to start with a bang, might as well do it in a town that loves him, right?" she joked. "I'm in. I'm guessing subtle hints that we're into each other or something of that nature until the pay-per-view?"
"Exactly. As we said, all this could change, but for now, we're going to keep this slow and steady." Stephanie always had this air about her, one that made you believe everything was going to be okay—of course it was only seen off screen, but it was always welcomed with Maia. "Are you ready?"
Maia nodded. "As I'll ever be. Thank you for the opportunity."
"On screen relationship? That's a big move, kiddo." Jon never really was one to show enthusiasm for some of the things Maia did. "Nick?"
"Yeah. Is it weird I'm kind of terrified?" Maia asked, looking up at Jon through her eyelashes. "Storyline relationships can go either way—like they could end up actually dating or they can just hate each other. Like, look at April and Nick. They dated for a moment and then she went and married Phil."
Jon rolled his eyes. "Do you harbor feelings for him?"
"Nick?" the young woman asked, squinting her eyes.
"No, Phil. I mean, you sound so torn up about him being married to the pint sized Diva."
Maia sighed and closed her eyes, not out of sadness or pain, but to calm herself down. "I feel like this is the millionth time we've had this discussion, Jon. What he and I had, it was fun. It wasn't real. What he and April have, it's weird and it's awesome and it's real. So no, I don't harbor feelings for anyone. I'm just saying, what if this leads to us hating each other or—or actually dating?"
"And that's terrifying because...?" Jon asked. His eyes of blue met the younger woman's eyes and he just sighed. "You need to bring down those walls, Maia. You'll never know who's great for you until you do."
Maia scoffed. "Right, because you're the fucking perfect poster child for that, right?" There was a silence that lingered over the two; blazing gazes of fire and anger before Maia shook her head and lowered it. The feeling of remorse washing over her. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that, okay? I'm just fuckin' terrified that something could happen."
Jon sighed, his hands running one over the other. "Yeah, don't worry about it. We're both pretty fucked, I'm aware of it. Shit happens." Silence again. "But besides April and Nick, think about the good things that come from story lines. Adam and Amy."
"Both aren't together, he's with Beth now and has a kid."
"You said it yourself—April and Phil." Jon needed her to not be scared of anything. "You're also forgetting about the positives, like Steph and Paul. Hell, Brie and Bryan could be something you could remember. Take a chance, hell, who says you're going to fall in love with the kid? It's just on screen."
Maia chewed on her lip. "You're right. It's just scary. After all, this could be a big break for me back into the division as a main contender."
"Now you're thinking like a wrestler." Jon chuckles. Truth be told, he thought this was the change she needed, to challenge herself and grow. Maybe in the end, she'd stop being so scared about life and about things that happened to her. "So when does it happen?"
"TLC. So I have about three or four weeks as a free woman on screen. If Dean Ambrose has any hidden feelings for Charli, now would be the time to speak before she's spoken for, my friend." Maia couldn't help but laugh at her comment, which lead to Jon throwing a piece of paper he had found at the young woman. "I'm joking!"
"You can't handle me at my Jon Moxley, you don't deserve my Dean Ambrose."
Maia's jaw dropped. "Now hold on, Charli can't handle you at your Jon Moxley, she probably wouldn't stand you at your normal Jonathan Good, but she could totally take on Dean Ambrose. Me as Maia on the other hand, I'll stick with tolerating Jon Good."
"You're an asshole."
"I learned from the best, Good." Maia joked, standing and stretching. "I have matches to prepare for, I need to go. Get off your ass."
Maia stood in her ring gear, smiling at the screen and leaning on Brie's shoulder as she watched Bryan in the ring. The younger woman held onto Brie's hand, Brie with a smile plastered onto her face. "You look so happy looking at Bryan."
"That's what happens when you're in love, Maia. When I'm on the road, I don't get to see him much. So when I do see him, it's like that first glance butterflies. The ones you get when you have a crush on someone in school and they look your way and they know your name for the first time."
Looking down at her feet, Maia had never exactly felt like that before, it was short lived when she was with Phil so she never exactly felt those emotions. Maia's eyes met Steph and Paul's as they arrived from behind the curtain, smirking over at the ladies watching the scene over by Gorilla position. The two elders, their bosses, would be off screen for a few weeks and working diligently at the behind-the-scenes work. Paul would be spending his time with NXT, Steph in creative. Everyone could hear the crowd chanting in Indianapolis, the sounds of "YES!" erupting through the arena. Maia heard a faint voice behind her, catching her attention.
Turning around she saw the usual gear, black on black with gold colored accents, briefcase in hand and his hair dripping with water. Her eyes landed on everyone else around him, from Glenn Jacobs—who the world knew as Kane—as well as both Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury, Luke Harper—or now another Jon who wandered around the backstage area, Mark Henry, CJ Perry—who everyone knew as Lana and Rusev—or Alexander as Maia called him. There was a small hint of terror, mainly because she didn't know who she was seeing. Brie felt the younger woman stiffen.
"You okay?" Brie whispered. Maia just sighed. Mark and Glenn smiled brightly at the young girl, they had always taken some small taking to the young girl. Joey Mercury liked Maia, he was the one who called her up at the same time as the Shield boys. CJ and Maia had spoken a few times, they were decent with each other but their time was always a bit short lived. The most time they spent near each other was this Survivor Series with Rusev on Team Authority. Her eyes met Colby's, the second their eyes met, he smirked, eyes normal shade of brown she associated with Colby and not the darker shade she associated with Seth Rollins, his on-screen persona.
"Hey." Colby spoke, looking down at his shoes and rolling his shoulders.
Maia smirked. "Hey. Good to see you."
"Yeah. You too. I hadn't seen you much since the European tour." His head turned just slightly, hair covering his face like a curtain yet she could still see the distinct features he had. Maia could still see the shape of his distinct nose, the shape and shade of his current facial hair. Most importantly, she could still see his eyes. "You doing okay?"
"Yeah..." Maia started with a nod, her hand still clasped into Brie's. "No more sickness. I'm actually on the card tonight so, that's a good thing right?"
Colby smiled. "Yeah, it is." Silence fell over the both of them before he broke away from his stance and moved over slightly to Maia. Maia found herself moving forward herself, her hand still in Brie's but her body away from the twin. "Look, I know we've been distant. With Survivor Series and the fact that you probably don't trust me as far as you could probably throw me-"
"Colby..." Maia spoke softly before Colby shook his head. All he wanted to do was talk.
"No. I get it, and it's okay. I was just hoping somehow, we can at least try and work on being friends. I have a lot to prove to you. You know, that I'm not so much of a wild card as the rest of the world sees me." There was a small plead in his voice. Maia just smirked.
She placed a hand on his upper arm, feeling the definition in his muscles underneath her fingertips. "I never thanked you for the hoodie in my bag that day I was sick..." she spoke with a small yet friendly smile. Colby just smiled himself before looking over at the screen, knowing his cue with the rest of the team was coming. "You should tap into Seth, you're about to go on."
"I know. But hey, the offer still stands to hang out one day." Colby smirked and backed away, back over toward the entrance he knew he'd have to walk through in less than one minute. "And you're welcome for the hoodie."
The two nodded and turned away from each other, Maia's eyes landing back onto the screen, her head resting back on Brie's shoulder—which she hadn't noticed Nikki had come along and noticed the whole encounter with Maia and Colby. Colby shook his head and began to bounce up and down, tapping into his Seth character.
"What just happened?" Nikki asked, holding onto the Divas title belt. Maia looked down at the belt with bright eyes, which Nikki then laughed and let her touch the belt with a laugh. "You're a nerd. But no, what just happened?"
"Happened with what?" Maia asked just as Seth Rollins' music hit. The young woman looked over at Colby, watching as his posture and demeanor changed in front of her very eyes and watched him walk out from behind the curtain. Turning back to the twin sisters, she shook her head. "I think I just witnessed Colby become Seth."
Nikki sighed. "We'll talk about that later. What did Stephanie and Paul want?" Before Maia could answer, she heard Bryan's voice address Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins.
The crowd began to boo, Seth's face contorted in disgust. "Now Seth, you're—you're used to competing in handicap matches..." Daniel Bryan spoke into the microphone. "it seems like the Authority was putting you in situations where you were wrestling guys three on two, four on two, all the time. So why should tonight be any different? Tonight, I am going to team you up with two other WWE superstars to wrestle the team of John Cena..." Daniel started, small cheers heard with a mix of boos. "and the man who single handedly defeated the Authority last night and changed the course of WWE history, Dolph Ziggler." The crowd erupted into cheers for Dolph.
"Now I know tha Cena and Dolph, they're always up for a challenge and like I said, it's going to be just what you're used to. A three-on-two handicap match...what? Are you, are you trying to say something?" Daniel asked.
"Yes I am" Seth replied. "First of all—what, are you in control of the microphones here tonight too, huh?"
Daniel smirked. "Uh. Yes."
"Looks like you'll be pulling double duty tonight" Brie added with a small smile. "A match tonight and you have to go out with Dolph, you'll be exhausted."
Nikki nodded. "But now that you heard what happened, what happened with Stephanie?" There she goes, pestering again. Again, before Maia could speak, she felt an arm wrap around her shoulder. "Nick, hey. Good, you're here. Help me get whatever she had to see Stephanie and Paul about, out of her."
Nick stood there, chewing on gum with a smile on his face. "Yeah, what was the meeting about?"
"You know what it was about..." Maia teased before sighing and looking over at Nikki and Brie, her body leaning mor toward Nick at the moment. "Say hello to WWE's newest couple. Well, not officially at least. It won't be official until TLC, or so I've been told."
"Isn't TLC in Cleveland?" Brie asked. Maia and Nick just nodded. "Oh they timed that perfectly, imagine the pop you guys would get."
"Wouldn't be surprised if that's why they want it to happen then." Nick and Maia laughed a bit, looking at each other before Brie tugged onto Maia's arm. Brie, Nikki, Nick and Maia turned their attention to the screen, watching the events continue to unfold.
"...and the third team that you could possibly team up with..oh, if you cuould just, move to the side a little bit." Daniel started, moving his hand toward his left. Seth just stared up at Daniel, mouth slightly agape. "...just, step aside."
"What are you talking about? You think this is a game? I mean, right or left?" Seth asked.
Daniel just chuckled for a second. "Well it would be your right, it would be my left but if you could just move a little bit..." Seth moved to the side, the crowd cheering at the realization. "Team C to be Seth Rollins tag team partners, would be Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury! And voting starts right now!"
Maia couldn't help but laugh. "Oh Bryan is good. Scripted or not, he's good."
"Seth Rollins is so screwed, we all know who the universe would vote for" Brie laughed.
"Quick, someone give me their phone with the app on it, I left mine with Jon. I need to vote." Maia added, looking around for a phone. "I need to see Jamie and Joey in action, if I'm ringside, I have to see this happen. Let me live." As she laughed, she heard the faint sound of footsteps. Eyes of brown met hers, then slid over to Nick who still had his arm draped over her shoulder. Those eyes of brown, the ones that belonged to Colby, darkened. Maia stiffened and just looked back at Colby—or Seth since his eyes had become that shade only she had known to be Seth's—and then over at Nick. There everyone stood, looking at the tension grow thicker by the minute. Mr. Money in the Bank sulked away, his eyes landing on Nick before landing harshly on Maia's. Shaking off the tension, Maia grabbed Nick's phone and voted on the app. "I'll see J&J out there. I have a match to prepare for."
Charli went one-on-one against Paige. The match was even and well fought, the women locking up and very technical from the start. Superkicks followed by clothelines, suplexes and slams, submission holds and chanting for the two divas bouncing off the walls of the arena. The two were layed out for a count of eight before both rose to their feet by nine. Two Paige turners, a rampaige, two crash courses and her own version of what looked like a Zig Zag, Charli had won the match. Dolph Ziggler stood at the top of the ramp, clapping in support for his friend.
"Where do you get off doing a Zig Zag?" Dolph asked Charli as she stood outside of the Divas locker room. "That's totally mine."
Charli laughed. "When opportunity knocks, you take it. Paige had her back turned and it was either a backstabber or a Zig Zag. I feel like that would have worked better. And, it did. Plus, I happen to think I looked amazing doing it, thank you." Charli proceeded to lean against the wall of the hall, smirking and looking up at Dolph as she crossed her arms. "Don't you think?"
Dolph moved closer, very little space left between he and Charli as he leaned down. "I think you looked insanely hot doing my move. But let's leave that to me, you know, the showing off."
"Jerk..." Charli laughed. "So, sole survivor, what's it like to have the Authority out of power just like you wanted?"
Dolph laughed and looked down at Charli. "I don't have all the girls if I signed on with the Authority, so that's pretty much a bummer..." he started before rubbing his chin, looking at Charli with his blue eyes. "but I've got one and she's pretty cool, plus no Authority and she's still here. I think it's a damn good trade." Charli and Dolph continued to stare at each other, eyes just watching each other and not moving before Dolph slowly backed away with a smile. "Coming with me ringside?"
"I wouldn't miss you and John versus Seth and J & J security" Charli laughed.
Dolph squinted. "Why would it be them?"
"Because I voted for them. I'm also sure everyone in the world except the Authority themselves voted for that too." Charli responded, laughing again. "I need to shower, get out of these clothes. I'll see you later." The young woman began to grab the handle to the locker room door before turning around and placing a soft kiss against Dolph's cheek. "I'm glad you stuck with Team Cena. And that one girl you have that thinks you're pretty cool? She thinks you're pretty cool too."
As Seth Rollins' music hit, finding himself approaching the ring without partners, his eyes landed on the woman to his left who was currently sitting on the steel steps, smug smirk on her face since she knew the Authority was gone. The eyes of dark brown, ones Charli knew belonged to none other than Seth Rollins met her own before slightly rolling and looking at the three men in the ring.
"And now, to see who the WWE Universe has chosen as Seth Rollins' tag team partners..." There was a drum roll sound, which Charli banged her hand on the steel steps to emulate the sound a bit more. The seconds ticked on before with a whopping 93%, J & J Security had been chosen as his partners. Charli laughed loudly and looked over at the crowd.
"I voted for them!" Charli announced to the crowd and to John and Dolph before watching as J & J Security had come down the ramp. Seth, clearly pissed. "I voted for you guys, you're welcome! Have a great match out there!" Charli laughed as she watched the two men shed their suit jackets. Seth just glared at her. The three men moved around the ring as the crowd did their usual 'Let's Go Cena!' 'Cena Sucks!' chant. Chari glanced up at Dolph as he stood on the apron and looked down at Charli.
"Think we've got this?" he asked the younger Diva, both laughing as Jamie Noble enteredthe ring and Seth began yelling about him having to take his tie off.
With a nod, Charli sighed. "You guys so got this."
With John hitting the AA on Joey Mercury, Seth scurrying away and Dolph landing a serious superkick which lead into a Zig Zag on Jamie Noble, both men covered the members of J & J Security, getting the three count. John, Dolph and Charli all called for Seth to come back to the ring and fight like a man, yet he didn't until Daniel Bryan came from behind and threw him back into the ring. Walking right into a superkick from Dolph and the AA from John, Seth got what was coming to him.
Daniel Bryan's music hit, Charli entered the ring. First she hugged John, who laughed and picked her up. Charli just laughed. Her attention then turned to Daniel, which followed by her running into his arms and mumbling that she missed him. Finally it lead her to Dolph, which she didn't run to, but wrapped her arms around his neck, his hands around her waist and pulling her flush against him and inhaling her scent. He picked her up, same way Cena had done but much slower and held on tighter. Charli found herself being put back down, joining in on the 'YES!' chant before that god awful sound was heard.
Lights flashing, noise blaring, everyone sighed. Charli rolled her eyes. "Oh damn it."
"Can I have your attention please...?" Michael Cole started. "I've just received an e-mail from the anonymous Raw General Manager." Charli found herself leaning against Dolph's shoulder and arm, obviously annoyed. "And I quote..." Michael continued. "Forgive me for interrupting this joyous occasion, this party is officially over. Next Monday. Cyber Monday. Order and displine returns to Monday Night Raw..."
The blinking and alert sound began to fill the arena. Jeers and groans heard throughout the arena as Charli covered her ears and sat down in the ring. So much for the good guys.
"Talent is not sexually transmitted—are you fucking serious, April?" Maia asked, smirk on her face as she looked over at her small diva companion.
April smirked, Brie just shook her head. "Okay first of all, they approved that statement. Secondly, I'm like 98% sure Nikki and Brie both know I didn't mean it."
"98%?" Nikki asked, finally slipping into her red bottom shoes. "What happened to the other 2%?"
"That last two percent is me thinking you guys are probably mad but not as mad because I said it and not someone else. We all know I'm kind of the best at serving 'harsh reality' at times." April responded, air quoting the words harsh reality with her fingers.
Maia looked down at her hands. "Remind me to keep you away from me with harsh reality, okay?"
"Oh like how you're into Nick but you don't see it yet and you should totally man up and do something about it? Gotcha." April smiled and looked down into her bag, looking for a different shirt to put on. Maia scoffed. "Don't you scoff at me, Carson."
"You're mean to me, I hope you step on a fucking Lego..." Maia mubled before Brie stood and tilted her head.
"I don't know, you might be off the mark, April. Colby was getting kind of close earlier."
"Did you decide you like girls after the kiss, Brianna?" Maia defended. "Nothing is going on with me or anyone on the roster. I'd like to keep it that way."
April and Nikki looked at each other, silently nodding. "Yeah, but what if the opportunity knocks at something real, huh? You're just gonna shut the door? Maia, that's no way to live..." Nikki started. "I'm kind of the poster child for it. John doesn't want to get married again, he doesn't want to have kids. I could close the door on him because I want those things but I won't. Because maybe one day he'll change his mind—but most importantly, it's because I love him and I wouldn't know that unless I opened the damn door. Try and do the same thing."
Maia plopped down on the bench, sighing with her head in her hands. "That's the scary part."
"It's supposed to be."
"Shut up, you sound like Cena..." Maia chuckled before grabbing her bag. "Will I see you ladies at Smackdown?" Nikki raised her hand to signal her and Brie would be there. "Good. Have a nice night ladies."
Maia grabbed her bag and walked out of the locker room, went straight for her rental car and sighed as she gripped the wheel. Were they all right? What harm can come from letting someone in? The biggest question blared behind her eyelids in white while closed and in alarming red while open.
Just who exactly is worth letting in, Nick or Colby?
I feel like because I made you guys wait, I shouldn't put a limit on how many reviews I get before the next one. I will say, I'd like more than just one. That would be awesome. Here are a few songs I listened to while writing this chapter:
St. Patrick - Pvris
Nothing to Lose – Empire Cast
You're Gonna Go Far Kid – The Offspring
