Chapter 10

She looked around the room and smiled at the girls. "My name is Bonnie Bennett, but you all know me as… 'A'."

A collective gasp surrounded the room as Aria, Hanna, Spencer and Emily exchanged confused glances through wide, shocked eyes.

"I know you were probably expecting someone a littler scarier. I'm working on that."

Bonnie smiled at them all and made her way over to Spencer and pulled off the gag around her mouth. "So I hear you're the brains of the operation. I'm sure you'll have some questions for me." She waited.

Spencer looked at Bonnie in horror. How could someone who looked so nice, be so mean. She remembered all the terrible things 'A' had done to them the past year. This person was one and the same as all her worst night mares.

Spencer tried to get up and throw herself at this monster, but she was still tied to the stake. "You're horrible!" She screamed. "How could you do any of that stuff to us?! Why do you have it out for us?" Spencer was worked up, as she should be. But she also had to stay focused on figuring out what was going on so she would be able to get out of this when the time presented itself. Damon was proving to be no help, as he was in a similar situation as she was, being tied up and helpless.

"Bonnie walked over to where Spencer was sitting and looked her straight in the eyes. "I was once a nice girl with a group of friends just like you, once upon a time. And you know what I found out?" Bonnie's eyes turned cold. "Nice girls finish last." She stood up. "I was tired of being a nobody, always getting shit on. Oh little Bonnie Bennett. She's such a nice girl; let's kill her boyfriend, her father. Turn her best friend and mother into vampires. That'll teach them." Bonnie was spitting venom. "Well no one else cared. And all that taught me was I needed to be stronger, so I could fight off whatever hardships life would throw at me." She looked straight at Damon. "My so called friends never cared about me."

Spencer was lost. This girl was mad, nuts, crazy, loco bananas. She figured 'A' had to be mentally unstable to murder Ali and then torture a bunch of girls, but this girl definitely took the crazy award. "Vampires? You've got to be kidding? I have no idea what you're talking about? Are you crazy?" Spencer looked around at her friends; they all seemed to be as lost as she was.

Bonnie rolled her eyes. "Oh please, Spencer. Stop being so naive." She walked over to Alison and cut her arm with a knife. "No don't hurt her!" Spencer screamed. Alison didn't even blink an eye at the cut. Suddenly, the girl Spencer didn't know ran over to Alison and started sucking the blood from her wound.

Bonnie turned back to Spencer. "This is Katherine." She gestured to the pretty brunette, now biting Alison's arm. "She's from the same town as Damon and myself, Mystic Falls. Maybe you've heard of it?" Bonnie could see the wheels in Spencer's head were turning. She was trying to put the pieces together.

"Let's just say it's a magical sort of town. People come and go. They have magical powers or are supernatural beings themselves. Well, only the strong survive there. And I was sick of being weak." She looked at Katherine, "Enough, I still need her for the ritual." She motioned her hand toward Katherine, who was then flung across the room to where Meredith was standing.

"Come here." Meredith walked toward Bonnie with trepidation. "Spencer, I think you know who this is?' She looked from Meredith to Spencer.

"What does she have to do with this?" Spencer looked at Melissa. "You've been following me all along? What do you have to gain from helping this crazy person, Melissa? You're my sister!"

"Oh Spencer, no hard feelings. But I think Bonnie said it best. I was sick of finishing last." She walked over toward Spencer. "You stole my boyfriend, killed my fiancé and because of that, I lost my baby. Rosewood had nothing for me anymore. So I moved to a new town, started a new life. I changed my name to Meredith Fell, and I was treated like royalty there, being that her family help found the town. I became a doctor. I really enjoyed it and I was really good at my job; I helped people and they liked me. I met a guy and made new friends; she looked at Damon. Things were really starting to look up for me. But then, as the cycle never seems to end, my boyfriend was murdered. And I couldn't go through it all again. And that's when I realized, this was my life. All that was out there for me was heartbreak and I was sick of it. I wanted to make other people suffer."

"You're not the only one who lost someone…" Damon's piercing blue eyes turned cold. "He was too good for you anyway." Alaric and Damon were best friends; the two amigos taking care of all the high schoolers. He, too, found it hard to go on when Alaric died. He died a completely different person than the man he actually was.

"Shut up, Damon. It's my turn to talk."

She smiled at Spencer and walked over toward Bonnie. "That's where I met Bonnie. She's a witch and a really powerful one. She's dangerous and she was planning something big and needed help. She introduced me to Katherine, who's a vampire and kind of a bitch." She looked over to where Katherine was sitting.

Katherine was still licking Ali's blood off her face and hands, but she looked up at that statement. "Oh no offense taken. I am a bitch and don't you forget it!" She winked at Meredith and got onto her feet. She walked over toward Damon and Rebekah. "So to pick up where Mer left off. Bonnie needed us. So Meredith and I banded up just like all you idiots would do whenever Elena needs you. And we came here and put Bonnie's plan in motion." She walked up to Damon and kissed him, leaving some blood on his lips and joining Bonnie and Meredith in the middle of the room.

"Oh yeah, Spence, one more thing." Meredith looked at Damon, "Your precious Damon is a vampire too!" She watched as Spencer's face changed to absolute shock and horror.

"What?!" Spencer looked at Damon. "It's not true. It can't be..."

"Spencer, look at me. Everything is going to be fine. I'll explain everything later."

"Oh give it a rest, Damon. You can't compel her; she has a vervain bracelet on." Bonnie was walking around the room to the rest of the girls and removed the gags covering their mouths. "Well come on girls, I know you're not all brilliant, but I want to hear what you have to say."

Emily was first to speak. "So if the girl in the middle of the room is Samara, who just came in with Damon? They look like twins and Samara doesn't have a twin." Emily looked disgusted at this whole situation, but she was worried for Samara and curious about Samara's twin.

"Oh this one is a good story! Who wants to tell it?" Meredith smiled between Bonnie and Katherine and they all giggled.

Katherine walked over to Emily and sat down in front of her like she was her best friend about to tell her the latest gossip. "Ok, so you're really going to love this!" She smiled at her. "So that girl standing next to Damon? Her name is Rebekah and she's a vampire. An original vampire, actually, which means she was one of the first vampires ever. She's really powerful actually and I totally hate her, so let me get to the part where you'll hate her too." Katherine got up and walked over to Samara and touched her arm.

"Let me tell her, Katherine." Rebekah's English accent rang out so clearly in the barn. Emily looked at her, surprised to see she was speaking with an accent.

"Fine, Rebekah, that'll make it even better." Katherine smiled at Rebekah and looked back to Emily. She didn't want to miss her reaction.

Rebekah was close enough to look Emily in the eyes, "I was just passing through Rosewood one day, when I saw you out on a run. I thought you were the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen, but you reminded me of someone I knew in my past." Rebekah put her head down, as if reliving the memory.

"See, as Katherine said, I am an original vampire and I've been around a really long time. I had to watch a lot of people I cared about die. Well, back in 1889, I had a best friend. Her name was Esmeralda and she looked a lot like you. I'm not sure if everyone has a doppelganger, but if I had to guess, you and her would be each other's. Anyway, up until this point, I had only ever been attracted to men, but there was something about you, that reminded me so much of her. It was a different era back then, but we had been so close. I couldn't help the way I felt, so I followed you." Emily shuddered and looked away. "No, it was nothing like that; please don't mistake me for 'A'. I watched from afar, followed you around town, and that's when I saw Samara. It seemed the two of you were friends. And as you can see, we look exactly alike."

"How? How do you and Samara look like twins when you don't even know each other?" Emily wanted to be mad at Rebekah, but she was beautiful and her voice was mesmerizing. She might have looked just like Samara but she could now see the beauty and grace Rebekah possessed was strikingly different from Samara's goofy and quirky personality.

"She's my doppelganger. It means, she looks just like me, but we're not related. It's a magical thing, kind of. Well, I switched places with her and took on her persona so I could be with you."

"So all this time, I wasn't with Samara, but with you?" Emily looked confused. "We did things, I told you things…"

"Emily, believe me, I don't want to hurt you. All the things we did and the things I said, I meant it all." Rebekah earnestly looked at Emily.

"Yeah, all that rocking sex was very real for Beks." Katherine hopped back in and winked at Emily. "From the sounds of it, you two are pretty good in bed." Emily looked flabbergasted and uncomfortable. She was fidgeting against the stake that tied her hands and looking anywhere but at her friends, trying to think of something to say. "I, I, I don't know what you're talking about Katherine. Were you following me too?"

"Of course I was. I had to keep an eye on you and once I saw Rebekah was here, I knew that would only make things more difficult."

"Ok, but what were you even doing here to begin with?" Now it was Aria that spoke up.

"Yeah, and what does any of this have to do with Alison?" Hanna added, looking at all the faces around the room and landing on Ali's. "Ali, are you in there? You haven't even said a word."

"What did you do to her?" Spencer spat out. She had known Alison a long time and she would never let someone else control her like this; sit there like a rag doll while her friends were around her.

"Calm down, girls. Alison wanted this." Bonnie walked over to Alison and patted her hair.

"What do you mean?" Emily asked.

"Well let's just say, I met someone who told me Rosewood held great magic for me. So that led me here, to this very barn. Do you know what's buried underneath this?

"Under?" Spencer had lived in her house her whole life and as long as she could remember, the barn was standing. Her dad fixed it up a few times, but it was originally built with the house.

"That's right, Spence, under. Do you think mom and dad would have lived here if they knew a bunch of witches were buried under here?" Meredith's eyes lit up and Spencer just looked at her, eyebrows raised.

Bonnie continued, "That's right. I found out that a coven of witches were practicing black magic and were trying to raise an evil spirit that could help them acquire more magic. Well legend has it that another coven didn't want them raising that spirit, so they cursed them and now they're trapped in a prison beneath the earth. This is sacred ground that we're standing on." Bonnie's eyes lit up and it looked like she was reminiscing and not currently in the present.

"One day I came here myself to have a look at this sacred ground, see if I could believe all the hype. That was when I met Alison. She told me so much that day; about all of you and all the weird things that went on in this barn. I asked her if she wanted to be part of something big and she's a smart girl, so she agreed. But she was cocky; she wanted to go down in infamy, live forever. So we made up that whole story of how she was murdered and I had Katherine and Meredith keep an eye on you girls and make sure you knew we were watching."

"See, I need you guys for my ritual. But I'm not going to lie; I thought Alison was the key, until Damon and Rebekah showed up."

"Us, what do you mean, Bonnie?" Damon was intently listening this whole time, but this especially intrigued him.

"I needed five girls to do this spell and unleash my coven from beyond. Alison's friends seemed like the perfect group. All natives of Rosewood, one owned the land, lived here her whole life; Spencer. Another had to be physically fit, Emily, the athlete. Her spilled blood would help my sister witches climb their way back to this world. Aria, well-read and well spoken; the creative friend. Hanna, the hopeless romantic, the man chaser, one thing that the coven despises is women who let themselves be controlled by men. Their anger at her would help sharpen their hatred for this world. And then there was Alison; too cocky, proud, and dumb for her own good; she wanted to live forever. Well one had to be turned into a vampire for this, so she would be perfect."

The liars all gasped and looked at Alison. She didn't seem any different than before. Could she be a vampire now?

Bonnie looked to Alison, "Ali, honey, come here would you?"

Alison got up and walked over toward Bonnie. "What did you do to her? She seems like she's in a daze!" Aria asked, looking around worriedly.

"I compelled her, it's a thing vampires do. We control people." Katherine smiled. "As you know, Alison is really mean. Well I'm really mean too. Our personalities clashed. So when Bonnie found out she needed a vampire, I was more than happy to turn Ali and snap her neck." All the girls gasped. "She's fine, aren't you Ali?"

Katherine made eye contact and just like that Alison snapped back to life. She smiled at them all, "Hey bitches, I'm back." The looks on their faces was just what she'd hoped for. "I've always wanted immortality and now I have it!" She raised her hands in the air and cheered.

"Did it hurt?" Emily wanted to know?

"So do you drink blood now?" Aria looked disgusted.

"Why, Ali?" Spencer's voice of reason broke through their chatter. Spencer shook her head from side to side and looked disappointed.

"Why, Spencer? Because. This small town is stupid. I wanted to make someone out of myself before I died of boredom from the monotony of it all. Meeting Bonnie was the most exciting thing that ever happened to me. Katherine is a powerful vampire. I was going to be someone too. Someone other people feared."

She turned to her other friends, "No, Emily it didn't hurt. And yes, Aria, I do drink blood. Hefty Hanna, do you mind?" Hanna was closest to where she was standing and Alison bore her fangs and lunged at Hanna. Hanna screamed and braced herself for the pain, but it never came. Katherine grabbed her and compelled her again. Alison grew quiet and went back to her spot at another tip of the star and was quiet.

"I think I like her better that way" Hanna chimed in.

"But 'A' was harassing Ali too before she disappeared? How did you know who she was?" Spencer inquired.

"That was all just a ploy. She wasn't being bothered by me. That helped make the story. Someone was bothering Ali and now she's missing; we knew it would keep you girls in line."

"So she helped you. She told you things about us and helped you guys torture us?" Emily looked at Alison, ready to accuse her, but it was like she wasn't even here.

"Yep, she is a good friend to have when you're trying to be the evil mastermind in a great plot involving her friends. Too bad she has to die, she was useful."

The girls all looked around and shook their heads. Their gazes landed on Ali, but she was unresponsive.

Rebekah looked skeptic. "So that's five. Five girls. Where does Samara fit in?"

"Like I said, I thought I was ready to complete the ritual. I was going through the incantation one last time so it would be perfect and that's when Meredith noticed there was more to it. We were missing a piece in the translation. There was someone else from this 'native land' that held a pivotal part in this whole plan. I always thought Alison was the central piece, but I was wrong." Bonnie walked over to Samara and took her hand.

Katherine picked up on that thought, "As much as I hate to admit it, the doppelganger relationship is a strong one. You like to think you have absolutely no connection to each other, you just share the same face, but that's not exactly how it works, is it Beka?"

Bonnie snapped Samara's wrist and she writhed in pain on the stone alter. Rebekah was physically un-phased, but something deeper nagged at her.

"Yeah I know you can feel it. It's almost like a vampire's humanity switch. I like to think of it as a doppelganger switch. You have this connection if you so choose. I found out the hard way, with Elena, but I thought Bonnie might like to know in this situation."

"And thanks to you, I found Samara, the doppelganger of an original." Bonnie smiled. "And this 'connection' you share is powerful. Samara holds great power deep inside. I don't think she quite lived up to her potential, but she should be useful to me. Sacrificing a doppelganger of an original vampire should bring me a lot of power, especially if I sacrifice the original with her!" Bonnie picked up her white oak stake.

"Where did you get that from?" Rebekah looked at Damon and back to Bonnie. "We burned down that white oak, there aren't any stakes left."

"Mmm, it's nice to have powerful, worldly friends, Rebekah." Bonnie smiled and gripped the stake.

"Don't you think you're getting a little ahead of yourself, Bonnie? First you're doing a ritual and sacrificing six innocent girls. Then to add to that, you're going to kill an original?"

"If you think these girls are innocent, Damon, then you really are as stupid as I always thought." She smiled at him. "But yes, I am so powerful now, that I don't doubt I can do all of that."

"And you're forgetting one thing. I'm doing a ritual and sacrificing six innocent girls, killing an original AND adding the death of another old vampire, just for good measure." She laughed. "Aww, that's precious. Cocky Damon thought he was getting out of this unscathed. Better luck next time."

"So…" She looked around. "Girls, any final questions? Or were you able to keep up?"

Silence. Shock. Disbelief.

"Wait, I have one more." Once the initial shock of all of this sunk it, Spencer remembered she did have a few things to add. "Jenna really was innocent in this whole plan? She's not 'A'?"

"Again, that word. Innocent. Jenna is an evil girl too, she is far from innocent. But no, she was not 'A', she wasn't involved in this. I just used her and framed her; I knew you all hated each other, so you'd take the bait. That got you off my trail for a bit."

Spencer shook her head. It made sense. She despised Jenna and would believe any small clue that tied her to this. But, if she ever made it out of here alive, she would have to apologize. She kind of attacked her the last time she saw her.

"And how about Mona? Was she ever involved?" Hanna looked around at Katherine and Meredith, but rested her eyes on Bonnie.

"Hmm good question, Hanna. You're not as dumb as everyone makes you out to be! I visited Mona, that's why she kept saying 'the girl with the brown hair'. I had to admit, I got a little nervous after you girls showed up there, but luckily brown is a common hair color and Mona was in a mental hospital, so I got away with that one too."

"So Mona was never involved? Did you make her go crazy?"

"Yes, very good, Hanna!" Meredith laughed at her. "Bonnie made Mona go crazy with some spell and we used her to get to you, which wasn't hard."

"Ok, good then, if that's all the questions you girls have." Bonnie waved her hand and all the girls were being moved. The small stakes that they were tied to grew and were now at least 6 feet tall. The girls were standing and their arms were stretched upward and tied above their heads. Emily tried to yell out, but suddenly her mouth wouldn't open. It wasn't gagged like before. She looked at Bonnie, who only smiled.

"Yep, that's just a little taste of my power. I can make you shut your mouths without even touching you." Bonnie looked around at the rest of the girls. All of them were doing that same thing; trying to talk and open their mouths but each one failing.

Bonnie began to recite the spell; the candles burned brighter and a wind swept through the barn, igniting the candles even more; they were more like small blazing fires all over the barn.

Each of the liars stood at one of the tips of the star. Samara was still tied to the stone alter in the middle. Emily had a better vantage point of Samara now that she was standing. Samara looked scared and confused at why she was ever involved in any of this. Emily felt a little bad about it. Samara was only involved because of her and… Rebekah. Emily looked up at Rebekah to find her staring back. Her eyes could tear a hole straight through Emily.

"I'm so sorry for all of this." Rebekah mouthed at her. Emily just nodded. She was definitely confused about all the conflicting emotions she was feeling; the fact that Rebekah was a vampire and she was sad she wasn't going to get to talk to her after this and figure anything out, but she did know one thing. She loved her.

Spencer looked at Damon, her eyes pleading with him to do something. He was supposed to be here to help her. "You know, Bonnie, it's a little hot in here. Do you think you can turn down the heat?" A distraction technique; maybe that would stall Bonnie long enough for them to figure something out.

Bonnie looked up from her spell book only long enough to do to Damon what she did to the girls, make it so that he couldn't talk.

While she was taking a break from her spell, she reached her arm out. An invisible force grabbed Meredith and Katherine and took them to the side of the room to where Damon and Rebekah were tied up.

"Bonnie? What's this?" Katherine looked at her tied wrists and back to Bonnie. "Really, is this necessary?"

Meredith chimed in. "After all we did to help you, you're going to sacrifice us-" Bonnie cut her off by making her not able to talk.

"Sorry gals, you were a huge help with this whole thing. But I can't have any loose ends. I'm going to sacrifice you both for good measure."

Bonnie smiled at them and went back to her spell. The incantation was getting more intense, the fires leaping from the candles.

She walked over to Alison with a wooden stake and stabbed her right in the heart, "With this wicked beast down, we are one step closer to setting you free."

Alison fell to the ground and turned gray. She was dead. Bonnie lit a match and dropped in to the ground. A circle of fire lit up around Alison's body.

The girls all made noises, what would be gasps and grunts and sobs, could they actually talk. It was then that this all became real to them. People were going to die. Ali just walked into their lives and before they had time to talk to her, she was gone again. For real this time. Spencer looked to Damon, again pleading for help. But he didn't know what to do.

It was then that Damon realized, the stakes the girls were tied to, Bonnie was going to burn them alive. A sacrifice to the witches, how did people kill witches in the past? They burned them. Smart girl, Bonnie he thought.

She walked over to Aria, who was next in the spell. "Aria, I think you would have made a great witch. Your creativity is a gift and with your style choices, you're practically there already." She lit another match and held it above Aria, "Sister witches, as she burns, feel the creativity leaving her and making its way to you. You are strong, you will rise again." At that, she dropped the match. It lit a circle of fire around Aria. The way Bonnie had it set up, there was a line from the circle to the stake. If they didn't do something quick, Aria was going to burn and each girl in turn, all leading to Samara in the center, until Bonnie unleashed hell on earth.

Damon was getting a little worried. He was hoping to have some kind of plan, but this was not going in his favor. It was then that he remembered his plan. Nandi. She had to be around; she had to know what was going on. He just hoped her 'supplies' would be equipped to handle this.

No sooner had he thought her name, the wind blowing through the barn was changing direction. It was as if someone was trying to fight against Bonnie's incantation.

The little hiccup in Bonnie's plan surprised her, by the look on her face, but it didn't slow her for more than a few seconds. "I didn't think you would come without a fight, Damon. I'm just sorry to say you're going to lose this one." She withdrew further into the back of the barn with her spell book.

Damon wasn't sure if he was going to win this one either.

A group of women walked into the barn, aligned neatly in rows, four across and more back than Damon could see. Nandi was among them, in the front row. They were all chanting something in a different language.

Bonnie also kept up with her chanting. She wasn't about to be stopped when she was so close. Next in the circle was Hanna. "This little scarlet, her red luscious lips always pursed for a kiss. Let her burn and satisfy your rage."

Bonnie again went to drop a match, but this time before it hit the ground, it blew out. It fell an unlit match. Hanna opened her eyes, wondering what was keeping her from being swallowed by flames.

Bonnie looked up at the other witches. As they moved farther into the barn, they began to spread out from their formation and circle around the girls in the star shape on the floor. The ones closest to Aria began to circle her, chanting quietly. It appeared that the flames were dying down.

Bonnie tried to repeat the part for Hanna and light the match again, but again it was blown out before she could drop it from her hand. There were too many other witches for Bonnie to focus on her spell. She threw her hands out at a group of four witches nearest to her and the froze, but there were four more behind them, who put their hands up to combat whatever she threw at them.

She was getting weaker. Her nose was bleeding and she was hunched over. She tried to throw a spell at the witches surrounding Aria, the fire almost out, but another group of four witches stepped in front of them and stopped the spell.

Bonnie was on her knees now, trying to keep it going. She was too close to be stopped now. She tried to light another match, but her hands were shaking and she was too unsteady to get it to light.

The witches were still moving into the barn. They moved in groups of fours, each going over to the girls and untying them from the stakes. Another group, involving Nandi, went over to where Damon and Caroline were tied up with Katherine and Meredith. They were working an incantation to free them. Little by little, Damon felt the invisible bounds loosening. He realized as they undid Bonnie's magic, she became weaker. The candles all around the barn were starting to die down.

As all the girls were freed, the invisible binds keeping them quiet were also removed. Now the girls were sobbing. Aria and Hanna ran over to Alison's lifeless body and cried. Emily went to the center alter where Samara was and watched as the witches gently freed her arms and legs from the binds. Emily helped her off the alter and over to Rebekah; it seemed like Samara knew Rebekah and was comforted by her presence. They each grabbed one of Samara's arms and walked her out of the barn, careful of her wrist that Bonnie earlier broke.

As soon as Spencer was freed she ran over and hugged Damon. "I'm happy you're okay Spencer." He hugged her tight and smiled down at her. Her moment in Damon's arms was cut short as she remembered who was standing next to him. She turned around and swung her arm and punched her sister right in the face. Melissa's hands shot up to her nose and lip, which were now both oozing blood.

"Damnit, Spencer! That hurt!"

"Nice shot" Damon held up his hand for a high five and then grabbed Melissa. "I think the police will want to arrest you as an accomplice to first degree murder." Damon looked at Meredith, Melissa, Alaric's ex-girlfriend; whatever alias she was going by. "I'm happy he wasn't around to see you like this." Meredith looked at Damon teary eyed. Maybe she really did love him. Whatever, Damon was over her. He locked eyes with her.

"You will remember being an accomplice to Alison's murder. You don't know who took her or killed her, you just helped bury her remains at her grave in the cemetery." He added for good measure. "I hope you rot in jail, you selfish bitch."

He looked at Spencer to see if she was okay. Her face was hard to read. "You alright?"

She sighed. "Yeah, I mean, she's my sister, so I hate to see this happen to her. But she was such a cold person. I'm sorry she had such bad luck in life." Damon one arm hugged Spencer and lead her away from the witches taking Melissa to the police.

Caroline helped Aria and Hanna pick up Alison's corpse and carry it outside.

The remainder of the witches now surrounded Bonnie in the center of the circle near the altar. They ushered Katherine to stand beside her. The continued their chanting, the all grabbed hands. One of the oldest women in the room put two small glass boxes onto the altar.

"Oh great Mother, we beseech you, make these women pay to trying to ruin all that is good in your name."

All the candles suddenly went out and the barn was quiet. The witches raised their hands into the air and the candles started to light again, one by one, a blue hue, rather than the stark gold from before.

Everyone was watching from the entrance of the barn, intrigued to see what the 'good' witches were doing. When enough candles were lit to see into the barn, Katherine and Bonnie were gone. The witches, sat down, still in their circular formation. Their eyes were closed; they looked peaceful and seemed to be praying.

"Look." Hanna pointed to the altar. In the two little glass boxes, was a miniature Katherine and Bonnie, each in a respective box.

The oldest witch that had the boxes, stood up and made her way to the door. Nandi was soon to follow. "I am Penelope. We're ancestors of the guardian coven that put the evil coven into the ground, the ones that Bonnie was trying to raise. Our purpose in Rosewood is to stay here and protect the town from things like this."

She smiled to the woman standing beside her, "Nandi is a dear friend. She knows our purpose. I'm happy you knew to call her and she knew to get us. We were waiting for this to happen. Poor Bonnie Bennett, such a powerful witch but she was too greedy." She turned around to see her fellow witches. Two younger girls grabbed the box with the girls in it.

"We will take Katherine and Bonnie back with us. They will be kept in those glass boxes in our magical vault. It's like a magical jail, where they won't be able to escape."

"What will happen to them?" Caroline was listening and she was concerned. Sure, Bonnie is evil. But she was once her best friend.

"We'll keep watch over them and care for them. We will try to heal their hurt and see if they can turn that humanity switch back on. Often, people are not lost."

"Penny, you're too positive. I do not have a good bone in my body!" Little Katherine had to shout to be heard from inside her new glass box prison.

"Well, Miss Pierce, we'll see about that won't we?" She turned to Damon and the others. "You can visit your friends any time you'd like. Just let us know you are coming. We won't move them or release them unless you know about it."

"Will they stay small like that?" Spencer walked up to the cage with Bonnie in it and tapped on it. She covered her ears and sat on the ground.

"No, we just put them in these to transport them to our vault. Once we get there, they have normal sized cells with beds and bathrooms. It's more like a small apartment, rather than a jail. We want them to be comfortable and happy so they can properly heal."

Caroline walked over to Spencer and bent down so she could see eye level into Bonnie's glass box. "I'm so sorry, Bonnie. I know you're hurt. I know a lot of bad things have happened to you. But my life isn't perfect either. Look at me! I'm a vampire, Tyler is a werewolf and he's gone. I was here for you. Don't forget that." Caroline and Bonnie both seemed to be crying. Damon hugged Caroline and Spencer and led them away from little Bonnie.

"Thank you so much dear friend." Nandi turned to Penny and they embraced. In turn, all the liars and Caroline, Rebekah and Damon hugged Penny to thank her for saving them. Penny got back in formation with her coven and they left the barn with Bonnie and Katherine.

"Who knew there were actual witches in Rosewood? I guess there's a little bit of supernatural hiding in every town, huh?" Aria looked at the group and smiled. She found it fascinating that a whole other world was opened up to her just now.

"Well there's something you don't see every day!" Emily stated and everyone laughed, happy that some tension was relieved from this unbelievable situation.

It was early in the morning, so no one was around. The full moon was bright and the stars lit up the sky. Damon carried Alison's lifeless body to the cemetery where her tombstone was and everyone took turns digging. The girls got tired fast, so Caroline, Rebekah and Damon did most of the work. When they reached the empty casket, they opened it and Damon laid Alison's body in there.

"I can't believe she was here this whole time." Aria looked down at Alison's body. "She was always so full of life and energy. I never thought I'd see her again and especially not like this." She wiped a tear from her face. The first funeral was hard enough for all of them, never mind having a second one here at her grave.

Spencer stood next to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. "Do you think it's safe we put her back like this? I mean, she is a vampire. What if someone comes across her like this?"

"We're going to bury the body, no one will dig it up. Bonnie, Meredith and Katherine are gone. Now Alison can finally rest in peace." He looked around at the somber group of girls.

"Does anyone want to say anything?"

They all bowed their heads and said their silent goodbyes.

"Bury her, Damon." Spencer said it and turned her back. She didn't want to watch this.

Emily made her way over to where Rebekah was standing, alone near a tree. "Soooo, why do I feel like this is a little awkward?" Emily looked at Rebekah and smiled. "I know who you are; I just thought you were someone else."

Rebekah took Emily's hand and they walked down a path, not far from Ali's grave. "I promise when I was with you, I was me. I was just using Samara's name and her horrible accent." They both laughed.

"Wow, your accent is hot. I'm sorry I didn't get to hear you use it longer." Emily blushed at her confession. "And I definitely would have liked to yell 'Rebekah' in the bedroom. The sex was amazing." Something about this night and conquering death was making Emily feel bold.

"Ugh, when you say it like that, it makes me want to stay for at least one more round." She grabbed Emily's hand with her left hand and put her right hand under Emily's chin. She tilted her head back and kissed her deeply.

"Mmm, I'm going to miss that." Rebekah smiled against Emily's lips.

Emily straightened up; as much as she didn't want this moment to end, she knew it wouldn't do her any good prolonging the inevitable. "So now what?"

"Well, I think it'd be for the best if you didn't remember any of this." She frowned. "As much as that pains me to say, it's for your own protection." She pushed her hair back behind her ear. "I kind of used to be a bitch, and I've lived a long time, so I have a lot of enemies. You won't be safe around me."

"I understand. " She looked down at her hands. "I'm not happy about it though."

Rebekah lifted her chin and made her look her straight in the eyes. "You'll be off to college in another year. You're going to be a heart breaker and forget all about me."

"Doubtful. Maybe you can still drop by every once and a while, pretend to be Samara, but hop in my bed. The sex will be amazing, so I might not know it's you, but I'll know it's different." Emily smiled. "You might look like twins, but I think you're a better kisser. Remind me once more." She grabbed Rebekah and pulled her towards her. They kissed for what felt like an eternity. Emily loved getting lost in these moments with Sama- no with Rebekah. She ran her hands through her hair and hugged her arms around Rebekah's back. If she held on tight enough, maybe she wouldn't have to let her go.

Rebekah broke the kiss before it got too hot for her to handle. She pulled Emily's bracelet off of her wrist and forced Emily to look right at her.

"You'll remember the past few weeks. It'll just be you and Samara in a beautiful relationship. Ali is dead, A is no more. Everyone stopped bothering you when Ali's body showed back up. Jenna and Mona probably got bored. You will be happy."

Rebekah turned away from Emily with those words, so she could hide the tears streaming down her cheeks.

"So does this mean you're going to have to erase our memories or whatever you do?" Spencer looked up at Damon and smiled. She didn't want to watch Damon bury Ali. Spencer was mad at her for faking her death and getting herself involved in some stupid plot to kill them. But after all, Ali was her friend once upon a time. She wanted to take the good memories of Ali with her and leave the bad ones buried in this cemetery forever.

"Ahh…" He frowned. "Yes, unfortunately, we have to." He hated to admit it, but these girls wormed their way into his heart. "We can still be friends though. You can keep those memories." He winked at Spencer. "You just won't remember the other stuff."

"Oh you mean the witches and vampires and stakes, that other stuff?" Hanna smiled and hit Damon playfully.

"You say it so casually. It's hard to believe this stuff is an everyday occurrence for you." Aria looked around at the group of them.

"Awww guys, stop! You're going to make me cry!" Caroline looked at Aria and Hanna, "I'm gonna miss shopping with you girls. It reminded me of… the past." She looked at Damon; he knew she was thinking about high school, before Damon and Stefan ever came to Mystic Falls, back when Caroline, Bonnie and Elena were best friends. How different her life was now.

"Ok, ok. Before everybody makes it all sappy, let's get this over with." Damon lined the girls up and one by one, he removed their bracelets and wiped their memories of the past few hours. Aria and Hanna weren't a problem. He found himself standing in front of Spencer. "Thanks for everything, Damon. See you around." She kissed him on the cheek and waited for him to do his thing. He looked her in the eye. "The last thing you remember is saying goodbye to Ali and to 'A'. No one will be hurting you anymore. Wake up feeling refreshed, call Toby and celebrate with your friends.

Caroline compelled Samara to remember nothing of Bonnie or the ritual, just a happy summer with Emily.

The girls all turned and waved at Damon, Caroline and Rebekah and then walked away, Emily and Samara hand in hand.

"I have to give it to you Beks, I wasn't sure you were going to be able to do it." Damon looked at Rebekah.

Rebekah wiped a tear off of her cheek. "Oh what do you mean? Not be able to compel the love of my life to forget all about me and run off with another girl. You think that would be something I can't do?" She let out a sob and then laughed. "Stupid girls." She rolled her eyes at how pathetic she sounded.

"Aww the original bitch does have a heart." Caroline laughed and pulled Rebekah in for a hug.

"You know Damon, we all make a pretty good team." Caroline side eyed him. He rolled his eyes but took up formation on the other side of Rebekah. He put his arm around her and they started walking away from the barn.

"Well, I guess we should call the love sick idiots and fill them in on the newest drama. Elena will feel guilty that Bonnie went bad when she left and I'm okay with that." Damon grabbed his phone and dialed Stefan's number.

"Hey brother. Wait til you hear what I just lived through." He left Stefan a message and hung up his phone.

"Well, I am more than ready to get out of here." Damon said. He put out both of his arms and the girls flanked him on either side.

"Yes, Mr. Salvatore, to the farthest place away from here." Rebekah said, grabbing his left arm.

"But let's find a bar and celebrate. Drinks on Damon!" Caroline laughed and grabbed his right arm and the three unlikely friends walked off into the sunrise.

Rebekah and Caroline laughed. Damon had to join in. It felt good to live another day.

Hope you all enjoyed 'Beautiful Disaster! The title came from the song "Beautiful Disaster" by Kady Z. I just heard it one the radio one day and knew that was the perfect title for my fic. It has that supernatural feel to it.

Anyway, I had a blast writing this crazy fic! I'm sad to see it end. I am not at all caught up on the current seasons of 'The Vampire Diaries' (even though Delena is my OTP) but I'm currently caught up on PLL. That season finale was intense and just… wow! Can't wait to see where things go from here!

I'd like to thank all of you that followed, favorited and reviewed this fic! It means a lot to me to get your feedback on my writing and I had a great time with it!

Also thanks to my girlfriend, cactusgirl329, for getting me into fanfiction to begin with. Thanks for editing and being my soundboard for this fic. I know VD/PLL is out of your Brittana realm, but I appreciate your help and patience with me! I'll never be as good a writer as you, but thanks for letting me into your writing world and supporting me!

Special shout out to Alyx, who messaged me a few weeks ago and wants to make "Beautiful Disaster" an rp! I think that's awesome and thank you for enjoying my fic enough to do that! She's going to send me the link when she has it, so if anyone is interested, stay tuned!
