A/N: Surprise! Did you all miss me? You did? Na..Don't lie! First off I would like to apologize for nearly taking a year, A YEAR in updating this –clears throat- epilogue. Yes people an epilogue. There was a reason as to why I didn't put Complete for The Big Mistake and that was because I really didn't want to be done with this. I think the reason why I took a year to write this was because I didn't want to rush it and disappoint anyone who really loved this story. And its because of you guys that I continued on with it. So this epilogue is for all of you who stayed with me to see this finish. Thank you so very much and I hope all of you the FINAL chapter of The Big Mistake.
"Tommy Turner Silton," 35-year-old Tammy Turner called out from the bottom of the staircase to her and A.J Silton 10-year-old son. "Do not make me come up there," She warned as she lightly tapped her foot on the wooden floor. "You know I will."
"Just five more minutes mom. Please?" Tommy pleaded from his room unmoved from his large green beanbag chair and a controller in his hands. When he heard his mother's approval of the five minutes, and only five minutes, Tommy Turner Silton smiled and carried on with his video game. By his bed, a fishbowl sat on his Crash Nebula Jr bedside table. Wanda, in her goldfish form, swam out of her castle and popped out of the bowl returning to her fairy self.
"That was a third name basis calling I heard, sport." Wanda warned as she flew over next to Tommy.
"She gave me five minutes, Wanda." Tommy shrugged. " Besides I'm almost done beating this game."
"What? But your parents just got you this game two days ago." Wanda gasped. "How-?"
"Chessey Poofs and Hill Dew," Tommy chuckled. " Courtesy of Cosmo."
Wanda shook her head, " I should have known. Well its too late to yell at him now. He'll be here soon."
"What?" Tommy sat up from his beanbag chair quickly getting to his feet as he rapidly began to push the buttons on his controller. "N-no…" His eyes widened at the close defeat. The final battle between the hero and villan came to an end. The words 'Game Over' filled the screen. "No!" Tommy fell back into his beanbag chair, "That was so unfair. You could have helped," He said glaring at Wanda who only floated in the air and filed her nails with her wand.
"I heard that defeat, Tommy." Tammy called out. "Come downstairs please."
"Coming," Tommy sighed as Wanda transformed herself into a pink watch on his wrist.
Tammy looked at herself in the mirror by the door checking on her lips to make sure she did not smudge her lipstick when she snuck a bite of the velvet cupcake that was supposed to be saved for later. A.J came up from behind her, his hands placing themselves on her waist as he pulled her closer to him giving her a kiss on the neck.
"You look beautiful as always." He smiled. Tammy turned around to face her husband and planted a kiss on his lips.
"Ewwww, gross." Tommy joked as he slid down the banister. "Kid in the room."
"And its about time too," A.J smiled as he ruffled his son's hair. "Every time I mess with your hair son, it just reminds me of how lucky you are. Just look at this hair." A.J wrapped his arms around Tommy as the two began to wrestle.
"He does have Turner genes," Tammy chuckled as she watched her two boys. "And we Turners have fabulous hair."
"Yeah," Tommy grunted. "I'm lucky. Lucky to not have your bald head." Tommy snorted as A.J picked him up and over his shoulder. "Put me down."
"Say the B word again," A.J warned turning Tommy upside down to face the floor.
"Bald." Tommy taunted.
"Sweetheart," A.J turned to face Tammy. "He said it. Should I?"
"A.J," Tammy couldn't help but laugh as A.J pretended to let go of Tommy causing laughter to erupt from their son. "Put him down….gently." A.J sighed in defeat and released Tommy…carfully of course. "I happen to love your bald head."
"Son?" A.J rose an eyebrow to Tommy to which the 10-year-old took a step back.
":Run mom!" Tommy yelled, " You said it!"
"A.J!" Tammy shrieked as A.J wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her up being careful with her dress. "Do not!" She giggled. The doorbell rang seconds after, saving Tammy from being tickled. A familarir voice spoke on the other side of the door.
" Hey! Whose getting murdered in there?"
Tommy gasped, "Uncle Timmy and Aunt Tootie are here!" Tommy opened the door to find Timmy, Tootie and their nine-year-old daughter Tara sitting on Timmy's shoulders.
"Hey there kiddo," Timmy greeted his nephew before placing Tara on the floor to say hello to Tammy and A.J. As the adults said their hellos, Tara's eyes widened as she grabbed Tommy's hand and led him away from the laughing adults.
"Bad news," Tara said in a hushed tone.
"Whats wrong?" Tommy asked. "Wait…" He looked at the top of Tara's head where something was missing. A green headband. "Where's Cosmo?"
"That's the bad news." Tara bit her lip as she hid behind her cousin.
"Tammy, Blair couldn't make it tonight." Tootie spoke. "She ate some bad clams yesterday."
"Oh no…" Tommy gasped.
"Girl called us while she was…you know." Timmy shuddered. "We could hear everything."
Tootie smacked Timmy on the back, "Timmy!"
"Ow. What? It was gross." Timmy smacked his lips. "Feisty."
"Should we call Chester and Trixie to cancel?" A.J suggested.
"Cancel, cancel…." Tommy whispered crossing his fingers. "Tara please tell me they're going to cancel."
Tara shook her head, "It's too late."
"Theres no need to cancel," Tootie smiled. "Nicky." She looked towards the door. Vicky and Ricky's 16-year-old son stepped in the house flashing everyone a smile.
"Evening Aunt Tammy," Nicky greeted as he hugged her. "That red dress makes your eyes pop."
"Why thank you Nicky."
Nicky nodded and turned his attention to A.J, "And Uncle A.J, how is that new invention coming along?"
"It's almost done," A.J replied. "Just a couple of more kinks to work on and it'll be perfect."
"Sweet." Nicky nodded. "Can't wait."
"Thank you for babysitting on such short notice," Tammy said.
"Oh it's no problem Auntie." Nicky shrugged. " The nuns down at the church understand."
Tommy rolled his eyes, "Oh what a load of-"
"Tommy." Wanda snapped from his wrist.
"Hi Wanda," Tara whispered.
"Hi sweetheart." Wanda replied.
"Nicky took my headband in the car on the way over here." Tara frowned.
"Don't worry," Tommy assured her. "We'll get Cosmo back."
Tara and Tommy looked up from their talk when their parents had called them over to say their goodbyes and their I love you. With a long hug and a kiss on their cheeks, Tammy, Timmy, A.J and Tootie grabbed their coats and purses.
"I cant wait to touch Trixie's baby bump." Tootie excitedly told Tammy as they began to walk out.
"I know," Tammy giggled. "I'm so excited."
"You ladies can gossip in the car," A.J said opening the door. "But if we don't leave now they'll give away our reservations."
"Yeah right," Timmy chuckled. " I own the restaurant."
"Oh here he goes," Tootie sighed. "Bragging countdown starts now."
"Not on my watch." Tammy and Tootie each grabbed Timmy's ears as he started to speak and led him outside to A.J's Cadillac. Once the adults were in the SUV and drove off, Nicky smiled delvishly and closed the door.
"Well, well, well." Nicky snickered as he turned to face his cousins. Tommy glared at Nicky, his arm in front of Tara protectively. "It's just us now. And what oh what shall we do first?" He took his steps towards them. "Should I hang you up above the staircase like last time? Or have you two rub my feet and head while we watch It? We do have three hours to kill. Personally I really do like chasing you two and locking you in the coat closet." He laughed. "It really is funny hearing your pathetic banging for help."
Tommy took Tara's hand and kept her behind him as they moved away from Nicky, "How about you give Tara back her headband and we'll just go to our room."
"What? This thing?" Nicky took the headband out from his back pocket and held it out in front of him. "Its just a headband. Would you really cry if I snapped it in half?"
"No!" Tara cried out.
As Nicky focused on Tara, Tommy brought his wrist to his mouth as he whispered a wish to Wanda. A skateboard appeared in front of Nicky. Unaware of the skateboard, Nicky stepped onto it and tripped backwards letting go of the headband. Tara ran forward and caught it just in time. "Are you alright?" She whispered to Cosmo.
"Whoa…I'm all dizzy." Cosmo whispered back.
"Come on!" Tommy grabbed Tara once more and led her upstairs as Nicky shook his head with a groan.
"Get back here you dweebs!" Nicky picked up the skateboard and broke it in half with his knee before chasing after Tara and Tommy.
"Cosmo," Tara huffed. " I wish for plastic wrap on Tommy's door." Tara and Tommy ran into Tommy's room ducking under the plastic wrap Cosmo had made appear. Nicky was close behind but fell behind as he collided with the wrap causing him to stop.
"Get…Get this off of me!" Nicky yelled shaking his head.
With Nicky distracted, Tommy and Tara waited next to the fishbowl before Cosmo and Wanda poofed them into the fishbowl castle. Once safely inside, Cosmo and Wanda transformed themselves back. "That was a close one." Tara breathed, "Did he even get out of the wrap?"
"Nope." Tommy laughed as he watched his diabolic cousin struggle through a small opening.
"I wish the wrap was gone." Tara wished to Wanda. Obeying her godchild wish, Wanda lifted her wand and the plastic wrap was gone leaving Nicky confused. They could hear his garbled annoyance through the fishbowl before leaving the room with a slam of the door.
"I don't know who was worse," Wanda spoke to Cosmo as they followed their godchildren down the long hallway. "Vicky or her son."
"Oh Vicky. I mean what she used to do to Tammy and Timmy was way worse" Cosmo chimed. "Don't you remember the swirly she gave to Tammy? Or tying Timmy to the hood of her car?"
"Cosmo shush." Wanda zipped Cosmo's mouth shut as Tara and Tommy stopped to listen to their conversation.
"What did he say?" Tommy asked.
"Oh nothing sport. Cosmo is just being Cosmo." Wanda sighed of relief when the two nodded and continued to walk. Wanda eyed Cosmo, but the two took a moment. "Um you two keep going we'll catch up."
"You got it." Tommy waved as they continued to walk, knowing better than to go through any other door than the one big red one.
Cosmo and Wanda floated over towards a door with star above the doorframe. Making sure Tommy and Tara were long gone, Wanda and Cosmo opened the door revealing countless of pictures of Tammy and Timmy Turner. Pictures of when they were children down to their marriage pictures. Cosmo and Wanda were lucky to have been there for their graduation and wedding. Secretly of course. Granted by the Grand Council, Cosmo and Wanda were free to watch their old godchildren grow from a distance and when the time came to having children of their own; the two fairies were reported to guide the children of the two greatest godchildren any fairy in Fairy World would be lucky to have.
Sighing out of happiness, Cosmo and Wanda shared a kiss before closing the door and locking it. They lifted their wands and poofed in front of Tara and Tommy who waited by the red door leading to Tara's room of her house.
"What took you two so long?" Tara asked as she placed a full faced helmet on her head as Tommy put his on.
"Cosmo had to check up on Phillip." Wanda lied,
"The nickel?" Tommy asked.
"Hey," Cosmo gasped. "Phillip is not just a nickel…he is family."
Tommy and Tara only shared a laugh as they shook their heads and opened the door and swam out of the castle and into the fishbowl. Cosmo and Wanda poofed themselves and their godchildren out of the fishbowl and into Tara's room. "Well we have three hours to kill." Tara said as they walked out of her room and down the stairs to the living room, where they sat in front of the television. Tommy grabbed a game controller and handed one to Tara. "I've gotten better Tommy," The 9-year-old beamed as the video game loaded. "I got to level 6 all by myself."
"Lets see if we can get you to level 7 by the end of the night," Tommy smiled as Tara by him. Cosmo and Wanda watched from behind and couldn't help but smile. Tammy and Timmy were doing an amazing job as parents and as adults. Their whole live after the incident were nothing but achievements and moments like the one in front of Cosmo and Wanda. Cosmo wrapped his arm over Wanda's shoulder. Wanda made herself comfortable in her husband's arms loving how romantic he was getting. But as she knew it were too good to be true, Cosmo poofed himself up a chili cheese dog and began to cheer on his godchildren.
Tara and Tommy found themselves back in Tommy's room that late night in time to hear the front door open. Quickly Wanda transformed into Tara's pink headband and Cosmo into Tommy's green watch as Tara and Tommy pulled out the large bean bags together to make a small bed near Tommy's bed. Tommy climbed into his bed as Tara lay herself down on the beanbag chair as they could hear their parents footsteps coming up the stairs.
"Bye Tommy. Bye Cosmo," Tara smiled as she covered herself and closed her eyes pretending to be asleep.
"Bye Tara. Bye Wanda" Tommy whispered as he turned himself over listening to the door open. He heard the adults 'Aw' at the scene before them to which he rolled his eyes and stifled a small laugh but stood quiet when they got closer.
"Just look at these two." Tammy sighed happily.
"So cute." Tootie took out her phone and took a quick picture. "That one is going in the scrapbook."
Timmy walked over towards the bed and leaned down to gently pick up Tara, "Come on princess." Saying their goodbyes, Tammy and A.J followed Timmy, Tootie and Nicky out the door and waved until their car was long gone. Tommy and Cosmo watched as they left through the window.
"Crash Nebula Jr?" Tommy smirked to Cosmo.
"You betcha kiddo."
