Hey guys, I'm back and I am so asorry about the wait on this chapter, but it is jam packed with action this one, so hopefully it makes up for it :)
As for the reviews, they are amazing! I honestly didn't expect to get that many reviews for the last chapter, so see if you can do it again for me ;)
*WARNING* you may need a box of tissues for this chapter. It's a little bit heart breaking.
So don't forget to review at the end :)
*Previously*
"Well, where will we go? What are we going to do?"
Dimitri looked me dead in the eyes as he answered me. The love and the trust and the passion that he was emitting for me was almost smothering me, and I knew that I trusted him completely and that I would do whatever he needed me to do, if it allowed us to be together.
"We're going to run away together."
RPOV
"What?"
Dimitri turned to me. "Well what else can we do? Everyone knows the truth now, and so they will be coming for me, and will be expelling you. And I promised that I wouldn't let anything happen to you, and that I would always be with you, so that is what I am going to do."
I just looked at him completely stunned. I had never thought of Dimitri as one for taking the easy way out of situations, but when I thought about it, this wasn't a easily situation. He can be fired and I can be expelled, and now that everyone knows that I conceived with a dhampir, everyone will want to know how, and I shuddered at the thought of people running numerous tests off me.
I nodded as Dimitri pulled me down the hall and we stopped off at his room first. Dimitri grabbed a backpack from under his bed and started putting a few clothes, his wallet and a spare stake in the bag and pushed his phone in his duster pocket and then he spun around and grabbed my hand again hauling me out the room and taking me to mine.
Once we reached there, I quickly unlocked the door and Dimitri went in a head of me. As he started to throw things in my duffel bag he turned to speak to me.
"Go grab anything out of the bathroom you need."
Not arguing with him I ran into the bathroom and grabbed my brush and toothbrush and paste and ran back into my room. I didn't bother to get my makeup or hair straightener because it wasn't a necessity.
Handing them to him he stuffed them in my bag and then hastily zipped it up before slinging it over his shoulder with his bag.
"I can take my bag Comrade," I said as he once again took my hand and began leading me out my room and down the hall.
"I know you can, but I don't want to cause you extra stress."
"Carrying a bag doesn't create stress Comrade," I teased.
Dimitri smiled. "But it causes extra weight."
I mocked hurt. "Are you saying I'm weak?"
Dimitri paused slightly to turn to look at me.
"You are anything but weak Roza. You are so, so strong. It's one of the many reasons why I love you."
His words killed the playfulness in me and made me melt instead and I couldn't help but wrap my arms around his neck and bring him down for a kiss.
After a few seconds we broke apart and continued down the hall but before we could get far I felt a hand wrap around my arm and jerk me backwards.
I cried out in surprise and Dimitri immediately halted and his eyes grew wide when he looked at me.
I looked behind me to see that Stan had both of my arms behind my back in a death grip. To get out of his hold, I would have to break my arms . . .
"Let her go Stan," Dimitri demanded stepping forward.
"I can't do that Belikov, I was ordered to grab Rosemarie and take her to Kirova."
Dimitri gritted his teeth and I could feel the anger radiating off of him. "If you don't let her go right now I will be forced to hurt you."
Stan smirked. "Well, you're a bit outnumbered there Belikov."
Dimitri didn't turn to look behind him but I knew that he could feel the four guardians stepping up behind him and closing in around him. I gasped when I saw that one of them was Alberta and she looked at me with sorrowful eyes, telling that she didn't wish that this had to happen.
"It's guardian Belikov to you," Dimitri spat in Stan's direction.
Stan's smirk widened into a gleeful smile. "Not anymore it's not. Not after your disgraceful act of having an affair with a student. Your student for that matter."
Dimitri glared. "It isn't an affair."
Stan mocked surprise. "Oh? If it isn't, then what would you call it? Especially that you look as if you were going to run off with her."
"I love her!" Dimitri yelled.
Stan looked taken back. "How could you love her? She's a bloodwhore in the making."
I opened my mouth to say something at the same time Dimitri did, but to my shock it wasn't either of us that spoke.
It was Alberta.
"Stan, that is enough! We were just ordered to get Rose and to take her to the Headmistress."
"And to take Dimitri to the cells."
Alberta's face soured at the same time I spun my head around to look at Stan.
"What?!"
"He has committed a crime Rosemarie, and therefore must be punished for that. It's a shame really."
But the look on Stan's face showed anything but regret for Dimitri's fate.
"No! You can't!" I yelled as Stan started to take me down the hall. I began to kick.
"No! I won't go! I'm not leaving Dimitri!" I screamed as Stan decided it would just be easier to carry me rather than being kicked in the shins.
In the brief moment when Stan broke his hold on my arms I went to run forward towards Dimitri and I could see him reaching out for me. But before I could actually get to Dimitri, Stan had swept me into his arms.
"You be careful with her! She's pregnant you arsehole!" Dimitri yelled as two guardians grabbed his arms and Alberta stepped in front of him.
"Not for much longer she won't be." Stan muttered under his breath but I heard him.
"What the hell does that mean?!" I demanded.
Stan just looked at me and smirked and I felt a cold feeling of dread creep over me. And suddenly I was scared. Very scared.
"Dimitri!" I screamed.
I saw Dimitri stop fighting the other guardians for a moment to look over at me and I watched as his eyes widened when he saw the fear in my eyes.
"Roza!"
Dimitri then renewed his efforts in trying to get to me, but we both knew that his efforts were futile.
As Stan carried me down the corridor and out of sight of Dimitri my heart fluttered with nervousness. What was going to happen? What was going to happen to Dimitri? I wasn't really concerned for myself; I was worried about Dimitri who I could still hear yelling from down the hall.
As we walked up towards Kirova's office Stan reached out to knock on the door and I took that as my chance.
I pulled my leg back and quickly kicked out with speed I didn't know I possessed and kicked him straight in the nuts.
Stan dropped me and howled out with pain as his hands cupped his jewel spot. I quickly stood up and went to run but like lightning Stan was gripping my arms – rather painfully – and hauled me into the demon's office.
Kirova was standing beside the door and she scowled when I was brought in.
"Ah, Rosemarie, about time you got here." She snapped and closed the door behind us.
Stan let go of me and forced me into the seat opposite Kirova and when I tried to stand up Stan's hand came down on my shoulder and forced me to stay seated.
"Now, Miss Hathaway, I wanted to talk to you before Guardian Alto here escorts you to the infirmary."
"Why do I need to go to the infirmary? I'm not sick," I said crossing my arms over my chest.
"We'll get to that later, now, I wanted to talk to you about Belikov."
I grew defensive. "What about Dimitri?"
"Did he force himself onto you? Did he make any unwanted advances towards you or pressure you into anything?" she asked.
I looked at her with a horrified expression. "Of course he didn't! The feelings were mutual."
Kirova's face seemed to soften. "Rose, you can't honestly believe that he had feelings for you. He was just using you, and for that his punishment with be just."
I shot from the chair only to be forced back into it by Stan, so instead I leaned forward and glared at Kirova. "He did love me! I know he did! If he didn't, he wouldn't have come back from the airport for me when I told him I was pregnant!"
"Was this when he was going to be Tasha Ozera's guardian?" Kirova asked.
I nodded my head.
"Ah yes, it was rather stupid of him to not take her offer. Look at the trouble that he has gotten himself into now."
"He didn't get himself into any trouble! It was all you guys fault and Lissa's!"
"So Lissa was involved in this?"
I soured. "Well yes, I told her about mine and Dimitri's relationship and that we were having a baby, so she helped me in getting Dimitri to come back to me. Now she is just a self-righteous bitch."
"You shouldn't call a royal that." Kirova chastised me.
"Well she is," I muttered.
"Now onto the matter of your baby."
I frowned and wrapped my arms around my stomach. "What do you mean?"
"Who's the father Rose?"
"What do you mean who is the father?"
Kirova sighed impatiently. "Who was it with? Is the father Ivashkov?"
I tried to hide my disgust. "No! It was with Dimitri!"
"Then how was the baby conceived Rose? Two dhampirs cannot conceive a child together, it is genetically impossible."
"Well I did! I've been known to do the impossible. My theory is it happened because I am shadow-kissed."
Kirova studied me for a few seconds before she blew out her breath and sighed.
"Fine, I believe you, only because it matches the other stories that I have heard of how you got pregnant, and for this reason you will have to undergo some tests."
I began to panic. "Tests? What tests?"
"Tests to see how it happened."
I stood up from my seat but this time Stan didn't push me back down. "No! No I refuse to have any tests done on me. I will not become a lab rat to you!"
"Rosemarie, it is for your own benefits."
"No! It is to quench your own curiosity! Well guess what? I'm not doing it! You'll have to force it on to me."
"That is what we were going to do," Kirova said just as Stan grabbed me again.
"Stop! You can't do this! It's illegal!"
"So is sleeping with, and having a relationship with your mentor." Kirova fired back.
With that Stan gathered me in his arms again and began walking towards the infirmary. With each step that we got closer to the infirmary my breathing grew more and more rapid with each breath.
When we finally got there and walked through the doors Dr Olendzki was already there waiting for us.
Dr Olendzki showed Stan through to a room where he then put me down on the bed and two nurses came in and immediately started taking my clothes off to put a hospital gown on me.
"What are you doing?" I asked as one of the nurses started to hook me up to an IV.
"Just following procedure."
I nodded and waited nervously for Dr Olendzki to come in. When she did I began to bombard her with questions.
"What's going on? Can I leave?"
"unfortunately you can't leave yet, we have to do a few tests and then perform the surgery."
I paled. "Surgery for what?"
Dr Olendzki frowned. "Didn't they tell you?"
I slowly shook my head.
Dr Olendzki now looked distressed and regretful. "I'm so sorry Rose."
I frowned as my heart rate picked up. "What's wrong?"
"They have ordered for me to perform an abortion procedure on you."
My eyes grew wide. "WHAT!"
Dr Olendzki just looked at me and just nodded as if to confirm what she told me.
"No! No way! You can't do that without my consent! It's illegal!"
"I know, but Kirova has ordered me to and if I don't do it I will lose my job, and I can't afford to," she said and then after a second she did something that startled me. She hugged me.
"I'm so sorry Rose," she whispered.
I sniffled and it was then that I realised that I was crying. "It's ok, I don't blame you. I blame them." I said while saying 'them' with such hatred.
"Can I do anything for you Rose? I feel like if I do you a small favour that it will make this situation better." Dr Olendzki asked.
I knew better than to ask for Dimitri. My poor Comrade was probably locked up in a cell by now.
"Would you be able to get Adrian, Eddie and Christian for me please?"
Dr Olendzki smiled and nodded. "Of course."
I watched as she left and another nurse came in carrying what looked like a needle. I eyed her warily.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I have to do a blood test. Just stay still will you?" She asked rather rudely.
Severally time she missed my veins which made me wince each time, and each time I did the girl would smirk which made me think that she was doing it on purpose. Bitch.
Finally she got the blood she needed and as she walked out another nurse walked in.
"What do you want?" I snapped. I had now lost all of my patients.
She held out a plastic cup towards me and nodded towards the bathroom. "I need to do a urine test."
I made a face and looked at the IV beside me. "I kind of can't move if you hadn't noticed."
"Oh," she said and came over to detach all the equipment. Once I was free she handed me the cup.
Sighing I went in and peed in the cup and then handed it back to her.
"Thank you," she said taking the cup and then redoing the IV and then walked out. I was just lying there with my hands wrapped around my stomach. Beneath my hands I could feel the small and subtle bump under the hospital gown.
"They won't hurt you," I whispered to my stomach. "Not if I can do anything about it."
After another half an hour the door to my room opened again but this time it was Dr Olendzki.
"Rose, your friends are here." She said.
I smiled. "Send them in please."
She nodded and walked back out and seconds later, Eddie, Christian and Adrian came barging into the room.
"Rose!" Eddie cried when he saw me and immediately engulfed me in a hug.
"What happened?" Christian asked worried evident in his eyes.
I still couldn't work out why Christian was still acting like the big brother he is to me but Lissa . . . she was a complete bitch to me at the moment.
"Well, thanks to your girlfriend, Dimitri is in a cell in the dungeons, and here I am about to get an abortion forced on me." I spat.
They all looked at me surprised before they all wore expressions of fury.
"They are what?!" Eddie Bellowed.
A tear fell down my cheek and made a wet path down my face. "They are going to force me to get rid of my baby and then they are going to expel me and then fire Dimitri and send him to jail."
"Lissa did that?" Christian asked in shock.
I nodded as a few more tears fell. "Why would she do that?!" I sobbed.
Immediately Adrian sat on the bed and wrapped his arms around me and ran his hands through my hair. It wasn't like when Dimitri did it, but it was soothing all the same.
"It's ok Little Dhampir, we are here and I'm sure this will all blow over."
We all just looked at him.
"Ok, so maybe it won't all just blow over but we have to stay positive." He said.
I leaned into Adrian and continued to cry.
"Little Dhampir . . . Please don't cry, I hate seeing you cry. What can we do for you? What will make you feel better?"
"I want Dimitri! I need him! He doesn't know that they are forcing me to have an abortion!" I cried.
"What? He doesn't?" Eddie asked.
I shook my head. "I didn't know until I was in here."
"Ok, Adrian and I will go," Christian offered.
"What? I'm not leaving her." Adrian growled.
Christian sighed in annoyance. "I might need you to persuade them to let him out." He said giving Adrian meaningful looks.
Adrian caught on to what he was saying. "Oh right," he said and then turned to me and kissed my forehead. "I will be back Little Dhampir."
I nodded and laid back against the pillows as I watched them leave.
Eddie grabbed the chair and pulled it over so it was by my bedside and he looked at me.
"I can't believe that this has blown up so bad. If nobody had found out until graduation then it would have been ok," he said.
I nodded. "I know," I sighed.
We were silent for several moments not saying anything but every now and then Eddie would squeeze my hand comfortingly or smooth my hair back from my face which made me smile at him. He was so protective of me that it was cute at times.
Suddenly the two nurses came in along with Dr Olendzki and a guardian. I frowned at the guardian.
"What's going on?" Eddie asked getting up to stand in front of me.
"It's time to do the procedure Rose," Dr Olendzki told me.
I panicked. "No! No! It's not going to happen!"
Dr Olendzki looked grim. "It has to be done Rose."
"She said no," Eddie said crossing his arms over his chest.
Dr Olendzki sighed and looked back at the guardian who was already walking forward.
"I suggest you remove yourself before I remove you by force," he said to Eddie.
Eddie held his ground. "I'm not going to let you hurt my sister."
My heart swelled at those words.
"Eddie, don't make an unnecessary scene." Dr Olendzki snapped at him.
Eddie glared back. "No, she doesn't want it done so it's not going to happen."
"Jerry," Dr Olendzki said to the guardian who was already starting to tackle Eddie and take him from the room.
"Rose!" Eddie yelled out as he was literally dragged from the room.
"I'll be fine Eddie!" I yelled back. 'I hope.' I added mentally.
"Just relax Rose and this will be all over before you know it." Dr Olendzki soothed as she walked around me.
"I said, it's not going to happen." I said and kicked out catching the rude nurse that purposely hurt me with the needle several times across the face with my foot.
Dr Olendzki quickly grabbed my hands and pinned them to the bed as the other nice nurse turned to grab something off the table.
"Quick! Sedate her!" Dr Olendzki yelled.
I struggled against her. "No! Please don't do this! I am begging you!" I screamed as the tears started falling down my cheeks again.
Dr Olendzki was amazingly strong for a moroi as she held me in place while the nurse came closer and stuck the needle in my arm.
After she removed it Dr Olendzki let me go and I turned to glare at the nurse.
"You fucking bitch," I spat as I started to feel the tiredness and dizziness come over me.
"I'm sorry Rose. I never wanted to do this," Dr Olendzki said.
I had enough time to think one last thought.
'I'm sorry I failed you my child.'
Then everything went black.
Don't hate me . . .
~Until next time xoxo
